Bei diesem süßen Motiv von Wal-Mama mit Wal-Baby dachte ich sofort, dass das perfekt für eine Babykarte wäre. Und so zeige ich diese etwas andere Babykarte heute auf dem Stampcorner Blog.

When I saw this cute image of mama wale with her baby wale I knew it was perfect for a baby card. And so I am sharing this not so typical baby card over on the Stampcorner Blog today.
Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück Watercolor Carstock mit Distress Inks in wellenförmiger Faux Dip Dye Technik coloriert. Hierbei wird der Cardstock komplett mit der hellsten Farbe eingefärbt und diese getrocknet. Dann dunkelt man die Farbe ein klein wenig ab und trägt, ein klein wenig weniger hoch, diese Farbe auf den Cardstock auf. So arbeitet man sich bis ganz unten, wo die Farbe dann am dunkelsten und intensivsten ist. Ich habe hier Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon und Chipped Sapphire benutzt und dann silbrige-weiße Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.
Dann habe ich den Cardstock mit der größten der Rectangle Stitch Stanzen und mittig mit der drittgrößten der Stanzen ein Fenster ausgstanzt. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war ich mir noch nicht ganz sicher, ob ich eine Shaker Card machen will oder nicht - später habe ich mich dagegen entschieden.
For the background I colored a piece of watercolor cardsdtock with Distress Inks in a wavy Faux Dip Dye technik. You start coloring a complete piece of cardstock with a very light color and dry the ink. Then you darken/intensify the color a bit and add the next layer, keeping just a bit of the lighter color above it visible. This way you color the complete cardstock with the bottom being the darkest and most intense. I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire and then splattered some silver-white Metallic Watercolor on top.
I used the largest of the Rectangle Stitch dies to cut my card panel and then die cut a window from the center using the third largest of the dies. At this point I wasn't sure yet if I wanted to make a shaker card - I decided against it later.
Das süße Walmotiv ist aus dem Set Meerliebe. Ich habe es mit Copics coloriert und ausgeschnitten. Dann habe ich die Wale auf das kleinere, innere Stück des Hintergrunds geklebt und rundum einige Wasserpflanzen aufgeklebt. Die sind aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. Eine große Koralle habe ich dabei nur außen auf den Rahmen gesetzt, alle anderen Motive dahinter geschoben. So entsteht eine tolle optische Tiefe.
The cute whale image is from the Meerliebe stamp set. I colored it with Copics and cut it out. Then I adhered the whales to the smaller inner piece of the background and added a few under water plants around it. I die cut those from colored cardstock and shaded them with Copics. One large coral I put only onto the outer frame, all the other images I put under it. This give the card some great depth.
Der Text, der aus dem Stempelset Liebe Ist stammt, schwebt hier in der Luft. Dafür habe ich ihn mit weißem Embossingpulver auf ein Stück Acetate embosst und das dann mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt über den Cardstock mit der Szene geklebt. Das Tape versteckt sich hinter dem Rahmen, den ich dann ebenfalls wieder mit 3D Tape hinterlegt habe.
Ebenfalls auf die Folie habe ich dann noch drei kleine rote Herzen geklebt.
The text - you're the only one that counts - seems to float in the water. I white heat embossed it onto a piece of acetate and then attached it with thick foam tape over the cardstock with my scene. The tape I've hidden behind the frame, that I also backed with foam tape.
Also to the acetate I glued three small red hearts.
Die Tiefe der kompletten Karte aufs Foto zu bringen ist wirklich schwer. Ich habe es trotzdem versucht.
Da ich mich gegen eine Shaker Card entschieden habe - das Füllmaterial hätte einfach zu viel der Szene im Inneren des Rahmens überdeckt - habe ich von außen sowohl auf den Rahmen als auch auf die Folie einige klare Pailetten aufgeklebt, die wie aufsteigende Luftblasen aussehen.
Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
Catching the whole depth of this card is really hard, but I tried it anyway.
Since I decided against a shaker card - the filling material would just have covered too much of the scene inside the frame - I adhered a few clear sequins to both the outer frame and the acetate. They look like small bubbles.
Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.
