To a JEANuine Friend

Vor kurzem ist das Jean Jacket Bundle von HeroArts bei mir eingezogen und das ist meine erste Karte damit.

A little ago I got the Jean Jacket Bundle by HeroArts  and this is my first card using it.

 

Ich hatte erst die Jacke gestaltet und dann überlegt, was als Hintergrund dazu passen würden. Letztendlich habe ich mit blauer Tinte, den selben Farben, die auch bei der Jacke zum Einsatz kamen, und einem Stencil Strahlen auf hellblauen Cardstock gewischt. Darauf habe ich dann weiße Acrylfarbe gespritzt.

 

I had created the jacket first and then thought, what I wanted to do as the background. Finally I used some blue ink, the same tones I also used on the jacket, and a rays stencil to add some rays  to a piece of light blue cardstock. Then I splattered white acrylic paint onto it. 

 

Das Bundle besteht aus einer Stanze und dazu passenden Stencils, beides auch separat zu nutzen. Ich habe es kombiniert und die Jacke aus grau-blauem Cardstock gestanzt. Ich bin sowieso nicht unbedingt der Jeans-Mensch, aber wenn, dann muss sie dunkelblau oder schwarz sein. Hellblaue Jeans mochte ich noch nie. 

Ich habe die Details für die Front der Jacke zusätzlich aus dem selben Cardstock gestanzt, die Knöpfe sind aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock. Dann habe ich die Stencil benutzt, um die Falten aufzuwischen. Dabei habe ich die zusätzlich gestanzten Teile ebenfalls gewischt. Ich hatte außerdem noch den Denim Background von MFT. Den habe ich erst mit dunkelblauer Tinte und anschließend mit weißer Pigment-Tinte auf alle Teile gestempelt - bewusst nicht perfekt, so dass es realistischer wirkt. Aber ich finde, der Stempel gibt der Jacke den Look, als würde sie tatsächlich aus Stoff bestehen.

Mit einem hellgrauen Gelstift habe ich dann die  Nähte aufgemalt, außerdem hat die Jacke an der Seite ein rotes Label bekommen. Ihr wisst sicher, welche Marke ich da im Kopf hatte. Auch im Inneren des Kragens habe ich ein Label angebracht. Das ist aus dem Stempelset Occasional Labels von MamaElephant. Ich habe den Stempel beim Einkleben ins Misti etwas gebogen, so dass er sich an die Rundung des Kragens anpasst. Dann habe ich ihn mit hellblauer Tinte abgestempelt.

Es gibt zu dem Jackenset zwei Zusatzsets - eines mit Fliege und Hosenträgern und eines mit Patches als Deko für die Jacke. Die habe ich beide nicht bestellt - ich denke, den Look kann man auch ohne die Stanzen gestalten. Also habe ich meine Stanzen nach kleinen Motiven durchforstet  und mich dann für eine kleine Blume von Create a Smile, einen Smilie von Spellbinders und eine Kirsche von LawnFawn entschieden. Ich habe die Teile aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt und auf schwarzen Cardstock geklebt. Den habe ich dann mit der Schere so ausgeschnitten, dass ein schmaler schwarzer Rand stehen bleibt. 

The bundle contains a die and a matching stencil, both can be used without each other. I combined them here and die cut the jacket from grey-ish blue cardstock. I am not really a jeans girl but if I feel like wearing one it has to be dark blue or black. I never liked the ligth blue ones.

I also die cut the detail pieces for the front of the jacket from the same cardstock, the buttons I cut from matte silver metallic cardstock. Then I used the stencils to add the shadows to  the jacket. I also did that on the parts I had cut additionally. I also have the Denim Background by MFT. I first stamped it with dark blue ink onto all the pieces, then with white pigment ink on top. I didn't care for a perfect impression tomake the look more realistic. And I think, the jacket really looks like it's made from fabric. 

With a light grey gel pen I added the stitches and also glued a small red label next to the pocket. I think we  all  know which brand I had in mind. I also added a label to the inside of the collar. That's made using a stamp from Occasional Labels by MFT. When sticking  it to my Misti I bent it slightly to make the shape match the one on the collar. I stamped it with light blue ink.

There are two additional sets you can order for the jean jacket - one with a bow tie and suspenders and another one with little patches. I didn't any of these because I think I can get the same look without the dies. So I went through my dies and looked for small images I could use. I went with a small flower from Create a Smile, a Smilie by Spellbinders and a cherry by LawnFawn. I cut all the pieces from colored cardstock, glued them onto black cardstock and cut that out with my scissors, leaving a small edge of the black visible all around.  

 Irgendwie wollte ich dann natürlich das Jeans-Thema mit meinem Text aufgreifen. Neben JEANius ist mir nur JEANuine eingefallen, aber das passt ja ganz gut zu einer Freundschaftskarte. Ich habe die Buchstaben aus blauem und weißem Cardstock gestanzt und die blauen auf die selbe Weise mit dem Denim Background bestempelt, wie ich es auch bei der Jacke getan habe. Dann habe ich die weißen Buchstaben etwas versetzt dahinter geklebt.

Der Rest des Textes ist mit Stempel aus den Henry's Build a Sentiment Sets von LawnFawn und dunkelblauer Tinte gemacht. Alles habe ich oben links auf den Hintergrund geklebt.

 

I somehow wanted to include the jeans theme in my sentiment. Besides JEANius I only came up with JEANuine, but I think, that goes great with a friendship card.  I die cut the letters from blue and white cardstock and stamped the Denim Background onto the blue ones just like I did on the jacket. Then I glued the white letters behind the blue ones just a bit offset. 

The rest of the text is made using stamps from the Henry's Build a Sentiment sets by LawnFawn and stamped with dark blue ink. Then I glued the text to the top right of my background. 

 

 

Beim Zusammenkleben der Karte habe ich alle zusätzlichen Elemente mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt, die Knöpfe sind jeweils mit zwei weiteren Lagen blauen Cardstocks hinterlegt.

 Aber das war noch nicht das Ende der Karte...

 

When putting the card together I backed all the additional elements with thin foam tape, behind the buttons there are two layers cut from blue cardstock.

But there's more behind this card... 

 

 

 Ich wollte nämlich unbedingt auch die Rückseite der Jacke benutzen. Also habe ich sie nicht einfach aus blauem Cardstock gestanzt sondern aus einer Art Karte. Die Falz der Karte habe ich dabei ganz knapp innerhalb der seitlichen Kante der Jacke angelegt. So ist eine kleine, seitlich aufklappbare Jacke entstanden. Wenn man sie öffnet, sieht man das hier.

Ich habe die Rückseite der Jacke genauso "behandelt" wie die Vorderseite. Als zusätzliches Element habe ich hier nur einen Kragen für die rechte Seite gestanzt. Auf der linken Seite habe ich darauf verzichtet, damit die Stelle nicht zu dick wird.  

 

 I really wanted to use the back of the jacket, too. So instead of cutting it from just cardstock, I cut it from a smaller sidefold card. I placed the fold of this small card just next to the side edge of the die to create this jacket shaped card. When you open it, this is what you see.

I created the back of the jacket just like I did the front. As an additional element I only added a collar to the jacket on the right side. I skipped it on the left because I was afraid, that the jacket would become too bulky here. 

 

 

Auf der linken Rückseite habe ich dann ein ausgestanztes thanks aufgeklebt. Ich habe es mit einer Stanze von MFT aus weißem und  rotem Cardstock gestanzt und auf die Jacke geklebt. Der Text war hier notwendig, da dieser Jackenteil ja nirgends aufgeklebt wird, an den Stellen der Nähte aber Linien in die Jacke gestanzt werden. Das "thanks" hält die zusammen und die Jacke fällt nicht auseinander. 

 

On the left back I glued on a die cut thanks. I cut that with a die by MFT from white and red cardstock and glued it on. I needed that text here because this part of the jacket isn't adhered to anything. The die cuts slits into the jacket where the seams are, the "thanks" holds the jacket together and keeps it from coming apart.  

 

 

 

 Auf der rechten Jackenrückseite geht der Text dann weiter. "Thank you for always having my back" fand ich passend zur Rückenansicht der Jacke. Da ich auch hier keinen passenden Stempel habe, habe ich den Text mit Stempeln und Stempelteilen aus verschiedenen Stempelsets von LawnFawn zusammengesetzt. Dann habe ich als  Deko noch drei Herz-Patches gestaltet und auf der Jacke verteilt - zwei auf der rechten und eines auf der linken Seite. Die Herzen-Patches sind als Stanzen so im Jean Jacket Set enthalten. 

 

The text continues on the right jacket back. "Thank you for always having my back" seemed a good text to go with the back of the jacket. I didn't have  a text that says that. So I used  different stamps and parts of stamps from differenet stamp sets by LawnFawn to put it together. Then I also created three heart shaped patched and glued them onto the jacket backs - one on the left and two on the right side. The dies for those heart patches come in the Jean Jacket die set.  

 

Ein Monster zum Vatertag

Vor einiger Zeit habe ich Euch ja schon eine Karte mit dem Monster aus dem Just Add Cake Kit von Spellbinders gezeigt. Als ich dann die Stanzen so durchgeblättert habe, kam mir die Idee, den Bierkrug aus einem der Sets mit dem Monster zu kombinieren. Entsanden ist dann diese Vatertagskarte.

A little ago I shared  with you the card I  made using the monster from the Just Add Cake Birthday box by Spellbinders. When I went through the dies I had the idea of combining the beer mug from one of the sets with the monster. That's how this father's day card was made.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück sehr hellblauen  Cardstocks, den ich von unten her mit Distress Ink Speckled Egg gewischt habe. Dann habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

The background I made from a piece of very pale blue cardstock. I inked it from the bottom up with Distress Ink Speckled Egg and then added splatters of white acrylic paint. 

Das Monster habe ich hier aus blauem Cardstock gestanzt - den Körper etwas heller, den Mund und die Arme dunkler. Auf den Körper habe ich dann mit Polychromos ein Fellmuster aufgemalt. 

Da die Karte ja eine Vatertagskarte sein sollte, wollte ich das Monster etwas älter aussehen lassen. Deswegen habe ich aus weißem Cardstock einen Schnurrbart und Augenbrauen gestanzt und mit Polychromos schattiert. Die Augenbrauen sind aus einem Santa-Stanzenset und eigentlich die Fellteile der Ärmel, ich habe sie ein wenig passend geschnitten. Beim Schnurrbart kann ich nicht mal sagen, aus welchem Set er ist. Es war der einzige, der passte. 

I die cut the monster from blue cardstock - the body a bit lighter, the back of the mouth and arms darker. I used Polychromos to add a fur pattern to the body.

Since this is going to be a father's day card I wanted  my monster to look a bit older. So I die cut a mustache and some eyebrows from white cardstock and shaded them with Polychromos. The eyebrows  are from a Santa set and oringinally the fur piecdes  of the arms. With the mustache I can't even tell where it is from but it was the only one that fit. 

 

 Der Bierkrug ist, wie schon gesagt, aus einem weiteren Set aus  der Birthday Box. Ich habe die Teile aus hellblauem sowie hell- und dunkelgelbem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. Das herausspritzende Bier ist mit einer Stanze aus dem Sektflaschen-Set aus der Box gemacht. Außerdem habe ich das Bier mit der Schere schräg abgeschnitten und hellblau hinterlegt, damit die Neigung im Bierkrug zumindest ansatzweise passt.

Über den Glasteil des Krugs habe ich dann noch eine Lage Acetate gelegt, der Kleber ist hinter dem Schaum und den Händen versteckt. 

Und weil das Monster ja nicht in der Pampas stehen kann, habe ich einen Biertisch davor aufgebaut. Davon sieht man natürlich nur einen Teil der Tischplatte. Die habe ich mit einer der Barn Wood Planks Stanzen von HoneyBeeStamps gemacht und mit Copics schattiert. Darauf war dann, neben dem Bierkrug, auch noch Platz für einen Text, der ebenfalls in der Box kommt. 

 

The beer mug, as already mentioned, is from another set from the birthday box. I cut the pieces from light blue and light and dark yellow cardstock and shaded them with Copics. The beer, that's splashing out of the mug, is made using a die from the champagne bottle set of the kit. I also cut off  part of the beer at an angle and put some light blue cardstock behind it to make the mug and its  content look more realistic. Over the glass of the mug I put a  layer of acetate, the glue I've hidden behind the foam and the hands. 

And because the monster couldn't have his beer just in the air I put up a beer table in front  of him. Of course you can only see part of the table top here.  I die cut that using one of the Barn Wood Planks dies by HoneyBeeStamps and shaded them with Copics. And on top of that there was also room for a small sentiment, that also comes in the box.

 

 

Oben auf der Karte war Platz für meinen Text. Der ist mit Stempeln aus dem Set Henry's Build a Sentiment Spring von LawnFawn sowie einem weiteren Text aus der Birthday  Box gemacht - beides und der Text unten auf der Karte  ist weiß auf dunkelblauen Cardstock embosst. 

Dem Monster habe ich dann noch einen Partyhut aufgesetzt, auf dem oben ein weißer Pompom befestigt ist. Rundherum fliegen noch Luftschlangen, die wieder aus dem Set mit der Sektflasche sind. Die habe ich jweils einmal aus hellem und einmal aus dunkel gelbem Cardstock gestanzt und leicht versetzt aufeinander geklebgt. Um alles herum fliegen dann noch ein paar Konfetti. Selbst die  sind aus der Birthday Box. 

 

In the top half  of the  card there was room for my text. I  made that using stamps from Henry's Build a Sentiment Spring by LawnFawn  and another text from the birthday  box. All of them, also the one in the bottom of the card, are white heat embossed onto dark blue cardstock.

I put a party hat onto the monsters head and glued a white pompom to its top. Around  the monster there are some streamers, those are again from the champagne bottle set.  I cut them from light and dark yellow cardstock and stacked them a bit offset. And even the confetti, that are flying around on the card, are from the birthday box.

 

 

Beim Zusammenkleben kam dann wieder 3D Tape zum Einsatz, auch das Monster ist mit dünnem Tape auf dem Inneren des Munds angebracht. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

When putting the scene together I used foam tape, also the monster is adhered to the inside of the mouth using thin foam tape.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card. 

 

Im Bambuswald

 Heute machen wir einen Besuch bei diesem süßen Panda, und der wohnt natürlich in einem Bambuswald.

Today we are paying this cute little panda a visit, and of course he's at home in a beautiful bamboo forest. 

 

Diese Karte ist mit weiteren Stanzen aus dem neusten Release von ScrappyTails entstanden. Unter anderem gab es auch eine quadratische Tunnelkarte. Und die habe ich als Basis für meine Karte verwendet. 

Ich habe die Teile aus helbraunem Cardstock gestanzt und sie von oben her ein wenig mit Disterss Ink Bundled Sage gewischt. Anschließend habe ich feine Wassertropfen darauf verteilt. Mit dem Bambus darauf und durch die tolle Tiefe der Tunnel Card sieht es dann so aus wie diese besondere Stimmung, die es nur im Wald gibt, wenn die Sonne durch die Bäume scheint und alles in ein ganz besonderes Licht taucht. 

 

I made this card using momre dies from the latest release by ScrappyTails. One new item is a square tunnel card and that's what I used as the base of my card.

I die cut the pieces from light brown cardstock and shaded them lightly from the top down with Distress Ink Bundled Sage. Then I splattered some fine droplets of water onto the ink. With the bamboo on top and the great depth of the tunnel card it looks like this special feeling you only get in the woods, when the sun is shining through the trees and puts everything into that very special light.

 

 

Ich habe alle Lagen mit Bambus beklebt - auf der vordersten Lage nur ein klein wenig direkt auf dem Rahmen, nach hinten in der Karte immer mehr, bis die hinterste Lage komplett damit beklebt ist. 

Die Bambusstangen sind mit der Bamboo Cover Plate  gemacht. Die Stanze ist 5" x 7" groß, die Tunnel Card 5" x 5". Dadurch konnte ich die Bambusstangen in der Höhe ein wenig verschieben und man sieht nicht sofort, dass es die selben Stangen sind. Ich habe sie aus hellgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics ein wenig schattiert. 

Auf der vordersten Lage habe ich vor die Bambusstangen noch einige bewachsene Steine geklebt. Die sind aus dem Set Aquatic Plants. Außer dem Bambus habe ich alle Elemente auf der Karte aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Außerdem habe ich jede Lage mit einer weiteren aus weißem Cardstock hinterlegt, um der Karte viel Stabilität zu geben. 

 

I added bamboo to each layer - just a bit to the front one and then more and more with each layer. The back layer is covered with it completly. 

I cut the bamboo with the also new Bamboo Cover Plate. The  die is 5" x 7", the tunnel card 5" x 5". That gave me the possibility to move the die cuts up or down a bit so it's not that obvious that they are all made with the same die. I cut them from light green cardstock and shaded them with Copics.

On the card front I added some grown over rocks from Aquatic Plants. Except for the bamboo I die cut all the elements on this card from white cardstock and colored them with Copics. I also backed each with another layer cut from white cardstock to make the card nice and sturdy. 

 

 

In der Mitte der zweiten Lage sitzt der kleine Panda. Der ist/war ein Freebie mit dem Release - ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es ihn immer noch gibt. Aber ich finde ihn einfach zu süß. 

Ich habe ihn auf einige weitere Steine gesetzt, damit er es schön bequem hat. Den oberen Teil des Stanzteils habe ich hier weggeschnitten.

 

In the center of the second layer there's the little panda. He is/was a freebie with this release - and I am not sure if it's still available. But he's such a cutie. 

I put some more rocks under him to make him sit comfortably. I cut off the pieces above the rocks here.

 

 

Um die Karte etwas mehr und nicht nur mit Bambus zu füllen habe ich auf die Lage hinter dem Panda ebenfalls mittig einen größeren "Haufen" Felsen mit Pflanzen aufgeklebt. So fühlt sich der Panda bestimmt viel wohler. 

 Im Japanese Cherry Blossom Square  Tunnel PopUp Card Set gibt es auch eine Stanze für ein vollflächiges Quadrat. Das habe ich hinter die hinterste Lage geklebt - gestanzt aus weißem Cardstock um dort eine persönliche Nachricht schreiben zu können. Auf die Innenseite habe ich dann das Quadrat, das mittig aus den einzelnen Tunnel-Elementen ausgestanzt wird, aufgeklebt. Das habe ich wieder mit Bundled Sage gewischt und mit Wasser besprenkelt. Dann habe ich sie mit Bambus beklebt.

 

To fill the card a bit more I - with something else than bamboo -  I adhered a larger "pile" of rocks with plants onto the layer behind the panda. I am sure the panda enjoys these very much.

  In the Japanese Cherry Blossom Square Tunnel PopUp Card set there's also a die included that cuts at solid square.  I glued that behind the back layer, cut from white cardstock to be able to write a personal message onto it. Onto the inside I glued one of the squares that get cut from the tunnel card elements. Again I shaded it with Bundled Sage and flicked some water onto it.

 

 Nun fehlte meiner Karte nur noch ein Text. Der ist aus dem Good Fortune Stempelset. Ihr kennt sicher diese flachen Schalen mit Bambusstangen, die gerne als Glücksbringer verschenkt werden. Mit denen im Hinterkopf fand ich einen "viel Glück" Text passend zum Bambuswald auf meiner Karte. Ich habe ihn mit schwarzem StazOn auf einen Streifen Folie gestempelt und den dann zwischen der ersten und zweiten Lage der Karte an den beiden Seitenteilen angeklebt. 

Und um die Karte noch ein winzig kleines bisschen zu dekorieren, habe ich zwei schmale Streifen Folie hinten an den Panda geklebt und an deren oberem Ende jeweils ein weißes Herz angebracht. 

 

Now my card just needed a text. It's from Good Fortune stamp set. I don't know if this is a worldwide or real japanese thing, but here in Germany you can buy flat bowls full of bamboo sticks, that grow and are meant to bring good fortune. With this in mind I thought, this text would work great with the bamboo forest on my card. I  stamped that with black StazOn onto a strip of acetate and adhered that between the first and second layer, glueing it to the side pieces.

To decorate the card just a tiny bit I glued two thin strips of acetate to the back of the panda, then added a white clay heart to the top end of each strip.

Auf der Karte, die ich Euch heute zeige, wird Kuchen gebacken. Mir ist nämlich eingefallen, dass ich das Just Mitts Stanzenset von WaffleFlower eigentlich mit deren Open Book Trio als Kochbuch kombinieren wollte. Nun, die Ofenhandschuhe waren dann doch zu groß, aber ich habe ja genug anderes passendes im Fundus. Und den habe ich dann ordentlich ausgenutzt um diese Karte zu machen.

On the card I am sharing with you today we're baking some cake. I remembered that I wanted to combine the Just Mitts dies by WaffleFlower with their Open Book Trio set, using it as a cook book. Well, those mitts were too large but I have enough other kitchen related stuff in my stash. And I raided that to make this card.

 

 Ich wollte hier einen Hintergrund, der wie eine gemütliche Küche aussieht. Da ich die Motive meist im Vorfeld coloriere und mich dann um den Hintergrund kümmere, habe ich mich farblich daran orientiert. Auf ein Stück grauen Cardstock habe ich die Küchenfliesen aufgestempelt. Ich habe dafür einen Stempel aus einem Set von BoBunny in zwei Reihen mit grauer Tinte aufgestempelt. Die Ränder der Quadrate habe ich etwas schattiert und auf einige Details des Musters ein klein wenig helles Rot aufgetragen. Dann habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift die Fugen hinzugefügt.

Für die Arbeitsplatte habe ich dann ein Stück Cardstock in einem leicht anderen Grauton gewählt und mit grau-brauner Tinte den Woodgrain Backdrop von LawnFawn aufgestempelt. 

 

I wanted it to look like a scene in a cozy kitchen. I usually color my images first and then take care of the background, so I chose the background colors based on my images.

I stamped the kitchen tiles onto a piece of grey cardstock. I used a stamp from a set by BoBunny here, stamping two rows of it with grey ink. I shaded the edges of each square and added a hint of red to a few of the details in each square. Then I used a white gel pen to add the joints.

For the kitchen counter I picked a piece of a slightly different shade of grey cardstock and stamped the Woodgrain Backdrop by LawnFawn onto it using grey-sih brown ink.

 

 Auf der Küchenarbeitsplatte sieht man dann das übliche Chaos, das beim Backen entsteht. Also zumindest bei mir. Und bei einigen "Küchenartikeln" habe ich dann ziemlich um die Ecke gedacht, um alles so zusammenstellen zu können.

 

On the kitchen counter you can see the usual mess that happens during baking, at least in my house. And with some of the "kitchen stuff" I really had to do some thinking outside the box to make it happen. 

 

 Auf der linken Seite befindet sich das größte der Bücher aus dem Open Book Trio Set von WaffleFloer. Ich habe das Cover aus braunem, die Seiten aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und alles - so wie alle Elemente auf der Karte - mit Copics schattiert. Da ich an dem Tag etwas knapp an Bastelzeit war und es mit den Copics immer noch schneller als mit den Ohuhu-Markern geht, habe ich dazu gegriffen. Allerdings habe ich dabei wieder 3 ausgetrocknete Marker gefunden.... GRRRR. 

Auf das Buch habe ich dann zwei Stempel aus dem Open Book Trio Sentiments Stempelset aufgestempelt. Das Buch sollte aussehen wie eine alte, von Oma handgeschriebene Rezeptsammlung. 

Schüsselstanzen habe ich keine passenden, also habe ich mir anders beholfen. Der Dom-Deckel des Bechers aus dem Set Coffee all Day von MFT passte umgedreht von der Form her perfekt. Und weil es das auch als Mini gab, und  ich beide habe, konnte ich eine große und eine kleine Schüssel gestalten. 

Die Eier sind aus einem Stanzenset von Gummiapan, das einen 6er Eierkarton sowie ein Ei, ein gecracktes Ei und ein eiförmiges Küken enthält. Mit den schwedischen Namen der Sets tu ich mich leider recht schwer. Die Stanze ist auf jeden Fall älter. 

Die Erdbeeren sind aus dem Table AddOn Cake Set von WaffleFlower. Die habe ich aus hellrotem Cardstock gestanzt und mit roter Tinte gewischt. 

Und dann habe ich ein älteres Stanzenset einer Küchenschürze, in der diverse Küchenutensilien enthalten sind. Ich habe keine Verpackung mehr dazu und kann daher nicht sagen, von wem das Set ist. Aus dem sind auf jeden Fall der Schneebesen, der Teigschaber und auch die Measuring Cups, die ich hier hinter dem Buch an die Fliesenwand gehängt habe. 

 

On the left side there's the largest book from Open Book Trio by WaffleFlower. I cut the cover from brown, the pages from white cardstock and shaded them - just like every element on this card - with Copics. I only had a bit of crafting time the day I made this card and I am still a lot faster with my Copics than with the Ohuhu markers. That's why I used those, but again I found 3 almost new but dried out markers.... GRRRR.

I stamped two texts from Open Book Trio Sentiments onto the pages. I wanted the book to look like grandmas handwritter recipe collection.

I didn't have any bowl dies that fit in size. Luckily the dome lid from Coffee All Day by MFT, turned upside down, has the perfect shape. And since it was also brought out as a mini - and I have both sets - I was able to create a small and a large bowl.

The eggs are from a die set by Gummiapan that contains an egg container, an egg, a cracked egg and an egg shaped chicken. I am not able to remember those swedish names, but it's an older die.

The strawberries are from Table AddOn Cake by WaffleFlower. I die cut them from light red cardstock and inked them with red ink and a brush.

And then I have an older die of an apron, that also contains different kitchen items. I don't have the packaging of it anymore and so have no idea who made that die. From this set are the whiskers, the dough scraping thing and also the measuring cups, that I've hung to the wall behind the book.

 

 Hier seht Ihr die größere der beiden Schüsseln, davor das aufgeschlagene Ei und zwei weitere Erdbeeren. In der Schüssel steckt ein Kochlöffel. Der ist, genauso wie die Ofenhandschuhe und der Zuckerstreuer, aus dem Stanzenset mit der Schürze.

Auf der rechten Seite fehlte mir dann noch ein höheres Element, und natürlich wird in Omas Küche ein Gugelhupf gezaubert. Nun, da hatte ich keine Stanze - und weil ich neugierig war, habe ich gegoogelt und konnte auch keine finden. Ich dachte zwar, irgendwann mal irgendwo eine gesehen zu haben, der Kuchen war aber, glaube ich, recht klein. Also war Kreativität gefragt! Ich habe als Basis die Paprika-Stanze aus dem Stitched Garden Veggies Set von LawnFawn aus hellgelbem Cardstock gestanzt und auf den Kopf gedreht. Dann habe ich die leicht schrägen Streifen aus dem Popcorn-Tüte-Set Poppin' Corn von SimonSaysStamp aus dem selben Cardstock gestanzt und alles leicht schattiert. Die Streifen habe ich dann so auf die Paprika geklebt, dass von der Paprika nur oben ein wenig als hinterer Kuchenteil zu sehen ist. Die Teile, die über die Streifen überstehen, habe ich weggeschnitten. Und den Kuchenrand unten habe ich dann einfach von hand geschnitten und aufgeklebt. Auf die colorierten Teile habe ich dann ein klein wenig Distress Ink Vintage Photo aufgespritzt und zum Schluss den Kuchen mit Zucker bestreut. So macht auch der Zuckerstreuer auf der Karte Sinn. Ich habe den Kuchen stellenweise leicht mit Kleber betupft und dann Distress Clear Rock Candy Glitter aufgestreut. 

 

Here you see the larger of the two bowls with the cracked egg and to more strawberries lying in front of it. I've tucked a wooden spoon behind the bowl. This, the oven mitts and the sugar shaker are from the apron die set.

I was missing a taller element on the right side of the card - and of course grandma is making bundt cake in her kitchhen. Well, I didn't  have a die for that - and because I was curious I g..gled for one, but couldn't find any die. I thought I had seen one somewhere some time ago, but, if I remember correctly, this was a lot smaller. So I had to get creative! For the base I cut the bell pepper from Stitched Garden Veggies by LawnFawn from light yellow cardstock and turned it upside down. Then I cut the slanted strips of the popcorn bag die set Poppin' Corn by SimonSaysStamp from the same cardstock and shaded everything slightly. Then I glued those strips onto the bell pepper, leaving only the very top of that visible as the back of the cake. The pepper parts, that were visible on the sides after adhering the strips I just cut off with my scissors. The bottom I just cut by hand and glued it on. I flicked very little of Distress Ink Vintage Photo onto the cake and then covered it with a bit of sugar. This way the sugar shaker makes sense in the scene. I just applied a bit of glue to a few areas of the cake and covered it with Distress Clear Rock Candy glitter.

 

 Ursprünglich wollte ich die Szene dann mit 3D Tape zusammensetzen, habe mich dann aber dagegen entschieden.

Vorne auf die Arbeitsplatte habe ich dann noch den "let's bake the world a better place" aus dem Set A Creature was Stirring von LawnFawn weiß aufembosst. Denn egal wie schwarz alles aussieht, allein der Duft von Omas frisch gebackenem Kuchen lässt es schon etwas rosiger aussehen. Vom Geschmack reden wir dann gar nicht erst. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

Originally I had planned to put the scene together with foam tape, but then decided against it.

I white heat embossed a "let's bake the world a better place" from A Creature was Stirring by LawnFawn onto the counter top. No matter how bad of a day you have, just the scent of grandma's fresh baked cake makes it better. And let's not talk about the taste.

As the last step I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Alles wird gut - mit Pflanzen!

Die Karte, die ich Euch heute zeige, ist für einen Pflanzenliebhaber entstanden, der gerade in Prüfungsvorbereitungen steckt. Und da kann es nicht schaden, zwischendurch mal mit einer Karte "alles wird gut" zu sagen. Auf meiner Karte verbreiten auch die Pflanzen solche Botschaften.

Today's card I made for a plant lover, that's preparing hard for some exams. And in that case it never hurts to let this person know that everything will be fine. On my card also the plants are sending supporting messages. 

 

Hier kamen hauptsächlich die Stempelsets Build a Potted Plant und Plant Picks, beide von MamaElephant, zum Einsatz. Ich war so verliebt in die Botschaften auf den Pflanzensteckern, dass ich einfach nicht widerstehen konnte. Es gibt noch viel mehr solcher Botschaften und ich musste mich wirklich beherrschen, nicht alle auf die Karte packen zu wollen. Da aber alle meine Töchter Pflanzen lieben habe ich bestimmt noch viele Möglichkeiten, die anderen Texte zu benutzen.

Der Hintergrund hier besteht aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks. Ich habe entlang der unteren Kante den Holzfußboden aus dem Set On Solid Ground von MFT aufgestempelt und dafür braune Tinte benutzt. Dann habe ich ihn mit Copics und Polychromos coloriert. 

Die Wand dahinter ist mit dem Small Brick Wall Stencil von MFT gemacht. Ich habe die Mauer etwas fleckig mit Distress Ink Pumice Stone und Hickory Smoke gewischt und dann grau-braune Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt.

 

Here I mainly used the stamp sets Build a Potted Plant and Plant Picks, both by MamaElephant. I fell in love with all the different texts on the picks that I just had  to buy it. There are a lot more of these messages and I had to keep myself from putting all of them onto this card. Luckily all of my daughters love plants and so I will have several more uses for this set - and the other texts. 

The background is made from a piece of white cardstock. I stamped the wooden floor from On Solid Ground by MFT with brown ink onto the bottom, then colored it with Copics and Polychromos. 

The wall behind it is made with the Small Brick Wall stencil by MFT. I inked the wall with Distress Ink Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke, keeping it splotchy on purpose. Then I added splatters with grey-ish brown metallic watercolor. 

 

 Im oberen Bereich der Karte habe ich Regal aufgehängt, das mit Pflanzen und Büchern gefüllt ist. Das Regal habe ich aus silbernem Metallic Cardstock gestanzt und dann das Regalbrett nochmal aus grauem Woodgrain Cardstock von LawnFawn. Dabei habe ich eine Stanze aus dem Laboratory Set von Tim Holtz benutzt.

Die Pflanzen auf dem Regal sind aus verschiedenen Stempelsets verschiedener Hersteller: die beiden höheren aus dem Set Sittin' Pretty von MFT, die kleinere dazwischen aus Coffee Shop House Builder AddOn von HoneyBeeStamps, der kleine Kaktus aus Porcupine for You AddOn von LawnFawn. Und die Hängepflanze an der oberen rechten Ecke der Karte ist aus dem Set Hängen von Create a Smile. Die Bücher auf dem Regal sind aus Bookworm von MamaElephhant. Ich habe alle Stempelmotive der Karte mit dem NoLine Kissen von InkOn3 gestempelt und mit Copics und Polychromos coloriert. Nur für die Pflanzenpicks habe ich schwarze Tinte genommen, damit die Texte gut lesbar sind.  

 

In the upper area of the card I've put up a shelf and put plants and books onto it. The shelf I cut from silver metallic cardstock, then cut just the wooden part again from grey Woodgrain cardstock by LawnFawn. The shelf is from the Laboratory die set by Tim Holtz.

The plants on the board are from different stamp sets and different brands: the two larger ones from Sittin' Pretty by MFT, the smaller one inbetween from Coffee Shop House Builder AddOn by HoneyBeeStamps, the small cactus from Porcupine for You by LawnFawn. And the hanging plant, that I placed in the top right corner of the card, is from Hängen by Create a Smile. The books on the shelf are from Bookworm by MamaElephant. I stamped all the images on the card with NoLine ink by InkOn3 and colored them with Copics and Polychromos. Only for the plant picks I used black ink to make sure the messages are legible.

 

Der untere Bereich der  Karte ist fast komplett mit einer großen Pflanze gefüllt. Die kann mit Stempeln aus dem Set Build a Potted Plant selbst zusammensetzen. Links und rechts des Blumentopfs habe ich noch zwei weitere Bücher, wieder aus dem Set Bookworm, aufgeklebt. Schließlich geht es bei der Karte ums Lernen...

Wie Ihr sicher schon bemerkt habt, ist die Karte eher gedeckt gehalten. Ich wollte tatsächlich, dass das Grün der Pflanzen am meisten ins Auge sticht. 

Links neben der Topfpflanze war dann Platz für meinen Text. Beide Texte - denn eigentlich sind es zwei - sind aus dem Set Keine Sorge von Create a Smile. Ich hatte sie zuerst direkt auf die Mauer gestempelt, da sind sie aber untergegangen. Also habe ich sie nochmal weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und die Textstreifen über die aufgestempelten Texte gesetzt. 

 

The lower area of the card is nearly completly filled with one large plant. You can put that together your own way using stamps from Build a Potted Plant. To the left and right of the flower pot I added two more books, again from Bookworm. After all this card is about preparing for an exam...

I'm sure you've noticed that the colors are pretty subtle. I really wanted the green of the plants be the eyecatchter on the card.

On the left side, next to the large plant, there was room for my sentiment. Both - I combined two texts here to write "everything will be fine - you can do this" - are from Keine Sorge by Create a Smile. I first had stamped them directly onto the wall, but they looked lost. So I white heat embossed them again onto black cadrstock and glued the cardstock strips on top of the stamped texts.

 

 Das Regalbrett habe ich direkt auf die  Mauer geklebt. Die große Pflanze samt Bücher ist mit dünnem, die Textstreifen und die Hängepflanze mit dickem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Als Deko habe ich dann noch drei braune Herzen aufgeklebt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling angebracht.

 

I glued the shelf directly onto the wall. The large plant with the books I backed with thin, the text strips and the hanging plant with thick foam tape. Then I added three small brown clay hearts as decoration. 

As the last step I adhered the card panel to a white note card.

 

Things with Wings die Zweite

Ich weiß nicht, wer von Euch meine Karte für die Things with Wings IG Challenge von SimonSaysStamp gesehen hat. Auf der hatte ich ja in einem absolut durchgeknallten Moment Chicken Wings mit Pommes "serviert". Um nicht den Eindruck zu erwecken, ich würde das alles hier nicht ernst nehmen, habe ich, wie schon angedeutet, noch eine weitere Karte gemacht. Diesmal mit Bienen. Und die zeige ich Euch heute.

I don't know who of you saw my card for the Things with Wings IG Challenge by SimonSaysStamp. On that I had "served" chicken wings with fries. To not make anyone think I don't take all this seriously and as already implied I made a second card for the challenge, this time using bees. And that I am sharing with you today. 

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus weißem Carsdtock, in den ich mittig ein Fenster geschnitten habe. Ich hatte keine passende Stanze, also habe ich den Watercolor Wash Free Form Stencil von MFT mit einem Bleistift auf den Cardstock übertragen, ihn dabei ein wenig verschmälert und dann alles mit der Schere ausgeschnitten.

Hinter dem "Loch" kann man einen Blick in den Bienenstock werfen. Ich habe ein Stück Watercolor Cardstock per Ink Smooshing mit Distress Ink Wild Honey eingefärbt und darüber dann eine weitere Lage hellgelben Cardstocks gelegt. Aus dem habe ich den Save the Bees Hintergrund von ModaScrap ausgestanzt. Die Stanze lässt zwischendrin immer wieder mal ein Sechseck stehen. Auf die habe ich dann Sechsecke aus orange-holographischem Spiegel-Cardstock gesetzt, die ich ebenfalls mit der Stanze ausgestanzt habe.  

 

The background is made from white cardstock, that I cut a window into the center. I didn't have a die the shape I had in mind so I traced the Watercolor Wash Free Form stencil by MFT onto the cardstock, making it a bit narrower, and then cut it out with my scissors. 

Behind the "hole" you get a glimpse of the bee hive. I did some ink smooshing with Distress Ink Wild Honey to color a piece of watercolor cardstock. On top I put a layer of light yellow cardstock, that I cut the Save the Bees die by ModaScrap from. This die does not cut out all the hexagons but leaves a few areas uncut. Onto those I glued some hexagons that I cut from orange-holographic mirror cardstock using the same die.

 

Hauptelement meiner Karte sind natürlich die beiden Bienen. Die sind aus dem Set Sweet Bee von Impronte d'Autore. Ich habe sie mit dem No-Line Ink Kissen von InkOn3 abgestempelt und mit Ohuhu Markern und Polychromos coloriert. 

Der Biene hier am oberen Rand der Karte habe ich noch einen Partyhut aufgesetzt. Den trägt eigentlich die Katze aus dem Party Time Set. Er war der Biene ein wenig zu weit, aber dank des No-Line Colorings konnte ich ihn ganz einfach etwas schmäler machen.

 

Main element on my card are the two bees. They are from Sweet Bee by Impronte d'Autore. I stamped them with the No-Line in pad by InkOn3 and colored them with Ohuhu markers and Polychromos.  

I added a party hat to the bee here at the top of the card. Originally this is worn by the cat from Party Time and was a bit too wide for the bee. But thanks to the no-line coloring it was very easy to make it a bit smaller to fit the bee.

 

 Der Biene unten auf der Karte habe ich einen Luftballon in die Hand gegeben. Die Flügel der Bienen sind ein wenig mit Stickles beglittert. 

Zwischen die beiden Bienen habe ich dann meinen Text gesetzt - auch er ist aus dem Set Sweet Bee. Das Wort "bee" hat eigentlich am Anfang und Ende längere Schnörkel, aber so hätte ich nicht alle Textteile auf der Karte untergebracht. Also habe ich die beim Abstempeln etwas gekürzt. Ich habe alle Texte weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und ausgeschnitten. Dann habe ich sie mittig auf die Bienenwaben geklebt.

 

The bee at the bottom of the card is holding a balloon. I applied a bit of Stickles to the bees' wings.

Between the two bees I placed my sentiment - it's again from Sweet Bee. The word "bee" has some longer flourishs at the beginning and end, but like this I wouldn't have been able to fit all the text elements on the card. So I made those flourishs shorter when stamping the word. I white heat embossed all the text elements onto black cardstock and cut them out. Then I adhered them onto the bees wax.

 

 Beim Zusammenkleben habe ich jeweils dünnes 3D Tape hinter die Waben, den weißen Cardstock mit Loch und auch die Bienen gesetzt.

Als Deko habe ich dann einige weiße Blümchen und Blätter um das Loch herum verteilt. Die Blumen sind mit der Blumen Stanze von Create a Smile, die Blätter mit einer Stanze von CC Designs gemacht. Als Blumenmitten habe ich kleine goldene Perlen verwendet und einige davon auch drumherum verteilt. Außerdem habe ich mit einem schwarzen Fineliner einen Rahmen aufgemalt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

When putting the card together I backed the hexagon layer, the white cardstock with the hole and the bees with thin faom tape.

As decoration I added some white flowers and leaves around the hole. The flowers are made using the Blumen die by Create a Smile, the leaves with a die by CC Designs. I used small  gold pearls as flower centers and scattered a few more around the hole. I also drew a frame with a black finerliner onto the white cardstock.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Geburtstags-Chaos oder so....

Auf der Geburtstagskarte, die ich Euch heute zeige, ist wahnsinnig viel los. Und das, obwohl ich (außer dem Text) nur zwei Stanzensets dafür benutzt habe. Aber irgendwie wollte ich alles auf einmal einbauen und so sieht die Karte nun ein wenig so aus, als hätte jemand gerade die Torte fertiggestellt und alles für die Partydeko bereit gelegt, als das Telefon klingelte... Ich mag sie trotzdem, irgendwie.

There's a lot going on on the birthday card, that I'm sharing with you today. Besides the text I only used two die sets for it, but - as AmyR always puts it - I wanted to use "everything but the kitchen sink". Now the card looks like someone just finished the cake and brought everything for the party decorations out when the telephone rang... I still like it, somehow.

 

Als wie wenn nicht schon genug los wäre auf der Karte, habe ich für den Hintergrund ganz klein kariertes Designpapier in weiß und hellorange benutzt. Das erinnerte mich irgendwie an eine Tischdecke. 

 

As if there wasn't enough going on already on this card I used some checked patterned paper in white and light orange for the background. It reminds me of a table cloth. 

 

 Im Mittelpunkt der Karte steht die Geburtstagstorte. Die ist aus dem Set Table AddOn Cake von WaffleFlower.

Ich habe den Teller aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock, den Kuchen aus hellbraunem und die Sahnetupfen aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Der Kuchen besteht aus drei, die Sahne aus zwei Lagen. Ich habe den Kuchen mit etwas Distress Ink gewischt und ihm mit einem farblich fast identischen Fineliner etwas Struktur gegeben. Die Sahnetupfen habe ich mit Ohuhu-Markern etwas schattiert. 

In die Mitte des Kuchens habe ich ein "make a wish" aus dem Postage Collage Piped Letters von WaffleFlower aufembosst. Außerdem habe ich die Torte mit ein paar Erdbeeren, ebenfalls aus dem Table AddOn Cake Set, dekoriert. Die habe ich aus hellrotem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Abandoned Coral gewischt. 

Unter dem Kuchen befinden sich zwei Ofenhandschuhe. Die sind mit dem Just Mitts Set, ebenfalls von WaffleFlower gemacht. Ich habe sie aus hellrotem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Abandoned Coral und Barn Door gewischt. Dann habe ich das weiße Herz aufgeklebt und die Handschuhe nochmal mit der Stanze durch die Big Shot gedreht, so dass auch die Herzen ein Nahtmuster haben. 

 

In the center of the card there's the birthday cake. I made that using the Table AddOn Cake set by WaffleFlower.

I die cut the plate from matte silver metallic carsdtock, the cake from light brown and the cream puffs from white cardstock. The cake is built from three, the cream from two layers. 

I inked the cake with some Distress Inks and used a nearly identical colored fineliner to add some texture to it. The cream I shaded lightly with Ohuhu markers.

Onto the center of the cake I white heat embossed a "make a whish" from Postage Collage Piped Letters by WaffleFlower. I also decorated the cake with some strawberries, again from Table AddOn Cake. I cut those from light red cardstock and shaded them with Distress Ink Abandoned Coral.

Under the cake I put two oven mitts. These are made with the Just Mitts set by WaffleFlower. I die cut them from light red cardstock again and shaded them with Abandoned Coral and Barn Door. I glued the white hearts onto them and then put the mitts back into the die and ran them through the Big Shot again to have the stitched details on the hearts, too.

 

Oben links über dem Kuchen habe ich dann meinen Text aufgeklebt. Das Sweet ist mit dem Piped Sentiments Sweet von TheGreetery gemacht. Ich habe zwei weiße Lagen aufeinander geklebt und dann etwas versetzt eine weitere Lage, gestanzt aus rotem Spiegelcardstock, dahintergesetzt. 

Da mir das Wort etwas zu hoch war, habe ich die unteren Schnörkel mit der Schere weggeschnitten. 

Ergänzt habe ich den Text dann mit einem "birthday wishes" aus dem Bitty Birthday Wishes Set von MFT. Das habe ich weiß auf hellroten Cardstock embosst und den Cardstock dann von unten her wieder ein wenig mit Abandoned Coral schattiert.

 

To the top left of the cake I added the sentiment. I made the Sweet using the Piped Sentiments Sweet by TheGreetery. I stacked two layers of white cardstock and then put another layer, cut from red mirror cardstock, behind it a bit offset. 

The word was a bit too tall for my card so I used my scissors to cut off the flourishes at the bottom.

I finished the sentiment with a "birthday wishes" from Bitty Birthday Wishes by MFT. I white heat embossed it onto light red cardstock and then shaded it lightly with Abandoned Coral again.

 

 Im unteren Bereich der Karte habe ich dann weitere Erdbeeren, Luftschlangen, Geburtstagskerzen und ein Luftballon-Tier aufgeklebt. Alle diese Elemente sind wieder aus dem Table AddOn Cake Set.

Die Luftschlangen habe ich aus rotem Spiegel-Cardstock und normalem schwarzen Cardstock gestanzt. Die roten Teile habe ich dann mit der Schere so zugeschnitten, dass sie nach dem Aufkleben auf die schwarzen wie die Vorderseite der Luftschlangen aussehen - den roten Spiegelcarsdstock konnte ich ja leider nicht mit Markern schattiern. Die Details auf den diversen Stanzteilen sind mit einem weißen Gelstift gemacht. 

Auch im oberen Bereich der Karte habe ich einige Luftschlangen aufgeklebt.

Und hier unten befindet sich dann auch noch ein Spritzbeutel. Der ist aus dem Baked with Love Set von LawnFawn und in NoLine Technik coloriert. Der musste mit auf die Karte. Eigentlich ist im Postage Collage Piped Letters  Set ein Spritzbeutel enthalten, der war mir aber ein wenig zu klein für meine Karte. 

 

In the lower half of the card I added some more strawberries, streamers, birthday candles and a balloon animal. All these elements come again in the Table AddOn Cake set. 

I die cut the streamers from red mirror cardstock and normal black cardstock. I then cut the red ones into pieces, after glueing those to the black streamers it looks like red it the outside color. I had to do it this way because I couldn't shade the mirror cardstock. For the details on some of the die cuts I used a white gel pen.

I added some streamers to the top area of the card, too.

And down here there's also a piping bag. It's from Baked with Love by LawnFawn and colored in NoLine technique. I really wanted to have one on my card. There is one included in the Postage Collage Piped Letters set but it was a bit too small for my scene.

 

 Um zumindest rund um den Kuchen den Hintergrund etwas abzuschwächen, habe ich eines der Stitched Scallops von TheGreetery aus Vellum gestanzt. Darauf habe ich die Deko mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt und das dann auch verwendet, um das Vellum auf dem Hintergrund zu befestigen. 

Zu mSchluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

To tone the background down around the cake I die cut one of the Stitched Scallops by TheGreetery from vellum. I used thin foam tape to adhere the die cuts to it and then glued it with more thin foam tape onto the background.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.
