Ich finde eine der - vielen - schönen Seiten am Kartenbasteln ist, dass man die Karte ganz auf den Empfänger abstimmen kann. Und so ist auch diese Karte für eine Kollegin, die die Dienststelle wechselt, ganz zu ihr passend gestaltet.

One of the - many - wonderful sides of cardmaking is, that you can each card make fit personally to the recipient. That's what I did here, too, that I made for a co-worker that's switching to a different office. 

 

Ich habe hier eine schön altmodische Pinnwand gestaltet. 

Aus dunkelbraunem Woodgrain Cardstock von LawnFawn habe ich die vier Rahmenteile ausgestanzt. Dafür habe ich ein Stanzenset von Action benutzt und die einzelnen Teile per Partial Diecutting so verlängert, dass sie die komplette Kartengröße ausfüllen. Mit meinem Finger habe ich dann etwas weiße Stempelfarbe auf den Rahmen aufgetupft, um das Holzmuster besser hervorzuheben.

Für den Korkteil der Pinnwand habe ich dünnes Kork mit selbstklebender Rückseite genommen. Das habe ich seit Jahren und jetzt kam es endlich zum Einsatz. 

 

I created a pretty outdated pinnboard  as my card.

I die cut four frame pieces from LawnFawn's dark brown Woodgrain cardstock using a die set by Action. To make the frame pieces long enough I did some partial diecutting. I dabbed some white pigment ink onto the frame using my fingers, to bring out the wood pattern more.

For the cork part I used some thin real cork with adhesive on the back. I have had this since years and now finally am using some of it.

 

 Aus der Pinnwand habe ich die Buchstaben für den Haupttext der Karte ausgestanzt. Für das "mach's" kam ein altes Stanzenset von Whiff of Joy, für das "gut!" das Impact Alphabet Set von MFT zum Einsatz. Beides passte einach schön zusammen. 

Hinter die ausgestanzten Buchstaben habe ich dann roten Cardstock geklebt und außerdem einen Buchstaben-Schatten auf die Pinnwand gemalt. 

Später hat mir der Rotton hinter den Buchstaben nicht mehr gefallen, also habe ich sie mit Glossy Accents gefüllt.

 

I die cut the letters for my main text from the cork. I used an old die set by Whiff of Joy to create the word "mach's" and the Impact Alphabet by MFT for the "gut!" . The two worked really well together. Now the text means "farewell". 

I glued some red cardstock behind the cut out letters and also drew a shadow next to each letter onto the cork.

Later I didn't like the tone of red I had put behind the letters so I simply filled them with Glossy Accents.

 

 Und überall auf der Karte habe ich dann kleine Zettel verteilt, die natürlich mit einem Pin befestigt sind. Der ist aus dem Photo Collage Pop-Up Set von Karen Burniston. 

Nun mag es auf den ersten Moment vielleicht nicht so wirken, als würde es uns schwer fallen, die Kollegin gehen zu lassen - die Texte wirken ja nicht gerade herzlich. Aber es ist tatsächlich so, dass ich fast jeden Tag, wenn ich mittags das Büro verlasse, von ihr mit einem dieser Sprüche verabschiedet werde.  Und das macht die Karte dann doch wieder sehr persönlich. Ich habe die Texte am PC geschrieben, ausgedruckt und auf hellgelben Cardstock geklebt. Dann habe ich auch das weiße Kopierpapier gelb angemalt. 

Die Texte habe ich auf den Kork geklebt und jeweils einen Pin dazugeklebt.

Und den Punkt unter dem Ausrufzeichen habe ich dann noch durch einen Küsschen-Smilie ersetzt.  Der ist aus einem ebenfalls alten Stanzenset von Spellbinders und eigentlich hatte ich es schon aussortiert. Aber dann habe ich es doch wieder hervorgeholt und hier benutzt. 

 

And all over the card I placed little yellow notes, of course using a pin to  stick them to the board. Those pins are from Photo Collage Pop-Up by Karen Burniston.

Onto the little notes I wrote all kinds of funny ways to say "bye" - and she uses one of them each day, when I leave work, to greet me off. So this makes this card pretty personal. I wrote those texts on my computer and printed them on copy paper. Then I glued them onto yellow cardstock and colored the copy paper yellow. 

I glued the little notes to the cork and glued a pin to each note. 

I replaced the dot under the exclamation mark with a kissie face smilie. That's from an - again very old - die set by Spellbinders and I already had purged it, at least putting it out of my room. But I just had to go and bring it back into my room and use it here.

 

 Den Rahmen habe ich mit 3D Tape auf den Kork geklebt, der Smilie ist mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Und die Ender der kleinen Notizen habe ich jeweils leicht nach oben gebogen. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered foam tape to adhere the frame to the cork and also backed the smilie with it. The ends of each sticky note I slightly bent up.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

Ich liebe ja interaktive Karten. Als ich dann die Big Mouth Slider Stanze von HeroArts sowie die passende Nussknacker-Ergänzung gesehen habe, war ich sehr angetan. Zuerst konnte ich noch widerstehen  - wie oft macht man jetzt eine Nussknackerkarte? - aber je mehr ich darüber nachdachte, desto mehr Ideen kamen mir. Und weil man dann Teile des Nussknackers auch gut für andere Karten benutzen kann, habe ich mir das Bundle bestellt. 

Heute habe ich eine Art Prototyp damit zu zeien, den ich gemacht habe, um zu sehen, ob meine Idee funktioniert. Und wenn schon, dann machen wir doch gleich nicht nur eine sondern zwei Designvarianten, oder?

I love interactive cards. When I saw the Big Mouth Slider die and the matching nutcracker Add-On by HeroArts I was really intrigued. At first I was able to hold back - how many nutcracker cards do you make each year? - but the more I thought about it the more ideas I had. And since those nutcracker details might come in really handy here I ordered the bundle.

Today I am sharing with you some kind of test card that I made to see if my idea works. And while I'm at it why not make two instead of one versions, right?

 

 Darf ich vorstellen: Frankenstein. Ja, ich weiß, so richtig perfekt ist er vom Design her nicht geworden, das ist aber auch ein wenig im Mechanismus der Stanze begründet. Und hey, wer hat eigentlich gesagt, dass Frankenstein super wohl-proportioniert war? 

Ich habe hier die Karte aus grünem Cardstock gewerkelt, den ich mit etwas Distress Ink Mowed Lawn und Rustic Wilderness gewischt habe. 

Den Körper des Nussknackers habe ich aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Antique Linen gewischt. Dann habe ich den unteren Teil der Arme abgeschnitten und alles mit einem grünen Stanzteil hinterlegt, so dass es aussieht wie ein T-Shirt. Auf dem habe ich dann noch einige braune Flicken verteilt. 

Die Haare habe ich frei Hand mit der Schere aus schwarzem Cardstock  geschnitten.  

Und das Gesicht ist mit Stanzen aus dem Big Mouth Nutcracker Set entstanden. Ich habe die ovalen Kreise für die Pupillen zusätzlich aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt und damit die Nasenflügel gestaltet. Außerdem habe ich die großen Kreise für die Backen ebenfalls aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt, halbiert und als Augenlider aufgeklebt. Die aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzten Augenbrauen habe ich bewusst vertauscht aufgeklebt, so passten sie hier einfach besser.

Mit roter Kreide habe ich Bäckchen aufgetragen und mit Copics die klassischen Narben sowie ein paar Falten unter den Augen aufgemalt.

Auf die Zähne habe ich mit einem silbernen Gelstift eine Zahnspange aufgemalt. Die Schrauben seitlich am Kopf sind eigentlich T, die ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt und gedreht angeklebt habe. 

Und dann brauchte die Karte noch einen Tab für den Ziehmechanismus. Beim Nussknacker ist das der Bart, der passt aber nicht zu Frankenstein. Also habe ich ihm eine große rote Zunge angeklebt, die er ganz frech weit herauszustrecken scheint. Ich habe sie einfach frei Hand geschnitten und mit Copics etwas schattiert. 

Zieht man am Tab, dann öffnet sich der Mund und ein Text oder kleineres Motiv kommt zum Vorschein. Zumindest ist das, wie die Stanze gemacht ist. Aber hier kommt meine Idee ins Spiel. 

 

May I introduce you to Mr. Frankenstein? Yes, I know, he's not really perfect designwise, but that's also because of the mechanism included here. And hey, who said Mr. Frankenstein is that well-proportioned?

I created the card from green cardstock that I inked with Distress Ink Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. 

I die cut the body from the nutcracker set from cream cardstock and inked it with Antique Linen. Then I cut off the bottom of the arms and put a green die cut behind it. Now it looks like Mr. Frankenstein is wearing a shirt with short sleeves. I also added some brown patches to the shirt.

The hair I cut free hand from black cardstock with my scissors.  

And the face I created using elements from the Big Mouth Nutcracker set. I die cut the ovals for the eyes again from green cardstock and used them to create the nostrils. I also die cut the larger circles, that are meant to be the cheeks, from green cardstock, cut them in half und created some eyelids from them. The eyebrows, that I cut from black cardstock, I glued on switched on purpose, that just fit Mr. Frankenstein better. 

I added some red cheeks with chalk and added the scars and a few wrinkles under the eyes with green Copics.

With a silver gel pen I drew braces onto the teeth. The screws at the side of the head are made using a T letter die, cutting it twice from matte silver metallic cardstock and glueing them on turned sideways. 

And then the card needed a pull tab for the mechanism. With the nutcracker his beard is used as the tab but that doesn't go with Mr. Frankenstein. So I created a large red tongue, that he's sticking out at us. I cut it free hand again and shaded it with Copics.

 When you pull the tab the mouth opens and reveals a sentiment or smaller image. At least that's how the die is designed. But here's where my idea comes in play: 

 

 Auch hier öffnet sich Frankensteins Mund, wenn man an der Zunge zieht. Aber im Mund hat er dann etwas Süßes versteckt! Ich glaube, das ist eine wirklich süße und auch kreative Idee, um eine Halloween-Süßigkeit zu verpacken. Ich hatte nichts anderes da, also habe ich ein Tütchen Gummibärcheni im Mund versteckt. 

Tja, und wie habe ich das jetzt gemacht? Ich habe in Fenster in den Cardstock hinter dem Mechanismus geschnitten, genau dort, wo sich der Mund öffnet. Dahinter befindet sich eine kleine, oben offene Box. Die ist hier nur 1cm hoch und das reicht vollkommen für die kleinen Gummibärchen. Die Box hat seitlich Laschen, mit denen ich sie hinter dem Ausschnitt befestigt habe. 

 

Also on my card the mouth opens when you pull Mr. Frankenstein's tongue. But he has some candy hidden in his mouth! I think, that's  a cute and creative idea to warp up some Halloween candy. I didn't have anything at hand so I used a small bag of gummybears here.

And how did I do that? I cut a window into the cardstock behind the mechanism, right where the mouth opens. Behind that there's a small box with an open top. It's only 1 cm in height but that's enough for those gummy candy. I created some flaps at the sides of the box and used those to glue the box behind/around the window. 

 

 Und damit die "Karte" auch nach dem Herausnehmen der Süßigkeiten noch gut aussieht, habe ich in den Mund einen Halloweengruß gestempelt. Der ist aus dem Set Ghostly Greetings von MFT und weiß embosst. Die Box, in der sich die Süßigkeit befindet und die nun hier sichtbar ist, habe ich aus rotem Cardstock gemacht und mit Copics leicht schattiert. 

 

And to make the "card" look nice even after taking out the candy I stamped a Halloween greeting into the mouth. It's rom Ghostly Greetings by MFT and white heat embossed. The box, that I put the candy in and that's visible in the mouth window here, I made from red cardstock and shaded it with lightly with Copics.

 

 

Und hier habe ich noch eine Mumien-Variante.

Hier habe ich alle Teile aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Auf die obersten Lagen habe ich dann mit der Mummy Wrap Stencil von SimonSaysStamp und Distress Ink Antique Linen und Frayed Burlap Mumien-Streifen aufgewischt. Der Stencil ist im Slimline-Format und hat meine Kartenfront nicht komplett abgedeckt. Also habe ich sie seitlich nochmal angesetzt. Man sieht die Ränder etwas, aber bei einer Mumie ist das wohl nicht so schlimm. Anschließend habe ich braune Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Einige der Felder im Muster habe ich herausgeschnitten und die Bereiche dahinter mit Copics grünlich coloriert, so als würde hier die Haut der Mumie zu sehen sein. 

Die Augen bestehen aus zwei Kreisen, die ich mit Copics coloriert habe. Auf die Augäpfel habe ich dann mit einem roten Fineliner einige Adern aufgemalt. 

Da ich einen Pull Tab brauchte, kam mir die Idee, hier ein Stück der Bandagen der Mumie zu benutzen. Aus Papier sah das aber doch sehr eigenartig aus. Also habe ich weißes Band mit Antique Linen und Frayed Burlap betupft, die Ränder mit den Fingernägeln aufgeribbelt und mittig einen Knoten gemacht. Den habe ich dann auf die "Klappe" geklebt. Und damit das nicht das einzige Stück Band ist, habe ich noch ein paar Stücke um die Karte gewickelt. Das Band ist übrigens ein Nahtband aus meinem Näh-Fundus. 

 

And then I made a mummy version.

I die cut all pieces from white cardstock. Then I used the Mummy Wrap stencil by SimonSaysStamp and Distress Ink Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap to stencil some mummy stripes to the top layers. The stencil has a slimline size so it didn't cover my whole card front. So I tried to line up the stencil at the sides again as good as possible. You can see the seams a bit but I don't really mind here with the mummy. I then splattered brown Metallic-Watercolor onto the cardstock pieces.

I used a cutter to cut out some pieces from the mummy wrap and colored the areas behind it in a green-ish tone using my Copics, just like the mummy's skin is visible here.

The eyes I made from two circles that I colored with Copics, too. I added a few fine veins using a red fineliner.

Since I needed a pull tab I had the idea of using some kind of loose mummy wrap. But when I tried to make it from paper it looked kind of strange. So I dabbed some Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap onto some white ribbon, opened the edges with my fingernails and tied a knot in the center. This knot I glued onto the slider. To make sure that's not the only ribbon on the card I wrapped a few more pieces around the front. This ribbon is some kind of seam ribbon that I pulled from my sewing stuff.

 

 Auch hier befindet sich hinter dem Slider eine kleine Box, in die natürlich wieder etwas Süßes passt. Das Foto damit habe ich mir hier aber gespart.

Die Box habe ich diesmal aus grünem Cardstock gemacht und wieder mit Copics schattiert. Dann habe ich ein Peek-a-Boo aus dem Halloween Mice Stempelset von Impronte d'Autore weiß auf den Boden der Box embosst.

 

And again there's a little box behind the slider in which you can put some candy. I skipped taking a picture with the candy in, tough.

Here I made the box from green cardstock and shaded it with Copics. Then I white heat embossed a Peek-a-Boo from Halloween Mice by Impronte d'Autore  onto the bottom of the box.

 

Wake me when it's Halloween

Auf meiner heutigen Karte für das WhimsyStamps Halloweeners Team sieht man eine kleine Fledermaus, die die Spannung bis Halloween einfach nicht mehr ausgehalten hat. Sie hat sich bereits schick gemacht und nach einem letzten prüfenden Blick in den Spiegel einfach beschlossen, bis Halloween ein Nickerchen zu machen. Im Schlaf vergeht die Zeit ja bekanntlich am schnellsten...

On the card that I  made for the WhimsyStamps Halloweeners Team today you see a little bat, that just couldn't stand waiting for Halloween anymore. She is already all dressed up and after one last check in the mirror, she decided to simply sleep until Halloween is finally here. We all know that time passes the quickest when we are sleeping...

 

Ich habe ja so einige Distress Spray Stains, aber irgendwie hole ich die immer nur zu Halloween hervor. So auch hier. Ich habe ein Stück weißen Cardstocks erst mit Distress Ink Milled Lavender gewischt und dann Villainous Potion und Black Soot Spray Stain aufgesprüht. Von dem Milled Lavender sieht man nicht mehr viel, aber an ein paar kleinen Ecken lugt es noch hervor.

Auf den getrockneten Cardstock habe ich dann hell-lila Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt. 

Über die Ecken des Cardstocks habe ich dann zwei Spinnennetze gespannt. Ich habe sie mit Stanzen aus dem Set Spiders and Webs aus Vellum gestanzt, auf die Ecke gelegt und die überstehenden Ecken nach hinten umgeschlagen. Dort habe ich sie dann festgeklebt - und so sieht man durch das Vellum keinen Kleber. 

 

I habe quite a few Distress Spray  Stains, but I only use them during Halloween season. And I also did here. I inked a piece of white cardstock with Distress Ink Milled Lavender, then spritzed Spray Stain Villainous Potion und Black Soot onto it. There isn't much visible of the Milled Lavender anymore, but there are a few small spots, where you can see it.

I splattered light purple metallic watercolor onto the dried background.

Then I covered two corners of the cardstock with spider webs. I made these using dies from Spiders and Webs and cut them from vellum. I placed the spider webs onto the corners and folded over the overhanging parts. Those I glued to the back of the cardstock. This is a simple trick to avoid that any glue is visible through the vellum.

 

 Die komplette Kartenidee startete mit dem Thorny Frame. Und weil er mich an einen alten, schnörkeligen Spiegel-/Bilderrahmen erinnerte, kam mir die Idee für diese Karte. 

Ich habe den Thorny Frame aus Anthracite Stardream Metallic Cardstock von Cardstock Warehouse gestanzt. Das Tolle an dem Papier ist nicht nur, dass es super stabil ist - es hat auch einen metallischen Schimmer. Der passte hier natürlich perfekt - und zu Halloween an sich erst recht!

Nach dem Ausstanzen habe ich mit dem Finger etwas silbernes Gilding Wax auf die Ränder des Rahmens getupft und dann silbernen Spiegel-Cardstock hinter den Rahmen geklebt. Ich habe schwarzes 3D Tape dafür benutzt.

Im Spiegel hängt die kleine Fledermaus. Sie ist aus dem Set Cutie Batootie und wirklich zauberhaft. Ich habe sie mit Copics coloriert und mit der Schere ausgschnitten. Und weil die Fledermaus für mich irgendwie nach einem Mädchen aussah, habe ich sie mit einer Blume samt kleinem Herz geschmückt, die sie sich hinters Ohr gesteckt hat. Ja, auch Fledermaus-Mädchen wollen schön sein!

Außerdem habe ich die Umrisse des Motivs ein weiteres Mal aus schwarzem Cardstock geschnitten. Den schwarzen Cardstock habe ich dann direkt auf den Spiegel-Cardstock und darauf dann, leicht versetzt, die kleine Fledermaus mit dünnem 3D Tape befestigt. Der schwarze Schatten sieht so aus, als würde man die Fledermaus von hinten im Spiegel sehen. Und das macht auch den Spiegel-Look realistischer.

 Ebenfalls aus dem Set Cutie Batootie ist das leise Schnarchen... Ich habe die "z z z" weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

 

The whole idea for this card started with the Thorny Frame die. and since it reminded me of an old, flourished picture/mirror frame, I got the idea for this card.

I die cut the Thorny Frame from Anthracite Stardream Metallic cardstock by Cardstock Warehouse. It's not only wonderfully thick, it also has a metallic shimmer. That was perfect for my card - and Halloween in generall!

After cutting the frame out I dabbed some silver gilding wax onto the edges, simply using my fingers. Then I glued soe silver mirror cardstock behind the frame using black foam tape.

Inside the mirror frame is hanging the little bat from Cutie Batootie - and she is a real beauty! I colored her with Copics and cut her out with my scissors. And since she just looked like a little bat girl to me I dressed her up with a flower and small heart, that glued to her ear. Yes, even those little bat girls want to look pretty!

I also cut the shape of the image again from black cardstock. I glued that directly onto the mirror cardstock and then glued the image on top with thin foam tape, setting it a bit off. The black shadow looks like you are seeing the bat's back in the mirror. And it also makes the look of the mirror more realistic.  

 

 Nun brauchte meine Karte noch einen Text - und der soll sicherstellen, dass die kleine Fledermaus Halloween nicht verschläft!

Also habe ich mich für "wake me when it's Halloween" entschieden. Der Text ist so im Cutie Batootie Set enthalten, allerdings habe ich hier das gestempelte Halloween durch ein gestanztes aus dem Happy Halloween Word Set ersetzt. 

Den gestempelten Text habe ich wieder weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Das "Halloween" habe ich einmal aus weißem Cardstock und einmal aus lilafarbenem Schimmer-Cardstock, den ich noch in meiner Schublade gefunden habe, gestanzt und beides leicht versetzt aufeinander geklebt. Mit dem selben lilafarbenen Cardstock habe ich auch den weiß embossten Text hinterlegt und dann beides quer über den unteren Teil des Spiegels geklebt.

 

Now my card just needed a text- and it has to make sure that the little bat doesn't miss Halloween!

I went with a "wake me when it's Halloween". The text is included in the Cutie Batootie set, but I replaced the stamped word Halloween with a die cut one from Happy Halloween Word die set. 

I white heat embossed the stamped part onto black cardstock. The "Halloween" I die cut once from white cardstock and once from purple shimmer cardstock, that I found in my drawer. I stacked those two die cut words and used the same purple cardstock to mat the white heat embossed text. Then I glued both texts across the bottom of my mirror.

 

 

 Hinter dem Spiegel habe ich ein Stück silberne Schnur befestigt und damit oben eine Schlaufe geformt. Die habe ich dann über einen nagelförmigen Brad, den ich oben durch den Hintergrund gesteckt habe, gehängt. 

Den Spiegel samt Deko habe ich dann mit dünnem 3D Tape auf dem Hintergrund festgeklebt. Und weil das eine Blümche an der Fledermaus etwas fad aussah, habe ich noch zwei weitere unter den Text geschoben. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I attached a piece of silver twine behind the mirror and created a loop at the top. I used that to hang up the mirror, putting the loop over a nail shaped brad, that I put through the top of my background.

I used thin foam tape to adhere the mirror and all the elements attached to it to the background. And since just that one flower at the bat's ear looked a bit  sad I added  two more, tucking them under the text. 

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

SimonSaysStamp IG challenge

Auch diesen Monat gibt es eine Instagram Challenge von SimonSaysStamp. Und weil Stamptember ist, lautet das Thema ganz einfach "Stempel". Na, da sind die Möglichkeiten ja endlos - und im Prinzip könnte ich fast jede meiner Karten diesen Monat einreichen. Aber ich empfinde das irgendwie immer als Cheaten und habe somit extra eine Karte nur für die Challenge gemacht.

Also this month there is an Instagram challenge by SimonSaysStamp. And since it's Stamptember they simply picked "stamps" as the theme. Well, that leaves endless possibilities - and I could simply enter with nearly any card I made  this month. But to me that alsways feels like cheating and so I made an extra card, just for the challenge.

 

Ihr habt es bestimmt schon bemerkt, hier kam wieder der große Kürbis-Hintergrund von SimonSaysStamp zum Einsatz. Ich glaube, der kam letztes Jahr heraus und ich war sofort verliebt. Er war dann aber ausverkauft und mit den doch längeren Versandzeiten aus den USA war mir, als er dann wieder auf Lager war, einfach nicht mehr nach herbstlichem Basteln. Dieses Jahr habe ich ihn mir dann rechtzeitig bestellt und jetzt will er natürlich benutzt werden!

Ich habe hier den Hintergrund gold auf ein Stück Watercolor Cardstock  embosst und dann alles ganz grob mit Distress Ink Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire und ein wenig Fired Brick gewischt. Und dann habe ich alles dick mit Wasser besprüht. Ich bin ja nicht der Typ für so "unkontrollierbare" Techniken, aber ich war doch versucht und mit dem Ergebnis nach dem Trocknen war ich an sich recht zufrieden. 

 

You may have already noticed - I used the large pumpkin background by SimonSaysStamp again. I think, it was released last fall and I fell in love immediately. But it was sold out and - with shipping from the States taking quite some time - I didn't feel like fall crafting anymore once it was back in stock. This year I ordered it in time and now it wants to get used!

I gold heat embossed the image onto a piece of watercolor cardstock and put some Distress Ink Wild Honey, Cracking Campfire and a bit of Fired Brick onto each pumpkin, not really taking care about blending. Then I sprayed a lot of water on top. I am usually not one for those "uncontrollable" techniques but I was tempted to try it again and, once everything had dried, was quite happy with the result.  

 

 Ich wollte meinem Hintergrund dann doch noch etwas mehr Tiefe geben, außerdem waren auch die Kürbis-Stiele orange. Also habe ich sie mit Polychromos braun eingefärbt und verschiedene Orange- und Gelbtöne sowie weiß benutzt, um Details auf die Kürbisse aufzumalen. 

Dann habe ich goldene Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt.

 

I  wanted to give my  background more depth, and the pumpkin stems were orange, too. So I used my Polychromos to color them brown and used different shades of orange and yellow and also some white to add details to the pumpkins.

Then I splattered some gold metallic watercolor onto the background.

 

 Ziemlich weit unten, etwa mittig, befindet sich im Kürbisfeld, das übrigens eigentlich 15 x 15 cm groß und mit Rahmen ist, ein dicker Kürbis. Dem habe ich dann noch einen Hexenhut aufgesetzt. 

Der Hexenhut ist mit dem Stanzenset Sassy Witch Hat von SimonSaysStamp gemacht. Ich habe ihn aus braunem Cardstock, die umgeschlagene Krempe und das Band aus gelb-braunem Cardstock und die Schleife aus goldenem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt. Die Teile sind alle mit Copics schattiert. 

Und weil der Hexenhut viel zu gepflegt aussah, habe ich noch drei kleine Spinnen angebracht. Die sind aus dem Set Boo von WaffleFlower und ich weiß, dass sie vom Design her ein Stilbruch sind. Aber ich fand sie einfach super süß und sie geben der Karte etwas verspieltes. Den Spinnenfaden, an dem die Spinne hängt, habe ich mit einem goldenen Gelstift nachgemalt. 

Der Text auf der Karte ist wieder aus dem Set Pumpkin to talk About. Ich habe den Stempel zerschnitten um das What's über statt vor das Cooking setzen zu können und den Text dann weiß auf Vellum embosst. Dann habe ich ihn mit einem der Essential Modern Ovals von Spellbinders  ausgestanzt und unter dem Hut auf die Karte geklebt. Das Ende des Vellums habe ich umgeknickt und hinten auf der Karte festgeklebt. 

 

 Quite at the bottom and centered in this pumpkin patch, that's a 6" x 6" stamp with a frame, there's this quite round pumpkin. I put a witch's hat onto that. 

The hat is made with the Sassy Witch Hat die set by SimonSaysStamp. I die cut it from brown, the folded up side and the ribbon from yellow cardstock  and the bow from gold glitter cardstock and shaded the pieces with Copics. 

And since the hat looked way too smooth for a witch's hat I decided to add three small spiders. They are from the Boo stamp set by WaffleFlower and I know, that they don't really fit to the style of the rest of the card. But I really liked them with their large eyes and they add a goofy touch to the card. I used a gold gel pen to trace the thread the spider is dangling from. 

The text on the card is again from Pumpkin to talk About. I cut the stamp apart to be able to stamp the what's above the cooking and white heat embossed the text on vellum. I cut it out with one of the Essential Modern Ovals by Spellbinders and adhered it under the hat onto the cardstock. I folded over the left edge of the vellum and glued it to the back of the card.

 

 Den Hut habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Und auch hinter dem oberen Rand der Krempe befindet sich ein kleines Stück davon - den unteren Rand habe ich mit Flüssigkleber direkt am Hut angeklebt. So wirkt sie schön plastisch.

 Ich habe dann beschlossen, dass noch irgendein optischer Abschluss auf der Karte fehlte. Also habe ich aus weißem Cardstock einen der Stitched Rectangles von Create a Smile gestanzt und aufgeklebt. Der hält auch das Vellum noch etwas besser an Ort und Stelle. Außerdem habe ich ein paar weiß-irisierende Perlen rund um den Hut verteilt aufgeklebt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used thin foam tape to adhere the hat to the background. And I also put a small piece of it behind the top of the folded over part of the hat - the bottom I glued with liquid glue directly to the hat. This makes it look very dimensional. 

I decided that I was missing some kind of frame here. So I die cut one of the Stitched Rectangles by Create a Smile from white cardstock and glued it down. This frame also holds the vellum in place better. And I added some white-iridescent pearls around the heat.

As the last step I glued the card panel onto a white note card.

 

Vintage, herbstlich oder beides?

Die Karte, die ich Euch heute zeige, war eigentlich als Karte im Vintage-Look gedacht. Aber durch die Farb- und Motivwahl sieht sie für mich schon sehr herbstlich aus. Aber ich mag sie trotzdem.

The card I am sharing with you today was planned to have a vintage look. But because of the image and colors it definately has some fall vibes. But I still like it.

 

Alles fing mit dem Fall Harvest Stempelset von PapertreyInk an, das vor kurzem bei mir einziehen durfte. Darin ist ein Samentütchen, das man mit verschiedenen Motive und Texten dekorieren kann. Ich dachte mir, eine Sonnenblume würde sommerlich wirken. Da das ganze Set für mich aber einen Vintage-Look hat, habe ich eher gedeckte Farben gewählt. Und deswegen sieht sie nun so herbstlich aus. 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück Watercolor Cardstock mit einem Sonnenblumen-Embossingfolder von Nellie Snellen geprägt. Dann habe ich ihn mit Wasser und Distress Spray Stain Scattered Straw und Mustard Seed besprüht. Ich habe drei Lagen Farbe und Wasser aufgesprüht und den Cardstock zwischendurch trocken gefönt. 

Da die Flüssigkeit die Struktur etwas aus dem Cardstock gezogen hat, habe ich  den Cardstock wieder in den Embossingfolder gelegt und nochmal geprägt. 

Dann habe ich Distress Ink Frayed Burlap über die erhabenen Stellen gewischt und nur die Blumenmitten mit Scorched Timber abgedunkelt. 

Anschließend habe ich noch grün-goldenes Gilding Wax mit dem Finger auf die erhabensten Stellen aufgetupft und über alles weiße Acrylfarbe gespritzt.

Aus hellbraunem Cardstock habe ich dann noch einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames von Create a Smile gestanzt und auf den Hintergrund geklebt. 

 

It all started with the Fall Harvest stamp set by PapertreyInk, that I got just recently. It has a seed pocket, that can be decorated with different images and texts. I thought, a sunflower would look pretty summer-ish. Since the whole set has some vintage vibes for me I went with muted colors and that gave it all that fall-ish touch.

For the background I dry embossed a piece of watercolor with a sunflower embossing folder by NellieSnellen. Then I sprayed it with water and Distress Spray Stain Scattered Straw and Mustard Seed. I added three layers of color and water  and dried the cardstock inbetween layers.

Since all the liquid softened the embossing I put the cardstock back into the folder and ran it through my Big Shot again.

Then I used Distress Ink Frayed Burlap to ink the raised areas and darkened justs the flower centers with Scorched Timber.

I dabbed some green-gold Gilding Wax onto the most raised areas and then splattered white acrylic paint over the whole cardstock.

From light brown cardstock I die cut one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames by Create a Smile and glued it onto the background. 

 

 Hier ist das Samentütchen. Ich habe es mit grau-brauner Tinte auf cremefarbenen Cardstock gestempelt und dann das Innere mit der Schere herausgeschnitten. Den Kreis oben rechts, die Blätter und das Sunflower Seeds habe ich mit grüner Tinte aufgestempelt, den Preis und später die Punkte in der Blumenmitte mit ganz dunkelbrauner. 

Die Sonnenblume habe ich  mit gelber Tinte und die Blumenmitte mit 3 verschiedenen Brauntönen gestempelt. Ich habe zwei Blumen gefertigt und nur den inneren Blüttenblätterkreis einer Blume später auf die  andere Blume geklebt und das Motiv dabei leicht gedreht.

Nur die Sonnenblume und die Blätter habe ich ein klein wenig mit Polychromos schattiert. Dann habe ich alle Motive ausgeschnitten.

Hinter das Fenster im Samentütchen habe ich ein Stück Acetate gesetzt, auf das ich mit hellgelbem deckendem StazOn das "just add sunshine" gestempelt habe. Dann habe ich noch braunen Cardstock mit dünnem 3D Tape hinter das Tütchen geklebt.

 

Here's the seed pocket. I stamped it with grey-ish brown ink onto cream colored cardstock and then cut out the center with my scissors. The circle in the bottom right, the leaves and the Sunflower Seeds I stamped with green ink, the price and later also the dots in the flower centers with dark brown ink. 

I stamped the different elements of the sunflower with yellow and 3 shades of brown ink. I created two flowers and glued just the inner circle of petals of one of the flowers onto the other one, turning the petals slightly.

I used Polychromos just on the flower and the leaves to add a bit of shading. Then I cut out all the images  with my scissors.

I glued a piece of acetate behind the window in the seed pocket and stamped the "just add sunshine" with yellow opaque StazOn onto it. Then I used thin foam tape to put a layer of light brown cardstock behind the seed pocket. 

 

 Ich war dann schon versucht, einen herbstlichen Text zu verwenden, habe mich dann aber doch für ein allgemeineres "hello there" entschieden. 

Das Hello ist mit einer Stanze von MFT gemacht und besteht aus je einer Lage cremefarbenen und braunen Cardstocks, die ich leicht versetzt aufeinander geklebt habe.

Das "there" darunter ist ein Banner gestanzt und mit einer Stanze von Concord and 9th. Ich habe das Banner aus grün-braunem Cardstock gestanzt und dann mit hellbraunem Cardstock hinterlegt.

Beides habe ich dann unterhalb des Samentütchens auf den Hintergrund geklebt.  

 

I was really tempted to use a fall greeting on the card, but then decided against it and went with a more general "hello there". 

The hello is made using a die by MFT. It's made from one layer of cream and one layer of brown cardstock, that I stacked a bit offset.

The "there" is cut into a banner, made using a die by Concord and 9th. I cut the banner from green-ish brown cardstock and put some light brown cardstock behind it. 

Then I adhered both text pieces under the seed pocket onto the background.

 

 Nun fehlte noch ein wenig Deko.

Erst habe ich eine Schleife aus grün-weiß kariertem Band unter der rechten Ecke des Samentütchens aufgeklebt. Und damit die Schleife Sinn macht, habe ich ein kleines Stück des Bands schräg über die obere linke Ecke des Tütchens geklebt.

Auf/an die Sonnenblume auf dem Samentütchen habe ich zwei dunkelbraune Herzen angebracht und dann noch einige grün-braune Pailetten auf der Karte verteilt.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling angebracht.

 

Now my card just needed some decorations.

First I glued a bow, made from green and white checkered ribbon, under the bottom right corner of the seed pocket. And to make it look less lost I glued a small piece of the same ribbon across the top left corner of the pocket.

Onto/next to the sunflower on the seed pocket I adhered two brown clay hearts and then added some green-brown sequins to the card.

Then I attached the card panel to a white note card.

 

Meerjungfrauen-Geburtstag

Eine meiner Nichten hatte vor kurzem Geburtstag. Und weil sie, wie viele kleine Mädchen, Meerjungfrauen liebt, habe ich ihr eine Geburtstagskarte mit dem Thema gemacht.

One of my nieces celebrated her birthday recently. Like many little girls she loves mermaids so I made her a mermaid birthday card.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks, den ich mit Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China und Uncharted Mariner gewischt habe. Dann habe ich ein wenig Wasser darauf gespritzt.

Für den Sand habe ich die obere Kante von zwei Stücken hellbraunen Cardstocks mit einer leicht gewellten Randstanze - ich glaube von MFT, meine Wellen sind nicht mehr wirklich sortiert - gestanzt. Den Cardstock habe ich dann ein wenig mit Distress Ink Scorched Timber gewischt und Distress Ink Vintage Photo sowie weiße Acrylfarbe in feinen Spritzern aufgespritzt.

Hinter die Sandlagen habe ich noch einige Wasserpflanzen gesetzt. Die grünen Pflanzen sind mit dem Bayou Backdrop von LawnFawn gemacht - ich habe nur die Kante mit den Pflanzen benutzt und die dann umgedreht, so dass sie nach oben wachsen. Dahinter befinden sich noch hellblaue Corallen, die mit einer Stanze von Marianne Design gemacht sind. Die grünen Pflanzen habe ich mit Distress Mica Stain Frosted Juniper, die blauen mit Snow Flurries bespritzt. 

 

I made the background from white cardstock, that I inked with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China and Uncharted Mariner. Then I flicked some water onto it.

For the sand I cut the top edge of two pieces of light brown cardstock with a slightly wavy border die - I think it's MFT but my wave dies aren't really sorted by sets anymore so I am not entirely sure. I shaded the Cardstock with Distress Ink Scorched Timber and added fine splatters of Vintage Photo and also white acrylic paint onto it. 

Behind the sand I placed some water plants. The green ones are made with the Bayou Backdrop by LawnFawn. I only used the edge with the plants and turned them upside down, so the grow upwards. Behind these there are some blue corals, made with a die by Marianne Design. I spitzed Distress Mica Stain  onto the plants - Frosted Juniper onto the green and Snow Flurries onto the blue ones.

 

 Unten auf der Karte befindet sich die Meerjungfrau, die gerade dabei ist, die Kerzen auf ihrer Torte auszublasen. Die Meerjungfrau ist aus dem Set Mermazing von MFT. Und weil eine Party alleine doof ist, hat sie zwei Seepferdchen-Freunde eingeladen. Die sind aus Mermaid for You von LawnFawn. Alle tragen natürlich Partyhüte aus den Sets Capybaras und Lovable Legends von LawnFawn. 

Die Torte ist mit dem Set Cake it Easy von LawnFawn gemacht - für eine Meerjungfrau natürlich mit dickem Algenguss. Und auch dekoriert ist sie mit einem Algenmuster. Dafür habe ich nach dem Colorieren der Torte den oberen Teil eines Wasserpflanzenstempels aus Mermazing mit helltürkisfarbener Tinte mehrfach auf die Torte gestempelt. 

Der Guss der Torte ist mit Glossy Accents überzogen, Teile der Meerjungfrau und auch die Seepferdchen sind mit Stickles beglittert. 

Und wie es sich für einen Meerjungfrauen-Geburtstag gehört, wird die Torte natürlich in einer Muschel serviert. Eigentlich hatte ich mir extra zwei Stanzensets von StudioLight bestellt, die kamen aber nicht mehr rechtzeitig an. Also habe ich die Muschel aus dem Seashell Frame von WaffleFlower benutzt.  Ich habe sie aus Schimmer-Cardstock gestanzt und die Torte statt der Perle im Set hineingesetzt. Weil die Muschel fast ein wenig zu klein war, habe ich per Hand noch eine Schattenlage aus cremefarbenem Schimmer-Cardstock zugeschnitten. Mit Polychromos habe ich einige Schatten und Details auf die Muschel gemalt.  Ein Geschenk und ein Partybanner durften natürlich auch nicht fehlen! 

In den Sand habe ich noch ein paar Muscheln, ebenfalls aus Mermazing, gesteckt. Alle Motive sind mit Copics coloriert. 

 

At the bottom of the card there's the little mermaid, that's just about to blow out the candles on the cake. The mermaid is from  Mermazing by MFT. And it isn't a party without a few guests I added two seahorses to the card. Those are from Mermaid for You by LawnFawn. Of course all of them are wearing party hats from Capybaras and Lovable Legends by LawnFawn.

The cake is made using the Cake it Easy set by LawnFawn - since it is for a mermaid it is covered with some algue icing. It's also decorated with some kelp. For that I stamped the top of a waterplant from Mermazing with light aqua ink all around the cake, of course after coloring it. 

The icing is covered with Glossy Accents, parts of the mermaid and also the seahorses I made nice and sparkly with Stickles.

And as is suitable for a mermaid birthday the cake is served in a seashell. I had ordered two die sets by StudioLight to use here but they didn't arrive in time so I used the seashell from the Seashell Frame die set by WafleFlower instead. I cut it from shimmer cardstock, then glued the cake onto it instead of the pearl. Since the seashell was a bit too small I cut a shadow layer from cream colored shimmer cardstock, using my scissors. With Polychromos I added some shadows and details to the shell. Of course a present and a party banner are a must haveo a birthday, too!

I put some seashells from Mermazing into the sand. All images on this card are colored with Copics.

 

 

 Im oberen Bereich der Karte habe ich mit türkisfarbener Tinte einige Fischschwärme aus Mermazing auf den Hintergrund gestempelt. Damit sie nicht zu dunkel werden, habe ich hier Second Generation Stamping angewendet. 

Und in die Mitte habe ich hier oben ein einfaches Happy Birthday aus Cake it Easy Add-Ondirekt auf den Hintergrund embosst. Damit der Text zum Glitzerlook passt, habe ich irisierendes weißliches Embossingpulver benutzt.

 

In the upper half of my card I stamped some school of fish from Mermazing onto the background using turquoise ink. To make sure they don't turn out too dark I did some second generation stamping.

And in the upper center I placed my text, heat embossing a simple Happy Birthday from Cake it Easy Add-On directly onto the background. To make the text go with the glittery look of the card I used some iridescent offwhite embossing powder.

 

 Die Szene habe ich natürlich mit 3D Tape zusammengesetzt. Als Dekoration habe ich einige klare Pailetten aufgeklebt, die wie aufsteigende Blubberblasen aussehen. 

Zum Schluss habe ich noch einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames aus blauem, leicht regenbogen-farben irisierendem Cardstock gestanzt. Der hat ein wenig Struktur und ich habe ihn schon ewig und fast vergessen. Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich aber genau den Cardstock hervorgeholt, denn er war perfekt für eine andere Karte. Und wie es so oft geht, kaum ist etwas wieder in Erinnerung gerufen, nutzt man es auch gleich wieder öfter. 

Zum Schluss habe meine Szene auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

Of course I used foam tape to put the scene together. As decoration I added some clear sequins, that look like little bubbles. 

I die cut one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames from blue, kind or rainbow iridescent cardstock. It has a bit of a structure and I have had it forever. I had nearly forgotten about it, but a few days ago this was the perfect cardstock for another project. And as often - once you remember something you have in your stash you use it more often.

As the last step I attached the card panel to a white note card.

 

LawnFawnatics Challenge #204

 Die LawnFawnatics Challenge #204 ist am Montag mit dem Thema Woodland Wonders gestartet. Na, und Wald, das schreit ja förmlich nach Herbst. Und so ist diese Herbstkarte entstanden.

Monday started the 204th LawnFawnatics Challenge with the theme of Woodland Wonders. Well, woods, that screams fall to me. And so I made this fall card for my entry.

 

Ich war schon sehr versucht, die Eichhörnchen für meine Karte zu verwenden. Aber dann fielen mir Igel ein - wahrscheinlich weil einer davon gerade in unserem Garten unterwegs und nicht zu überhören ist. Also habe ich meinen Plan geändert. 

Für meine Szene habe ich mit den Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop und Leafy Tree Backdrop Landscape einen Wald gestaltet und dazwischen noch ein paar der Birch Trees gesetzt. Alle Teile sind aus farbigem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Und weil ich später für die Igel noch meine Polychromos hervorgeholt habe, habe ich auch noch einen weißen Polychromo auf den Bäumen benutzt.

Im unteren Bereich der Karte habe ich die unterste Sandlage des Desert Canyon Backdrop aus dunkelgrünem Cardstock gestanzt, mit Distress Ink Forest Moss ein wenig schattiert und als Waldboden auf die Bäume geklebt. Und ganz obenauf kam zuletzt noch ein Rahmen, gemacht mit einer der Stitched Rectangle Frames. Den habe ich aus hell-koralle farbenem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Dried Marigold und Tea Dye gewischt.

Auch der Hintergrund besteht aus diesem hell-lachs farbenen Cardstock und ist mit den selben Distress Inks gewischt. Anschließend habe ich hier weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

I was really tempted to use the squirrels on my card. But then I remembered the hedgehogs - most likely because one of them is roaming our garden every night and you can't not hear him. So I changed my plan.

For my scene I created a wood using the Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop and the Leafy Tree Backdrop Landscape, then put a few of the Birch Trees inbetween. I die cut all pieces from colored cardstock and shaded them with Copics. And because I brought out my Polychromos for the hedgehogs later I also used a white one of these on the trees.

In the bottom of the card I used the bottom sand layer from the Desert Canyon Backdrop. I cut it from dark green cardstock, lightly shaded it with Distress Ink Forest Moss and used it as the mossy ground in my forest. And on top of it all I put a frame, cut from light coral colored cardstock using one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames. I shaded it a bit with Dried Marigold and Tea Dye.

The background is made from the same salmon/coral colored cardstock and inked with the same inks. Then I splattered white acrylic paint onto it.

 

 Die kleinen Igel haben sich am Waldrand versammelt und pflücken fleißig Äpfel. Naja, fast alle, denn einer von ihnen macht es sich lieber im Apfelkorb gemütlich...

Die Igel sind aus den Sets Jump for Joy, Forest Feast und S'More the Merrier, der Apfelkorb aus Spring Basket. Alle Motive auf der Karte sind mit Copics coloriert. Nur die feinen Stacheln der Igel habe ich später mit Polychromos aufgemalt. 

Die Äpfel auf der Karte sind aus Forest Feast und Apple-Solutely Awesome, außerdem habe ich den Blätterhaufen aus Let's Go Nuts sowie das einzelne Blatt aus Jump for Joy in die Szene eingebaut. Und dann konnte ich nicht widerstehen und habe noch die Schnecke aus Spring Basket Add-On Fall auf den Henkel des Korbs gesetzt. Aus dem selben Set sind auch die Pilze vorne in der Szene.

Ich habe alles per Hand ausgeschnitten und die Blätterhaufen teilweise zerschnitten, so dass sie hinter den Bäumen sichtbar sind. Außerdem habe ich jeweils die Enden gedreht vorne hinter den Rahmen geklebt. 

 

The little hedgehogs gathered in the woods and are picking apples. Well, not all of them, one has decided to sit in the basket of apples...

The hedgehogs are from Jump for Joy, Forest Feast and S'More the Merrier, the basket from Spring Basket. I colored all the images on this card with Copics. Then I used Polychromos to add the fine spikes to the hedgehogs.

The apples on my card are from Forest Feast and Apple-Solutely Awesome, I also used the pile of leaves from Let's Go Nuts and the individual leaf from Jump for Joy. And then I just couldn't resist and added the little snail from Spring Basket Add-On Fall on the handle of the basket. From the same set are also the mushrooms at the left and right of the scene.

I cut all images out with my scissors and cut apart most of the piles of leaves so they are visible behind the trees. I also turned some pieces and adhered them behind the frame in the front.

 

 Oben auf der Karte war dann Platz für meinen Text. Der ist aus dem Stempelset Jump for Joy und weiß auf den hellrosa/hellorangen Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich auch den leicht mit den schon erwähnten Distress Inks gewischt.

Da ich noch Blätter und einen Apfel übrig hatte, habe ich die im oberen Teil meiner Karte verteilt aufgeklebt. Dazwischen habe ich kleine goldene Perlen gesetzt.

 

In the upper half of my card I added my text. It's from Jump for Joy and white heat embossed onto the same light pink/orange cardstock. Then I used the same Distress Inks to shade the text strips just a little bit.

I had some leaves and an apple left so I scattered these on the top of my scene and put a few small gold pearl inbeetween.

 

 Hinter den einzelnen Lagen meines Walds und auch dem Waldboden und dem Rahmen befindet sich jeweils eine Lage dünnes 3D Tape. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

Behind the layers of the woods and also behind the ground and the frame I put some thin foam tape. As the last step I glued the scene to a white note card.

 

Comic-Book Cover im Halloweenlook

Es ist wieder Zeit für eine WhimsyStamps Halloweeners Karte! Die Karte, die ich Euch heute zeige, fing eigentlich mit einer komplett anderen Idee an. Aber dann kam alles anders und es ist eine Karte im Comic-Book-Look entstanden.

It's time for another WhimsyStamps Halloweeners card! The card I am sharing with you today started as a completly different idea. But then I changed my mind and made this comic book cover card.

 

Das grundlegende Design ist mit dem Comic Book Page Stempel gemacht. Der stempelt alle Elemente, die die Kartenfront in ein Comic-Cover verwandeln, das dann mit Motiven absolut frei dekorierbar ist. So kann man viele verschiedene "Ausgaben" gestalten.

Ich habe den Hintergrund hier schwarz auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und einige Elemente wie das Wort Comic mit Copics coloriert.

Da das ganze ja eine Halloween-Ausgabe der Comic-Reihe werden sollte, wollte ich mein Cover auch passend grungy aussehen lassen. Welches Halloween-Buch, das etwas auf sich hält, kommt im brandneuen Look daher? Also habe ich den weißen Cardstock an den Rändern erst mit einem Distressing Tool angeraut und an einigen Stellen eingerissen. Dann habe ich alles mit Distress Ink Old Paper und etwas Frayed Burlap gewischt und noch grau-braune Metallic-Watercolor und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. Dabei habe ich die colorierten Elemente abgedeckt, damit sie frei von Spritzern bleiben.

 

The basic design of my card is made using the Comic Book Page stamp. It stamps all the elements that turns your card front into a comic book cover and you can use whatever images you like to create a lot of different "issues".

I stamped the background with black ink onto white cardstock and colored some elements like the word "comic" with Copics.

Since I wanted to create a Halloween issue I wanted my cover to look a bit grungy. Which Halloween book looks brand new? So I first used a distressing tool to roughen the edges of the cardstock and even tore it in a few places. Then I used Distress Ink Old Paper and Frayed Burlap and inked the cardstock and even splattered some grey-ish brown metallic watercolor and white acrylic paint  onto the cover. I covered the colored elements with copy paper to keep those splatter-free.

 

 Zum Comic Book Page Stempel gibt es auch eine passende Outline-Stanze, mit der habe ich das Fenster in der Mitte der Karte gemacht. Dahinter habe ich dann ein Stück Cardstock gesetzt, das ist mit Distress Oxide Crackling Campfire, Vintage Photo und Ground Espresso gewischt und mit Wasser bespritzt habe. 

Dieses Fenster war dann der Hintergrund für meine Motive, die alle aus dem Set Going Batty sind. Tja, an Halloween ist nichts unmöglich. Und so hat die große Feldermaus, unterstützt von ihrem kleinen Freund, der für die nötige Beleuchtung sorgt, den Stöpsel der Flasche mit dem Fledermausflügel-Elixier gezogen. Natürlich blubbert das nun fröhlich oben aus der Flasche - und nur an Halloween verwandelt sich das Elixier zurück und die flügellosen Fledermäuse bekommen ihre Flügel wieder. So gesehen ist diese Fledermaus eine Art "Superman", die ihre Freunde rettet....

Die Motive sind alle mit Copics coloriert. Die Fledermaus mit Verband und nur einem Flügel, die eigentlich neben der Flasche steht, habe ich weggeschnitten. Stattdessen habe ich dann die kleine Fledermaus und den obersten Kürbis aus dem Kürbisstapel mit verwendet. An der Form des Kürbisses kann man ein wenig erkennen, dass die Fledermaus eigentlich auf ihm steht. Ich habe beides auseinandergeschnitten, mit der etwas wonky Form des Kürbisses kann ich gut leben. 

 

There's also a matching outline die for the Comic Book Page stamp set, I used it to cut out the window from the center of the card. Behind it I put a piece of cardstock that I had inked with Distress Oxide Crackling Campfire, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso, then added some droplets of water to lighten the ink in a few spots.

This window is the background for my images, that are all from Going Batty. Well, nothing is impossible on Halloween. So this large bat pulled the cork from the bottle in which the magician stores his wing of bat potion - all of that with the help of a little friends, that's taking care of some light. Now the potion is bubbling out of the bottle - and only on Halloween this potion transforms back into bat wings and the wing-less bats all get their wings back. So, this large bat is kind of a "superman" bat, saving all her friends' lifes...

The bat with just one wing, that's originally standing next to the bottle, I simply cut off. Instead I used the little bat and the top most pumpkin from the pile of pumpkins from the same set. You can tell from the pumpkin's shape, that the little bat is originally standing on top of it. I cut these two images apart and don't mind the kind of wonky shape of the pumpkin.

 

 Beim Ausschneiden der Motive habe ich den Korken von der Flasche abgeschnitten und dann der Fledermaus in die Hände (Pfoten?) gegeben. 

Aus der Flasche kommen orangefarbene Blasen, die ich aus orangefarbenem Vellum gestanzt habe. Dafür kamen einfach die Überreste der Bubbly-Stanze zum Einsatz. Und das kleine "Plop" neben der Flasche habe ich aus den Worten Poopoo und Flu aus BooBoo Man Flu zusammengesetzt. 

 

When cutting out the images I cut the cork off the bottle and then put it between the bat's hands (paws?). 

There are some orange bubbles coming out of the bottle, that I cut from orange colored vellum simply using the "trash" from the Bubbly ydie. And the little "plop" next to the bottle I created  by combining letters of the words "poopoop" and "flu" from BooBoo Man Flu.

 

 Kürbis, kleine Fledermaus und Zaubertrank-Flasche habe ich unten über zwei weiteren großen Texten, die der Comic Book Page Stempel stempelt, aufgeklebt. 

Und bei den Texten steht im oberen Streifen eigentlich "spectacular". Ich habe den kompletten Streifen um die Buchstaben herum nochmal mit einem schwarzen Marker gefüllt und dabei auch das E übermalt. An dessen Stelle habe ich dann die Augen einer weiteren Fledermaus aus dem Set Going Batty aufgeklebt. So wird aus "spectacular" das Wort "spooktacular", was natürlich perfekt zu Halloween passt. 

 

 I placed the pumpkin, small bat and potion bottle above two more larger texts the Comic Book Page stamps. 

And the text in that top text strip  originally reads "spectacular". I used a black marker to color the whole strip - carefully coloring around the letters - black and also went over the E. Then I glued the eyes of another bat from Going Batty in the place of the E. Now "spectacular" has turned into "spooctacular", which goes perfectly with Halloween. 

 

 Den orange-braun gewischten Cardstock hinter dem Fenster habe ich mit dünnem 3D Tape angebracht und dann auch die ausgeschnittenen Motive teilweise damit hinterlegt. 

Die Augen der Fledermäuse habe ich alles mit Glossy Accents überzogen, die Blubberblasen aus der Flasche sowie die Flügel der Fledermäuse habe ich mit Stickles beglittert. 

Zum Schluss habe ich mein Comic-Cover schwarz gemattet und alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I used thin foam tape to glue the orange-brown cardstock piece behind the window and then also backed the cut out images with it. 

I put a layer of Glossy Accents onto the bats' eyes and applied Stickles to the bubbles that come out of the bottle and the bats' wings.

I matted the comic book cover black and then adhered it to a white card base.
