Mit dem heutigen Weiberfasching startet das vor uns liegende Faschingswochende. Ich persönlich bin da ja nicht so der Fan von - aber der kleine Felix hat sich so schön verkleidet, dass er unbedingt verarbeitet werden wollte. Und so zeige ich heute auf dem Kulricke-Blog diese Box.

With today's "crazy thursday" Mardi Gras weekend starts. I'm not really a fan of it but since this cute penguin put so much effort into dressing up he really deserved to be used on a project. And so I made this box I am sharing over at the Kulricke Blog today.
Dieses Werk besteht eigentlich aus zwei Boxen. Ich wollte eine Art Partyhut gestalten und habe dafür die Spitztüte auf den Kopf gestellt. Da ich es doof finde, wenn die Öffnung unten ist, habe ich sie einfach auf eine Pizzabox geklebt.
Die Spitztüte ist aus weißem Cardstock geschnitten und mit gepunktetem Designpapier beklebt. Das erinnert mich so schön an Konfetti. Unten um den Rand und oben an der Spitze habe ich roten Cardstock angebracht, der in regelmäßigen Abständen eingeschnitten ist. Um den Frisselrand unten habe ich zudem noch etwas aqua-weiß gestreiftes Baker's Twine gewickelt und zur Schleife gebunden.
This box is usually made from two different boxes. I wanted to create a party hat and so I've put the coneshaped box upside down. Since I didn't like that the opening was at the bottom now I've simply glued the cone onto a pizza box.
The cone is cut from white cardstock and covered with a dotted designer's paper that reminded me of confetti. Around the bottom and the top I've added some red fringed cardstock. Around the bottom edge I've also wrapped some aqua and white striped Baker's twine and tied it to a bow.
Hier ist der süße Felix Clown. Ich habe ihn mit Copics und farblich passend zum Designpapier coloriert. Ich weiß, Fasching ist bunt, aber gegen wildere Farbkombis hat sich alles in mir gesträubt...
Mit den Alphabet-Stanzen habe ich noch das Wort Helau aus rotem und aquafabenem Cardstock gestanzt und an das obere Ende dünner Streifen Folie geklebt. Die unteren Enden sind hinten an Felix angeklebt - so sieht es so aus, als schwebten die Buchstaben um ihn herum. Felix - mitsamt den Buchstaben - habe ich dann mit 3D Tape auf die Box geklebt.
Here's the cute Felix Clown. I've colored him in with Copics matching the colors of my designer's paper. I know, Mardi Gras is colorful but even then I just can't do too wild color combinations...
I've used an alphabet die set to cut the word Helau (a Mardi Gras greeting from the area around Cologne) using red and aqua cardstock and glued it to the top of thin strips of acetate. The lower ends are glued to the back of the penguin so it looks like the word is floating around him. Then I've used dimensionals to glue the penguin with the letters to the box.
Hier habe ich die Box noch geöffnet fotografiert. Natürlich könnte man sie auch so machen, dass die Spitztüte abnehmbar wäre - mehr Platz für Süßigkeiten... ;)
Here I've taken a picture of the opened box. Of course it could also have been done with two single parts, glued together temporarily - which would provide more room for candies... ;)
Die Pizzabox habe ich aus aquafarbenem Designpapier gestanzt. Um die Box habe ich das selbe Designpapier geklebt, das ich auch für die Spitztüteverwendet habe. Da die Spitztüte etwas größer ist als die Pizzabox, habe ich das Designpapier auf der Pizzabox mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Das gleicht den Größenunterschied etwas aus - und durch die Frisselborte fällt es jetzt gar nicht mehr auf.
The pizzabox was cut from aqua colord cardstock. Around the box I've glued the same designer's paper that I've also put onto the cone. Since the cone is slightly larger than the pizzabox I've used dimensionals to attach the designer's paper to the pizzabox. That reduces the difference - and with the fringe border it isn't noticable anymore.
