Der Nikolaus war da! Wir haben die Nikolausfeier bereits am Wochenende vorgezogen - wenn die Kinder auswärts studieren, muss man die Feiertage manchmal ein wenig anpassen. Aber heute zeige ich Euch die Tags, die ich, zugegebenermaßen auf die Schnelle, für die Nikolaussäcke der Kinder gebunden habe.

It's St. Nikolaus Day here in Germany - he fills the good kids' boots with candies during the night. I think this is where the american tradition of hanging up stockings comes from. However, two of our girls are studying in different towns, so we had our little family St. Nikolaus party already on sunday - sometimes you have to make a holiday match your calendars. But today I am sharing the little tags that I made - honestly a bit rushed - to hang on their stockings.
Ich habe dafür eine Shaker Stiefel Stanze verwendet, allerdings keinen Shaker damit gemacht. Ich habe das Rückteil aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt, dann noch den Rahmen drei mal aus dem selben Cardstock. Für die oberste Lage habe ich den Rahmen noch aus dunkelrotem Shimmer Cardstock gestanzt und alle Teile aufeinander geklebt.
Den Ledergurt mit der Schnalle habe ich nur auf dem Rahmen aufgeklebt, darüber befindet sich natürlich der Fellbesatz der Stiefel, auf den ich jeweils den Namen geschrieben habe.
Und so ein Stiefel gehört natürlich ein wenig gefüllt. Deswegen habe ich eine Zuckerstange, zwei Lebkuchenmännchen sowie zwei Tannenzweig von hinten gegen den Stiefel geklebt. Zum Festbinden habe ich dann noch ein Stück Schleifenband durch die Rundung der Zuckerstange gezogen.
I used a boot shaker die but didn't make a shaker with it. I die cut the whole boot from red cardstock, then the shaker frame three more times from the same cardstock. For the top layer I cut the frame from dark red shimmer cardstock and stacked all pieces.
The belt with the buckle is attached to the frame only, above it of course there's the fur brim of the boot. I used this to write the names onto.
And of course such a boot/stocking has to be filled. So I glued a candy cane, two gingerbread men and two fir branches to the back of each boot. To attach the boots to the gifts I used a piece of ribbon, that I put through the top of the candy cane.
