Langsam wird es Zeit, Karten zum Valentinstag zu werkeln. Und die müssen ja nicht immer direkt mit dem Thema Liebe zu tun haben, auch ein Freund freut sich, wenn man ihm sagt, wie wichtig er einem ist. Und das versuche ich heute mit dieser Karte.

It's about time to start on Valentine's cards. And those cards don't necessarily have to be about love, even a friend will be delighted to get a note showing how important he/she is to you. And that's what I'm trying to say with this card today.
Die Basis für die Karte ist aus weißem Cardstock, auf den ich türkisgestreiftes Designpapier geklebt habe. Darauf kam dann ein Rechteck mit Motiv und Text.
The base for this card is cut from white cardstock onto which I've glued some turquoise striped designer's paper. Onto that I've added a rectangle with the image and saying.
Für das Motiv habe ich den Heart Tree von MFT aus einem Stück hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt und weiß hinterlegt. Den weißen Cardstock habe ich so zugeschnitten, dass er etwas größer als der blaue Carstock ist und so gleichzeitig einen Rahmen bildet. Eines der Herzen im Baum habe ich mit einem Herz aus rotem Cardstock gefüllt. Vor den Baum habe ich Gras geklebt. So kann man den Stamm des Baumes optisch verlängern.
Der süße Vogel ist aus dem Stempelset Tweet Friend. Die Blumen habe ich hineinmaskiert. Der Vogel ist mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt und "steht" quasi auf dem Banner mit dem Text, der aus demselben Stempelset ist.
Oben am Himmel habe ich noch ein paar Glitzer-Dew-Drops aufgeklebt.
For the image I've die cut the Heart Tree by MFT from a piece of light blue cardstock and put some white cardstock behind it. The white cardstock was cut a bit larger than the blue one so I also got a white frame around the image. One of the hearts of the tree was filled with a heart cut from red cardstock. To the bottom of the tree I've added a grass border which made it possible to make the trunk longer optically.
The cute bird is from the Tweet Friend stap set. I've masked the flowers to the bird. He was glued onto the card using dimensionals and is "standing" on the banner with the saying, which comes in the same stamp set.
To the sky I've added a few glitter Dew Drops.
