Hippo Hippo Hurra

Heute zeige ich auf dem Stampcorner-Blog diese fröhlich bunte Karte mit dem Hippo aus dem Mai-Release.

Today I am sharing this happy und colorful card with the cute Hippo from the may release over at the Stampcorner Blog.

Da meine letzten Karten recht grün-blau-lastig waren, habe ich hier bewusst mal zu einer anderen Farbe gegriffen. Kennt Ihr das, wenn ich viele Karten direkt hintereinander mache, stecke ich oft in einer Art Tunnel. Das kann die verwendeten Farben, aber auch das Thema einer Karte betreffen. Hier habe ich mich dann für Rottöne entschieden.

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit Distress Oxide Tattered Rose, Saltwater Taffy, Abandoned Coral und Festive Berries gewischt - hell in der Mitte und nach außen hin dunkler werdend. Dann habe ich einen Strahlenstencil von MFT aufgelegt und die weiße Yeti-Stempelfarbe von LawnFawn durch den Stencil aufgetragen. So entstehendie hellen Strahlen. Anschließend habe ich noch einige Wassertropfen sowie weiße Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.

Since I used lots of greens and blues on my other cards, I decided, to go with a different color for this card. Maybe that happens to you as well. When I make lots of cards just one after the other, I sometimes get stuck in some kind of tunnel. It can be that I use the same colors on all of them, or the theme of the card is the same. So here I went with reds.

I inked the background with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose, Saltwater Taffy, Abandoned Coral and Festive berries - light in the center, getting darker toward the edges. Then I placed a rays stencil by MFT onto the cardstock and used the white Yeti ink by LawnFawn to ink on the rays. This way they appear light on the darker background. Then I flicked some water and also some white metallic watercolor onto the background.

Der süße Hippo hat wohl ein gestecktes Ziel erreicht - und feiert das mit einem ordentlichen Tänzchen. Und damit er auch wirklich richtig die Hüften schwingt, hat er sich einen Hula-Hoop-Reifen zu Hilfe geholt. Ich finde dieses Motiv einfach klasse und wunderbar fröhlich. Coloriert habe ich ihn mit Copics und anschließend ausgeschnitten. Die "Bewegungswellen" habe ich mit schwarzem Embossingpulver auf Folie embosst, ausgeschnitten und dann von hinten gegen den Hippo geklebt. Warum, verrate ich Euch gleich noch. 

Im Stempelset ist ein Text "Hulahippo" enthalten. Und irgendwie hat mich der dann auf "Hip Hip Hula" gebracht, so also ob ein kleines Kind das Hurra nicht aussprechen könnte. Nun, das war dann vielleicht doch ein wenig weit hergeholt - also habe ich mich für Hippo, Hippo, Hurra entschieden. Für die beiden Hippo habe ich einfach den entsprechenden Teil des oben erwähnten Texts weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

The cute hippo reached one of his milestones - and is celebrating that with a happy dance. To make sure he really swings his hipps, he brought a Hula-Hoop ring. I just love this image and the happiness is shows. I colored it with Copics, then cut it out. The "move lines" I black heat embossed onto acetate, cut them out and then attached them to the back of the hippo. I will show you the reason for that in just a bit.

There's a "hoolahippo" text included in the stamp set. And the made me think of a "hip, hip, hoola", as if a little kid that can not say the hooray properly. Well, that seemed a bit far off and so I went with a Hippo Hippo Hooray instead. For the two Hippo texts I just used  a part of said text stamp and white heat embossed it onto black cardstock.

Den Rest des Textes habe ich wieder mit Stanzteil und embosstem Text gemacht. 

Das Hurra, das das Hippo, Hippo ergänzt, ist mit der Hurra Stanze von Stampcorner gemacht. Ich fand, die Form der Stanze passt perfekt zum Hippo mit seinem hochgehobenem Bein. Ich habe es einmal aus schwarzem und einige Male aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und die Teile aufeinander geklebt. 

Der Text darunter ist aus dem Set Sei Mutig und wieder weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst.

The hooray, that completes the Hippo, Hippo ist made using a die by Stampcorner. I think, the shape of the word goes perfectly with the hippo and how he holds his leg up. I die cut the word once from black and several times from red cardstock and stacked them.

The text under it means "be proud of yourself" and again white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

Und nein, dieses Bild ist nicht unscharf! Hier seht Ihr den Grund, warum ich die Bewegungswellen auf Folie embosst und angeklebt habe - sie mit weißem Cardstock drumherum auszuschneiden hätte einfach nicht schön ausgesehen, aber ich wollte sie unbedingt am Hippo lassen. Denn ich habe hier tatsächlich das allererste Mal, seitdem ich sie gekauft habe, einen Mini Action Wobbler verwendet! Und, hüstel, die habe ich mir auf dem Stempelmekka 2017 oder so gekauft. Dafür darf der kleine Hippo jetzt aber auch ordentlich auf der Karte rumwackeln!

And no, this picture isn't blurred! Here you see the reason, why I heat embossed those "moves" onto acetate and then attached them to the hippo - cutting them out with the white cardstock around them just wouldn't have looked good. But I really wanted to keep them attached to the hippo. Here I actually used one of those Mini Action Wobblers. And, well, I got those at a stamp fair back in 2017 or so. But now the little hippo is really shaking it on this card!

Man kann den Action Wobbler zusammendrücken, um die Karte in ein Kuvert zu stecken. Aber sonst steht das Motiv ziemlich weit von der Karte ab. Das sieht man hier ganz gut, aber es stört mich nicht, so kann der Hippo beim Wackeln zumindest nicht an einem anderen Element der Karte anstoßen.

Die schwarzen Textstreifen habe ich mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt und als Deko rund um das Motiv einige rote Enamel Dots aufgeklebt. Dann habe ich, wie fast immer, alles schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

You can push the image with the Action Wobbler behind it down to put the card in an envelope. But when it's out, the image stands up from the card quite a lot. You can see that pretty good here, but it doesn't bother me. This way the hippo can move freely and there's no danger that he's getting stuck behind one of the other elements on the card.

I used foam tape to adhere the black text strips and added a few red Enamel Dots around the image. Then, as usual, I matted the cardstock black and attached it to a white note card.
