LawnFawnatics Challenge #168

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Heute zeige ich Euch die Karte, die ich für die brandneue LawnFawnatics Challenge #168 mit dem Thema "all things birthday" gemacht habe. Für diese Kartehabe ich die Give it a Whirl Stanze von LawnFawn eingeweiht. Und auch wenn es so scheinen mag, der Name der Stanze war nicht der Ideengeber zu meinem Design.

Today I am sharing the card I made for the brand new LawnFawnatics Challenge #168 with the theme of "all things birthday". That card I made with the Give it a Whirl die by LawnFawn on. And even if it might look like that, the name of the die wasn't what inspird me to this design.

Ich brauchte eine Jungs-Geburtstagskarte. Und alle Jungs stehen ja sowohl auf interaktive Karten als auch auf Weltall und Co. 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück schwarzen Cardstock genommen und mit Distress Oxide Wilted Violet, Mowed Lawn, Broken China und Uncharted Mariner sowie weißer Stempelfarbe die Galaxien aufgewischt. Mit Black Soot habe ich dann alles ein wenig mit dem schwarzen Cardstock verblendet. Anschließend habe ich feine Wassertropfen und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt, so dass alles schön nach Sternenhimmel und Galaxie aussieht. 

I needed a birthday card for a little boy. And most of them just love interactive cards and everything related to space. 

For the background I used a piece of black cardstock and inked the galaxy/nebula onto it with Distress Oxide Wilted Violet, Mowed Lawn, Broken China and Uncharted Mariner and also some white pigment ink. Using Black Soot I blended everything a bit into the background. Then I splattered fine droplets of water and white acrylic paint onto it to make the background look like  a starry sky or a galaxy.

Bei der Give it a Whirl Stanze ist ja erst ein - rundes - Bild zu sehen, nach dem Drehen des Mechanismus zeigt sich ein zweites Bild, das erste verschwindet. Das brachte mich auf die Idee, ein Raumschiff in eine Art magischen, intergalaktischen Wirbel hineinfliegen zu lassen. 

Ich habe den Mechanismus ebenfalls aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt - den unteren Teil dabei direkt aus dem Hintergrund, so dass sich hier ein fortlaufendes Bild ergibt. 

Den Raum-Zeit-Wirbel habe ich frei Hand mit Distress Oxide Broken China, Uncharted Mariner, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade und Scattered Straw sowie wieder weißer Stempelfarbe gemacht. Damit ich möglichst fein arbeiten kann, habe ich zum Auftragen der Farben Wattestäbchen benutzt. Durch Auftupfen konnte ich damit auch gleich eine wolkenartige Struktur arbeiten. 

Auch auf den Wirbel habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe gespritzt und mit einem weißen Gelstift einige Sternchen aufgemalt. Auf die schwarzen Bereiche des Wirbels habe ich außerdem Schimmer mit einem Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen aufgetragen. 

Das Raumschiff ist aus dem Out of this World Stempelset. Ich habe es mit Copics coloriert, ausgeschnitten und mit 3D Tape auf den Tab geklebt, der eigentlich zum Drehen des Mechanismus vorgesehen ist. Auch hier habe ich die silbernen Teile mit dem Shimmer Pen beglittert. Und damit das Raumschiff schön stabil ist - beim Drehen muss es ja doch ein bisschen was aushalten - habe ich ein weiteres Raumschiff auf dicken Cardstock gestempelt, ausgeschnitten und das colorierte Motiv damit hinterlegt.

The Give it a Whirl die first shows a - round - picture, after you've turned the mechanism a different one is visible, the first one disappears. That gave me the idea to make a spaceship fly into some kind of magical, intergalactic swirl.

Again I used black cardstock to cut the mechanism - the bottom part I cut directly from my galaxy background to have a continuous background.

The space-time-swirl I created free hand with Distress Oxide Broken China, Uncharted Mariner, Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade and Scattered Straw and again some white pigment ink. To be able to work in very small areas I simply used Q-Tipps to apply the ink. By dabbing them down I was also able to create some kind of cloudy look.

I flicked some white acrylic paint onto the swirl and added some sparkles with a white gel pen. Onto the black areas of the swirl I applied some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer.

The spaceship is from the Out of this World stamp set. I colored it with Copics, cut it out and attached it with foam tape onto the tab that's there to turn the mechanism. I applied more of the Aqua Shimmer Pen onto the silver parts of the spaceship. And to make it more stable so it stands being used to turn the mechanism, I stamped another spaceship onto some thick white cardstock, cut it out and backed the colored spaceship with it.

Hier könnt Ihr den Schimmer auf dem Wirbel und dem Raumschiff ganz gut sehen.

Auf dem Hintergrund habe ich einige Planeten und Sterne aus dem Set Out of this World verteilt. 

Auch der Text ist aus diesem Set. Ich habe ihn weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst, mit weißem Cardstock hinterlegt und mit 3D Tape auf den unteren Bereich der Karte geklebt.

Here you can see the shimmer on the swirl and the spaceship pretty good.

I added some stars and planets from the Out of this World stamp set to the background. Also the text is from this set. I white heat embossed it onto black cardstock, matted it white and then adhered it with foam tape to the bottom area of my card.

Dann fliegt das Raumschiff in den Nebel...

The spaceship flies into the nebula...

...fliegt weiter hindurch....

...goes deeper into it...

 

...und kommt auf der anderen Seite des Wirbels in einer fremden Galaxie heraus. Was für eine Überrasschung! Dort wartet ein kleiner grüner Alien, der fröhlich aus seinem Ufo herauswinkt.

...and on the other end comes out in a foreign galaxy. What a surprise! A little green alien in his UFO is happily waving and waiting for it there.

Der kleine Alien und das UFO sind aus dem Set Beam me Up. Ich habe das Innere der Kuppel des UFOs herausgeschnitten und mit Vellum hinterlegt. Drumherum habe ich weitere Planeten und Sterne am Himmel verteilt.

Und die Sprechblase ist aus dem Set All the Speech Bubbles. Ich habe sie mit schwarzer Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt, hell-lila coloriert und den Text hineingestempelt. Das Congrats ist Teil eines Stempels aus dem Sprechblasen-Set, das Earthling stammt wieder aus dem Set Beam me Up. Ob der Alien jetzt zum Geburtstag oder zum Durchbrechen des Wirbels gratuliert, sei mal dahingestellt.

The little alien and the UFO are from the Beam me Up set. I cut out the inner part of the UFO's top and put some vellum behind it. Around the UFO I added more planets and stars to the sky.

The speech bubble is from the All the Speech Bubbles stamp set. I stamped it with black ink onto white cardstock and colored it a light purple, then stamped the text into it. The congrats is part of a stamp from the speech bubbles set, the earthling comes in the Beam me Up set. If the little alien is congratulating on the recipient's birthday or on successfully making it through the swirl is something I can't answer.

Zum Schluss habe ich dann den dekorierten Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

As a last step I glued the decorated card panel onto a white note card.
