Gestern sind in Bayern die Sommerferien zu Ende gegangen und auch meine kleine Nichte ist eingeschult worden. Für sie habe ich diese Karte gemacht.

Summer break ended yesterday here in Bavaria and my little nice had her very first day of school. I made this card for her.
Die komplette Karte ist wie eine Schultafel gestaltet.
Ich habe aus hellbraunem Cardstock vier Rahmenteile zugeschnitten, um die komplette Front meines Kartenrohlings zu umrahmen. Ich habe dafür Stanzen von Action verwendet und sie per Partial Diecutting so verlängert, dass die Maße passten. Dann habe ich mit Copics ganz grob ein Holzmuster aufgemalt.
Die Schreiboberfläche der Tafel habe ich aus grünem Cardstock gemacht. Ich habe die Kante eines weißen Pigmentkissens ein paar Mal leicht in verschiedenen Richtungen auf den Cardstock gedrückt und außerdem an einigen Stellen etwas der weißen Farbe mit dem Finger vermalt. So sieht der Cardstock mehr aus wie eine Tafel, so richtig sauber waren die ja irgendwie nie... Man sah immer Kreidereste und -spuren.
I made my card look like a school board.
I die cut four frame pieces from light brown cardstock, making them go all around my card base. I used dies by Action here and did some partial die cutting to make them the exact size I needed them to be. Then I added a simple wood pattern to the frame pieces using Copics.
The area to write on I made from green cardstock. I lightly pressed the edge of a white pigment ink pad several times onto the cardstock, changing direction every time. I also used my fingers to smear a bit of ink onto the cardstock. Now it looks like a real chalk board - they were never really clean and there was always some left over chalk and smudges visible.
Auf den oberen Teil der Tafel habe ich weiß sowohl den Namen meiner Nichte als auch ein "erster Schultag" aufembosst. Der Name ist mit dem Quinn's Capital ABCs Set von LawnFawn zusammengesetzt, der kleine Text darunter ist aus Endlich Schulkind von Create a Smile.
Und oben links habe ich noch ein Banner über die Tafelecke gehängt. Das ist aus dem Set Tree Hugging von MamaElephant und aus hellblauem Cardstock mit winzigen Pünktchen gestanzt. Ich habe es aufgeklebt und oben ein Stück weißes Twine als Schnur aufgeklebt.
Onto the top of my chalk board I white heat embossed my niece's name and also a "first day of school" text. The name I wrote with the Quinn's Capital ABCs set by LawnFawn, the small text under it is from Endlich Schulkind by Create a Smile.
Over the top left corner of my board I've hung a little party banner. It's from Tree Hugging by MamaElephant and cut from light blue cardstock with tiny white dots. I adhered it to the frame and glued a piece of white twine along the bottom edge.
Unten auf der Karte ist dann ein kleiner Bär mit Schultüte. Ich hatte meine große Nichte als Spion angeheuert und sie hat mir ein Foto der Schultlüte geschickt. Die habe ich versucht, auf der Karte nachzubauen.
Die echte Schultüte ist aus einer Art rosa-irisierendem Metallic-Cardstock. Da hatte ich tatsächlich nur Cardstock mit Struktur da, aber es war das, was am ehesten an das echte Material der Schultüte kam. Ich habe sie per Hand zugeschnitten und gefalzt und hinten flach gehalten. Auch die beiden Seitenteile sind nur etwa halb hoch, damit die Karte nicht so extrem hoch wird. Oben habe ich etwas Tüll in die Tüte geklebt und mit einer Schleife aus weißem Twine zusammengebunden.
Und die Meerjungfrau aus Mermaid for You von LawnFawn kam ganz gut an die Meerjungfrau auf der echten Schultüte hin. Ich habe mich hier auch farblich am Original orientiert, so dass die Farbkombi hier für mich etwas ungewöhnlich ist. Ich habe sie mit Copics coloriert und den Schwanz der Meerjungefrau und den Seestern im Haar mit Stickles beglittert, die Haare sind leicht mit einem Schimmer-Pen überzogen.
Entlang des oberen Rands der Schutüte habe ich noch etwas rosa Band aufgeklebt.
Gehalten wird die Schultüte von einem Bärenmädchen aus dem Bärliset von Stampcorner. Auch sie ist mit Copics coloriert. Die linke Hand habe ich abgeschnitten und etwas nach vorne versetzt wieder angeklebt, so dass sie hinter der Schultüte noch sichtbar ist.
At the bottom of the card there's a bear girl with a "Schultüte". I remember having talked about it here several times, a Schultüte is something, each kid gets on his/her very first day of first grade. It's a large paper cone filled with all kind of stuff - and parents really do this totally different. Some fill it with school stuff, some with games and there's most likely also some candy in it... I texted my older niece and made her my spy - she sent me a picture of my little niece's Schultüte and I tried to make the one on my card fit as much as possible.
The real Schultüte of my niece is made from some pink-iridescent metallic cardstock. I actually only had some with a structure that kind of matched. I cut my paper Schultüte by hand and kept it flat on the back. The two side pieces are less tall to keep the card a bit more flat. Into the top of the cone I glued some white tulle and closed it with a bow made from white twine.
The mermaid from Mermaid for You by LawnFawn matched the one on my niece's Schultüte pretty good. I used the "real" colors and so this is a color combo I would most likely not have picked on my own. I colored her with Copics, the tail and star fish in the mermaid's hair are covered with Stickles, onto the hair I added some shimmer using a shimmer pen by LawnFawn.
Along the top edge of the Schultüte I added some light pink ribbon.
A little bear girl is holding the Schultüte - she's from Bärliset by Stampcorner. Again I colored her with Copics. I cut off the left hand and glued it to the back of the Schultüte, moving it a bit forward so it's still visible with the Schultüte in place.
Das Partybanner habe ich mit dünnem, den Bären sam Schultüte mit dickem 3 Tape aufgeklebt. Und auch zwischen Schultüte und Bär befindet sich etwas von dem Tape, so dass das zweite Auge des Bären sichtbar ist.
Als Deko habe ich dann noch einige helltürkise Sterne auf der Karte verteilt und alles auf den Kartenrohling geklebt.
I adhered the party banner with thin, the bear and Schultüte with thick foam tape. And also between the bear and Schultüte I put a bit of tape so the second eye of the bear is visible.
I added some light aqua clay stars as decoration and then glued the card panel to a white note card.
