Schon wieder zwei Wochen rum? Ja, und somit gibt es auch bei Roses On Paper eine neue Challenge! Diesmal geht es um das Thema Geschenke. Ihr könnt eine Geschenkverpackung, ein kleines Set, eine Box oder was immer Euch zu diesem Thema einfällt machen.

Two weeks have passed again? Yes, and so it´s also time for a new challenge over at Roses On Paper! This week it´s all about "gifts". You can make a gift bag, a box, a matching set or whatever you think would fit this theme.

Ich habe ein kleines Album gemacht, denn ich weiß nie, wie ich Fotos schön verpackt verschenken kann ohne daß der Beschenkte in Fotorahmen versinkt, die ihm vielleicht gar nicht gefallen...

I made a little album because I never know how to give away photos in a nice "wrapping". And I also don´t want to give away a bunch of photo frames the recipent probably don´t likes... So, this album is the solution!

Wunderschönen Montag morgen Euch allen! Es ist wieder Zeit für eine unserer zweiwöchigen Challenges bei Roses on Paper. Diesmal mit einer Farbvorgabe: orange, rosa und gelb. Ich mußte etwas suchen, um die richtigen Papiere zu finden - aber dann hat die Challenge wirklich Spaß gemacht!

Ich habe "Belle Vacuuming" aus der Frühlingskollektion von Belles´n´Whistles verwendet. Da wir auf dem Belles´n´Whistles Blog wieder die neuen Seiten unseres Kalenders zeigen habe ich beide Themen wieder kombiniert - und der Spruch gefiel mir wahnsinnig gut für den Monat April. Frühjahrsputz ist angesagt!

I used "Belle Vacuuming" from the spring collection by Belles´n´Whistles. And since we are going to show you this month´s calendar pages on the Belles´n´Whistles blog I combined both themes - and totally loved this saying for the month of april. Time for spring cleaning!

Die Schnörkel sind aufgestickt - mit Hilfe meiner neuen InStitchz Schablonen. Dauert etwas, schaut aber wirklich toll aus. Und das Spitzendeckchen habe ich mit einem Martha Stewart Stanzer gemacht.

The flourishes are handstitched - with a little help from my new InStitchz stencils. It takes some time, but it looks great! The round lace was made using a Martha Stewart Punch.

Roses on Paper meets Belles´n´Whistles

"Punch It" lautet das Thema der neuen Challenge bei Roses On Paper. Und Ihr sollt Eure Stanzer hervorholen und darauf los stanzen. Ich habe die Schnörkel und die große Blume gestanzt. Der kleine Tag ist mit einer Stanze von Stampin´Up gemacht und die beiden kleineren Blüten sind mit den 2-Step-Punches von Nellie Snellen entstanden.

"Punch It" - that´s the theme our very own Rosette picked for the new challenge at Roses On Paper. So, get out your punches and start creating! I punched the swirls and the big flower. The little tag is a punch as well and those smaller flowers were made using a 2-step-punch by Nellie Snellen.

Und da es auf dem Belles´n´Whistles Blog Zeit für eine neue Kalenderseite wurde, habe ich beides kombiniert. Ich mag die Idee, die Kalenderdekoration nach Ablauf des Monats abzunehmen und als Karte zu versenden:

Der Stempel den ich verwendet habe ist aus der neuen Spring, Cleaning and Summer Collection von Belles´n´Whistles und heißt ganz passen "laundry". Ich mag das Lächeln, das Belle bei der Arbeit aufsetzt. Ich könnte glatt noch von Ihr lernen!
Und das Papier aus dem Nana´s Nursery Baby Boy Stack mit der im Wind flatternden Wäsche ist einfach ideal für das Motiv!

The stamp I used is from the new Spring, Cleaning and Summer Collection by Belles´n´Whistles and it´s called "laundry". I love the smile Belle is wearing while doing her housework. I really could learn from her!
And the paper vom DCWV with that laundry on a line is perfect for that image!

Roses on Paper # 32

Es ist wieder Zeit für eine neue Challenge bei Roses On Paper! Und diesmal lautet das Thema "card for a boy/male". Oh je kann ich Euch stöhnen hören... Und ich gebe es zu, auch ich habe damit immer meine Probleme. Aber nachdem ich die Idee für die obige Karte erstmal hatte, ging alles fast wie von selbst.

It´s time for a new challenge over at Roses On Paper! This week our theme is "card for a boy/male". I can hear you... And I have to admit that these are hard for me as well. But once I had the idea for my card everything came together so easily.

Das Motiv ist "Heartbreaker Edwin" von Magnolia. Ich habe silbernen Spiegelkarton mit der Cuttlebug embosst und auch das schwarze Papier ist einmal durch die Cuttlebug gedreht worden. Dazu habe ich dann mit weißer Stempelfarbe von Stampin´Up die Ränder und das Relief etwas hervorgehoben. Der Filmstreifen ist von Tim Holtz. Das "X" ist ein Chipboardbuchstabe, den ich mit silbernem Embossingpulver überzogen habe. Auch der Text - ebenfalls von Stampin´Up - ist silber embosst. Im Hintergrund habe ich ein - wohl ziemlich altes und gebraucht gekauftes - Stampin´ Wheel von Stampin Up verwendet, das ein Lineal oder einen Zollstock darstellt. Die Ränder um das Motiv und am roten Papier sind mit schwarzer Tinte distresst. Dazu dann noch ein paar Schrauben-Brads und Spiegel-Mosaik-Steinchen und die Karte war fertig.

The image is "Heartbreaker Edwin" by Magnolia. I used some silver mirror cardstock in my Cuttlebug to create that look of a metal sheet. Also the black paper was embossed and to make the texture pop out some more I added some white ink by Stampin Up. The film strip ribbon is by Tim Holtz. The "X" is a chipboard letter that I heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I used this powder for the saying - also by Stampin Up - as well. In the background I used a - quite old and used bought - stamping wheel by Stampin Up that shows a ruler. The edges around the image and the red paper are distressed with black ink. I added some screw brads and some mirror mosaic pieces to finish the card.

Und auch das Thema von Saturday Spotlight habe ich eingebaut: "mess around". Sie wollen eine "unordentliche" Karte - ich denke, so kann man es übersetzten - mit gerissenen oder distressten Kanten oder auch zerknitterten Papieren. Wenn Ihr auf die Karte klickt und sie Euch größer anschaut, kann man mein Chaos besser erkennen.

And I was able to include also the theme over at Saturday Spotlight: mess around. They want cards with teared or distressed edges or wrinkled papers. If you click on the card to see it lager you´ll be able to see the mess I made better.

Iris ist diese Woche an der Reihe, das Thema für die Challenge bei Roses On Paper zu wählen. Sie hat sich für das Thema "Valentinstag" entschieden - und sich einen wunderbaren Sketch ausgedacht, der optional dazu verwendet werden kann:

It´s Iris´ turn to choose the new theme over at Roses On Paper. She went with "valentine´s" - and also created a georgeous sketch you may but don´t have to follow:



Also ehrlich: der Sketch ist genial und ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, daß jemand ihn NICHT verwenden möchte.

Honestly: this sketch is stunning and I can´t remember anyone out there DON´T wants to use it.

Ich habe "Sweet Love", einen Stempel aus der wunderschönen Valentins-Kollektion von Belles´n´Whistles verwendet und mich farblich an die klassischen Valentins-Farben gehalten, auch wenn sie etwas blasser ausgefallen sind. Coloriert habe ich mit Copics, die Papiere sind von DCWV, der Text von Stampin´Up.

I used "Sweet Love", one of the beautiful valentine´s stamps by Belles´n´Whistles, and used mainly the those classical valentine´s colors - even if they turned out a bit softer. I colored the image with my Copics, papers are by DCWV, saying by Stampin´Up.

Bei Saturday Spotlight gilt das Motto "the music within your soul"...
Und außerdem gibt es bei Roses On Paper die Farbvorgabe Cranberry, Jägergrün und/oder Gold. Ich habe den Jäger im Wald gelassen und nur rot und gold verwendet. Einfach eine so edle Kombination. Eie Ränder rund um das Motiv und einige der Hintergrundpapiere habe ich mit goldfarbenem Embossingpulver verziert, ebenso die Papierblumen.
Das Motiv ist von aus der zweiten Weihnachtskollektion von Belles´n´Whistles und heißt "Two Turtle Doves".

At Saturday Spotlight they want to hear "the music within your soul"....
And at Roses On Paper they have a color combo of cranberry, hunter green and/or gold. I sent the hunter to the wood and only used red and gold. This is such an elegant combo! I distressed the edges around the image and on the patterned papers with some golden embossing powder, so did I with the paper flowers.
The image is from Christmas Collection II by Belles´n´Whistles and is called "Two Turtle Doves".

Magnolia-licious october and Roses On Paper # 23

Roses on Paper hat für seine Challenge # 23 ebenfalls das Thema "Halloween" gewählt. Zumindest konnte ich meine Halloween-Stempel dann wirklich gut verwenden.
Und bei Magnolia-licious ist das Thema für Oktober eine "Easel-Karte" zu gestalten. Eine Anleitung wie das geht gibt es dort natürlich auch. Die - freiwillige - Zusatzaufgabe ist dann, die Karte auch noch monochrom zu halten.
Das besondere an dieser Karte ist, daß man sie, obwohl sie ganz flach im Kuvert versendet werden kann, aufstellen kann. Auf dem ersten Bild könnt Ihr sie aufgestellt sehen.
Ich habe die süße Hexe von Magnolia verwendet und auch der Spruch und der Kürbis innen sind von Magnolia. Die süße Halloween-Schnecke ist von LeLo. Alle Papiere sind von DCWV.
Oh, und muß ich erwähnen, daß das monochrome Farbthema mir sehr entgegen kam... ;o)

Roses On Paper has also choosen the Halloween-theme for their challenge # 23. So I really am able to use my Halloween stamps this year!
At Magnolia-licious the october dare is to make an "easel card". Of course they have also a how-to tutorial posted on their blog. The - optional - extra was to make your card monochrome.
What makes this card so special is that it can stand up - allthough you can fold it completly down and mail it in a normal envelope. On the pic above it is standing up.
I used this cute witch by Magnolia - and also the sentiment and the pumpkin on the inside are by Magnolia. This cute little Halloween snail is by LeLo, all papers are by DCWV.
Oh, and do I have to mention how much I loved the monochrome extra... ;o)

Und A Spoon Full Of Sugar möchte gerne Halloween-Karten oder -Basteleien sehen.
Ich habe mich für "Tilda auf Besen" aus der neuen So Spooky Collection von Magnolia entschieden. Und dazu den tollen Text - auch von Magnolia - gewählt, der mir wirklich total gut gefällt. Und meinen Drippy Goo Punch mußte ich auch wieder verwenden... ;o)

Roses on Paper # 21 und Magnolia Down Under # 22

Ich wollte mir schon lange einen "Challenge-Kalender" machen, denn irgendwie konnte ich mir nie merken, welche Challenge nun an welchem Tag startet... Da kam das Thema "anything but a card" von Magnolia Down Under gerade recht.
Und bei Roses On Paper heißt es diese Woche "stitching". Richtig geraten, Nähte jeder Art sind gefragt. Und wer gerne Gast-Designer für Belles´n´Whistles werden möchte, sollte ganz schnell bei dieser Challenge mitmachen, denn es ist Eure letzte Chance Euch als Gastdesigner zu bewerben.
Ich habe "Tilda mit Schürze" aus der Oster-Kollektion ausgewählt und ein kleines Album, das ich mit der Bind-it-all gebastelt habe, damit verziert. Darin gibt es für jeden Tag der Woche eine Seite, auf der ich die jeweiligen Challenges notiere. In hellblau habe ich auf jede Seite - jedesmal an einer anderen Stelle und in eine andere Richtung - den Schnörkel von Magnolia platziert und einen Teil auch auf die Tabs an der Seite gestempelt.
Die Vorderseite habe ich mit Scabbles-Buchstaben ("challenges" hat leider nicht hingepaßt) beschriftet und rundherum ein paar Embellishments angebracht. Der Ticket-Stempel ist von Autumn Leaves.

I wanted to make myself a challenge calendar since ages because somehow I wasn´t able to remember which challenge starts which day. So the "anything but a card"-theme over at Magnolia Down Under was exactly what I needed for it.
And Roses On Paper is asking for "stitching" this week. You guessed it right, any kind of stitching is possible. And if you want to be a guest designer for Belles´n´Whistles head on over to Roses on Paper and join the challenge because it is your last chance to aply for a guest DT spot.
I used "Tilda with apron" from Magnolia´s easter collection and used her to decorate a little album that I made with my Bind-It-All. Inside there is one sheet for each day of the week where I can write down the challenges that start this day. I used a light blue color to stamp the flourish - by Magnolia as well - on the inner pages, each time on a different place and direction and used different parts of it to decorate the tabs as well.
The titel on the front is made using scrabble letters (the word "challenges" didn´t fit) and placed some embellishments around my image. The ticket stamp is by Autumn Leaves.

So, und zu guter Letzt möchte ich mit Euch noch die absolute Super-Nachricht des Tages teilen: Summer von Belles´n´Whistles hat Lynda, Lilian und mich gefragt, ob wir einen dauerhaften Platz in ihrem DT haben wollen. Ich bin vor Freude auf und ab gehüpft und kann nur sagen: ja, ja, ja! Damit ist ein Traum für mich wahr geworden und ich kann Euch nicht sagen, wie sehr ich mich freue weiter in diesem tollen Team und für diese wunderbare Firma designen zu dürfen! Roses on Paper hat eine wunderschöne, für mich aber ziemlich hart umsetzbare Farbkombi für uns ausgesucht: hellblau, lavendel und creme. Aber wenn ich mir das Ergebnis anschaue, dann sollte ich damit öfter arbeiten!
Ich habe meine Karte nach dem Sketch der Challenge # 68 von A Spoon Full Of Sugar gearbeitet:

Ich bin zurück und hier ist wie versprochen die erste Karte nach dem Urlaub. Vielleicht muß ich erst wieder "reinkommen"... LOL
Diese Karte habe ich für die Stamp With Fun Challenge # 22 gemacht, bei der es folgenden Sketch gibt:

Außerdem ist die Karte auch für die Roses On Paper Challenge # 19. Das Thema dort lautet: Kombiniere Deine Stanzer mit einer Sketch-Challenge Deiner Wahl.
Das Image ist von Belles´n´Whistles - und ich finde es einen tollen Zufall, daß bei beiden Challenges für die ich diese Karte gemacht habe, Stempel von genau dieser wunderbaren Firma zu gewinnen sind! Ich habe mein Motiv auf Schrumpffolie gestempelt. Leider ist diese mehr geschrumpft als ich dachte, so daß das Motiv jetzt ziemlich klein ist obwohl der Stempel in Echt-Größe wirklich sehr groß ist! Aber mir gefällt der schwarz-weiß-silber Look sehr gut!

The image I used is by Belles´n´Whistles - and I think it is wonderful that both challenges I made this card for are offering one of their beautiful stamps as a prize! I stamped my image on shrink foil. Unfortunately it shrinked more than I expected and so the image is quite small - allthough it is a really big one in original size. But I love the black-white-silver combo on my card.

Und Roses on Paper hat für die Challenge # 18 eine Farbkombi für uns ausgewählt: orange, braun und ein warmes rot, also die wunderbaren Farben des Herbstes.
Mein Motiv ist von Sarah Kay und heißt "Lucy and Kitty". Die Blätter auf der Karte habe ich mal im 1-€-Laden gekauft und ich dachte, etwas Bast unterstreicht den Herbstlook noch etwas. Der Spruch ist ein Teil eines größeren Stempels von Studio G.

My image is by Sarah Kay and is called "Lucy and Kitty". The leaves on the card are something I bought in the dollar store long time ago. And I thought some bast would make my card even more fallish. The sentiment is only a part of a larger Studio G stamp.

Dann gibt es bei Stamp With Fun das Thema Perlen - ich habe herzförmige Perlen in die Mitte der Blümchen gesetzt.

Then there is the theme pearls for the new challenge over at Stamp With Fun - I used some heartshaped ones in the middle of the flowers.

Und zu guter letzt hat Roses On Paper noch das Thema "love" - bringt irgendwo auf Eurer Karte ein Herz unter. Bei mir sind es gleich ein paar geworden: neben dem Text (von Stampin´Up), in der Schürze von Tilda (von Magnolia) und wie schon erwähnt in der Mitte der Blumen. Dort gibt es übrigens einen ganz besonderen Preis diese Woche - als schaut unbedingt vorbei!

Mir fiel dieses süße Sarah Kay Motiv in die Hände. Den Rittersporn, der um sie herum blüht, habe ich mit Flower Soft "Summer" bestreut. Alle Ränder wurden mit Kreide bearbeitet und hinterher auf alt getrimmt, meine Nähmaschine hat alles zusammengefügt. Ein paar Blüten und Blätter dazu, und der Sommerlook ist perfekt. Und um die Karte noch sommerlicher erscheinen zu lassen hat beim fotografieren auch noch die Sonne darauf geschienen...

I came across this cute Sarah Kay image. The flowers around her were covered with Flower Soft "Summer". I inked up the edges and then distressed them, my sewing machine fixed everything on its place. After adding a few flowers and leaves my summer look was perfect. And to top it off the sun shined on my card while taking the picture...

Just Magnolia first weekly challenge und Roses on Paper Challenge #14

Just Magnolia hat nicht nur die wöchentlichen "normalen" challenges - es gibt jetzt auch zweimal im Monat eine Extra-Challenge. Und dort ist auch der Preis extra. Diesmal geht es darum, eine Box, Verpackung, Schachtel, Dose zu verzieren. Dabei spielt es keine Rolle was für eine Verpackung das ist. Es kann von der gekauften Dose bis hin zur leeren Müsli-Schachtel alles verwendet werden.
Roses on Paper hat ein einfaches wie auch geniales Thema: jede andere Challenge. Häh? Macht einfach bei einer Challenge eines anderen Blogs mit und postet die Karte auch für Roses on Paper. Die einzigen Bedingungen: es müssen Papierblumen mit verwendet werden und Stempel von entweder Magnolia, Alota, Rachelle Ann Miller, Sarah Kay oder Greeting Farm.
Ich habe eine Gewürzdose mit magnetischer Rückseite von Ikea verwendet. Ich bewahre in solchen Dosen meine diversen Kleinteile auf, aber auf der Magnettafel war für diese eine Dose kein Platz mehr. Jetzt werde ich sie mit einer Überraschung füllen und sie einer lieben Freundin schicken - Namen werden keine verraten. Das Motiv ist von Magnolia. Ich habe das Röckchen mit etwas gerafftem Tüll beklebt, um den Rock "echter" zu machen.
Gleichzeitig läuft bei Roses on Paper derzeit ein Guest DT Call für die neue Stempelfirma "Belles n Whistles", die unter anderem exklusive Stempel von Elisabeth Bell vertreiben wird.

Just Magnolia is not only setting their weekly "normal" challenges but from now on there will also be a special challenge every other week. And also the prizes are special.
For their first special challenge they want us to alter a container. No matter if you use a box, a tin, a paper bag, a plastic tub... Whatever you can come up with. And you don´t need to buy something - you can also use an empty box somewhere from your household.

I altered one of these tins with a magnetic backing from Ikea. I store my embellishments and other small stuff in their but this single tin didn´t fit my magnetic board anymore. Now I decorated it, will fill it with some goodies and send it to a special friend. No names will be told! The image is by Magnolia. I used some tulle on her skirt to make it look even more real.
