Die heutige Karte ist schon vor einiger Zeit entstanden, ich komme aber erst jetzt dazu, sie Euch zu zeigen. Meine Bestellung von TheGreetery war nämlich angekommen und da musste ich unbedingt nochmal eine Karte mit den Rolling Hills machen. Allerdings konnte ich mich nicht so recht  entscheiden, ob meine Landschaft in der Toskana oder in the Provence sein soll. Und so trifft nun Italien auf Frankreich.

I made today's card some time ago but didn't have time to share it with you. My order from TheGreetery had arrived and I just had to make another card with the Rolling Hills die. But I just couldn't decide if I wanted those to be in Tuscany or in Provence. And so Italy is  meeting France on my card.

 

In dem neuen Release gab es eine Embossingfolder, der zur Rolling Hills Stanze passt. Okay, nicht ganz - er ist nicht so breit wie die kompletten Hügel, da die  ja auch auf eine querformatige Karte passt. Aber das sieht man so gut wie nicht. Ich habe mit dem Embossingfolder ein Stück hellblauen Cardstocks embosst, den Himmel zart mit Distress Ink Tumbled Glass gewischt und dann ein weißes Pigment-Stempelkissen auf die Wolken gedrückt, nur um sie ein klein wenig mehr hervorzuheben. 

 

In this new release there is an embossing folder, that goes with the Rolling Hills die.  Well, nearly - it's not as wide as the die since that also fits a landscape oriented card. But you can hardly tell that on my card. I dry embossed a piece of light blue cardstock with it and lightly shaded the sky with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass. Then I pressed a white pigment ink pad onto the clouds, just to bring them out a bit more.

 

 Für den unteren Bereich der Karte habe ich die Rolling Hills ausgestanzt - einmal aus weißem und einmal aus gelbem Cardstock. Dann habe ich die Teile erst mit dem Embossingfolder geprägt und dann die passenden Stencils verwendet und die Hügel gewischt. Bei dem gelben Stück habe ich einfach die schmalen Streifen mit einem dunkleren Gelbton eingefärbt und kleine Punkte mit einem  hellbraunen Fineliner aufgetragen, um dem Feld etwas Struktur zu geben. 

Bei dem weißen Stanzteil habe ich den hintersten Hügel weggeschnitten und dann alles grün und lila gewischt. Es sollte so aussehen wie ein Lavendelfeld. Um den Look hervorzuheben habe ich lilafarbene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt. 

Außerdem habe ich mit dem Rolling Hills Bella Terra Addition Stempelset und den dazugehörigen Stanzen zwei Reihen Blumen gestaltet. Den weißen Cardstock, auf den ich alles gestempelt habe,  habe ich nach dem Stempeln etwas grün und lila gewischt. Für alle Lavendelfelder und die  Blumen habe ich Distress Ink Wilted Violett, Villaoinous Postion, Mowed Lawn und Rustic Wilderness verwendet. 

Der süße Cinquecento mitsamt Sonnenschirm ist von Charlie und Paulchen aus deren Estate Italiana Kollektion. Ich fand, die beiden Reihen passen einfach super zusammen. Ich habe ihn aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Alkoholmarkern coloriert. Dann habe ich ihn zwischen den Hügeln aufgeklebt. Ja, so ein Cinquecento kann auch Offroad... ;)

Ganz unten links habe ich dann noch meinen Text aufgeklebt. Dafür habe ich einen der Texte aus dem Bella Terra Set weiß auf lilafarbenen Cardstock embosst und mit der passenden Stanze ausgestanzt. 

 

For the bottom of my card I die cut the Rolling Hills - once from yellow and once from white cardstock. Then I put them in the embossingfolder, ran it through my Big Shot and then used the matching stencil set to ink the hills. On the yellow part I just inked the thin stripes and used a light brown fineliner to add somme tiny dots to the strips, giving the field some structure. 

I cut off the hill in the very back from the white piece and inked everything in purple and green. I wanted it to look like a lavender field. To make this look a bit more realistic I splattered purple metallic watercolor onto those hills. 

I also created some rows of flowers using the Rolling Hills Bella Terra Additions set. After I had done the  stamping I inked the cardstock around the stamped flowers purple and green, just to not have the white edges in my scene. For the lavender fields and the flowers I used Distress Ink Wilted Violett, Villaoinous Potion, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. 

The cute car - a Fiat Cinquecento - is by  Charlie  and Paulchen, from their Estate Italiana series. I just thought those two  lines work together perfectly. I die  cut it from white cardstock and colored it with alcohol markers. Then I glued it between the lavender fields. And yes, this Cinquecento also can go off road.... ;)

In the bottom left I added my text. I white heat embossed one from the Bella Terra set onto a piece of dark purple cardstock, then cut it out with the matching die. 

 

 Hinten  auf dem gelben Hügel steht  dann ein schönes altes  Landhaus. Das ist mit dem Countryside Villa Mini Stanzenset gemacht. Ich habe auf das Haus einige Mauersteine aufgemalt. Außerdem habe  ich die kleinen Blumen aus dem Market Place Celebration Street Set vor die Fenster geklebt. Ich habe jeweils ein grünes und ein lilafarbenes  Stanzteil gedreht aufeinander geklebt.

Rund um das Haus stehen Zypressen, ebenfalls aus dem Countryside Villa  Mini Set. Sie sind  aus dunkelgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Forest Moss im untere Bereich ein wenig schattiert. 

Und auch wenn es mir schwerfiel, habe ich hier bewusst auf weiße Highlights verzichtet - und der Look gefällt mir echt gut. 

 

In the back, on top of those yellow hills, there's an old villa, made with the Countryside Villa Mini die set. I drew some bricks onto the house and put the small flowers from Market Place Celebration Street in front of the windows. For each flower cluster I stacked a purple and a green diecut, turning one of them upside down. 

Around the house there are some tall cypresses, also  from the Countryside Villa Mini set. I die cut them from dark green cardstock and shaded the bottom with a bit of Forest Moss. 

And even if it was kind of hard for me - I didn't add any  white highlights to the house or trees. And I really  like  the look.

 

 Durch das Embossen und Layern hat die Karte schon einiges and Dimension und Dicke. Ich habe nur den Text mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt. Als Deko habe ich drei kleine weiße Herzen aufgeklebt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich alles  auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt.

 

With the embossing and layering this card has already some dimension. I only backed the text with thin foam tape. As decoration I added three white clay  hearts.

Then I glued the card panel onto a white note card.

 

Technique Throwback Thursday Dezember 2025

Auch im Dezember gibt es eine Technique Throwback Thursday Challenge. Das Video, das diesmal Thema ist, ist tatsächlich schon 8 Jahre alt, aber das sieht man der Technik mal so gar nicht an. Es geht um Tags mit 3D Dekoration und das tolle ist, dass man quasi jedes symmetrische Stanzteil für die Technik nutzen kann.

Of course there is a Technique Throwback Thursday challenge also in december. The video, that's this month's theme, is actually 8 years old but those  techniques never go outdated.  The video is about making tags with a 3D decoration and the great thing is, that you can use  any symmetrical die cut for it.

 

Nun, meine Weihnachtstags sind fertig, also habe ich ein paar kleine Tags als Neujahrsgrüße gestaltet, die ich noch an kleine Piccolo-Flaschen binden werde. Und wie Ihr seht, konnte ich mich nicht für  ein Motiv entscheiden. Zuerst wusste ich gar nicht so recht, was ich nehmen sollte/könnte, aber  also ich erstmal  auf die Suche nach zum Thema passenden symmetrischen Stanzen gemacht habe, kamen mir die Ideen nur so zugeflogen. Ich hatte da tatsächlich noch einige mehr, habe mich dann aber für diese drei Motive entschieden.

Als Basis für die Tags kamen jeweils Elemente aus dem Fold Up Tags Set von MFT zum Einsatz und auch sonst wiederholen sich einige Elemente. 

 

Well, my christmas tags are done, so I made some smaller tags with some new year's greetings. I will tie those to little champagne bottles. And as you can see I wasn't able to pick just one element for my decorations. At first I wasn't sure, what would work theme-wise and for the technique. But once I started digging for symmetrical dies the options started to pile up. I decided to go with these three elements.

As base for the tags I used different dies from Fold Up Tags by MFT and some other elements are repeated, too. 

 

 Für den ersten Tag habe ich die Basis aus weißem Cardstock, den kleinen oberen Teil aus matt-goldenem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt.

Für die Deko  habe ich eine Sektflasche gestaltet - die passt zu Silvester ja immer. Ich habe sie mit der Sektflaschen-Stanze von Kulricke aus dunkelgrünem Cardstock gestanzt und den oberen Teil jeweils mit einem goldenen Gelstift angemalt. Um den Flaschenhals habe ich etwas weißes Twine gewickelt und zur Schleife gebunden. Das Label ist wieder aus dem goldenen Metallic-Cardstock gemacht und mit einem kleinen Kleeblatt sowie einem weißen Herz dekoriert. Und weil das weiße Tag später etwas zu leer wirkte, habe ich noch einen Mini-Tag an die Flasche geklebt. Der ist aus schwarzem Cardstock, mit einem weißen Gelstift habe ich per Hand 2026 daraufgeschrieben.

Unter der Flasche habe ich quer ein Happy New Year aufgeklebt. Das ist mit dem Grußtexte Weihnachtlich Set von Charlie und Paulchen wieder aus matt-goldenem Cardstock gemacht. Und hier wird der Text in den Cardstock hinein- aber nicht ausgestanzt. 

Oben am Tag habe ich dann noch eine grüne Schleife aus dem Ornamental Tags Set von TheGreetery aufgeklebt. Dabei habe ich den oberen Teil der Schleife aufgedoppelt und dazwischen das weiße Twine, das ich durch das Loch im Tag gefädelt habe, eingefasst.

 

For the first tag I created the base from white cardstock, the smaller top from matte-gold metallic cardstock.

For the decorations I created a champagne bottle - that always works for New Year's Eve. I made that from dark green cardstock using the Sektflasche die by Kulricke and used a gold gel pen to color the top of the bottle. I wrapped some white twine around the neck of the botle and tied it to a bow. The label I cut again from the gold metallic cardstock and decorated it with a small clover and a white clay heart. And because the white base tag seemed a bit empty later on I cut a small tag from black cardstock and wrote 2026 onto it with a white gel pen.

Under the bottle I adhered a banner with a Happy New Year greeting. I made that using the Grußtexte Weihnachtlich die set by Charlie und Paulchen, cutting it from matte gold cardstock again. Here the text gets cut into but not out of the cardstock.

To the top of the tag I added a green bow from Ornamental Tags by TheGreetery. I doubled up the top of the bow and glued the white twine, that I put through the hole in the tag, between the two bow layers.

 

 Ich habe mich übrigens bewusst für eher flache Motive entschieden weil ich nicht wollte, dass sie zu sehr aufstehen. 

Mit einem goldenen Gelstift habe ich dann noch einen Rahmen auf den weißen Tag gemalt.

 

I picked quite flat images on purpose for my tags because I didn't want them to get too bulky.

With a gold gel pen I drew a frame onto the white tag.

 

 Bei meinem zweiten Tag habe ich die Basis aus schwarzem, den oberen Teil aus dem goldenen Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt.

Als Deko habe ich mich diesmal für einen kleinen Glückspilz entschieden. Der ist mit dem kleineren Pilz aus dem Set Happy Mushrooms von LawnFawn, den Fuß habe ich ein wenig gekürzt.

Auf die einzelnen Lagen des Huts habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift Punkte aufgemalt, um den Fuß habe ich wieder weißes Twine gewickelt. 

Die übrigen Elemente sind identisch zum ersten Tag, die Schleife habe ich diesmal aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt.

 

For my second tag I cut the base from black, the top piece from gold metallic cardstock.

As decoration I created a little mushroom. I used the smaller mushroom from Happy Mushrooms by LawnFawn here and cut the bottom piece a bit shorter.  

I added little white dots to the hat pieces using a white gel pen and wrapped some white twine around the stem again.

The other elements are identical to the first tag, the bow I cut from red cardstock here.

 

 Das kleine weiße Herz habe ich diesmal neben dem Pilz auf den Tag geklebt und zum Schluss wieder einen Rahmen mit einem goldenem Gelstift aufgemalt.

 

I glued the little white heart next to the mushroom onto the tag and used a gold gel pen to draw a frame onto the tag.

 

 Und bei meinem letzten Tag war ich mir gar nicht sicher, ob das mit dem Motiv so klappen würde. Ich habe es einfach probiert und auch ein Zylinder passt für die Technik.

Basis und oberer Teil des Tags sind hier aus schwarzem Cardstock, dazwischen habe ich eine bannerförmige Tag-Lage aus rotem Cardstock eingebaut.

Der Zylinder ist aus dem Set Build-a-Snowman von LawnFawn. Ich habe einen Streifen roten Cardstocks um den Zylinder gewickelt und mit einem kleinen Kleeblatt sowie weißem Twine dekoriert. 

Die Schleife ist hier aus dem goldenen Metallic-Cardstock gemacht.

 

For my last tag I wasn't sure if the image would really work. I simply tried it and yes, a top hat works pretty well, too.

I cut the base and top of the tag from black cardstock and added a banner shaped tag layer cut from red cardstock inbetween.

The top hat is from Build-a-Snowman by LawnFawn.  I wrapped  a thin strip of red cardstock around it and decorated it with a small clover and some white twine.

The bow I made from gold metallic cardstock here.

 

 Das kleine weiße Herz habe ich hier auf den Textstreifen gesetzt und darunter ein kleines weißes Tag, auf das ich mit einem goldenen Gelstift 2026 geschrieben habe, festgeklebt.

Und auch hier habe ich Rahmen mit einem goldenen Gelstift aufgemalt, diesmal auf beide Tags.

 

I glued the white clay heart onto the text strip here and tucked a little white tag, that I wrote 2026 with a gold gel pen onto, under it.

And again I drew a frame with a gold gel pen, this time onto both of the layered tags.

 

SimonSaysStamp IG Challenge im November

Jeden Monat gibt es von SimonSaysStamp eine Challenge auf Instagram. Diesen Monat lautet das Thema Handmade Holiday Magic. Es geht also um Karten zum Thema Weihnachten. Und auch wenn ich so ziemlich jede Karte, die ich Euch die nächste Zeit hier auf meinem Blog zeige, als Beiträg nehmen könnte, so finde ich es doch immer schön, eine Karte extra für die Challenge zu machen. Alles andere fühlt sich immer ein wenig wie cheaten an. Und hier ist sie nun, meine Karte für die November-Challenge.

Every month SimonSaysStamp does a challenge on Instagram. This month the theme is Handmade Holiday Magic. So it's all about christmas cards. I could use any of the cards I'll share with you those coming weeks as my entry but I always like to make an extra card, just for the challenge. Everything else feels like cheating to me. And here it is, my entry for the november challenge.

 

Den Hintergrund habe ich aus dunkelgrauem Cardstock gemacht. In den habe ich erst mit einem Prägefolder von Charlie und Paulchen den Text Fröhliche Weihnachten eingeprägt. Die Ränder habe ich mit Distress Ink Black Soot gewischt und dann perlweißes Gilding Wax auf die erhabenen Stellen der Prägung aufgetragen. So kann man sie besser sehen, gleichzeitig schadet ein wenig Schimmer auf einer Weihnachtskarte natürlich nie. Anschließend habe ich noch weiße Acrylfarbe auf den Hintergrund gespritzt. 

 

The background is made from dark grey cardstock. I first used an embossing folder by Charlie und Paulchen to emboss lines with a merry christmas text into the cardstock. I inked the edges with Distress Ink Black Soot and then dabbed some pearl white Gilding Wax onto the raised areas. This brings out the text better, and some shimmer never hurts a christmas card. Then I also splattered some white acrylic paint onto the background.

 

 In die süßen Weihnachtsmänner habe ich mich sofort verliebt. Habt Ihr bemerkt, dass es sogar drei verschiedene sind? Und einer schaut freundlicher und fröhlicher als der andere. 

Sie sind mit dem Santa Faces Embossingfolder von SimonSaysStamp gemacht, der mit passenden Stanzen kommt. So kann man die Köpfe erst stanzen, dann prägen. Natürlich kann man auch ein komplettes Stück Cardstock embossen - dann sind neben den Weihnachtsmännern  noch Schneeflocken in den Cardstock geprägt. Allerdings passte die Anordnung für das, was mir vorschwebte, nicht. Also habe ich nur die Gesichter benutzt.

Ich habe alle drei Gesichter mit Copics coloriert und dann mit Polychromos einige Details hervorgehoben. Die Augen habe ich mit einem braunen Fineliner nachgemalt.

Aus schräg rot-weiß gestreiftem Designpapier, das mich and Zuckerstangen erinnert, habe ich drei H ausgestanzt, eines davon ist etwas niedriger als die anderen beiden. Die schwarzen Schattenlagen habe ich per Hand geschnitten. 

Mit den H und den Santa-Köpfen habe ich dann jeweils das Wort HO geschrieben und sie untereinander auf dem Hintergrund angeordnet.

Mit der mittleren Größe der Simple Wavy Banners von LawnFawn habe ich aus hellgrauem Cardstock ein Banner ausgestanzt und dann mit schwarzer Tinte einen Weihnachtsgruß aufgestempelt. Der ist aus dem Here We Go A-Waddeling Set von LawnFawn und ist bereits kurvig gestaltet. Ich musste nur die Enden ein wenig verbiegen, so dass sie zu den Rundungen des Banners passen. Das Banner mit dem Gruß habe ich dann quer über die Karte, über und unter den Weihnachtsmännern, aufgeklebt.

 

As soon as I saw those cute Santas I fell in love with them. Did you notice that there are three different ones? And they all look so friendly and happy.

I made those using the Santa Faces embossing folder by SimonSaysStamp, that also comes with a matching die. You can first die cut the heads and then emboss them. Of course you can also emboss a whole card sized piece of cardstock - then there are  not only the Santa faces but also some snowflakes embossed into your cardstock. But the way those faces are arranged on the folder didn't work with what I had in mind, so I only used the faces.

I colored all faces with Copics, then added some details with Polychromos. To draw/trace the eyes I used a brown fineliner.

From patterned paper with slanted red and white stripes, that reminds me of candy canes, I die cut three Hs, one of them a bit smaller than the other ones. I cut the black shadow layers behind the letters with my scissors.

I combined one H and one head to write the word HO three times and arranged those on the background. 

Using the middle sized die from the Simple Wavy Banners by LawnFawn I cut a banner from light grey cardstock and stamped a christmas greeting onto it using black ink. The text is from Here We Go A-Waddeling by LawnFawn and already designed curvy. I only had to bend the ends a bit to make the text fit perfectly onto the banner. I glued the banner with the greeting across the card, placing it under and above the Santa faces.

 

 Ich habe die Buchstaben direkt auf den Hintergrund, die Santas und das Banner mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Nur hinter dem Santa in der Mitte befindet sich dickeres 3D Tape. 

Rund um die Motive habe ich dann einige Sterne aus weißem Cardstock aufgeklebt und dann das Kartenpanel auf einen weißen Kartenrohling aufgeklebt.  

 

I glued the letteres directly onto the background, the Santas and the banner I backed with foam tape. There's thick foam tape behind the Santa in the center only.

I added some stars, cut from white cardstock, to the background and then glued the card panel onto a white card base.

 

Picture Frame Card zum Laternenfest

Manchmal habe ich so gar keine Ahnung, was ich basteln möchte oder könnte. Dann gehe ich auf der Suche nach Inspiration gerne meine Stanzen oder Stempel durch. Als es das letzte Mal so weit war, habe ich die Panorama-Stanzen entdeckt. Davon habe ich recht viele - sowohl die von Charlie und Paulchen als auch die ähnlichen Sets von Action - und so haben sie eine eigene "Abteilung" in meinem Stanzenschrank. Aber irgendwie übersehe ich sie immer. Diesmal habe ich sie bewusst angeschaut und beim Anblick der Laternenkinder ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich dieses Jahr noch gar keine Karte zum St.-Martins-Tag gemacht habe. In den letzten Jahren habe ich immer rund um den St-Martins-Tag eine Karte mit irgendeiner Art von Laterne gemacht. Und so war die Idee zu dieser Karte geboren.

Sometimes I have no idea what I want to make. So as inspiration I go through my stamps and dies. Last time, when I was a bit clueless about my next card, I came across the panorama dies. I have quite a lot of them - by Charlie und Paulchen as well as the similar sets from Action - and so they have their own "section" in my die stash. But somehow I tend to overlook them. Last time I went through them and when I saw the kids with the lanterns I realized, that I hadn't made a St.-Martin card yet this year. St.-Martin-day is on 11th of november, so it's today, and traditionally the smaller kids walk the streets with lit up lanterns they made theirselves in Kindergarden. They sing St.-Martin songs, read the story of holy St. Martin (most of the times even play the story) and afterwards come together to have some hot drinks and food. The last years I always made a card, that included some kind of lantern, showing it around St.-Martin day. And that's how I got the idea for today's card.

 

 Nun, im ersten Moment sieht man von den Laternen gar nicht so viel - nur durch das Fenster, das ich in die Kartenfront eingebaut habe. Und eigentlich ist das auch gar keine Karte, sondern eher ein Bilderrahmen...

Ich habe über den Bilderrahmen, den Ihr gleich noch sehen werdet, eine Klappe aus blau-grauem Cardstock gelegt, aus dem ich ein Rechteck, etwas kleiner als das Fenster, ausgeschnitten habe.

Auf den Cardstock habe ich mit einem grauen Marker Linien gemalt. Die sind aber doch nach dem Trocknen ziemlich verblasst, ich wollte aber keinen dunkleren Marker nehmen, da ich Angst hatte, dass der dann durch den Cardstock blutet. Also habe ich stattdessen einen dünnen weißen Gelstift benutzt und auf jeden grauen Streifen noch einen schmalen weißen Strich aufgemalt. 

Um die Karte geschlossen zu halten habe ich links und rechts vom Fenster jeweils gelb-goldenes Band angeklebt, um die Karte gewickelt und rechts zu einer Schleife gebunden. 

 

Well, you don't see much of the lanterns at first sight - just a glimpse through the window that I included in the card front. And actually it's not even a real card but more of a picture frame...

I covered the frame, that you'll see more of just a bit later, with a flap made from grey-ish blue cardstock. From this flap I cut a rectangle slightly smaller than the window.

I used a grey marker to draw lines onto the card front. After the ink had dried the color had lightened pretty much but I didn't dare using a darker tone, being afraid it might bleed through the cardstock. So instead I brought out a thin white gel pen and drew a white line onto each grey strip. 

To keep the card closed I glued some gold-yellow ribbon to the left and right of the window,  wrapped it around the frame and tied it to a bow at the right edge.

 

 Aus weißem Cardstock habe ich mit der Window Frame Stanze von LawnFawn zweimal das Fenster aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. Hinter eines der Fenster habe ich Folie geklebt und dann jeweils eines auf jeder Seite des grau-blauen Cardstocks aufgeklebt.

Die Vorhänge sind mit der Take the Stage Stanze von MFT gemacht. Ich habe sie oben ein wenig gekürzt, die aus dem LawnFawn-Set finde ich für das Fenster aber viel zu kurz. Ich habe sie aus hellgrauem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. Die Vorhangstange und die Halter habe ich aus silbernem Spiegelcardstock gestanzt.  

Und mein Fenster brauchte natürlich auch etwas Deko. Die ist mit Stanzen aus einem Stanzenset von Action gemacht - eigentlich ist es Kamindeko. Die Kerzenhalter sind aus mattsilbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt. Und um die Sterne am Fenster aufzuhängen, habe ich jeweils zwei Sterne aufeinander geklebt und dazwischen ein Stück dunkelblauen Metallic-Faden geklebt. Das obere Ende des Fadens habe ich an aus dunkelblauem Cardstock gestanzten Schleife befestigt und die dann auf die Vorhangstange geklebt.  

 

From white cardstock I die cut two of the windows using the Window Frame die by LawnFawn, then shaded them with Copics. I put acetate behind one of the windows, then adhered one onto each side of the blue cardstock. 

The curtains are made with the Take the Stage die set by MFT. I cut off a bit at the top, but the ones included in the set by LawnFawn are jut way too short for that window. I cut the curtains from light grey cardstock and shaded them with Copics, too. The curtain rod and the holders on the sides I cut from silver mirror cardstock.

And my window needed a bit of decoration. I made it using a die set by Action - originally it's meant to decorated a fireplace. I cut the candle holders from matte silver metallic cadrstock. To hang the stars I cut stacked two of the stars, putting a piece of dark blue metallic thread inbetween. The other end I glued behind some bows, that I cut from dark blue cardstock, and glued them onto the curtain rods.

 

 Hier kann man die Folie hinter dem Fenster besser erkennen. 

Ich habe die oberen und unteren Rahmenteile des Fensters aufgedoppelt und mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Hinter den Vorhängen befindet sich dickes 3D Tape. 

 

Here you can see the acteate behind the window a lot better.

I doubled up the top and bottom piece of the window, adhering the second layer with thin foam tape. Behind the curatins I put some thick foam tape.

 

 Und so sieht die Karte aus, wenn man sie öffnet.

Auf der linken Seite habe ich einige grau-blaue Mauersteine aufgemalt. Und auf die Scheibe habe entlang des Fensterrahmens etwas der Chunky Flakes von Ranger aufgeklebt. Die sehen, von außen durch die Scheibe gesehen, aus wie auf die Scheibe gefrorene Eiskristalle.

Den Rahmen auf der rechten Seite habe ich aus schwarzem Cardstock mit dem Shadow Box Punch Board von We R Makers gemacht.  Im Nachhinein fällt mir ein, dass ich die Hinge-Stanzen auch habe, aber hier gefällt mir die Klappe wegen des Fensters eh besser.

 

And this is what the card looks like opened.

On the  left side I drew some grey-blue bricks onto the wall. And along the inner window frame I glued some Chunky Flakes by Ranger onto the acteate. Seen from the other side those look like ice crystals, frozen to the window pane. 

The frame on the right side I made from black cardstock using the Shadow Box Punch Board by We R Makers.  I just now realize that I also have the hinge punches, but here I like the flap better anyway.

 

 Und im Inneren des Rahmens ist dann auch die Laternenszene zu sehen, für die die Panorama-Stanzen von Charlie und Paulchen zum Einsatz kamen. Ich habe sie jeweils nur unten gerade abgeschnitten, normalerweise sind die Panorama-Szenen ja rund.

Ganz im Hintergrund befindet sich eine Lage dunkelblauen Cardstocks, auf den ich Sterne mit goldener Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt habe.

Davor befinden sich einige Hochhäuser.  Ich habe hier drei Häuser nebeneinander geklebt, die Fenster sind mit dunkelblauem Cardstock hinterlegt.

Wieder davor stehe eine Reihe eher kleinstädtischer Häuser. Die sind aus grau-braunem Cardstock gestanzt. Außerdem habe ich sie aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und hier jeweils mit der Schere die Fenster und die Dächer schmal ausgeschnitten und auf die kompletten Häuser geklebt. Die Fenster habe ich mit grau-blauem, die Durchgänge am unteren Ende einiger der Häuser mit schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt.

Zwischen zwei Lagen hellgrauen Cardstocks, der hier die Straßen bildet, habe ich dann die Laternenkinder gesetzt. Auch die sind aus grauem Cardstock, nur die Laternen habe ich aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt. Die Stäbe der Laternen habe ich mit einem schwarzen Glaze Pen nachgemalt. 

Unten auf die höhere Straßenlage - und bei geschlossener Karte nicht zu sehen - habe ich dann noch einen Text aufgestempelt. Der ist aus dem Set Licht An von Create a Smile und mit schwarzer Tinte direkt auf den Cardstock gestempelt. Ich fand, der passt so schön zur Szene.

Als Deko habe ich die Häuser und Straßen ein klein wenig mit dem Distress Rock Candy Glitter von Ranger "vereist". Neben den Text habe ich drei goldene Sterne geklebt.

 

And inside the frame there is my lantern scene, that I used the panorama dies by Charlie und Paulchen for. I just cut them straigt at the bottom - usually they have a circle shape.

In the background I glued some dark blue cardstock into the frame. With gold metallic watercolor I splattered some stars onto it.

Then I added a row of tall houses. I put three of the die cuts next to each other and backed the windows with dark blue cardstock. 

In front of those there is a row of smaller, small town houses. I cut those from grey-ish brown cardstock. I also cut them from black cardstock and used my scissors to cut out the windows and roofs. I glued those onto the houses. The windows I backed with grey-ish blue cardstock and put black cardstocks behind the arches at the bottom of some of the houses. 

Between two layers of light grey cardstock, that make the ground here, I put the kids with their lanterns. Again I cut those from grey cardstock, using yellow cardstock just for the lanterns. I covered the lantern sticks with a black Glaze pen. 

At the very bottom of the larger ground layer - and not visible when the card is closed - I added a text. It means "you glow so wonderfully" and is from a set by Create a Smile. I stamped the text directly onto the cardstock using black ink. I thought, the text goes great with the scene.

As decoration I covered the houses and streets with just a bit of Distress Rock Candy Glitter to give them a bit of an icy look. Next to the text I added three gold star confetti.

 

 Zwischen jeder Lage der Szene befindet sich dickes 3d Tape, so dass die Szene eine tolle Tiefe bekommt. Eigentlich wollte ich noch eine kleine Lichterkette einbauen, die die Szene beleuchtet, aber die Lichter waren auf den Drähten so weit auseinander, dass das nicht wirklich geklappt hat. Also habe ich die Idee wieder verworfen.

 

I put thick foam tape beetween the layers to give the scene some depth. Originally I also had planned to include a battery operated string of lights  to make the scene light up. But the little lights were so far from each other, that it didn't work out. So I skipped that idea.

 

Weihnachtsgruß unter der Glocke

Ich hatte Euch am 2.11. ja  bereits davor gewarnt, dass ab sofort die Weihnachtsbastelsaison offiziell eröffnet ist. Und so zeige ich Euch heute gleich die nächste Weihnachtskarte.

On november 2nd I already warned all of you  that christmas card season has officially started. And so I am sharing another christmas card with you today.

 

Die Karte ist tatsächlich von meiner Weihnachtsdeko inspiriert. Nein, die habe ich noch nicht aufgebaut, aber im Kopf geht man ja doch alles vorher mal durch. Also zumindest ich mache das so. Vielleicht fehlt ja noch was oder man hat eine Idee für eine Veränderung...

Ich liebe Etageren und Glasglocken. Und unter so einer versteckt sich der Gruß auf meiner heutigen Karte. 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich helltürkis farbenen Cardstock genommen und den Holiday Words Background von SimonSaysStamp mit einer nur etwas dunkleren Stempeltinte aufgestempelt. Die Ränder des Cardstocks habe ich dann dunkeltürkis und schwarz gewischt. Außerdem habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.

 

This card is inspired by my christmas decorations. I don't have those up yet, but I like to plan it ahead. There might be a piece missing or you have an idea for some changes...

I love trays - with and without stands - and cloches. So I put the greeting on today's card under a cloche. 

For the background I stamped the Holiday Words Background by SimonSaysStamp onto light aqua cardstock, using ink, that's just a bit darker than the paper. I inked the edges of the cardstock with darker aqua and black ink and also splattered some white acrylic paint onto it.

 

 Ich hatte einen bestimmten Look für meine Etagere im Kopf und dafür natürlich keine passende Stanze. Also habe ich diverse kombiniert, um den Look zu erhalten, der mir vorschwebte.

Ich habe den Fuß der Etagere aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt. Dafür kam die kleinere Platte des Tiered Trays von Spellbinders zum Einsatz, das kürzere der Verbindungsstücke habe ich unten als Ständer angeklebt und für den Fuß einfach ein schwarzes dünnes Oval verwendet. 

Dekoriert habe ich die Etagere im unteren Bereich dann mit einer Schleife. Die ist aus dem Christmas Cloche Set von Concord and 9th. Ich habe sie aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Ground Espresso etwas schattiert. 

 

I had a special look in mind for my tray but didn't have the right die for it. So I combined different sets to get the look I was after.

I die cut the bottom of the tray from black cardstock. I used the smaller of the trays from Tiered Trays by Spellbinders and the shorter of the connector pieces from this set as the stand. To the bottom I glued a small thin oval.

I decorated the bottom of my tray with a large red bow. This ons is from Christmas Cloche by Concord and 9th. I cut it from red cardstock and shaded it with a bit of Distress Ink Ground Espresso.

 

 Auch die Glasglocke ist aus dem Set Christmas Cloche - die passt nämlich quasi perfekt in den Schlitz, der in das Tablett gestanzt wird. Ich habe die Glasglocke aus Acetate gestanzt und in den Schlitz gesteckt, den unten überstehenden Teil habe ich einfach weggeschnitten. So konnte ich das Acetate aber super hinten am Tablett ankleben, ohne mir Gedanken darüber zu machen, wo ich den Kleber verstecke. 

Auf dem Tablett befindet sich der Text, der hier eigentlich das Hauptelement der Karte ist. Er ist mit der Frohes Fest in Baumform Stanze von Charlie und Paulchen gemacht. Den Text habe ich aus mattem, den Stern an der Spitze aus glänzendem silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt. Unten hinter das Wort habe ich zwei Tannenzweige geklebt.

Mit einem weißen Acrylstift habe ich Highlights auf das Acetate aufgemalt. Das macht es ein wenig besser sichtbar, aber irgendwie wollte ich es noch etwas mehr hervorheben. Also habe ich den oberen Rand des Griffes und der Glasglocke an sich mit Flüssigkleber bestrichen und dann Clear Rock Candy Glitter von Tim Holtz aufgestreut. Auch die Schleife hat ein wenig davon abbekommen.

Nach dem Trocknen habe ich dann weißes Twine um den Griff gewickelt und daran zwei silberne Glöckchen gebunden.  Als Deko habe ich zwei kleine Ilexblätter sowie eine rote Perle als Beere aufgeklebt.

 

The cloche is also from Christmas Cloche - it fits nearly perfectly into the slit that gets cut into the tray. I cut the cloche from acetate and put it as far down into the slit until I was happy with the size. The overhang I simply cut off. This way I was able to glue the acetate to the back of the tray without having to find a creative way to hide the glue.

On the tray there's the text, that's kind of the main element of my card. It means "merry christmas" and is made using a die by Charlie und Paulchen. I cut the text from matte, the star on top from shiny silver metallic cardstock. Behind the bottom I put two pine branches.

With a white acrylic marker I drew some highlights onto the acetate. That makes it better visible, but I wanted more. So I applied liquid glue onto the handle and the top of the cloche and covered it with Clear Rock Candy Glitter by Tim Holtz. I also applied some onto the bow.

After the glue had dried I wrapped some white twine around the handle and tied two silver bells to it. As decoration I added a two small holly leaves and a red pearl as a berry.  

 

 Hinter die Etagere habe ich dann 3D Tape gesetzt, hinter einigen der Buchstaben und strategisch hinter der Deko oben an der Glasglocke befinden sich ebenfalls einige kleine/schmale Stücke.

Irgendwie war mir die Karte dann zu nackt. Also habe ich aus schwarzem Cardstock einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames von Create a Smile ausgestanzt und aufgeklebt. Dabei habe ich mittig zwei Stücke herausgeschnitten, so dass die Etagere nicht überdeckt wird bzw. der Platz dahinter frei ist.

Zum Schluss habe ich noch einige silberne Sternkonfetti auf der Karte verteilt und alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

Behind the tray I put foam tape, putting some small/thin pieces also behind a few of the letters and behind the decorations at the top of the cloche. 

The card seemed a bit too plain to me. So I die cut one of the Stitched Rectangle Frames by Create a Smile from black cardstock and glued it on. I cut a piece from both the top and the bottom of the frame so the tray doesn't get covered and there are no pieces behind the cloche. 

As a last step I added some silver star confetti as decoration and then adhered the card panel to a white note card.

 

Christmas Shopping in New York

Der November ist da - ab jetzt geht es kartentechnisch richtig intensiv um Winter und Weihnachten. Heute gehen wir in New York zum Weihnachtsshopping.

November is here - from now on I dive deep into christmas and winter crafting. Today we are going christmas shopping in New York.

 

Die Idee zu dieser Karte entstand auf dem Stempelmekka. Dort gab es ja die French Christmas Reihe von Charlie und Paulchen, unter anderem auch einen Embossingfolder mit Skyline von Paris inklusive Eiffelturm. Der war mir wegen des Eiffelturms zu wenig vielseitig, meine Freundin hat ihn sich gekauft. Das süße Mädel mit den Paketen (und eigentlich Tüten, die haben es aber nicht auf meine Karte geschafft) durfte bei uns beiden einziehen. Und so haben wir beschlossen, sie macht eine Christmas-Shopping in Paris und ich dafür eine Christmas-Shopping in New York Karte. Tja, und hier ist sie. Wobei das gar nicht so einfach war. Meine Skyline-Stempel und -Stanzen haben so überhaupt nicht mit dem Motiv funktioniert. Also war Shoppen angesagt. Ich habe mir den Background Builder City Sidewalks von Sweet November Stamps gekauft - der Schnee ist dazugestempelt, so dass er super vielseitig und das ganze Jahr einsetzbar ist. Und mit in den Hintergrund gestencilten Hochhäusern finde ich, dass meine Stadt durchaus als New York durchgehen würde...

Das City Sidewalks Motiv ist eigentlich noch größer, ich habe den Ausschnitt gewählt, der mir am besten gefallen hat. Beim Colorieren habe ich alle Häuser im Hintergrund ganz einfach in Grautönen coloriert, nur das (halbe) Haus im Vordergrund habe ich dann aufwändiger gestaltet. 

 

The idea for this card was born back in september when I attended a stamp fair. Charlie und Paulchen brought their new French Christmas series with them and one of the products is an embossing folder with the skyline of Paris inculdingn the Eiffel Tower. But because of the Eiffel Tower I felt it wasn't versatile enough for my taste, but a friend of mine bought it. The little girl with the presents (and also gift bags, but those didn't make it on my card) was something we both got. So we decided, she'd make a Christmas Shopping in Paris and I a Christmas Shopping in New York card. Well, here it is. But it wasn't that easy. I had to find out, that all my skyline stamps and dies so didn't work with the image of the girl. So I had to go shopping... I bought the Background Builder City Sidewalks stamp by Sweet November Stamps - the snow is made with extra images in the set so it is pretty versatile and can be used all year long. And with the skyscrapers stenciled on in the background the city on the card could easily be New York, right?

The City Sidewalks image is a lot larger originally, I simply picked the area I liked the most. When coloring the scene I went with greys for all the houses in the background, only the (half) house in the foreground I did with more care.

 

 Die Hochhäuser im Hintergrund sind mit dem Skyscrapers Stencilset von LaLaLand Crafts gemacht. Auch die ist eigentlich viel größer, aber um den Himmel mit den Hochhäusern zu füllen brauchte ich nur einen kleine Teil des Motivs. Ich habe die Fenster mit Distress Ink Hickory Smoke gewischt und dann den Bereich drumherum mit Lost Shadow. Mit einem grauen Fineliner habe ich noch die Outlines der Häuser dazugemalt. 

Die Laterne habe ich dann noch mit einem Teil einer Schleife aus dem City Sidewalks Set geschmückt. 

 

The skyscrapers in the background I made with the Skyscrapers stencil set by LaLaLand Crafts. Of course this is way larger, too, but I only needed a part of it to fill the sky with them.  I used Distress Ink Hickory Smoke for the windows, then added some Lost Shadow to the houses. With a light grey fineliner I drew the outlines of the houses. 

The lantern I decorated with a part of a bow image, that also comes in the City Sidewalks stamp set. 

 

 Die "Französin beim Shoppen" - so heißt die Stanze - habe ich ja schonmal benutzt. Hier kommt sie aber im Weihnachtslook daher. Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Auf den Rand der Jacke, des Kleides und der Stiefel habe ich weiße Plusterfarbe aufgetragen und mit dem Heißluftfön aufgeplustert, so dass es wie Fell aussieht. Und der kleine Mops hat sich zur Feier des Tages ebenfalls mit einer roten Schleife rausgeputzt, damit er zu seinem Frauchen passt.

 

I already used the "French Girl Shopping" - this is the name of the die. Today she comes in a christmas look. I die cut her from white cardstock and colored her with Copics. Onto the jacket, the dress and the boots I put on some puff paint and puffed it up with my heat gun. It now looks like a fur brim. And the little dog decided to wear a red bow to match the girl's festive look. 

 

 Das große Haus im Vordergrund habe ich, wie schon erwähnt, viel detaillierter coloriert. Die Schneelagen habe ich per Masking auf die Fenster und auch den Boden gestempelt. Ich habe dafür hellblaue Tinte benutzt, später die Ränder aber mit einem weißen Gelstift nachgemalt und die Schneelagen noch ordentlich damit gefüllt.

Die Fenster aller Häuser im Hintergrund sind ja einfach dunkelblau gefüllt. Bei dem Haus im Vordergrund leuchtet warmes Licht einladend durch die Scheiben. Und damit das Haus etwas festlicher wirkt, habe ich kleine Weihnachtsstern-Topfpflanzen von PurpleOnion hinter die Scheiben gestempelt. 

Und auf dem Gehweg vor dem Haus, gleich neben der Französin - äh, New-Yorkerin! - war dann Platz für einen kleinen Text. Ich wollte etwas, das nach guter Laune klingt und habe mich für "jingle all the way" entschieden. Der Text ist aus dem Bitty Holiday Wishes Set von MFT und weiß auf roten Cardstock embosst.

 

As I said already, did I go a lot more detailed with the coloring of the house in the foreground. I did some masking to stamp the piles of snow on the windows and also onto the ground. I stamped those with light blue ink, but later used a white gel pen to cover the lines and also added a lots more of the white to the snow.

The windows in the houses in the background are all simply filled with a dark blue marker. From the windows of this house some warm light is shining through onto the street. And to make this house look a bit more festive I stamped some poinsettia flower pots by PurpleOnion onto the windowsills behind the window.  

And on the sidewalk in front of the house, right next to the french girl - sorry, New York girl! - I had room for a text. I wanted something cheerful and went with "jingle all the way". It's from Bitty Holiday Wishes by MFT and white heat embossed onto red cardstock.

 

 Mit den gestencilten Hochhäusern und dem großen Szene-Motiv ist die Karte fast eine One-Layer-Card. Nur die Schleife, das Mädel samt Hund und der Text sind aufgeklebt. Auf 3D Tape habe ich hier verzichtet.

Vor dem Aufkleben des Textes habe ich mit weißer Acrylfarbe noch viele dicke Schneeflocken auf die Szene gespritzt. Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

With the stenciled on skyscrapers and the large scene image this is nearly a one-layer-card. Only the bow, the girl with dog and the text are glued on. I didn't use any foam tape on this card.

Before glueing on the text I added lots of large snowflakes to the scene by splattering on white acrylic paint. Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Eine weitere Trifold Card

Ich bin im Trifold-Card-Fieber. Die, die ich Euch heute zeige, kommt winterlich-weihnachtlich daher.

I am in a trifold card frenzy. The one I am sharing with you today comes in a wintery-christmassy look.  

 

 Die Karte diesmal ist weniger aufwändig als die beiden bisherigen Trifold Cards, die ich gemacht habe. Und es kamen auch weit weniger Stanzen zum Einsatz.

Die Basis ist natürlich mit der Trifold PopUp Card Base von ScrappyTails gemacht. Ich habe sie aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und von unten her gekürzt. so dass die gesamte Karte nur etwa 15cm hoch ist. 

Aus der Front habe ich dann das Christmas House Window gestanzt sowie aus schwarzem Cardstock den extra im Set enthaltenen Rahmen. Der hat eigentlich ebenfalls Schneelagen, die ich aber herausgeschnitten habe. Schwarzen Schnee will ja keiner..... 

Hinter den schwarzen Fensterrahmen, den ich übrigens aufgedoppelt habe, habe ich eine Lage Acetate geklebt. So ist der Schnee dann auch außerhalb der "guten Stube". 

 

This card is way less involved than the two I've shown you before. And I also used a lot less different dies here.

Of course I made the base with the Trifold PopUp Card Base by ScrappyTails.  I die cut it from white cardstock and cut it shorter, so the whole card is only about 6" tall.

From the front I cut the Christmas House Window and from black cardstock the window, that is an extra die in the set. Originally this also has snow layers in the windows, I simply cut thouse off with my scissors. Who wants black snow...

Behind the black window frame, that I doubled up, I glued a layer of acetate. Now the snow really seems to be on the outside.

 

 

Und so ein Fenster braucht natürlich im Winter etwas Weihnachtsdeko. Ich habe hier eine Girlande aus einem der DooHickey Kits von Magnolia aus grünem Cardstock gestanzt, die Schleife ist aus dem Lovely Layers Beach Bound Holiday AddOn Set von HoneybeeStamps. Alle Teile sind mit Copics schattiert. Und die Schleife war eigentlich gar nicht geplant, ich hatte sie aber von einem Kranz, den Ihr gleich noch seht und für den sie zu groß war, übrig. Also habe ich sie hier verbastelt.

Von der Girlande hängen ein paar Holzsterne. Zwischen denen und der Girlande habe ich feine silberne Fäden gezogen.

 

And of course a window needs some decorations during christmas/winter time. I die cut a garland from one of the DooHickey Kits by Magnolia from green cardstock, the bow is from Lovely Layers Beach Bound Holiday AddOn by HoneybeeStamps. I shaded all pieces with Copics. The bow I had cut for a wreath, that you'll see soon and that looked too large in the other spot, so I simply used it on the garland instead.

From the garland I've hung some wooden stars. Between those and the garland I added pieces of very thin silver twine.

 

Unten im Fenster habe ich dann ein Adventsgesteck mit Kerzen, gemacht mit der Adventsgesteck Klassisch Stanze von CreativeDepot, auf das Fensterbrett gestellt.

 

 And in the bottom of the window I put a flower/pine branch arrangement with candles, made with the Adventsgesteck Klassisch die by CreativeDepot.

 

 Öffnet man die erste Seite - die ich diesmal auf der rechten Seite angebracht habe - sieht man die Stadt, die man schon durchs Fenster sehen konnte. 

 

 When you open the first flap - this time I put that on the right side - you can see the city scene, that you've been able to see through the window already.

 

Um der rechten Seite einen sauberen Look zu geben, habe ich von hier ein weiteres Fenster, gestanzt aus schwarzem Cardstock, aufgeklebt. Von dem habe ich das Fensterbrett abgeschnitten. Und durch die Folie sieht man die Fensterdeko auf der anderen Seite der Karte.

 

To give the right side a clean look I adhered another window, cut from black cardstock, to it. From this window I cut off the windowsill. Through the acetate you can see the window decorations I adhered on the other side of this flap.

 

 Die Klappe auf der linken Seite habe ich aus Acetate gemacht. So sieht man die Häuser dahinter durch sie hindurch. Für den Winterlook habe ich mit weißem StazOn Schneeflocken auf die komplette Seite aufgestempelt.

Und dann steht hier eine schön dekorierte Laterne im Schnee. Für die Laterne musste ich etwas kreativ werden, denn ich hatte keine passende da (für Abhilfe wurde aber umgehend gesorgt, eine passende Stanze ist unterwegs). Also habe ich das Unterteil einer Laterne von Magnolia genommen, das Oberteil ist aus einem Set von SU. Ich habe die Teile aus grauem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics schattiert. Den oberen Teil habe ich mit gelbem Cardstock hinterlegt.

Der Kranz ist wieder aus dem Lovely Layers Beach Bound Holiday AddOn Set - und für ihn ist eigentlich auch die Schleife gedacht. Die ist aus dem selben Set und passt natürlich eigentlich super zum Kranz, aber an der Laterne sah sie einfach zu groß aus. Also habe ich nur die umwickelten Bänder angeklebt.

Am unteren Ende befinden sich zwei Lagen frisch gefallenen Schnees.

 

The left flap I created completly from acetate. This way you can see the houses behind this layer through the flap. For the winter look I stamped snowflakes all over the page using white StazOn Pigment Ink. 

And on this layer there's a decorated lantern standing in the snow. For the lantern I had to get a bit creative because I didn't have one that fit here (don't worry, I changed that immediately and another lantern set is on the way to me). I used the bottom piece of a lantern die by Magnolia, the top is made using an old set by SU. I die cut the pieces from grey cardstock and shaded them with Copics. The top of the lantern I backed with yellow cardstock.

The wreath is again from Lovely Layers Beach Bound Holiday AddOn - and that's also what the bow was meant to go on. It's from the same set and of course works great with it, but on the lantern it just looked too big. So I only used the ribbons that get wrapped around the wreath. 

To the bottom I added two layers of fresh fallen snow.  

 

 Hier seht Ihr die Rückseite der Folien-Klappe und auch die darauf gestempelten Scheeflocken sind hier besser zu erkennen. 

Auch hier habe ich eine zweite Laterne sowie Schnee, identisch zur ersten, auf deckungsgleich auf die Rückseite der Folie geklebt. Das sieht an sich schöner aus, weil durch die Folie natürlich der Kleber sichtbar gewesen wäre, und auch bei geöffneter Karte sieht man nochmal eine komplette Laterne, statt nur die Rückseite. 

 

Here you see the back of the flap made from acetate and also the snowflakes stamped onto it are better visible here.

I created another lantern and snow banks, identically to the first ones, and adhered them in the same spot to the back of the acetate. That looks nicer, because the glue would be visible through the acetate, and also because you see a complete lantern when the card is fully opened and not only the backside.

 

So sieht die komplett geöffnete Karte aufgestellt aus.

 Und hier ist dann die winterliche Straße zu sehen. 

Ich habe hier das Petit Maison de Paris und das Maison de Paris von Charlie und Paulchen jeweils aus Watercolor Cardstock gestanzt - das große Haus zweimal. Die habe ich dann ganz rudimentär mit Zig Markern coloriert - die großen Häuser nur in Grautönen, weil sie im Hintergrund bleiben sollten. Das kleine Haus habe ich gelb-braun coloriert, das erinnert mich an Sandstein. 

Das kleine Haus habe ich ebenfalls winterlich dekoriert. Dafür habe ich eine kleine Schleife von LawnFawn sowie einen kleinen Kranz von Magnolia ebenfalls aus Watercolor Cardstock gestanzt und coloriert. 

Die Fenster der großen Häuser habe ich mit schwarzen, die des kleinen Hauses mit gelbem Cardstock hinterlegt. 

Am Boden habe ich abwechselnd weiße Schneelagen - einfach frei Hand geschnitten - und Straßen aus Streifen schwarzen Cardstocks aufgeklebt. Der Himmel ist mit Distress Ink Faded Jeans und Chipped Sapphire gemacht.

Nach dem Zusammensetzen der Szene habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe als Schneeflocken aufgespritzt.

Und Ihr habt es sicher schon gesehen - auf alle Teile im Freien habe ich weiße Schneepaste aufgetragen. Wenn es so doll schneit, muss der Schnee doch auch liegen bleiben! Die Schneeteile aus weißem Cardstock habe ich ganz leicht mit Stickles beglittert.

 

And here's the wintery street scene.

I die cut the Petit Maison de Paris and the Maison de Paris by Charlie und Paulchen from watercolor cardstock - I cut two of the large house. Then I very simply colored them with Zig Markers. I only went with shades of grey for the large houses because I wanted those to be the backcground. For the small house I went with a yellow-ish brown, that reminds me of sandstone.

The small house I decorated a bit. I die cut small bows using a die by LawnFawn and a small wreath, using a die by Magnolia. I cut those from watercolor cardstock again and colored them. 

The windows of the large houses I backed with black, the ones of the small house with yellow cardstock. 

To the ground I glued some white snowbanks - simply cut free hand with my scissors - and streets, made from strips of black cardstock. The sky I inked with Distress Ink Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire. 

After putting the scene together I splattered white acrylic paint as snow all over it. And I'm sure you've noticed it already - I covered all outdoor pieces with white snow paste. When it's snowing so heavily, than the snow surely doesn't melt away. The snow banks, that I cut from white cardstock, I glittered with just a hint of Stickles.

 

 Man kann die Karte auch nur halb geöffnet aufstellen- durch die Lage aus Acetate sieht man ja die komplette Szene.

Übrigens habe ich auf den Schnee unter dem Haus und unter das Fenster in der rechten Klappe einen Text aufgeklebt. Er ist aus dem Set Bitty Holiday Wishes von MFT und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

 

You can also put up the card just partly opened. Through the acetate layer you can see the whole scene. 

I added a text onto the snow under the house and the window on the right flap. It's from Bitty Holiday Wishes by MFT and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

 

 Und komplett zusammengelegt ist diese Variante wirklich dünn, vor allem im Vergleich zu den Trifold Cards, die ich bisher gemacht habe. 

 

And folded closed this version is really thin, especially compared to the Trifold Cards I've made before.
