A card with a twist

Heute habe ich eine weitere Karte mit September-Neuheiten von JM Creation zu zeigen. Und Achtung, es wird winterlich! Außerdem wird es lila, und das passiert bei mir ja doch eher selten. Aber hier passte es richtig gut.

Today I'm sharing another card with stamps and dies from the september release by JM Creation. And it's getting wintery! Wintery - and purple, and that's a color that I use maybe once or twice a year. But here it was just the perfect pick.

Hier habe ich im Hintergrund auf weißem Cardstock mit Distress Oxide den Himmel gewischt. Die Schablonen für die Schneehügel habe ich einfach per Hand geschnitten und dann den Schnee ein wenig mit Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass aufgewischt.

Here I've used Distress Oxides to ink up the top of some white cardstock to create a winter sky. I've hand cut the stencils for the snowy hills - simply using some copy paper here - and lightly inked up the edges with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass.

Der goldige Eisbär - zusammen mit dem kahlen Baum und dem Text unten auf der Karte - sind eines der neuen Sets. Ich habe den See - okay, er ist wirklich sehr klein geraten! - frei Hand gemalt und mit Copics coloriert. Auch für den Bären habe ich Copics benutzt. Da der See ein wenig kräftig ausgefallen ist, habe ich eine Lage Vellum darüber geklebt, um die Farbe etwas runter zu tönen.

Im Hintergrund habe ich kleine Tannen, ebenfalls aus einem neuen Set, mit grüner Tinte aufgestempelt und sie dann ein wenig mit weißem Embossinpulver beschneit.

Zum Schluss habe ich über die gesamte Szene mit ein wenig Wasser verdünnte, weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt - schließlich schneit es nicht nur im Hintergrund.

This cute ice bear - as well as the bare tree and the saying on the card - are one of the new sets. I've hand drawn the lake - okay, it's a really small lake! - and colored it with Copics. Also the bear was colored with Copics. And since the lake turned out a bit too bright I've put a layer of vellum on top to tone the blue down a bit.

In the background I've stamped some small fir trees with green ink and used white embossing powder to add some snow to them.

In the end I've spritzed some white acrylic paint, mixed with just a drop of water, across the whole scene. I mean, it can't snow just in the background, right?

Und deswegen heißt der Post "card with a twist": Ich habe hier die ebenfalls neue Twistkarten-Stanze verwendet. Ich hatte die mal nach Tutorials probiert. Egal, welches ich versuchte - und es waren mehrere - der Mechanismus hat bei mir nie richtig funktioniert. Deswegen hatte ich es aufgegeben. Mit der Stanze war das nun super einfach.

And this why the post is called "a card with a twist": I've used the also new twist card die here. Some time ago I've tried to make that type of card following a tutorial. I've tried several tutorials but the mechanism never worked smoothly. So I'd given up on it. Now with the die it was really easy to make that card.

Auch auf den kleinen Panelen finden sich lauter neue Stempel. Ich habe wieder Schneehügel frei Hand gewischt und die Tannen in grün aufgestempelt und mit Embossinpulver beschneit. Über den ebenfalls gewischten Himmel habe ich kleine Schneeflocken weiß embosst. Auf zwei der Panele finden sich zudem ein Bär und ein Fuchs, beide winterlich gekleidet. Die gibt es auch in groß, in kleine sind sie aber mindestens genau so süß. Und von der Größe her perfekt für die kleineren Panele.

And also on the smaller panels I've used a lot of new stamps. Again I've created a sky and snowy hills, stamped some green fir trees and used white embossing powder to add some snow. Then I've stamped some small snowflakes across the sky. And there are two cute critters on two of those panels: a fox and a bear, both dressed up for the cold weather. Those are also available in a larger size, but the small ones are as cute and perfect in size for this card.

Unten auf die Innenseite habe ich dann noch einen Text angebracht. Dafür habe ich einen Teil eines der Stempel aus dem Stempelset Weihnachtsgrüße 1 mit dem Wort Winter, geschrieben aus einzelnen, mit dem ABC 1 Stanzenset gestanzten Buchstaben, kombiniert. Eigentlich lautete der Text nämlich "wunderbare Weihnachtszeit".  So aber kann man ihn ganz einfach passend abändern. Als Deko habe ich dann noch zwei glitzernde Enamel Dots aufgeklebt.

To the bottom inside I've added a text meaning "wonderful wintertime". I've combined a stamp and die cut letters here to write it. For decorations I've added two glitterin Enamel Dots.

Heute habe ich mal eine etwas andere Halloweenkarte - so ganz ohne Kürbis und all den üblichen Dingen. Aber ich hatte diese Idee und wollte sie unbedingt umsetzen. Entstanden ist diese Karte, die ich heute auf dem Stamping-Fairies Blog zeige.

Today I  have a slightly different Halloween card to show - so completly without any pumpkins and all the other typical stuff. But I had that idea in mind and really wanted to turn it into a card. I ended up with this card that I'm sharing over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today. 

Auch der Hintergrund ist nicht der üblich - an sich wirklich tolle - Himmel in spooky Farben. Ich habe hier den neuen City Block Background verwendet. In den habe ich mich auf den ersten Blick verliebt und sehe so viele Einsatzmöglichkeiten. Er ist von oben bis unten und rechts nach links voller Häuser. Ich habe ihn mit silberfarbenem Embossingpulver auf dunkelblauen Cardstock embosst und dann passend zur Größe meiner Karte zugeschnitten.

Das untere Drittel habe ich mit einem Hügel überdeckt. Dafür habe ich eine der Stitched Snow Drifts Stanzen benutzt und aus schwarzem Cardstock den Hügel gestanzt. 

Für die Straße davor wäre die ebenfalls neue On the Road Stanze perfekt gewesen. Da ich aber bereits zwei Straßenstanzen von MFT besitze, wollte ich erst sehen, ob die evtl. auch passen. Tun sie nicht, sie sind zu schmal. Aber ich habe einfach die gebogene Straße aus dem Stanzenset Open Road an der linken Außenkante auf grauen Cardstock gemalt, sie nach rechts verschoben und dann die andere Außenkante versetzt ebenfalls nachgemalt. Dann habe ich sie ausgeschnitten und die weißen Linien per Hand hinzugefügt. Naja, ich denke, die On the Road Stanze wird trotzdem noch bei mir einziehen. Aber für diese Karte habe ich mir so beholfen.

Der Text ist aus dem Stempelset Witch Way is the Candy. Das ist mit Hexe, deshalb ist das which hier wie Hexe geschrieben. Aber der Text passte von der Bedeutung her perfekt. Und ja, ich habe noch die alte Version des Stempelsets - in der neu aufgelegten Version sind die Texte in einer anderen Schriftart. Ich habe den Text schwarz auf einen Streifen orangefarbenen Cardstock gestempelt, geteilt und unten links auf die Karte geklebt.

Also the background isn't the usual - and surely beautiful - sky in spooky colors. I've used the new City Block Background here. I fell in love with this one at first sight and can imagine it being used on so many different cards. From the left end to the right end and from the top edge to the bottom one it's completly filled with houses. Here I've silver heat embossed it onto some dark blue cardstock and then cut it down to the size of my card base.

The lower third is covered with a hill. I've used one of the Stitched Snow Drifts dies  to cut the upper edge of a piece of black cardstock into a hill shape.

For the road the also new On the Road die would have been perfect. Since I already own two road dies by MFT I wanted to see if one of those fits first. Well, they don't, they are too narrow. But here I've simply taken the curvy road from the Open Road die set and traced the left edge onto a piece of grey caredestock, then moved it to the right and traced the right edge of well. After cutting my road out I've added the marks with a white gel marker. Well, I think I will have to buy the On the Road die soon but for this card my way worked.

The text ist from the Witch Way is the Candy stamp set. It's with a witch so that's why the which is written witch. But the text just was perfect for my card meaningwise. And yes, I have the old version of this set. The newer re-released one is with different fonts. I've stamped the text with black ink onto a strip of orange cardstock, cut it apart and glued it to the bottom left corner of my card.

Und hier ist die Stanze, die mich auf die Idee für die Karte gebracht hat: Carpool. Ich finde den Bus einfach klasse! Hier habe ich ihn aus orangefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt. Da ich mir sicher bin, dass die süßen Insassen an Halloween bestimmt nicht mit einem glänzenden neuen Auto unterwegs sind, habe ich mit Copics in Rotbraun- und Orangetönen Rost aufgetupft. Und auch die Seitenspiegel scheinen schon ein wenig gelitten zu haben, der linke hängt doch sehr. Die Deko für die Motorhabe habe ich als Rückfenster verwendet - auch wenn man das hier nicht mehr wirklich erkennen kann. Aber durch das Rückfenster kann man noch ein wenig der Stadt sehen. Dafür habe ich als Markenlabel eine Fledermaus auf die Motorhaube geklebt. Die Lichter habe ich durch grüne Wackelaugen ersetzt. Und auf das Nummernschild kam natürlich ein Boo.

Und dann durften die Tiere Platz nehmen. Ich habe hier Motive aus dem letztjährigen - oder ist das schon zwei Jahre her? - Stempelset Frightfully Sweet benutzt, mit Copics coloriert und in das Auto geklebt. Auf dem Dach sitzt eine schwarze Katze. Die ist, ebenso wie die kleine Spinne, die vom Seitenspiegel baumelt, aus dem Stempelset Best Witches. Zum Schluss kamen noch ein paar kleine Fledermäuse aus dem Stempelset Ghostly Greetings, denen ich orangefarbene Augen gegeben habe, um das Auto herum. Und nun sind alle Tiere auf dem Weg und suchen nach dem Süßen. Kann ihnen jemand von Euch den Weg weisen?

And here's the die that gave me the inspiration for this card: Carpool. I just love this car! Here I've die cut it from orange cardstock. And since I'm sure that those critters won't go on tour on a Halloween eve in a shiny bright new car I've added some rusty spots - okay, quite a lot of them - by simply adding dotted areas with my Copics in reddish brown and orange. Also the side mirrors seem to have had better times - the left one is really crooked. The decoration that is meant to go on the hood was here used to die cut a rear window out of the car. And even if you can't see it fully here anymore - through that rear window you can see parts of the city background. And instead of the original part I've added a little bat as the label on the hood. The lights are replaced with green googly eyes and of course the number plate is a BOO.

And then the car was ready for the critters to start their journey. I've used images from last year's - or was it two years already? - stamp set Frightfully Sweet, colored them with Copics and glued them inside the car. On the roof a black cat is traveling with them. This and the little spider that is dangling from one of the side mirrors, are from the Best Witches stamp set. In the end I've glued a few bats from the Ghostly Greetings stamp set around the car and colored their eyes orange. And now all those critters are out on the road looking for the way to all the candy. Can one of them guide them into the right direcction?

Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 12. September 2020

In der heutigen Ausgabe des Stempeleinmaleins zeigen wir Euch eine Verpackung für einen Lippen(pflege)stift. Und natürlich ist genug Platz für Dekoration!

With today's issue of Stempeleinmaleins we are sharing a tutorial for a lip (balm) stick. And of course there's enough room for decorations.

 Nun, ich muss zugeben, dass ich hier ein wenig faul war. Statt die Box selbst zu schneiden, habe ich einfach die neue Lippenstiftbox-Stanze von JM-Creation benutzt. Dank Partial Die Cutting habe ich den aufstehenden Rückteil der Box in einem Stück hinzufügen können. 

Die Box ist aus weißem Cardstock gewerkelt und mit hellblauem Designpapier mit weißen Pünktchen beklebt. 

Da mein Lippenpflegestift recht klein war (eine Normgröße gibt es da wohl nicht und ich hatte keinen anderen da, denn ich selbst benutze die nie), habe ich zusätzlich zum Lippenpflegestift noch weiße gecrimpte Papierstreifen noch mit in die Box gepackt, so dass er nicht herumrutschen kann. Ich finde, die Streifenstücke, die man sehen kann, geben einen schönen Look.

Well, I have to admit that I was a bit lazy here. Instead of cutting the box myself I've simply used the new lipstick box by JM-Creation. Thanks to partial die cutting I was able to add the back panel to the box without having to glue it to the back of the box.

The box is made from white cardstock and covered with light blue designer's paper with white dots.

Since my lip balm was pretty small (seems like there isn't a norm of sizes here and I didn't have another one since I never use them) I've put some white crimped paper strips into the box along with the lip balm to avoid it moving around. I think the white strips, that can be seen through the opening in the box, add a nice touch.

 Als ich mir über die Deko Gedanken machte, kam mir der alte Spruch "L....o, und kein Kuss quietscht mehr" in den Sinn. Der hat mich dann auf diese Idee gebracht.

Ich habe den süßen Frosch aus dem Witch Way is the Candy Stempelset von MFT coloriert, ausgeschnitten und auf ein Seerosenblatt von Papertrey Ink gesetzt. Das Krönchen habe ich mit einem Stempel von SU hinzugefügt. Neben dem Frosch habe ich ein Banner angebracht, das ich mit "Küsschen?" bestempelt habe. Das Küsschen ist ein Stempel, den ich mir vor Jahren mal selbst gemacht habe, nur das Fragezeichen musste ich dazustempeln. Daher ist es ein wenig größer und in einer anderen Schriftart.

Hinter dem Frosch befinden sich ein paar Rohrkolben von LawnFawn sowie ausgestanzte kleine Wölkchen von MFT. 

Den Frosch habe ich mit aufgedoppeltem 3D Tape auf die Box geklebt, so dass er ein wenig nach vorne rückte.

 When I thought about how to decorate my box that old slogan of "L....o and none of your kisses will squeak anymore" in mind. That's an old one that actually - obviously - never was a slogan but something everyone was saying when the name of a special brand was mentioned - many years ago when I was a kid/teen. And it inspired me for this decoration.

I've stamped and colored the cute frog from the Witch Way is the Candy stamp set by MFT and added the crown using a stamp by SU. Then I've cut it out and glued it onto a leave by Papertrey Ink. Next to the frog I've added a banner onto which I've stamped "kisses?". I had to add the question mark from an alphabet set I had so it's slighly smaller and a different font.

Behind the frog I've added some pipe flasks by Lawn Fawn and small die cut clouds by MFT.

I've glued the frog onto the box with doubled up dimensionals to make him stand out a bit more from the background.

 So, irgendwie musste ich jetzt noch die Verbindung vom nach Küsschen fragenden/anbietendem Frosch zum Lippenpflegestift herstellen - ich bin sicher, nicht jeder denkt sofort an oben erwähnten Spruch. Und die jungen Leute kennen ihn wahrscheinlich eh nicht mehr. Also habe ich am PC noch einen "man muss immer vorbereitet sein" Text geschrieben, ausgedruckt und oben auf die Box geklebt.

 Well, and now I had to make a connection from the frog asking for/offering kisses and the lip balm. I'm sure not everyone has that said saying in mind immediately and most likely young people won't even have heard it. So I printed a "you always have to be prepaired" text with my home printer and glued it on top of the box.

Auf dieser Karte, die ich heute auf dem Stampcorner Blog zeige, trifft Mama Elephant auf die eigene Stempllinie von Stampcorner. Herausgekommen ist eine Karte wahlweise zum Thema Liebe/Freundschaft oder auch Reise.

On this card, that I'm sharing over at the Stampcorner Blog today, Mama Elephant meets the stamp line by Stampcorner. The result is this card that could either go with a lover/friendship theme or a travel theme.

Früher habe ich immer Designpapier verwendet, und ich habe davon auch noch Unmengen. Aber irgendwie wird das bei mir weniger und weniger. Und wenn, dann habe ich nicht genau das, was mir vorschwebt. Also habe ich hier einfach kurzerhand eins selbst gestaltet. Ich habe am PC viele verschiedene Städte - und ja, sie wiederholen sich irgendwann - neben- und untereinander geschrieben, bis ich meine Kartenfront damit abdecken konnte und habe das dann ausgedruckt. Und damit es schöner aussieht, habe ich dann Distress Ink Mowed Lawn darübergewischt. Das Stück Cardstockstock habe ich dann schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

There were times where I couldn't make a card without designer's paper - and I still have tons left. But I'm using it less and less. And then it happens that I want to use one but don't have exactly what I have in mind. So I've simply made my own here. I've written a lot different cities from all over the world next to and under each other - and yes, I went out of ideas and so they repeat - until I could cover my card front and printed it out with my home printer. To make it look nice I then colored the page with Distress Ink Mowed Lawn. Then I've matted the cardstock black and glued it onto a white note card.

Und hier sind nun die erwähnten Stempel. Das Stempelset School Rules von Mama Elephant musste ich unbedingt haben - eigentlich hauptsächlich wegen des Hasen mit dem Globus. Aus dem Thema Schule bin ich ja eigentlich raus. Aber dafür hatte ich verschiedene Ideen im Kopf. Und so kam er hier zum Einsatz.

Auch der süße Bär is aus diesem Set. Sein Schulrucksack geht auch als Wanderrucksack durch, finde ich. Eigentlich läuft er in die andere Richtung. Da er mir nach rechts schauend für meine Karte aber besser gefallen ist, habe ich ihn mit Mirror Stamping gedreht. Dabei kriege ich nie so wirklich 100 % exakte Linien hin und habe die einfach mit einem schwarzen Fineliner nachgemalt. 

Coloriert habe ich mit Copics.

Die beiden süßen habe ich auf ein Oval aus Designpapier geklebt, das ich ebenfalls schwarz gemattet habe. 

Der tolle Text ist aus dem Stempelset Freunde 3 von Stampcorner. Ich finde, der passt super zu diesen beiden Motiven! Er ist mit schwarzer Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt, ebenfalls schwarz gemattet und quer über die Karte geklebt.

Als Deko kamen noch ein paar hellblaue Enamel Accents zum Einsatz sowie ein kleines aus pinkfarbenem Cardstock ausgestanztes Herz.

And here are the stamps I've been talking about. I knew I needed the School Rules stamp set by Mama Elephant as soon as I saw it. Mostly just because of that cute bunny with the globus. My kids all left school and so I don't make teacher's card etc anymore. But I had different ideas for this stamp. And so I've used the set here.

Also the cute bear is from this set. I think his school bag could also work as a travel backpack. Originally he's looking into the other direction. Since I like him looking to the right better for this card design I did some mirror stamping. Well, I never get completly crisp stamped lines with this technique. So I've used a black fineliner to match that and re-drew the outlines.

Coloring was done with Copics.

I've glued the two onto an oval cut from designer's paper that I've matted with black cardstock.

The great text means "as long as I'm with you I don't care where we are". I think that goes great with the two images I've used here. The text was stamped with black ink onto a strip of white cardstock, again matted black and glued across the card.

For decorations I've added a few light blue Enamel Accents and a small heart punched from pink cardstock.

Ja ist denn schon Weihnachten?

Nein, Weihnachten ist noch nicht - aber September. Und es gibt Neuheiten von JM-Creation. Und da wir Bastler ja der Zeit immer ein wenig voraus sind - und weil mir einfach diese Idee in den Kopf kam - gibt es heute einen Adventskranz to go zu sehen.

No, it's not christmas time already - but it's september. And that means there are new stamps and dies by JM Creation. And since we crafters are always a bit ahead of time - and because I had this idea in mind - I am sharing an advent wreath to got today.

Ich habe hier die neue Lippenstiftbox-Stanze verwendet und vier Stück davon zusammengesetzt.

Die Außenseiten sind mit weinrotem Designpapier mit Sternchendruck beklebt.

Oben auf den geschlossenen Kranz habe ich einen Adventskranz to go Text oval ausgeschnitten, mit goldenem Spiegelcardstock hinterlegt und darunter einige Ilexblätter sowie einen Tannenzweig, gestanzt mit der Kranz-Stanze, aufgeklebt. Auch ein paar kleine Holzsternchen und weiße Halbperlen haben hier einen Platz gefunden.

Darunter, quer über die Box, habe ich einen der Texte aus dem Stempelset Weihnachtsgrüße 1 aufgeklebt. Der ist ebenfalls dunkelrot gestempelt und gold gemattet.

Here I've used the new lipstick box die and put four of them together for this advent wreath.

The outsides are covered with dark red designer's paper with a star pattern.

On top of the closed box I've added an oval with an stamped on "advent wreath to go". The oval is matted with golden mirror cardstock, under it I've put a few holly leaves and a fir branch. There was also room for a few wooden stars and some white pearls.

The text on the banner means "have a wonderful advent time". It's also stamped with dark red ink and matted golden.

Und so sieht der geöffnete Adventskranz aus.

Die Seitenteile der Lippenstiftbox sind alle gleich lang. Ich habe einen Streifen weißen Cardstock in der Höhe der Boxen zugeschnitten und die Boxen nacheinander aufgeklebt. Zwischen den Boxen sowie am Ende und am Anfang habe ich jeweils einen Streifen frei gelassen, der der Breite/Höhe einer Box entspricht, und den Streifen immer genau an der Kante vor einer der Boxen gefalzt. So lässt er sich aufrollen und bildet in geschlossenem Zustand eine rechteckige Box. Und die Zwischenräume waren mit den passenden Auflegern, die bei der Box enthalten sind, ganz einfach zu dekorieren.

Ich habe hier ebenfalls das rote Designpapier mit Sternchendruck verwendet.

And this is the opened advent wreath.

The sides of the lipstick box all have the same height. I've cut a strip of white cardstock as high as the boxes are long and then glued the boxes onto it. I've left out spaces measuring exactly the height of the boxes between the boxes and at the end and the beginning of the strip. I've also scored the strip right before the boxes. Now it can be rolled up and creates a rectangle box when closed. And using the matching dies to decorate the boxes with designer's paper made it really easy to also cover the spaces inbetween the boxes.

Again I've used the red desinger's paper with the star pattern.

Die kleinen Lippenstiftboxen haben an einer Seite eine Aussparung zum Öffnen, die habe ich alle so angebracht, dass sie bei "aufgerolltem Kranz" oben liegen. Gefüllt habe ich die Boxen mit einer kleinen Kerze, einer Mini-Schachtel Streichhölzer und etwas Schokolade.

The little boxes all have a half circle cut out to make opening them easy. I've glued down the boxes with this opening upwards when the "wreath" is opened. Each box is filled with a little candle, a mini box of matches and some chocolat.

Die Kerzen können dann in die Ausstanzungen am Ende der Boxen gesteckt werden. Aber vorsichtig - Papier und Feuer....

Und nein, ich habe nicht schon Schokonikoläuse gekauft. Den habe ich noch im Zimmer einer meiner Töchter im Süßigkeitenvorrat gefunden - ein Überbleibsel von letztem Jahr.

The candles can be put into the cut out circles at the end of the boxes. But caution - paper and fire....

And no, I didn't buy any christmas chocolats already. I've found this one in one of my daughter's sweets - a left over one from last year.

Und so sieht das dann aus der Nähe aus.

Ich habe oben auf die Boxen Zahlen von 1 bis 4, gestanzt aus goldenem Spiegelcardstock mit Stanzen aus dem neuen Adventskalenderzahlen-Set, aufgeklebt.

Als Sterne habe ich einfach den Seestern aus dem Stanzenset Möwe zweckentfremdet - der war von der Größe her perfekt. Aus dem Stern und der Box habe ich dann in einem Schritt kleine Löcher ausgestanzt, die minimal größer als der durchmesser der Kerzen sind. Unter die Sterne habe ich wieder zwei Ilex-Blätter gesteckt.

And this is what the candles put in place look like.

On top of the boxes I've glued the numbers from 1 to 4, cut from golden mirror cardstock. Then I've also glued golden stars onto the boxes and put some more holly leaves under them. From the stars and boxes I've punched out a small hole the diameter of the candles.

Für Abenteuer ist man nie zu alt!

Anyone in for a camping trip? Well, we better get started before the nights get too cold. Guess that's also what those two explorer on my card, that I'm sharing over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today, thought.

Ich habe hier viel weiß rund um das Motiv gelassen, den weißen Cardstock schwarz gemattet und dann auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I've kept a lot of white space around the scene I created, matted the cardstock black and then glued it onto a white note card.

 

Hier habe ich zwei der August-Stempelsets von MFT kombiniert. Ich liebe das Stempelset Old Friends mit den "Alten" und dachte, der alte Herr mit dem Stock könnte auch auf einer Wanderung sein. Naja, er mag ein wenig zu schick gekleidet sein, aber das ist Ansichtssache.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich die Rectangle Extraordinaire Schablone von MFT auf den weißen Cardstock aufgelegt. Mit der neuen Rolling Clouds Stencil und Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass  habe ich dann zuerst den Himmel gewischt. Mit der Schablone kann man tolle, dramatische Wolken gestalten. Bei mir sind es nur weiße Wolken, die hinter den Bergen zu sehen sind. 

Das Gras habe ich mit Mowed Lawn gewischt und unten die Grassy Hills Schablone aufgelegt. Ich bin ehrlich, die benutze ich nicht so oft, denn für mich ist sie "verkehrt herum" gefertigt. Das liegt garantiert an mir, aber ich wische eben in die andere Richtung und komme damit nicht so klar. Hier habe ich die Schablone einfach kopfüber aufgelegt, das fällt aber nur auf, wenn man sich das Gras genau ansieht. 

Dann habe ich mit Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke noch den Weg gewischt. Da Wanderwege ja nicht geteert sind, habe ich noch ein paar Spritzer leicht verdünntes Black Soot aufgespritzt, um den Eindruck von Steinen zu erwecken. 

Anschließend habe ich die Motive gestempelt und coloriert. Bis auf den alten Mann aus dem Stempelset Old Friends sind alle Motive und auch der Text aus dem Set Adorable Adventures. Coloriert habe ich mit Copics. 

Die Motive sind dann, zum Teil mit 3D Tape, auf die Karte geklebt. 

Zum Schluss kam noch ein Text. Den habe ich mit weißem Embossingpulver auf einen Streifen schwarzen Cardstock embosst und über den unteren Rand der Szene geklebt.

 Here I've combined two sets from the august release by MFT. I love the stamp set Old Friends with all the old people and I tought, that old man with the stick could also be on a hiking trip. Well, he might be a bit overdressed for that but I think, everyone has its own way to dress.

For the background I've put the Rectangle Extraordinaire stencil by MFT onto the white cardstock. With the new Rolling Clouds stencil and Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass I've added the sky to my cardstock. That stencil is great for dramatic clouds. But in my case there are just a few white clouds piling up behind the mountains.

The grass was made with Mowed Lawn and I've used the Grassy Hills stencil here. I want to be honest, I don't use that one often because in my mind it's created "the wrong way around". I'm sure that's my mistake or not being able to figure out how to use it. I just do my backgrounds the other way around. So here I've simply put the stencil down upside down. But you can only see that now that I've told you - or if you take a really close look.

Then I've used Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke to create the path. And since those are hardly ever plastered I've sprinkled some Black Soot, mixed with a tad bit of water, onto the path to add the impression of rocks.

Then I've stamped and colored the images. Besides the old man from the Old Friends stamp set all of the images and the text are from the Adorable Adventures stamp set. Coloring was done with Copics. After coloring and cutting was done, I've glued them onto the card, some of them with dimensionals.

In the end I've added a saying. I've white heat embossed it onto a strip of black cardstock and glued that over the bottom of the path. 

 

Zum Schulanfang

Morgen fängt auch hier in Bayern die Schule wieder an. Da ich eh ein Geburtstagspäckchen an meine kleine Nichte, die noch kein Schulkind ist, geschickt habe, habe ich für ihre große Schwester noch kurz eine Kleinigkeit gewerkelt, um ihr den Schul-Wiederstart etwas zu versüßen.

Tomorrow school re-starts here in Bavaria. And since I was sending a birthday gift to my younger niece who isn't in school yet I've quickly made a little something for her bigger sister to make re-start of school a bit sweeter for her.

Es ist ein Stift geworden, der aber komplett aus Süßem besteht. Dafür habe ich eine Rolle Rolo mit Designpapier umwickelt, um das hintere Ende kam roter Cardstock sowie eine Banderole aus silbernem Glitzercardstock. Die Spitze ist aus einem Hershey Kiss gestaltet, das ich mit doppelseitigem Klebeband an die Rolle angeklebt habe. 

Für die Deko habe ich etwas schwarzes Twine zweimal um das hintere Ende des Stiftes gewickelt und daran ein ausgestanztes Schulanfang gebunden. Das ist mit der Schulanfang Stanze von JM Creation aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Glossy Accents überzogen.

Die kleinen Texte sind aus dem Stempelset Lustiges Gebäck. Ich habe sie schwarz gestempelt, ausgesschnitten und unter dem ausgestanzten Wort auf den Stift geklebt. Als Deko kamen noch ein paar kleine Sterne, gemacht mit der Konfetti Sterne Stanze, neben das Wort.

I've made a pen that's made completly from sweets. I've covered a roll of Rolo with designer's paper, wrapped some red cardstock around the end and added a strip of silver glitter cardstock there. The tip is made of a Hershey Kiss that I've glued with doublesided tape to the Rolo roll.

For decorations I've wrapped a piece of black twine twice around the back end of the pen and then tied a "school starts" word to the S. I've die cut the word from red cardstock and covered it with Glossy Accents.

The small texts read "eat me" and "small and yummy". I've stamped those black, cut them out and glued them next to the die cut word. Then I've also added two black stars here.

Auf die Rückseite der Rolo-Rolle habe ich einen Kreis aus rotem Cardstock geklebt und mit einem weiteren ausgestanzten Stern dekoriert.

To the end of the Rolo roll I've glued a circle from red cardstock and then added another die cut star here.

Over at Stempeleinmaleins we are sharing a tutorial for a rotating box today. And it's even filled with a yummy little chocolat. 

 Meine Box an sich ist aus weißem Cardstock gearbeitet. Die äußeren Seitenteile sind mit blau-weiß gestreiftem Designpapier beklebt, die Seiten der inneren kleinen Box mit hellbraunem Designpapier mit weißen Pünktchen. Das Papier habe ich auch benutzt, um die Ecken zu dekorieren. Dafür habe ich die Eckenstanze aus dem Box zum Klappen Stanzenset von JM Creation verwendet. 

Oben auf die Box habe ich einen Rahmen aus hellblauem Cardstock geklebt, das ich mit zwei der Stitched Rechtecke von JM Creation gestanzt habe. Die waren von der Größe wie für diese Box gemacht!

I've made my box from white cardstock. The outer box is decorated with white and blue striped designer's paper, the sides of the inner smaller box with light brown designer's paper  with white dots. That's also the paper that I've used to decorate the corners. I've used a die from a box set by JM Creation here. 

On top of the box I've glued a frame cut from light blue cardstock. I've used two of the Stitched Rectangles by JM Creation here. They were perfect in size, as if made just for this project!

Zum Drehen der inneren Box ist ein Band angebracht, ich habe mich für hellbraun entschieden. An dessen Ende habe ich ein kleines Label aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt, das ich mit einem PULL bestempelt und mit einer kleinen Halbperle verziert habe. 

Oben auf die innere Box habe ich einen "süss und lecker" Text aufgeklebt. Er ist mit wirklich sehr heller blauer Tinte auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und hellblau gemattet. Außerdem habe ich hier eine weitere Halbperle aufgeklebt. Eigentlich waren es zwei, aber die größere klebte offenbar nicht richtig und ist beim ersten Drehen in die Box hineingefallen. Da klebt sie jetzt natürlich....

To turn the inner box you need a ribbon, I went with light brown. To its end I've glued a small label punched from light blue cardstock and stamped a pull onto it. I've also added a little pearl here.

To the top of the inner box I've glued a piece of white cardstock onto which I've stamped a "sweet and yummy" text with really very light blue ink. I've also added another pearl here. Well, actually there were two. But the bigger one seems not to have sticked enough and when I first tried the mechanism it fell into the box. Of course THERE it is sticking now.

Und so sieht das ganze aus, wenn die kleine Box gedreht wurde. 

Die Schokolade darin habe ich mit einer Banderole versehen. Die ist wieder mit der hellblauen Tinte bestempelt, das 4 you ist zudem mit brauner Tinte gestempelt, ausgestanzt und mit 3D Tape auf die Banderole geklebt.

And this is what the project looks like with the inner box turned.

I've wrapped a banderole around the chocolat. It was stamped with the light blue ink again, the 4 you was also stamped with brown ink, punched out and glued on top of the banner with dimensionals. 

Und weil es ohne nicht vollständig wäre, hier noch ein Video zur Box. Sorry, ist etwas langsam ausgefallen. Irgendwie war es zu warm... .;)

Hui-Buh

Ich weiß, es ist noch etwas hin bis Halloween. Aber das kleine Gespenst hatte sich einfach auf meinen Basteltisch geschlichen. Ich denke, er wollte auch mal zum Einsatz kommen. Und so zeige ich heute auf dem Stampcorner Blog mein erstes Halloweenprojekt für dieses Jahr.

I know, there's still some time until Halloween. But this little ghost just sneaked himself onto my craft desk. I guess he finally wanted to be used. And so I am sharing my very first Halloween related project of the year over at the Stampcorner Blog today. 

Hier könnt Ihr den kleinen Spukgesellen näher sehen. Gruselig ist er ja nicht wirklich, aber dafür ein wenig frech, mit der herausgestreckten Zunge. Aber er gibt sich Mühe...

Ich habe hier die Tiny Gift Box von LawnFawn benutzt. Und ich muss sagen, die macht ihrem Namen alle Ehre. Sie ist wirklich klein! Aber für das Gespenst war doch noch genug Platz. Coloriert habe ich mit Copics.

Ich habe die Box aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und den Deckel mit schwarzem Designpapier mit weißen Punkten beklebt. Außerdem habe ich hier noch den Eerie Tree von MFT und einen Nebelschwaden, ebenfalls von MFT, aufgeklebt. 

Here you get a better look at this little creature of the night. Well, he's not really scary, but a bit sassy sticking out his tongue. But he's trying to scare you...

Here I've used the Tiny Gift Box by LawnFawn. And I have to say, the name is chosen perfectly. This box really is tiny! But at least there was enough room for the ghost. Coloring was done with Copics.

I've die cut the box from black cardstock and glued a piece of black designer's paper with white dots onto the lid. Then I've also added the Eerie Tree by MFT and some fog, also by MFT.

Die Seitenteile der Box sind mit grau-beige und orange gestreiftem Papier beklebt. Und vorne durfte noch ein Text nicht fehlen. Das Hui bringt das kleine Gespenst mit, das BUH habe ich dann mit einer Alphabet-Stanze von Craft Emotions aus schwarzem Glittercardstock gestanzt und neben das Hui geklebt.

The sides of the box are covered with a beigy grey and orange striped designer's paper. And of course there needed to be text. Hui-Buh is what german ghosts say while roaming around. The Hui was stamped, the BUH is die cut from black glitter cardstock using a die set by Craft Emotions.

Naja, und so wäre die Box fast ein wenig langweilig. Deswegen legt sich das Gespenst nochmal extra für Euch ins Zeug:

Well, the box would have been a bit boring just like that. So the ghost  is giving all he has for a little extra:

Es gibt diese Teile, um Motive wackeln zu lassen. Ich will gerade keinen Namen nennen, denn ich mache mir die, vor allem für so kleine Motive, gern selbst. Einfach ein Stück dünnen Draht zwei bis drei Mal um einen Stift wickeln und die Enden mit Heißkleber auf je einen kleinen Cardstockkreis kleben. Darauf dann das Motiv und es wackelt wunderbar. 

There are these little pieces to make an image wobble. I don't want to name it right now because I like to make them myself, especially for those smaller images. Just wrap a piece of thin wire two to three times around a pen and fix the ends to two circles cut from cardstock. Put the image on top and it wobbles perfectly. 

Leckereien ohne Ende

Achtung, wer schon vom Anschauen von Süßem zunimmt, der sollte diesen Post vielleicht nicht weiterlesen... Denn auf meiner heutigen Karte sind so einige hochkalorische Leckereien untergebracht. ;)

Caution! If you're one of those persons that only need to look at something sweet to gain weight you probably shouldn't read this post... Because there are quite a few of those high calorie treats put on today's card. ;)

Ich habe hier eine DinLang Karte gemacht, damit auch möglichst viele Motive auf die Karte passen. Dafür habe ich mit den zwei größten der DinLang Stitched Stanzen von JM Creation Rechtecke aus weißem Cardstock für die Kartenbasis und aus rosa-braun-weiß gestreiftem Designpapier gestanzt. Das passte so schön in mein Farbkonzept.

Dann habe ich noch ein gewelltes Rechteck aus rosa-weiß kariertem Designpapier ausgestanzt und zwischen die beiden Rechtecke geklebt.

I've made a slimeline card here to have enough room for a lot of images on my card. I've die cut two stitched rectangles in slimline size, once from white cardstock for my card base and once from pink, brown and white striped designer's paper which went perfect with the colors I had used for the images.

Then I've also die cut a scalloped rectangle from red and white checked designer's paper and glued it between those two straight rectangles.

Quer über die Karte habe ich dann die Motive aus dem Stempelset Lustiges Gebäck, die ich mit Copics coloriert und ausgeschnitten habe, geklebt und jeder Leckerei einen kleinen Text zugeordnet. Hier seht Ihr den Muffin, das Croissant und eine Eisetüte. Ich habe jeweils rosa, braun, dunkelbraun und auf einigen Motiven noch rot für die Coloration verwendet. Die Text, die ebenfalls im Stempelset enthalten sind, habe ich braun auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und ausgeschnitten. Motive und Texte sind mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

Across the card I've glued all those sweet images that were colored with Copics and cut out by hand and I also put a matching saying under each image. Here you see the cupcake, the crescent and an ice cone. I went with pink, brown, darkbrown and for some images with red for my coloring. The text were stamped with brown ink onto white cardstock and cut out as well. The ones on this picture mean "eat me", "small and yummy" and "so sweet". Images and text are glued onto the card with dimensionals.

Und hier sind ein Stück Torte, ein Donut - der übrigens ein wenig aus der Reihe tanzt denn er ist der einzige, der in die andere Richtung schaut - und ein Törtchen. 

Zum Schluss habe ich ein paar braune Enamel Accents zwischen den Motiven verteilt.

And here's a slice of cake, a donut - which is kind of a rebell since he's the only one looking in the other direction - and a small cake. The text here mean "hip gold" (a german word for something that jumps right onto your hips when you eat it), "calorie bomb" and "pure joy". 

At then end I've also added a few dark brown Enamel Accents inbetween the images.

Life without you

Mit dieser Karte, die ich heute auf dem Stamping-Fairies Blog zeige, setze ich meinen Vorsatz, jeden Monat mindestens eine Karte mit älteren Stempelsets zu machen, gleich zu Beginn des Monats um.

With this card, that I'm sharing over at the Stamping-Fairies Blog today, I am already posting the card that goes with my very own challenge to make at least one card per month using older stamps.

Bei dieser Karte habe ich mich selbst "geliftet". Ich hatte ja bereits vor etwa einem Jahr eine Karte mit drehbarer Waschtrommel gemacht. Damals wurde nur Wäsche gewaschen. Diesmal steckt etwas anderes in der Waschmaschine.

With this card I've kind of scrapliftet myself. About a year ago I've already made a card with a turnable washing drum. Back then the machine was loaded with laundry. This time it's loaded with something else.

Ich habe hier das Fliesen-Schachbrettmuster per Hand mit Copics gezeichnet, die Wand habe ich ganz leicht und nach oben auslaufend mit Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass gewischt. Der weiße Cardstock ist schwarz gemattet und auf eine weiße Kartenbasis geklebt.

Here I've hand drawn the tiles on the floor with Copics, the wall is very lightly covered with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass, making the color fade out towards the top edge of the card. The white cardstock is matted black and glued onto a white note card.

Waschmaschine, Waschpulver und Dreckwäsche - oder hier sieht sie eher wie schon gewaschen und noch nicht gefaltet aus - sind alle aus dem Stempelset Loads of Fun. Ich bin ehrlich. Ich hatte lange überlegt, ob ich das Set kaufen soll. Wer mag schon eine Karte mit Hausarbeit? Aber ich bin so froh, dass ich es getan habe! Und wenn die Karte so daher kommt, ist auch ein Haltshaltsmotiv absolut willkommen.

In der Waschmaschine dreht sich ein kleiner Teddybär. Der ist aus dem Stempelset You're Claw-Some, ebenfalls ein älteres Stempelset. Und weil es so schön von der Größe her passte, habe ich noch einen I Love You Text mit Herzen aus dem Stempelset Reveal Wheel Circle Sentiments um den Bären herumgestempelt. Oh, und ein paar Waschmittelblasen - die mit der Waschmaschine kommen - durften auch nicht fehlen.

Vor der Maschine sitzt der kleine Fuchs, dem der Teddy gehört. Das erinnert mich an meine Kinder. Die saßen auch immer - fast weinend - vor der Waschmaschine, wenn das Lieblingskuscheltier wirklich mal gewaschen werden musste. Der Fuchs ist der größere aus dem Stempelset Upon a Star.

Alle Motive sind mit Copics coloriert.

Für den Text habe ich einen Stempel aus dem Stempelset Panda Pals von MFT genommen. Das Wortspiel mit "unbearable" fand ich so klasse zu dem Bären in der Maschine. ;)

Washing machine, washing powder and the basket full of laundry - that actually looks more like it's already been washed but not folded here on my card - are all from the Loads of Fun stamp set. I want to be honest: I really wasn't sure if I'd use this set or not. Who wants to get a card that reminds them or household chores? But I am so glad I bought it! And when a card looks like that even a household image should be very welcome.

In the washing machine a little teddy bear is taking it's rounds. This image is from the You're Claw-Some stamp set, which is also an older set. And since it fit so perfectly in size I've also stamped a I Love You text with hearts from the Reveal Wheel Circle Sentiments stamp set around the bear. Oh, and a few soap bubbles - that are included in the Loads of Fun set - just needed to be added as well.

In front of the machine there's the little fox sitting, waiting for his bear to finally be clean. That reminds me of when my girls were little. They were always sitting in front of the machine, nearly crying, when their favorite stuffed animal needed a wash. The fox is the bigger one from the Upon a Star stamp     set.

All images are colored with Copics.

For the text I've used a stamp from the Panda Pals stamp set by MFT. I just liked that play with the word "unbearable" with the bear inside the machine.

Kleckse und Streifen

Auf dieser Karte, die ich heute auf dem Stampcorner Blog zeige, habe ich mal die neuen Stempelsets Kleckse und Träume verwendet. Auch wenn die Kleckse im ersten Moment nicht sofort ins Auge stechen - sie sind da!

Over at the Stampcorner Blog I am sharing this card today for which I've used two august release stamp sets - one with texts and one with color splots. And even if those might not be catched immediately - they are there.

Ich habe hier zuerst den Streifen mit dem Text und den Kleckse gewerkelt - und dann wusste ich nicht so recht, wie weitermachen. Aber dann kam mir die Idee, den Hintergrund im Streifendesign zu gestalten. Ich habe Streifen aus verschiedenen Blautönen geschnitten und sie so angeordnet, dass sie von außen zur Mitte immer dunkler werden. Das Blau gefällt mir super in Kombi mit dem Pink. Und die Tatsache, dass einige der Papiere strukturiert sind, macht den Hintergrund noch interessanter, finde ich.

When making this card I first created the panel with the text and the splots - and then I was stuck and didn't know how to finish this card. Then I got the idea of creating a striped background. I've cut strips of cardstocks in different tones of blues and then glued them down so they are light on the outer edges and get darker towards the middle. I love the color combo of blue and pink here. And the fact that some of those cardstocks are structured just adds even more interest to the background.

Und hier ist nun das Panel mit den Klecksen und dem Text. Die Kleckse habe ich mit Fade Out Stempelfarbe von Ink on 3, die extra für No-Line Coloring hergestellt ist, abgestempelt und dann mit Copics coloriert. Dabei habe ich die Kleckse innen dunkler, an den Rändern heller coloriert. Das geniale bei den Klecksen ist, dass kein Problem ist, wenn man bei der No-Line Technik mal etwas außerhalb der Stempellinien gerät. Bei Figuren oder Tieren ja eher unglücklich.

Quer über die Kleckse habe ich dann mit Picked Raspberry Archival Ink zweimal den Pinselstreifen, ebenfalls aus dem Stempelset Kleckse, gestempelt. Den habe ich als Hintergrund für meinen Text verwendet. So werden die dicken Buchstaben gleich gefüllt. Ich habe einfach das Glückwunsch auf den Streifen gestempelt und die kleineren Textteile anschließend daran gestempelt.

Um noch ein wenig mehr schwarz zu verwenden, habe ich noch einige schwarze Enamel Accents aufgeklebt.

Der Streifen ist mit schwarzem Carstock gemattet, aber ich wollte etwas mehr Kontrast zum blau-gestreiften Hintergrund. Deswegen habe ich eine Lage Vellum auf den Hintergrund geklebt und darauf dann den bestempelten Streifen geklebt.

Und um die Karte doch noch ein wenig feierlicher zu gestalten, habe ich noch die Luftballons aus dem Really High Five Stempelset von LawnFawn abgestempelt. Ich habe ebenfalls das Fade Out Ink Kissen benutzt und die Ballons leicht überlappend abgestempelt. Nach dem Colorieren habe ich sie ausgeschnitten und mit 3D Tape auf die Karte geklebt.

And here's the panel with the splots and the text. I've stamped the spots with Fade Out Ink by Ink on 3. This ink is created escpecially for no-line coloring. I've used Copics here and used the darker tones in the middle areas of the spots, getting lighter towards the edges. The great thing about coloring spots is that you don't have to stay exactly inside the stamped lines - something's that essential when coloring critters and other images doing the no-line technique.

Across the spots I've stamped the brush stroke image twice using Picked Raspberry Archival Ink. I've used this as the background for my text. The large letters get filled in automatically. I've stamped the large word right in the middle of the strokes, then added the smaller parts of the text. It means "heartfelt congratulations from all of us".

To add some more black I've glued down a few black Enamel Accents.

This panel is matted with black cardstock but it felt like I needed some more contrast to those blue strips. So I've glued a strip of vellum onto the background and added the stamped on panel on top of that.

To add a more festive touch to the card I've added the balloons from the Really High Five stamp set by LawnFawn. I've used the Fade Out ink again and stamped the balloons making them overlap a bit. After coloring them in I've cut them out and glued them onto the card with dimensionals.
