Winter-Post

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Das Januar-Release von Concord and 9th hat es mir total angetan und das ein oder andere Set ist in meinen Warenkorb gewandert. Und weil da dann auch noch einige kleine Winterstanzen drinlagen, habe ich das Happy Mail Set mal winterlich umgesetzt.

 Concord and 9th's january release was totally my  alley and I had to order a few sets. Well, there were also some small winter die sets in my cart and so I used the Happy Mail set for this winter card.

 

Ich finde die Karte auch von außen schön - schlicht, aber durchaus nicht langweilig. Aber das ist mal wieder eine Karte, bei der die inneren Werte zählen...

 

I like the card front - it's simple, but not boring. But this is once again a card, where the surprise is on the inside.... 

 

 Ich habe hellblauen Cardstock mit der Grund-Stanze aus dem Happy Mail Set in Form gebracht und ihn dann mit dem dazu passenden Embossingfolder geprägt. So wird aus einem bogenförmigen Cardstockstück ganz einfach ein Briefkasten.

Ich habe den Cardstock von unten her ein wenig dunkler gewischt und außerdem mit passenden Copics den eingeprägten Rahmen dunkler gemalt. 

Auf den Brief und das Wort Post, die erhaben sind, habe ich weiße Pigmenttinte aufgedrückt. Das sieht man aber wegen des schon sehr hellen Cardstocks nicht wirklich. Also habe ich mit einem graublauen Copic einen Schlagschatten und mit einem weißen Gelstift Highlights aufgemalt. 

Als Deko habe ich rund um das Wort Post drei kleine Herzen aufgemalt.

 

I die cut the main shape from light blue cardstock using one of the dies from the Happy Mail die set and then dry embossed it with the matching embossing folder. It turns an arch in no time into a mailbox.

I inked the bottom of the mailbox a bit darker and also used some matching Copics to trace the debossed frame.

I dabbed some white pigment ink onto the letter and the word post, that are raised. Because I started with such light blue cardstock you don't really see the white ink. So I used a grey-ish blue Copic marker to add a drop shadow and a white gel pen to add some highlights to those two elements.

As decoration I added three small hearts around the word post.

 

 Den Verschluss und - ich denke - das Schlüsselloch oben am Briefkasten habe ich aus matt-silbernem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt.

Aus weißem Cardstock habe ich dann frei Hand Schneehauben für den oberen Teil der Mailbox ausgeschnitten und leicht schattiert.

Und weil mir alles doch ein wenig zu fad war, habe ich per Hand ein Fähnchen aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock ausgeschnitten, das anzeigt, dass Post da ist. Ich habe das Fähnchen mit einem blauen Herz dekoriert, das ich auf einen weißen, schwarz gematteten Kreis geklebt habe. Daneben befindet sich eine kleine Schneeflocke. Außerdem habe ich eine Schleife aus weiß-silbernem Twine an das Fähnchen gebunden und es dann hinter die Front der Mailbox geklebt.

 

The closure and - I think - the key hole at the top of the mailbox I cut from matte silver metallic cardstock. 

From white cardstock I cut some snow for the top of the mailbox, simply using my scissors, and shaded it a light blue.

And because the card front looked a bit too boring to me I added a little flag from silver glitter cardstock, that signals that there's mail. I decorated the flag with a blue heart, that I glued onto a white, matted black circle. Next to it I added a small snowflake. I also tied a bow from white and silver twine around the flag and then glued it behind the card front.

 

 Und so sieht die Karte  dann geöffnet aus - und ja, vielleicht bin ich ein wenig eskaliert. Aber so steckt wirklich Winter drin...

 

This is the opened card - and yes, maybe I escalated a bit. But now there's real winter inside the mailbox.

 

 Für die Deko habe ich dann alle möglichen Firmen kombiniert.

Auf die hintere innere Seite habe ich dunkelblauen Cardstock geklebt, auf den ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt habe. Und weil das immer noch zu langweilig war, habe ich aus Vellum den Aufleger aus dem Snowflake Tunnel Card Set von ScappyTails ausgeschnitten, unten etwas gekürzt und aufgeklebt. Außerdem habe ich - auf beide innere Seiten - einen Rahmen mit einem silbernen Gelstift aufgemalt. 

 

For the decorations on the inside I combined all kind of brands. 

I glued a piece of dark blue cardstock onto the inner backside. I splattered white acrylic paint onto it and since it still was missing something I die cut the top layer of the Snowflake Tunnel Card by ScrappyTails from vellum, cut it a bit shorter and glued it onto the back. I also drew a frame onto both inner sides using a silver gel pen.

 

 Die großen Briefkuverts sind mit einer der Stanzen aus dem Happy Mail Set gemacht, wobei ich für den braunen Umschlag das Ende eines zweiten Stanzteils mit einer großen Kreisstanze ausgestanzt und als Klappe aufgeklebt habe. Für den Verschluss habe ich das "Schlüsselloch" benutzt und darunter silbernes Garn in 8er-Form gelegt. Das habe ich dann oben zur Schleife gebunden.

Der kleine Briefumschlag ist aus dem Postage Collage Mini Seals Set von WaffleFlower und aus cremefarbenem Cardstock gestanzt. Darin steckt dann ein Brief aus dem selben Set, darauf habe ich mit hellblauer Tinte einen der Texte aus dem Open Book Trio Stempelset aufgestempelt. 

Der blaue Umschlag ist ein wenig gewischt und mit einer Schleife dekoriert. Die schmalen Streifen habe ich einfach mit dem Cutter geschnitten, die Schleife ist aus dem Postage Collage Gifts Set von WaffleFlower. Ich habe oben eine kleine Briefmarke - gemacht mit einer Stanze aus dem Happy Mail Set und diversen Postage Collage Stempeln - aufgeklebt und quer mit hellblauer Tinte einen Entwertungsstreifen aufgestempelt. Das Adressfeld ist wieder aus dem Set Open Book Trio.  

Ich habe alle Elemente mit Copics schattiert.  

 In das kleine, offene Briefkuvert habe ich dann Schneeflocken-Sticks von Gummiapan sowie Pflanzen aus dem Postage Collage Mini Seals Set gesteckt. Drumherum habe ich dann kleine Herzen und winzige Schneeflocken verteilt. Und weil ich von dem Schneeflocken-Bogen aus Vellum noch kleine Schneeflocken als "Müll" hatte - und das sogar doppelt denn ich habe mich einmal verklebt und musste den Bogen zweimal stanzen - habe ich die auch noch als Deko auf den Briefen verteilt. Außerdem habe ich einen kleinen Schnörkel mit Schneeflocken aus dem Snowflake Tunnel Card Set aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt, zerschnitten und in Teilen hinter den Briefen angebracht.

 

The large envelopes are made using a die from Happy Mail. For the brown envelope I used a large circle die to cut off the top of a second die cut and used it as a flap. For the seal I used the "key hole" die from the set and put some silver twine in the shape of an 8 under the circles, then tieing it into a little bow. 

The small envelope is from Postage Collage Mini Seals by WaffleFlower and cut from cream colored cardstock. Inside I tucked a letter from the same set, that I had stamped one of the texts from Open Book Trio onto.

The blue envelope I inked a bit at the bottom and decorated it with a bow. I simply cut the thin paper strips with my paper cutter, the bow is from Postage Collage Gifts by WaffleFlower.  I added a small stamp to the top, made using a die vom Happy Mail and different Postage Collage stamp set, then stamped a cancellation mark with light blue ink all over it. The adress is once again made using a stamp from Open Book Trio.

I shaded all elements with Copics.

I then tucked some snowflake picks by Gummiapan and different foliage from Postasge Collage Mini Seals into the open envelope. Around those I added small hearts and tiny snowflakes. And because I had those small vellum snowflakes left over - the trash from the snowflake arch in the background - I scattered those onto and behind the evelopes. I even had double the amount of those snowflakes because I adhered the first arch wrong and wasn't able to salvage it and had to cut a new one for the card. I also die cut a small flourish with snowflakes from Snowflake Tunnel Card from silver glitter cardstock, cut it into pieces and adhered those behind the envelopes.

 

 Den Text meiner Karte habe ich auf die Rückseite der Kartenfront angebracht, die beim Aufklappen den Boden der Karte bildet. 

Ich habe hier das Wort Winter mit der Winter Word Stanze von MariannneDesign gestanzt  und aufgeklebt. Die Shadow Layer ist aus dunkelblauem, das Wort selbst aus silbernem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt. 

Darüber und darunter habe ich dann "sending" und "wishes and snowflake kisses" weiß aufembosst. Die Texte sind aus dem Bitty Holiday Wishes Set von MFT. 

Rund um den Text habe ich einige weitere Herzen aufgeklebt.

 

I placed the text onto the backside of the cardfront, that lays flat and makes the bottom when the card is opened.

I die cut and adhered the word winter here, made using the Winter word die by MarianneDesign. I cut the shadow layer from dark blue cardstock, the word from silver glitter cardstock.

Above and under it I white heat embossed "sending" and "wishes and snowflake kisses" onto the card. Those texts are from Bitty Holiday Wishes by MFT.

Then I glued some more hearts around the text.

 

 Und auf diesem Foto sieht man, wie weit die Briefe from Hintergrund aufstehen. Beim Zusammenklappen falten sie sich flach zusammen. Für den Mechanismus gibt es im Happy Mail Set natürlich ebenfalls eine Stanze.

 

And on this picture you can see, how far the envelopes pop up from the background. When the card is folded, the envelopes lay down flat. Of course there's also a die for this mechanism included in the Happy Mail set.

 

Love is in the Air

Eigentlich bin ich ja der "Schmeiß-die-Reste-Weg-Typ". Aber auf dieser Karte kamen einige Elemente zum Einsatz, die ich tatsächlich einige Zeit aufgehoben hatte, mit dem Ziel, sie auf einer Karte zu verarbeiten. Und das habe ich dann auch tatsächlich getan, sogar zwei verschiedene Reste.

I am the "throw-away-those-leftovers" type of crafter. But on this card I used some elements that I had lying on my desk because I might be able to use them on another card. That's what happened, and I even used two different types of leftovers.

 

Ihr ahnt es bestimmt - es sind die roten Herzen und die Punkte aus silbernem Metallic-Cardstock. Ich weiß gar nicht mehr, von welchen Karten sie übriggeblieben waren, sie lagen doch einige Zeit auf meinem Tisch. Bevor sie mich so stören, dass sie doch noch im Müll landen, habe ich ganz bewusst eine Karte damit gemacht, die tatsächlich auf den Resten aufgebaut ist.

Der Hintergrund besteht aus einem Stück hell-türkis farbenen Cardstock, in den ich mit dem Head in the Clouds Embossingfolder von Spellbinders Wolken eingeprägt habe. 

Mit Copics habe ich unter die Wolken jeweils einen Schatten gemalt und oben auf die Wolken Highlights mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt. Das lässt sie noch plastischer wirken. Dann habe ich feine Spritzer weißer Acrylfarbe aufgetragen.

 

You might already have guessed it - the leftovers are the red hearts and the dots made from silver metallic cardstock. I even don't remember, what cards those were left over from, they were on my desk for quite some time. So before I get sick of them and they and up in the trash, I decided to use them and really  started the whole card with these.

The background is made from a piece of light aqua cardstock, that I dry embossed some clouds into using the Head in the Clouds Embossinfolder by Spellbinders.

I used Copics to draw a shadow under each cloud and a white gel pen to add some highlights. This makes them look even more dimensional. Then I added fine splatters of white acrylic paint on top.

 

 Die Herzen und Punkte habe ich dann im oberen Bereich der Karte alls Streifen schräg aufgeklebt, so als würden sie über den Himmel fliegen. Auf die  Herzen habe ich etwas klaren Nuvo Aqua Shimmer aufgetragen und dann klar-irisierende Glitzersteine zwischen und auf den Herzen verteilt. 

 

I glued the hearts and dots as a strip across the top of the background, just like they are floating by in the sky. I added a hint of a clear Nuvo Aqua Shimmer to the hearts and then put clear iridescent rhinestones on and between the hearts.

 

 Unten auf die  Karte habe ich dann eine Maus aus dem Falling Star Set von ColoradoCraft aufgeklebt. Die sreckt beide Arme nach oben, so als würde sie eines der Herzen fangen wollen. 

Die Maus ist mit Copics coloriert, auf die Nase habe ich Glossy Accents aufgetragen. Dann habe ich sie per Hand ausgeschnitten.

Hier unten befindet sich auch der Text meiner Karte. Das Wort love habe ich mit der Swirled Love Stanze von Poppystamps gemacht. Es besteht aus drei Lagen schwarzen Cardstocks mit einer leicht versetzten roten Lage obenauf. Den Schnörkel am Ende des E habe ich entlang des Rands der Kante weggeschnitten. Auf die rote Lage habe ich wieder etwas von dem klaren Nuvo Aqua Shimmer aufgetragen.

Das kleinere "is in the air" darunter  ist aus dem Spring Stempelset von HoneyBeeStamps und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. 

 

At the bottom of the card I added a mouse from Falling Star by ColoradoCraft. She's putting both her arms up in the air, just like she wants to catch one of the hearts.

I colored the mouse with Copics and put some Glossy Accents onto the nose. Then I cut her out with my scissors.

Down here I also added the text to my card. The word love is made with the Swirled Love die by Poppystamps. I built it from three black layers with a red layer a bit offset on top. The swirl  at the end of the e I cut off along the edge of the background. Again I applied some of the clear Nuvo Aqua Shimmer to the red  layer.

The smaller "is in the air" under it is from the Spring stamp set by HoneyBeeStamps and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

 

 Die silbernen Punkte sind direkt, die Herzen mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Hinter die Maus und dem embossten Text habe ich dickes 3D Tape angebracht.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I glued the silver dots directly, the hearts with thin foam tape onto the background. The mouse and the embossed text I adhered with thick foam tape.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Typewriter-Karte zum Valentinstag

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Dieses Jahr habe ich ja nicht wirklich viele Valentinstagskarten gemacht. Heute aber habe ich eine weitere, die ich Euch zeigen kann. 

Ich habe dafür die PopUp Typewriter Stanze von ScrappyTails verwendet. Die Stanze ist als Kit mit anderen Sets, die hier teilweise ebenfalls zum Einsatz kamen, oder aber einzeln zu bekommen. Eigentlich ist sie für eine PopUp-Karte gedacht, ich habe sie aber ein wenig so abgeändert, dass eine flache Karte in Schreibmaschinen-Form entstanden ist. Das geht ganz einfach. Und langweilig ist die Karte trotzdem nicht, denn ich habe einen  Slider mit eingebaut... ;)

This year I didn't make many valentine's cards. But today I have another one to share with you.

I used the PopUp Typewriter set by ScrappyTails here. This die is available in the kit, together with other sets and a few of them I used on this card as well, or individually. Originally it is designed to make a PopUp card but I changed it a bit to end up with a typewriter shaped regular card. This is really easy to do. And the card still isn't boring because I included a slider here... ;)

 

Passend zum Valentinstag habe ich viel Rot auf dieser Karte eingesetzt. 

Die Basis der Schreibmaschine ist aus rotem Mirror-Cardstock gestanzt, der Aufleger aus rotem Glitter-Cardstock. Für die Details wie Tasten und Oberteil kam dann schwarzer und silbernen Mirror-Cardstock zum Einsatz. 

Um die PopUp Karte in eine flache Karte abzuwandeln, habe ich die beiden Seitenteile ein weiteres Mal ausgestanzt und entlang der Falzlinie, die eigentlich die Tastatur in ein PopUp verwandelt, abgeschnitten. 

Für die Kartenbasis habe ich dann die Schreibmaschine aus einem gefalteten weißen Kartenrohling so ausgestanzt, dass die Falz mit dem oberen Ende des roten Teils bündig war. Hier muss man dann auch gar kein Partial Diecutting einsetzen, denn die Stanze schneidet hier sowieso nicht. 

 

To fit the valentine theme I used a lot of red on this card.

I die cut the base of the typewriter from red mirror cadstock, the curved decorative piece from red glitter cardstock. For the details like keys and the top part I used silver and black mirror cardstock.

To turn this PopUp card into a flat card I die cut the two side pieces again and cut them off along the two scoring lines, that are meant to create the box for the keys.

For the card base I cut the typewriter from a folded white card base, alining the fold with the end of the red main piece of my card. You even don't have to do partial die cutting here because the die has no cutting line in this area.

 

 Die oberen Flächen der Tasten habe ich aus silbernem Mirror-Cardstock gestanzt. Und damit die Schreibmaschine auch schön vintage aussieht, habe ich alle Teile leicht mit einem Sanding Block angeschliffen, so dass der weiße bzw. braune Cardstock dahinter ein wenig zum Vorschein kommt. Ich fand, so eine schöne alte Schreibmaschine darf ruhig ein paar Macken haben. 

Wie schon erwähnt, ist die Stanze für eine PopUp Karte gedacht. So wirkt die Tastatur natürlich super plastisch. Damit meine nicht ganz so flach aussieht, habe ich jede der Tastenreihen mit zwei Lagen aus normalem schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt und dann aufeinander geklebt. So hat auch meine Schreibmaschine etwas Tiefe. Die beiden zusätzlich ausgestanzten Seitenteile habe ich dann mit 3D Tape angeklebt, um die Höhe der Tasten auszugleichen.  

Das Love-Schild auf der Maschine ist ebenfalls aus dem Stanzenset und ich fand das als Marke hier super passend. 

Ein wenig Deko durfte auch hier nicht fehlen. Also habe ich die Mohnblumen aus dem Typewriter Blooms Set aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics in Grau und Rot coloriert. Da ich nur eine der Blumen aufkleben wollte, aber bereits beide ausgestanzt hatte, habe ich den Blütenteil der zweiten Blume einfach hinter die Blume geklebt und sie so voller gemacht. 

Die Blütenmitte habe ich aus normalem schwarzen Cardstock gestanzt, die Zweige dahinter wieder aus silbernem und schwarzem Spiegel-Cardstock. 

 

I die cut the upper parts of the keys from white mirror cardstock. And to give my typewriter a vintage touch I went over it with a sanding block to bring out the white and brown cardstock behind the shiny surface in just a few areas. I think, such a wonderful vintage typewriter could use some signs of its long life.

As mentioned already this die is made to create a PopUp card and of course that makes the keyboard very dimensional. To add at least some dimension to my typewriter I backed each row of keys with two layers that I cut from regular black cardstock and glued them on top of each other. Then I glued the two additional side pieces to the base using foam tape, to even out the thickness of the keys. 

Of course my card needed a bit of decoration. So I die cut the poppy flowers  from the Typewriter Blooms set from white cardstock and colored them grey and red using Copics. Since I decided to only add one flower, but had cut and colored both of them I simply glued the bloom of the second one behind this one to make it more full. 

I cut the flower center from regular black cardstock, the leaves behind the flower from black and silver mirror cardstock.

 

 So sieht die Karte aufgestellt aus - und Ihr könnt die Form des Kartenrohlings etwas erkennen. Außerdem sieht man hier den Glanz und Glitter auf der Karte besonders gut. 

Die Blume habe ich unten auf die Karte geklebt und die Karte mit ein paar silbernen Perlen dekoriert. 

 

This is the card all propped up - and you can see the shape of the card base better. On this picture you can also make out all the shine and glitter on it.

I glued the flower across the bottom of the card and added a few silver pearls as decoration.

 

 Und hier ist der bereits angekündigte Slider. Ich weiß nicht, wer von Euch überhaupt noch Schreibmaschinen kennt. Aber je mehr man schrieb, desto weiter kam das Papier aus dem oberen Ende der Schreibmaschine heraus. Das habe ich versucht, mit meinem Slider nachzubasteln...

 

And here's the slider that I included and already mentioned above. I have no idea how many of you still know typewriters. The more you wroter, the farther the paper came out at the top end. This is what I tried to mimic on my card...

 

 Im Typewriter-Set ist auch ein Papier für die Maschine enthalten. Ich habe hier aber die Rechteck-Stanze aus dem Valentine Playing Cards Set benutzt - einfach, weil ich unbedingt den tollen Schnörkelrand mit einbauen wollte. 

Ich habe das Rechteck  aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Lost Shadow und Hickory Smoke ein wenig gewischt. Dann habe ich unten einen Teil der tollen großen Blüte aus dem Typewriter Notes Stempelset aufgestempelt und dafür Lost Shadow benutzt. Ich weiß, dadurch, dass das Papier nicht komplett aus der Schreibmaschine herausrutscht, sieht man nur einen Teil der Blüte. Aber sie macht das Papier doch viel interessanter und romantischer. 

Den Schnörkelrahmen habe ich wieder aus rotem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt und aufgeklebt. Und ebenfalls aus dem Valentine Playing Cards Set sind die beiden Vögel. Die habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Einem habe ich ein Herz aus rotem Mirror-Cardstock in den Schnabel gegeben. 

Der "you are just my type" Text ist ebenfalls aus dem Typewriter Notes Stempelset. Um auch den rechten Vogel unterbringen zu können, habe ich die Anordnung der Worte etwas abgeändert. Das "just" befindet sich eigentlich in der ersten Reihe. Das geht aber mit dem Misti wirklich einfach. 

Als Tab zum Herausziehen des Papiers/Sliders habe ich die Klammer aus dem Valentine Envelope AddOn Set verwendet und aus dem selben Set noch das winzige Feb 14 verwendet und als Datum oben rechts auf den Brief geklebt. 

Für den Slider-Mechanismus habe ich dann einfach unten quer einen dünnen Streifen Cardstock an den Brief geklebt und die Schreibmaschine mit dünnem 3D  Tape zuerst auf einer aus weißem Cardstock gestanzten Schreibmaschine und dann mit flüssigem Kleber auf dem Kartenrohling befestigt. Die weiße Schreibmaschine habe ich einfach deswegen eingebaut, um eine saubere Rückseite zu haben. Das 3D Tape habe ich so angebracht, dass der Brief nicht beim Auf- und Abgleiten behindert wird. Aber das generelle Prinzip einer Slider-Card sollte jedem bekannt sein. 

 

There's also a sheet of paper included in the Typewriter set. I didn't use that here but went with the rectangle from the Valentine Playing Cards set - simply because I wanted to include the beautiful flourish frame, too.

I cut the rectangle from white cardstock and lightly shaded it with Distress Ink Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke. Then I stamped a part of the wonderful and large flower from the Typewriter Notes stamp set onto the paper using Lost Shadow ink. I know, since the paper can only be pulled out a bit more than half you don't see much of that flower, but it still  adds some interest to the letter  and makes it more romantic.

I die cut the flourish frame from red glitter paper and glued it on. And those little birds are also from the Valentine Playing Cards set. I cut them from white cardstock and colored them with Copics. I added a heart, cut from red mirror cardstock, to one of the birds.

The "you are my type" text is again from the Typewriter Notes stamp set.  To have enough room for the bird on the right side I changed the arangement of the words slightly - the just is originally in the upper line. But that's an easy fix thanks to the Misti. 

As a pull tab I added the large clasp from Valentine Envelope AddOn and also added the small Feb 14 from the same set as the date in the upper right corner of the letter.

For the slider mechanism I simply added a thin strip of cardstock to the bottom of the letter and glued the typewriter with thin foam tape to a typewriter cut from white cardstock, then glued this sandwich to my card base. You can skip the white typewriter, I just like to have a clean back. When adding the foam tape I made sure that the paper can slide up and down freely. But I think the general technique behind a slider card is commonly known.

 

Winterkarte mit Frühlingstouch

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ich komme langsam an den Punkt - im Bastel- wie auch im richtigen Leben -, an dem ich mich nach dem Frühling sehne, auch wenn ich natürlich weiß, dass der noch ein wenig auf sich warten lassen wird. Aber immer dann, wenn ich an diesem Punkt angekommen bin, fangen draußen die Schneeglöckchen an zu blühen. Und genau das drückt meine heutige Karte aus.

I am coming to the point - in real life as in my crafting - where I am longing for spring, knowing it will take a little longer until it's here. But everytime I reach that point, the snowdrops start blooming in my garden. And that's what I tried to put onto this card.

 

Der Hintergrund besteht aus dunkeltürkis farbenem Cardstock. Ich habe ein Stück, etwas kleiner als mein Kartenrohling, und ein weiteres Stück, dass ich passend zu dem Schneeflockenrahmen zugeschnitten habe, jeweils mit dem Pixie Snowflake Embossingfolder von SimonSaysStamp embosst und zwar so, dass das Muster fortlaufend ist, wenn das kleinere Stück mittig auf dem größeren liegt. 

Den Snowflake Frame, ebenfalls von SimonSaysStamp, habe ich aus weißem Schimmer-Cardstock gestanzt und darauf das kleinere Stück Cardstock aufgeklebt. 

Auf die erhabenen Stellen der Prägung habe ich dann ein weißes Stempelkissen gedrückt, um die große Schneeflocke etwas mehr hervorzuheben. Außerdem habe ich die Punkte rund um die Schneeflocke mit eine klaren Glitzer-Gelstift nachgemalt. 

 

The background is made from dark turquoise cardstock. I cut one piece slightly smaller than my card base, another one I cut to go with the snowflake frame. Then I dry embossed the large snowflake into both pieces using the Pixie Snowflake embossing folder by SimonSaysStamp and making sure, that the pattern is continuous when the smaller pieces lays centered on the larger one.

The Snowflake Frame, also by SimonSaysStamp, I die cut from white pearlescent cardstock, and cut the smaller embossed cardstock onto it.

I pressed a white pigment ink pad onto the raised areas of the snowflake to bring it out a bit more. Then I put some glitter onto the dots, using a clear glitter gel pen.

 

 Auf der Karte fliegt eine Taube. Aber statt einem Olivenzweig hat diese hier ein kleines Schneeglöckchen im Schnabel und verkündet so den nahenden Frühling.

Die Taube ist mit dem Peaceful Dove Stanzenset von SimonSaysStamp gemacht. Ich habe sie dreimal aus drei verschiedenen Tönen türkisfarbenen Cardstocks gestanzt und dabei aus der hellsten Taube die eigentlich als Aufleger gedachten Dekoelemente am Rücken und Schwanz herausgestanzt. Am Rücken habe ich dann ein Stück aus dem mittleren Farbton eingesetzt, außerdem befindet sich eine komplette Taube aus diesem Farbton hinter der ersten. Ich habe alle Teile der Taube mit Copics ein wenig schattiert und sie dann leicht versetzt aufeinander geklebt. Auf die Flügel und den Schwanz habe ich ein wenig Schimmer aufgetragen.

Das Schneeglöckchen, das die Taube im Schnabel trägt, ist eines aus dem Büschel aus Schneeglöckchenpracht Klein von CreativeDepot. Ich habe es aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. 

 

There's a dove flying on my card. Instead of an olive branch she's carrying a small snowdrop, proving that spring will be here soon.

I made the dove using the Peaceful Dove die set by SimonSaysStamp. I cut it three times, using three different shades of turquoise cardstock. There are dies that cut some decor elements for the tail and the back. I cut those from the lightest of my doves and put the piece on the back in, cut from the middle tone of cardstock. Then I glued that lightest dove onto a whole one, cut from the middle shade of cardstock. I shaded all pieces of the dove with Copics and then glued all three layers on top of each other, setting them a bit off. Onto the wings and tail I added a bit of a clear shimmer.

The snowdrop in the dove's beak is one from the bushel of snowdrops from Schneeglöckchenpracht Klein by CreativeDepot. I cut it from white cardstock and colored it with Copics.

 

 Auf der rechten Seite der Karte wächst ebenfalls ein Schneeglöckchen, diesmal aber ein größeres. Diese Stanze ist ebenfalls von CreativeDepot, diemal habe ich das Großes Schneeglöckchen benutzt. Auch das ist aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. 

Der Schneehügel, aus dem es herauswächst, ist mit einer der Grounding Elements Stanze von MFT gemacht.

 

On the right side of the card there's another snowdrop, this time a larger one. The die is again from CreativeDepot and is called Großes Schneeglöckchen. I again cut it from white cardstock and colored it with Copics.

The pile of snow, that it's growing out of, is made using one of the dies from Grounding Elements by MFT.

Das kleine Hello ist aus dem Itty Bitty Baby Set von MFT und schwarz auf helltürkis farbenen Cardstock gestempelt.

Das Wort Spring darunter ist aus dem Stanzenset Great Greetings Spring von HoneyBeeStamps. Ich habe die Schattenlage aus helltürkis farbenen Cardstock gestanzt, das Wort an sich zweimal aus weißem Schimmer-Cardstock. 

 

The text I adhered to the bottom left of my card.

The small word hello is from Itty Bitty Baby by MFT and stamped black onto light aqua cardstock.

The word spring under it is from Great Greetings Spring by HoneyBeeStamps. I cut the shadow layer from light aqua cardstock, the word two times from white pearlescent cardstock.

 

 Ich habe den Schneeflockenrahmen mit 3D Tape auf den dunkeltürkis farbenen Cardstock geklebt. Darauf habe ich dann, ebenfalls mit 3D Tape, die Taube und den Text aufgeklebt. Hinter dem großen Schneeglöckchen habe ich das Tape dann aufgedoppelt.

Als Deko habe ich einige weiße Perlen auf dem Hintergrund verteilt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

I adhered the snowflake frame with foam tape to the background. Then I put the dove and text on top, using foam tape again. Behind the snowdrop I doubled up the foam tape.

I added some white pearls to the background, then adhered the card panel toa  white note card.

Heute habe ich mal eine ganz andere Karte - auch wenn sie immer noch ein wenig winterlich wirkt. 

 

Hello everyone!

Today I have a different card to share with you - even if it still has some wintery vibes.

 

 Ich wollte die kleine Deko benutzen und sie auf einem Regalbrett anordnen. Da das nicht einfach an einer weißen Wand hängen sollte, habe ich quer über ein Stück hellgrauen Cardstock ein Muster mit einem Embossingfolder von Cuttlebug eingeprägt. Um nur den Streifen prägen zu können, habe ich einen der Diffuser von Sizzix benutzt.

Um das Muster noch etwas mehr hervorzuheben, habe ich dann ein weißes Stempelkissen auf die erhabenen Stellen gedrückt. 

 

I wanted to use the little decoration elements and arrange them on a shelf. Since I didn't want to have that on a white "wall" I dry embossed a pattern with an old embossing folder by Cuttlebug across a piece of light grey cardstock. To be able to only emboss that strip across the cardstock I used an Embossing Diffuser  by Sizzix. 

To bring out the pattern even more I pressed a white pigment ink pad onto the raised areas.

 

 Die Deko ist mit zwei Stanzensets von CreativeDepot gemacht: Jutebeuel und Tannengrün sowie Kamindeko Häuser. Die hatte ich, zusammen mit den Winter-Dackel-Stempeln, vor Weihnachten bestellt. Sie kamen aber erst im Januar. Ich wollte sie trotzdem noch verwenden und habe versucht, die Karte nicht weihnachtlich aussehen zu lassen. Wie sagt eine Freundin von mir immer: Häuser gehen immer! Und da hat sie recht.

Ich habe alle Teile aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert. Auf eines der Häuser habe ich ein kleines alt-rosa farbenes Herz geklebt. 

Das Regalbrett darunter ist aus dem Laboratory Stanzenset von Sizzix, auf das eigentlich alte Labor-Glasflaschen "gehören". Aber es macht sich auch als Wandregal für die Deko super. Ich habe es zweimal ausgestanzt, einmal komplett und einmal nur das obere Brett coloriert. Von diesem zweiten Stanzteil habe ich den unteren Teil weggeschnitten und die beiden anderen Teile mit 3D Tape aufeinander geklebt. 

 

The decoration is made using two die sets by CreativeDepot: Jutebeutel und Tannengrün and Kamindeko Häuser. I had ordered these before christmas, together with the dachshund stamp set, but they were delivered beginning of january. I wanted to use them nontheless and tried, to not make this card look christmas-sy. But like a friend of mine always says: you can always do houses. And she's right here.

I die cut all pieces from white cardstock and colored them with Copics. Onto one of the houses I adhered a small rose colored heart.

The shelf under the decorations is from the Laboratory die set by Sizzix and originally made to hold a bunch of old apothecary bottles.. I think it also works great with the decorations. I cut it twice, colored one shelf completly and from the second one just the upper part. I cut the bottom off of this second shelf and adhered it to the full shelf using foam tape.

 

 Ich war mir nicht ganz sicher, ob ich eine "welcome home" Karte oder eine Willkommenskarte für neue Nachbarn machen sollte. Letztendlich habe ich mich, hauptsächlich aus designtechnischen Gründen, für die zweite Variante entschieden. 

Das "welcome" ist mit einer Stanze aus dem Set Welcome Home von Altenew gemacht. Die Schnörkel am Anfang und Ende habe ich weggeschnitten, so hat es einfach besser auf die Karte gepasst. Ich habe hier vier rosafarbene Die Cuts aufeinander geklebt.

Das "to our Neighborhood" darunter ist mit verschiedenen Stempeln aus dem Set Anything but Basic Friendship von MFT zusammengesetzt und grau auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. 

Als Deko habe ich dann noch zwei weitere Herzen neben dem Text angebracht.

 

I wasn't sure if I wanted to make a "welcome home" card or a welcome card for a new neighbor. Finally I decided to do the card for the neighbor, mostly for design reasons.

The "welcome" is made using a die from Welcome Home by Altenew. I cut off the flourishes on both ends, this way the word fit better on the card. I stacked four pink die cuts here.

The "to our neighborhood" underneath I put together using different stamps from Anything but Basic Friendship by MFT, stamping it grey onto white cardstock.

As decoration I added two more hearts next to the text.

 

 Die Bäume sind direkt, die Häuser und der gestempelte Text mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Die Schleife des L von welcome habe ich auf das Regal geklebt und hinter den breiten Stellen des Rest des Wortes winzige Stücke dicken 3D Tapes angebracht.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

 

The trees I glued directly to the background, the stamped text and houses are backed with thin foam tape. I put some glue onto the top of the L from welcome and put tiny pieces of thick foam tape behind the larger areas of the rest of the word.

Then I glued the card panel to a white note card.

 

Ein Koffer zum Abschied

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Für einen Kollegen, der Ende letzten Monats in Pension gegangen ist, brauchte ich einen kleinen Koffer als Abschiedsgeschenk. Das ganze war ziemlich spontan vor unserem Urlaub, so dass die Zeit ein wenig gedrängt hat. Aber letztendlich bin ich mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden.

A co-worker retired end of last month and I needed a little suitcase as a farewell present. Well, the idea came up pretty close to our trip and time was short. But I am happy with how it turned out.

 

 Ich habe den Koffer mit der Reisekoffer-Stanze von Kulricke gemacht, ihn dabei aber so abgewandelt, dass der Deckel über den unteren Teil schlüpft. Eigentlich ist er so konzipiert, dass er wie eine Box mit kleinen Laschen in den unteren Teil rutscht. Ich habe den Koffer aus grauem Schimmer-Cardstock gestanzt, die Ecken, der Gurt und der Griff sind aus schwarzem Cardstock gemacht.

Auf den Koffer habe ich dann erst einige Worte, die zur Pensionierung passen, angebracht. Männer lieben es ja kurz und knapp. Die habe ich am PC geschrieben und ausgedruckt.

 

 I made this suitcase using the Reisekoffer die by Kulricke, changing it so the lid goes over the bottom of the suitcase. Originally it is made like a box and the lid has small tabs, that go inside the bottom. I cut the suitcase from grey shimmer cardstock, the corners, the band and the handle are made from black cardstock.

 

  Oben am Griff habe ich einen Namenstag mit dem Namen des Kollegen angebracht, das ich mit einem kurzen Stück silberner Kette befestigt habe. 

Und weil der Koffer so noch zu nackig aussah, habe ich mit hellgrauer Tinte einige Poststempel aus dem Postage Collage Stempelset von WaffleFlower aufgestempelt. Ich weiß, der Koffer ist kein Brief, aber mit dem Flugzeug darauf und dem "first class" fand ich, sie passen auch hier. Außerdem habe ich die Kante des Stempelkissens überall verteilt auf den Koffer gedrückt, damit er nicht mehr so brandneu wirkt.

 

With a small piece of a silver chainI attached a little name tag with the co-worker's name to the handle. 

I then glued some words onto the suitcase, that relate with retirement. Men always prefer less words. I wrote that on my laptop and printed them out.

And because the suitcase looked too plain I stamped some of the postage stamps from Postage Collage by WaffleFlower onto it. I know, that suitcase is no letter, but with the plane and the "first class" I thought, they work great here, too. I also pressed the edge of the ink pad all over the suitcase to make it look more worn.

 Das Innere des Koffers habe ich mit blauem Cardstock ausgekleidet. Auf den habe ich mit einem alten SU-Hintergrundstempel und dunkelblauer Tinte ein Canvas-Muster aufgestempelt.

I covered the inside with blue cardstock. Onto that I stamped a canvas pattern using an old background stamp by SU and dark blue ink.

 

 Im Deckel war dann noch Platz für einen Abschiedsgruß und die Unterschriften.

Ich habe das "zum Abschied" mit Stempeln von Kulricke blau auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt und mit einer Kreisstanze ausgestanzt.

Auch das Banner darunter ist von Kulricke. Ich habe es aus dem selben Cardstock gestanzt, aus dem ich auch den Koffer gemacht habe, und sie dabei so modifiziert, dass sich an beiden Enden die kleinen "fishtails" befinden. Dann habe ich das Banner schwarz hinterlegt, damit der ausgestanzte Text gut lesbar ist.

Wieder mit Stempeln aus einem alten Set von SU habe ich noch das "wir wünschen Dir alles Gute" aufgestempelt. 

Ich habe alles auf einem Strahlenkreis aus silbernem Mirror-Cardstock angebracht und dabei das Banner mit dickem, den Text darunter mit dünnem 3D Tape befestigt. 

Zum Schluss habe ich noch zwei silberne Sternchen auf den Kreis geklebt. 

 

In the lid there was room for a greeting and for us to sign.

I stamped a "farewell" with blue ink onto white cardstock and cut it out with a circle die.

The banner under it has a "take care" cut from it. I cut that from the same grey cardstock I had also used for the suitcase, then backed it with black cardstock so the text is legible. 

Again using stamps from an old set by SU I also stamped a "we wish you all the best" onto white cardstock.

I glued everything onto a half circle of rays that I cut from silver mirror cardstock, putting thick foam tape behind the banner and thin foam tape behind the stamped text.

Then I added two small  silver star confetti as decoration onto the circle.

 

  Im unteren Teil der Box befindet sich dann Geld für eine bevorstehende Reise. Und weil es so schön in den Koffer passt, habe ich die Scheine zu Hemden gefaltet. Ich habe die Hemden in den Koffer gelegt. Damit sie auch schön in Reih und Glied liegen bleiben, habe ich sie auf der Rückseite mit wieder ablösbarem Scotch-Tape verbunden und dann mit 2 Glue Dots im Koffer befestigt. Auch die lassen sich rückstandslos abnehmen, ohne die Geldscheine zu beschädigen.

 

 Inside the box I put some money for the upcoming trip. And because it works great with the suitcase I folded them like shirts. I stacked the shirts in the box and put a piece of removable Scotch Tape on the back to connect them. Then I used two Glue Dots to keep them in place and avoid those neatly stacked shirts moving around in the suitcase. The Glue Dots and the tape can both be removed without damaging the bills.

 

Winterkarte mit High-Speed-Spinner

Heute habe ich eine Winterkarte für Euch, die erstmal eher unscheinbar daherkommt. Aber wartet nur ab!

 

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing a winter card that looks quite simple at first. But wait for it!

 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück graues Designpapier verwendet, das über und über mit Schneeflocken bedruckt ist. Daraus habe ich einen der Scallop Stitched Rectangles von TheGreetery ausgestanzt.. 

 

For the background I used some grey patterned paper, that is filled with lots of snowflakes. From that I die cut one of the Scallop Stitched Rectangles  by TheGreetery.  

 

 Die Mütze ist mit dem Build-a-Hat Set von PapertreyInk gemacht. Also denke ich. Ich habe die Stanze vor kurzem in einem Flohmarkt gekauft und mich wirklich gefreut, weil die Firma in Deutschland nicht zu bekommen ist und ich wenn dann in den USA bei Simon bestelle, aber wenn man das umgehen kann.... Die Stanze sieht gut aus, stanzt super aber ehrlich gesagt, wenn ich mir das jetzt so ansehe, kommt sie mir doch recht klein vor. Falls irgend jemand einen Anhaltspunkt hat, dann bin ich über Hinweise natürlich dankbar. Auf dieser Karte kam sie dann auf jeden Fall mal zum Einsatz.

Ich habe die Mütze selbst aus dunkel-, die Details aus hellblauem und den Bommel aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. In die dunkelblaue Mütze habe ich dann mit einer Stanze aus dem Set, die Muster in den Cardstock schneidet, die Linien eingestanzt. Dazwischen befinden sich gezackte Linien - eine habe ich jeweils mit den ausgestanzten hellblauen Zick-Zack-Linien überklebt, die andere habe ich per Partial Diecutting "ausgelassen". 

Ich habe alle Teile mit Copics schattiert, die Mütze zusammengeklebt und den Umschlag mit einem weißen Stern verziert. 

Hinter die Mütze habe ich zwei weiße Schneeflocken, die auch im Mützenset enthalten sind,  aufgeklebt.

 

 The hat is made using the Build-a-Hat set by PapertreyInk. Well, that's what I think it is. I bought the die in a destash group recently and was really happy because this brand isn't available in Germany and I usually buy them from Simon in the States. But everyone is happy when he can save some bucks on shipping and customs. The die looks good, it cut great but honestly, it seems quite small to me. If anyone can tell me if this is original, I'd really appreciate it. And I decided to use it on a card.

 I die cut hat from dark, the details from light blue and the pompom from white cardstock. Into the dark blue hat I cut some pattern, using another die from the set. There are rick rack lines between the other patterns - I covered one kind of them with the die cut rick racks, the other kind I left out by doing some partial diecuting. 

I used Copics to shade all the pieces, put the hat together and decorated it with a  white star.

Behind the hat I glued two snowflakes, made with other dies from the same set.

 

 Für den Text habe ich ein "brrr" aus schmalen, hohen Buchstaben geschrieben, die ich mit einem Stanzenset von Scrapbook(dot)com gemacht habe. 

Der Rest des Textes ist mit Stempeln aus dem Winter Alpaca Set von LawnFawn gemacht und weiß auf dunkelblauen Cardstock embosst.

 

For the text I wrote a "brrr"  with thin, tall letters, made using a die set by Scrapbook(dot)com.

The rest of the text is made using stamps from Winter Alpaca by LawnFawn, white heat embossed onto dark blue cardstock.

 

 Zum Schluss habe ich den dekorierten Cardstock auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

Diese kleinen Spinner tauchen momentan in immer mehr Stempelshops auf und kommen eigentlich aus dem Nageldesign. Dadurch sind sie aber auch wunderbar klein und flach - perfekt für uns Kartenbastler. Und sie drehen sich wirklich schnell und lang. Da macht interaktiv gleich nochmal so viel Spaß!

 

Those little spinners are showing up in more and more stamp shops and originally come from nail design. That's why  they  are wonderfully small and flat - perfect for us card makers. And they turn so easily and long. That makes interactive  even more fun!

 

Eine Karte mit Watercolors

Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Ich coloriere eher selten mit Watercolors, aber hin und wieder steht mir genau danach der Sinn. Als ich auf der Suche nach einer Hintergrundidee für eine andere Karte über den Winter Floral Mix Background von SimonSaysStamp gestolpert bin, war die Idee zur nächsten, eher einfachen Karte geboren. 

 

Hello everyone!

I don't color with watercolors very often, but every now and then I just feel like it. When I was looking for a background idea for a card I showed you some time ago and stumbled across the Winter Floral Mix Background by SimonSaysStamp the idea for this, a bit on the simpler side, card was born.

 

Ich habe besagten Winter Floral Mix Background weiß auf ein Stück Watercolor Cardstock embosst und ihn dann mit Distress Ink Refills coloriert. Wobei coloriert hier fast ein wenig übertrieben ist. Ich habe erst eine Lage Salvaged Patina auf dem gesamten Cardstock verteilt. Die Blumen habe ich dann it Peacock Feathers und Uncharted Mariner abgedunkelt, für die Zweige kam Evergreen Bough und Pine Needles, für die Beeren Rustic Wilderness dazu. Und ich habe hier nicht sehr genau auf die Outlines geachtet. Die halten die Farbe ein wenig in Schach, wenn sich aber die Farben irgendwo ein wenig gemischt haben, war das nicht schlimm. Um die Zweige und Beeren habe ich das sogar bewusst gemacht. 

Insgesamt ist der Hintergrund kräftiger ausgefallen, als ich geplant hatte, aber schließlich ist er auch der Hauptakteur auf der Karte. 

Auf den getrockneten Hintergrund habe ich dann weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt. 

Außerdem habe ich mit dem Poinsettia Stencil von  WaffleFlower mit klarer, matter Paste einige Blütenblätter entlang der Ränder aufgetragen. Den Stencil habe ich dabei immer partiell so aufgelegt, wie es mir am besten gefallen hat. In die feuchte Paste habe ich dann Distress Clear Rock Candy eingestreut. 

 

I white heat embossed said Winter Floral Mix Background onto a piece of watercolor cardstock and then colored it with Distress Ink Refills. Well, coloring might be a bit of an exaggeration. I first covered  everything with a layer of Salvaged Patina. Then I added Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner to the flowers, Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles to the branches and Rustic Wilderness to the Berries. I didn't care too much about the outlines. They kind of hold the color inside an image but in case some of it escaped and mixed with another color I didn't care too much. I actually did that on purpose around the branches and berries.

The card turned out darker than I had planned, but I am fine with that - after all it's the main element on this card. 

I splattered white acrylic paint onto the dried background.

I also used the Poinsettia Stencil by WaffleFlower to add some petals with clear pase along the edges of the cardstock. I simply used parts of the stencil, laying it down however I liked it. Into the wet paste I sprinkled some Distress Clear Rock Candy.

 

 Mittig auf die Karte habe ich meinen Text geklebt. Ein Teil bildet ein großes gestanztes Hello. Ich habe hier oben eine Lage aus weißem Perlmutt-Cardstock, darunter zwei Lagen weißen Cardstocks aufeinander geklebt. Darunter befindet sich die Shadow Layer, die ich aus Vellum gestanzt habe, und wiederum darunter zwei weitere Lagen aus weißem Cardstock. So liegt das Vellum nicht direkt auf dem Hintergrund auf.

Der Text darunter ist aus dem Set Baah, Humbug von LawnFawn und schwarz auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. 

Rund um den Text habe ich einige Schneeflocken/Sterne aus Permutt-Cardstock sowie einige klare Glitzersteine aufgeklebt.

 

Onto the center of the card I adhered the text. Part of  it is a large die cut hello. I die cut it once  from white shimmer cardstock for the top layer  and put two layers of white cardstock behind it. Then I added the shadow layer, that I cut from vellum, and put two more white cardstock die cut behind it. This way the vellum isn't laying directly on the background. 

The text underneath is from Baah, Humbug by LawnFawn and stamped black onto white cardstock.

Around the text I glued down some snowflakes/stars, cut from white shimmer cardstock, and some clear rhinestones.

 

 Wieder mal sieht man hier den Schimmer und Glitzer viel besser...

Zum Schluss habe ich dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

At the end I attached the card panel to a white note card.
