Heute zeige ich Euch meine Karte für die LawnFawnatics Challenge #193 - "inspired by a book, movie or song".
Ich wollte eine Karte für jemanden machen, der nach längerer Zeit "in der Ferne" wieder dorthin zurück zieht, wo er aufgewachsen ist. Aber mir fehlte die zündende Idee. Ich hatte wohl das Thema der Challenge noch im Hinterkopf, denn als ich "nach Hause, nach Hause, nach Hause" vor mich hingemurmelt habe, um evtl. eine Idee für mein Kartendesign zu bekommen, fiel mir auf einmal E.T. ein. Tja, und da war die Idee geboren.

Today I am sharing with you the card I made for the LawnFawnatics challenge #193 - "inspired by a book, movie or song".
I wanted to make a card for someone who's moving back to where he grew up after several years away. But I just didn't have an idea for a card design. Seems like I had the challenge theme still in mind, because when I muttered to myself "back home, back home, back home", hoping to find an idea that way, I suddenly had E.T. in mind. Well, and there was the idea I was looking for.
Der Hintergrund besteht hier aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks, den ich von der Mitte her mit Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch sowie Distress Oxide Chipped Sapphire und Black Soot gewischt habe. Anschließend habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.
The background is made from a piece of white carstock, that I inked with Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch and Distress Oxide Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot, keeping the center the lightest. Then I splattered some white acrylic paint on top.
Auf den Himmel habe ich dann einen großen Mond geklebt. Den habe ich mit der Full Moon Stanze aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Tumbled Glass und Salvaged Patina leicht gewischt. Dann habe ich einige der eingeprägten Mondkrater mit hellgrauen Copics nachgemalt.
Und natürlich fliegt vor dem Mond der Junge - wie hieß der nochmal? - auf seinem Fahrrad vorbei, den kleinen E.T. im Fahrradkorb.
Das Fahrrad und der Junge sind aus dem Set Bicycle Built for You. Und für den Umhang habe ich den Schleier aus dem gleichen Set benutzt, die Blumen habe ich abgeschnitten und den Schleier dann passend angeklebt.
Um E.T. zu kreieren, musste ich ein wenig kreativ werden. Ich habe nur die Outlines des kleinen Monsters aus Monster Mash in den Korb gestempelt und dann beim Colorieren eine Öffnung, durch die man ein wenig des Gesichts von E.T. sieht sowie Falten eingemalt, damit E.T. aussieht wie mit einer Decke abgedeckt. ich finde, das ist mir gar nicht mal so schlecht gelungen...
Ich habe alle Motive mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten. Auf die Metallteile des Fahrrads habe ich mit einem Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen etwas Glitter aufgetragen.
I adhered a large moon onto the sky. I die cut that from white cardstock and lightly inked it with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and Salvaged Patina. Then I used some light grey Copic markers to color some of the craters, that get embossed into the moon.
And of course the little boy - does anyone remember his name? - on his bike and little E.T. in the basket are flying in front of the moon.
The bike and the boy are from Bidycle Built for You. And for his cape I simply used the veil from the same set. I cut the flowers off and glued the "cape" to the boy's back.
To create E.T. I had to get a bit more creative. I stamped just the outlines of the little monster from Monster Mash into the basket and then added some details when coloring it in. There's an opening, that you can see some of E.T.'s face through. I also added some folds to the monster to make it look like something that's covered with a blanket. And and think, I didn't do too bad of a job here...
I colored all images with Copics and cut them out by hand. Onto the silver pieces of the bike I put some shimmer using a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen.
An den unteren Rand der Karte habe ich die Stadt gesetzt, in der der Junge mit seiner Familie wohnt. Ich habe dafür die Village Border aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und die Fenster mit dunkelblauem Cardstock hinterlegt. Außerdem habe ich eine Grasbordüre obenauf geklebt. Mit weißer Pigmentfarbe sowie Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina habe ich dann die oberen Teile der Häuser, des Baums und der Grasbordüre betupft, so dass es so aussieht, als würden sie vom Mond angeschienen.
Along the bottom of the card I added the town, in which the boy and his family live. I die cut the Village Border from black cardstock and put some dark blue cardstock behind the windows. I also die cut a grass border from black cardstock. Then I dabbed some white pigment ink and Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina along the top edge of the houses, the tree and the grass, to make it look like the moon is shining onto them.
Über den Text meiner Karte habe ich wieder etwas gegrübelt, mich dann aber für ein "there's no place like home" und ein "bon voyage" entschieden. Das passt sowohl zum Film E.T. als auch zum Zweck, für den ich die Karte gemacht habe.
Beide Texte sind mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Das "there's no place like home" ist aus dem Set Winter Birds Add-On, das Bon Voyage aus dem Set Fly High.
Again I had to really think hard about what text would fit, then went with "there's no place like home" and "bon voyage", since they go with both the film E.T. and the occasion I made the card for.
I white heat embossed both texts onto strips of black cardstock. The "there's no place like home" is from Winter Birds Add-On, the Bon Voyage from Fly High.
Als Deko habe ich einige kleine silberne Stern-Pailetten an den Himmel geklebt und dann alles auf einem weißen Kartenrohling befestigt.
I glued the moon directly onto the background. The houses, the grass and the texts are each backed with thin, the boy on his bike with thick foam tape.
I added some small silver star confetti to the sky, then attached my card panel to a white note card.
