Es gibt Tage, an denen vom Moment des Aufstehens an alles schief geht. Nun, sollte man an so einem Tag basteln? Vielleicht. Sollte man an so einem Tag eine Technik ausprobieren, die so überhaupt nicht dem entspricht, was man sonst so tut? Wahrscheinlich nicht. Und sollte man dann gleich zwei Karten machen, statt es erstmal mit nur einer zu probieren? Sicher nicht. Nun, ich habe es trotzdem getan, und dementsprechend unzufrieden bin ich mit den Ergebnissen.
Das Video der Technique Throwdown Thursday Challenge im März lag komplett außerhalb meiner Komfortzone. Und es ist 9 Jahre alt, die Bastelwelt hat sich in der Zeit so verändert. Aber ich habe es trotzdem probiert und zeige Euch heute mein(e) Ergebnis(se).

There are days that go wrong from the moment you step out of bed. Well, should you craft that day? Maybe. Should you choose that day to try a new technique, that's so different from what you make usually? Maybe not. And should you make two cards with this technique instead of trying it with one first? For sure not. Well, I did it anyways, and I guess that's why I am not really happy with the outcome of those cards.
The video highlighted in this month's Technique Throwback Thursday challenge is completly out of my comfort zone. And it's 9 years old, the craft world has changed so much during those years. I still tried it and am sharing my result(s) with you today.
In dem Video geht es um einen gestempelten und etwas unruhigen Hintergrund, bei dem der mittige Bereich mit weißer Stempelfarbe abgetönt wird und so ein darauf befindlicher Text gut lesbar ist. Jennifer McGuire hatte eine Karte mit einem weißen bestempelten Hintergrund und eine weitere mit farbigem Cardstock als Basis. Nun, da fing es schon an - ich konnte mich nicht entscheiden. Also habe ich eine Karte mit weißem und eine mit craft farbenem Cardstock gemacht. Auf der ist das Design natürlich viel dezenter....
The video is about stamping a background and then toning down the center with white pigment ink to make the background a bit less busy there and a text put onto it pretty good legible.
Jennifer McGuire had made a card with white cardstock for the background and one with colored cardstock. Well, that's where it started - I couldn't decide on a background color. So I made a white and a kraft colored one. Of course the design is a lot more subtle on the kraft background.
Die Designs beider meiner Karten sind recht ähnlich - fangen wir mit der craft farbenen an, denn die gefältl mir ein wenig besser.
Ich habe - auf beide Cardstockstücke und mit den selben Farben - Strahlen aufgestempelt und dabei jeden Strahl in einer anderen Farbe gestempelt, so dass sie zum Schluss einen Regenbogenverlauf haben. Ich habe dazu einige meiner inzwischen recht alten SU Kissen hervorgeholt, da habe ich einfach die größte Auswahl. Die Strahlen sind mit dem Pop Out Sunburst Stempel von PinkFresh gemacht. Hier kann man jeden Strahl einzeln entnehmen, was das bunte Stempeln natürlich sehr erleichtert hat. Den Kreis in der Mitte der Strahlen habe ich in ganz hellem Gelb gestempelt.
Dann habe ich von der Mitte her nach außen auslaufend weiße Stempelfarbe aufgetupft. Und um dem Hintergrund etwas interessanter zu machen, habe ich mit derselben weißen Stempelfarbe noch den Best Friend Background von MFT aufgestempelt.
The designs of both of my cards are pretty similar - let's start with the kraft one because that's the one I like a bit better.
Onto both cardstock pieces and using the same colors I stamped rays, making each ray a different color so at the end they have a rainbow gradient. I brought out my quite old SU ink pads for that, just because I have the most colors here. I stamped the rays with the Pop Out Sunburst stamp by PinkFresh. Each of the rays can be taken out and that makes stamping them in different colors a lot easiert. The circle in the center I stamped with a very light yellow.
Then I dabbed white pigment ink onto the center, letting it fade out into the colors. And to make the background a bit more interesting I used the same white ink to stamp the Best Friends Background by MFT onto it.
In die Mitte meiner Karte habe ich dann den Text gesetzt. Bei der craft farbenen Variante habe ich mich für einen weißen Text entschieden. Das You besteht aus vier Lagen und ist mit der You Stanze von MFT gemacht. Der Text darunter ist aus dem Set Builder Bears, ebenfalls von MFT.
Und weil mir dann doch noch etwas fehlte, habe ich kurzerhand noch den kleinen Hund aus dem Set Little Dog Agenda von MamaElephant coloriert, ausgeschnitten und aufgeklebt.
I placed the text in the center of my card. On this kraft version I went with a white text. The you is made from four layers, using the You die by MFT. The text underneath is from Builder Bears, also by MFT.
And since the card looked too plain to me I at least colored in this little dog from Little Dog Agenda by MamaElephant, cut it out and glued it on.
Als Deko habe ich auf jeden Strahl eine kleine farblich passende Perle gesetzt und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
The dog and the white text strips I backed with thin foam tape.
I glued a small pearl in a matching color onto each of the rays, then attached the card panel to a white note card.
Und hier ist die Version mit dem weißen Cardstock als Hintergrund-Basis. Ihr seht es bestimmt schon - auf dieser Karte sind die Strahlen wohl zu langsam getrocknet und haben beim Auftragen der weißen Tinte geschmiert, zumindest bei den dunklen Farben...
Auch hier habe ich den Best Friend Background aufgestempelt.
And here's the version with the white cardstock for my base. You can see it - on this card the ink on the rays seems to not have been completly dry (I guess it just took longer on this cardstock to dry) and when I applied the white ink the ink smeared, at least with the darker colors....
Again I stamped the Best Friend Background on top.
Hier habe ich mich für das Wort friend in Kombination mit dem selben gestempelten Text entschieden und alles aus schwarzem Cardstock gemacht.
Das Wort friend ist mit der Friend Stanze von MFT gemacht und wieder gelayert. Den kleinen Text habe ich mit weißem Embossingpulver embosst.
Und diesmal habe ich als Motiv einen kleinen Fuchs mit Pinsel und Farbeimer aus dem Little Fox Agenda Set verwendet. Damit der nicht mit den Strahlen konkurriert, habe ich ihn in Grautönen coloriert - noch so ein Fehler... Aber da war es mir schon fast egal, ich wollte die Karten nur zu Ende bringen.
Here I combined the word friend with the same stamped text and used black cardstock.
The word friend I die cut with the Friend die by MFT and again layered it. The small text I white heat embossed.
This time I've chosen a little fox with a paint brush and paint tin from Little Fox Agenda. To make sure he's not competing with the colorful rays I colored him in greys. Another mistake.... But at that point I didn't really care anymore and just wanted to finish the card.
Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einem schwarzen Kartenrohling befestigt.
Again I used thin foam tape behind the image and text strip and added small pearls in a rainbow of colors.
Then I attached the card panel to a black note card.
