Das Thema der SSSIG Challenge im März ist Shaker Cards und heute zeige ich Euch meinen Beitrag dafür.

The theme oft the SSSIG challenge for march is Shaker Cards and today I am sharing with you the card I made.
Ich muss hier ein wenig ausholen. Als ich das Thema sah, dachte ich "das passt ja perfekt", denn ich hatte auf meinem Schreibtisch noch die Build a Drink Blender Add-On Stanzen aus dem letzten Release von LawnFawn liegen. Und die sind perfekt für Shaker Cards.
Vor längerem - es ist bestimmt ein Jahr her - hatte ich eine Karte gesehen und weiß leider nicht mehr von wem. Es war eine Karte mit dem Bagger von Pretty Pink Posh, aber mehr weiß ich nicht mehr EDIT: besagte Karte war von Inky and Scrappy!. Auf jeden Fall hatte die Bastlerin damals einen Vibration Button unter die Baggerschaufel gepackt und beim Schließen eines versteckten Stromkreises wackelte die. Natürlich fand ich die Idee klasse und ja, ich habe mir sofort einige der Buttons bestellt. Hüstel, warum 10 Stück kaufen wenn man für nur ein paar Euro mehr gleich 50 bekommen kann? Und ja, Ihr ahnt es bereits, diese 50 Buttons lagen nun seit mindestens einem Jahr in der Schublade.... Aber für den Blender fielen sie mir wieder ein - auch, weil die Vibrationen einen tollen Sound abgeben und es sich so wie ein richtige Blender anhört. Also bin ich bei dieser Karte mehr als nur dezent eskaliert und habe quasi eine Shaker Card für Faule gemacht, die man zwar selber shaken kann, aber nicht muss. So sieht das ganze dann in Action aus:
When I saw the theme I thought "that's perfect" because I still had the Build a Drink Blender Add-On from the latest LawnFawn release on my table, unused, and that's perfect for a shaker card.
Some time ago, I think it was at least a year, I had seen a card and don't remember who made it. EDIT: said card was by Inky and Scrappy! It was a card with the excavator by Pretty Pink Posh, but that's all I remember. On that card, the creator had put a vibration button under the excavator's shovel and when pressing a button the shovel wiggled. Of course I loved that idea and yes, I went right away and ordered some of these buttons. Well, why buy just a few when you can get 50 of them for just a few bucks more.... And you already guessed it, those buttons have been laying in a drawer ever since they arrived... But they just came to my mind when I thought about the blender, also because those vibrations create a noise, that make the blender appear even more realistic. So I went totally overboard on this card and made a shaker card for lazy people - you can shake it yourself but you don't have to. And this is what it looks in action:
Die Karte ist recht dick ausgefallen, einfach weil die Technik etwas mehr Platz braucht und ich außerdem den shakenden oberen Teil des Mixers unter dem Hintergrund versteckt habe.
The card turned out pretty thick, just because the technique needs a bit more space. And I also put the shaking upper part of the blender under the background.
Mein Hintergrund sollte ein wenig wie die Fliesen und Arbeitsplatte in einer Küche aussehen.
Ich haben den Quatrefoil Background von HoneyBeeStamps aus Masking Tape ausgestanzt und auf ein Stück weißen Cardstock geklebt. Dann habe ich erst mit Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade darüber gewischt und anschließend jeweils von außen der kleinen "Fliesen" etwas Mustard Seed aufgetragen. Dann habe ich die Stanze aufgelegt und die inneren Kanten der einzelnen Elemente mit einem weißen Gelstift nachgemalt. Dabei war es mir egal, ob die Linien perfekt sind, die Linien machen die Fliesen einfach etwas interessanter. Anschließend habe ich noch ein wenig mit Wasser verdünntes Vintage Photo aufgespritzt.
Die Arbeitsplatte besteht aus einem Stück des dunkelbraunen Woodgrain Cardstocks von LawnFawn.
I wanted my background to look like the backsplash and counter tops in a kitchen.
I die cut the Quatrefoil Background by HoneyBeeStamps from masking tape and stuck it to a piece of white cardstock. Then I inked over it with Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade. With a fine brush I applied some Mustard Seed just to the outside of each "tile".
I put the die on top of the cardstock and traced the inner edge of each tile with a white gel pen. I didn't care if those lines were perfect, the lines just make the tiles a bit more interesting. Then I added some fine splatters with a bit of watered down Vintage Photo.
The counter top is made from a piece of the dark brown Woodgrain Cardstock by LawnFawn.
Meinen Blender habe ich fünfmal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt - einen davon habe ich mit Copics coloriert, die anderen für den Shaker benutzt. In den Hintergrund habe ich dann ein Fenster geschnitten, das in Form und Größe dem Inneren des Mixbechers entspricht. Ich habe den Shaker passend zu den Früchten auf meiner Karte mit blauen, hell- und dunkelroten, gelben und cremefarbenen kleinen Kügelchen gefüllt. Ich war mir nicht sicher, wie stark der Motor des Vibration Buttons ist und habe daher lieber mal keine Pailetten benutzt, wobei ich im Nachhinein sicher bin, dass er die auch gepackt hätte. Aber die Kügelchen rollen natürlich super einfach.
Auf einem weißem Kartenrohling habe ich die Technik für meine Karte kreiert und das Shaker Element dort mit eingebaut. Vorsichtshalber habe ich für den wackelnden Shaker das Unterteil des Blenders abgeschnitten. Den Hintergrund habe ich mit vier Lagen 3D Tape aufgeklebt und dann den colorierten Blender obenauf geklebt.
I die cut the blender five times from white cardstock - I colored one of them and used the others for my shaker. I cut a window from the background, making it the size and shape of the inside of the blender cup. The shaker I filled with blue, light and dark red, yellow and cream colored little beads, making them match the fruits I put onto the card. I wasn't sure how much power that button has and so I didn't use sequins, just in case. In hindsight I am pretty sure, the button would have moved those easily as well. But those beads roll around wonderfully in that cup.
Onto a white card base I created the electric for my card and included the shaker element. Just in case I cut off the bottom of the blender of it. Then I glued down the background with four layers of foam tape and glued the colored blender on top.
Ich habe eine Banane, eine Erdbeere, eine Blaubeere, eine Zitrone und eine Kirsche mit Stanzen aus den diveresen Build a Drink Sets gestaltet. Alle Früchte sind aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert.
Und weil die Karte nach dem Aufkleben der Früchte und des Blenders irgendwie noch zu leer aussah, habe ich kurzerhand noch ein paar Mäuse mit ins Spiel gebracht. Sie sind aus den Sets You Autumn Know, Merry Mice und Bubbles of Joy und alle mit Copics coloriert.
Die Texte auf der Karte sind alle aus dem Treat Cart Add-On Smoothies and Juice Stempelset, auch das "get your vitamin c", das ich eine der Sprechblasen aus All the Speech Bubbles gestempelt habe.
I created a banana, a strawberry, a blueberry, a lemon and a cherry using the different Build a Drink die sets. I cut all fruits from white cardstock and colored them with Copics.
After adhering the fruits and blender my card seemed missing something. So I went ahead and brought out some mice. They are from the sets You Autumn Know, Merry Mice and Bubbles of Joy and are also colored with Copics.
The texts on this card are all from Treat Cart Add-On Smoothies and Juice, also the little "get your vitamin c", that I stamped into one of the speech bubbles from All the Speech Bubbles.
Was man im Video nicht sieht ist, dass beim Drücken des Knopfes am Blender nicht nur der Motor anspringt, sonder auch die Lichter über dem Knopf aufleuchten. Wenn schon, denn schon, oder? Ich war ja eh schon mit Elektronik beschäftigt, allerdings brauchten die Lichter einen eigenen Stromkreis und eine eigene Batterie... Aber unter dem Kartenaufleger war ja zum Glück genug Platz. ;)
What you can't really see in the video is, that when pressing the button not only the blender is actually working but also the lights above the button light up. Well, when I am already at it I might as well do it thoroughly, right? I was already doing a circuit for the vibration button, so adding some light shouldn't be much of a problem. Well, turned out that the light needed its own circuit and battery... Luckily there was enough space under that card panel. ;)
Die Karte war so hoch, dass ich rundum hochkant unter den Aufleger einen Streifen weißes Moosgummi geklebt habe, sonst sah die Karte von der Seite gesehen sehr unschön aus. Und auch wenn es eigentlich schon egal gewesen wäre - beim Aufkleben der Motive habe ich dann auf weiters 3D Tape verzichtet, um die Karte nicht noch höher zu machen.
The card was so thick, that I tucked a strip of white fun foam under the edge of the card panel, making it stand upright. The card really would have looked ugly from the side otherwise. And even if it wouldn't have made much of a difference - I didn't add any more foam tape when assembling the scene to make the card not even thicker.
