Ich liebe es ja, Stempel und Stanzen nicht unbedingt so zu verwenden, wie sie im ersten Moment geplant waren. Und so trifft hier das Snowglobe Card Kit von ScrappyTails auf maritim - auch wenn die Podiumsstanzen natürlich nicht wirklich weihnachtlich sind.

I love to use stamps and dies in an other way than they might have been planned originally. And so today the Snowglobe Card Kit by ScrappyTails is going maritime - even if the podium dies are not actually christmassy at all.
Ich hatte überlegt, wie ich besagte Podiumsstanze in den Sommer holen könnte. Die Pelikane wollte ich schon länger einweihen und natürlich sitzen die auf Pollern. Und die können perfekt mit den Podiumsstanzen gebaut werden!
Ursprünglich wollte ich beweisen, dass man sie auch auf einer flachen Karte benutzen kann. Ha, falsch gedacht und den Fehler gerade noch bemerkt - die Hülle des Podiums muss ja ebenfalls bewegliche sind um flach zusammenlegbar zu sein. Also habe ich doch ein komplettes Podium gebaut und zusätzlich einen Streifen Cardstocks an der Seite als zweiten Poller eingebaut.
I had been thinking of a way to bring said podium dies into summer. Those pelicans have been waiting for quite some time to finally be used - and I realized that those were perfect to sit on the podiums.
Originally I wanted to prove that these could also be used on a flat card. Wrong - and I realized my mistake just in time. The outer "skin" of the podium needs to be able to move, too, to fold flat. So I made a complete podium instead and added a strip of cardstock for a second bollard.
Ich habe hier die kleinere Small Moving Podium Base verwendet und die Teile aus hellbraunem Cardstock gestanzt. Auf die Außenhülle habe ich mit Alcoholmarkern und einem weißen Gelstift ein Holzmuster aufgemalt. Das habe ich auch auf ein rechteckiges Stück des selben Cardstocks aufgetragen. Auf beide Teile habe ich dann die Seile aus dem Layering Pelicans Set, gestanzt aus craft farbenem Cardsdtock, aufgeklebt. Und auch ein kleinern Seestern aus dem selben Set durfte jeweils zwischen die Seile klettern.
An der Podiumsbasis habe ich die Seile übrigens nur jeweils am Ende angeklebt, so bleiben sie flexibler.
Das colorierte Rechteck habe ich beim Zusammenkleben des Podiums an der Naht der Außenstelle mit eingefasst.
I used the smaller Small Moving Podium Base here and die cut the pieces from light brown cardstock. Onto the "skin" I drew a wood pattern using alcohol markers and a white gel pen. I did the same on a rectangular piece of cardstock of the same color.
Onto both pieces I glued the rope from the Layering Pelicans set, die cut from craft colored cardstock. And a little starfish decided to jump between the ropes, too.
On the podium I only attached the ropes at the ends to keep them a bit more flexible.
When glueing the "skin" of the podium together I put in the colored rectangle at where both ends of the skin meet.
Die Pelikane sind, wie schon erwähnt, aus dem Set Layering Pelicans. Ich habe die Teile aus grauem, weißem und orangefarbenem Cardstock ausgestanzt und mit Distress Ink Pumice Stone und Black Soot ein wenig gewischt. Bei den Flügeln habe ich das Layering der Pelikane umgedreht und sie mehrmals ausgestanzt. Dann habe ich jeweils einen unteren Teil weggeschnitten, so dass die obere Lage die höchste ist. Die Hälse habe ich jeweils an den Flügeln gelassen, so dass auch dieser Teil erhöht ist. Die Flügelspitzen habe ich dann ein wenig nach oben gebogen. Als Stabilisierung habe ich hinter die Pelicane jeweils ein zweites Stanzteil angeklebt und beim sitzenden Pelikan die Befestigungslasche, die im Podium steckt, zwischen die beiden Vogelteile gefasst.
Das Moos auf den Pollern, auf dem die Pelikane sitzen bzw. stehen, ist übrigens ein weiteres Fügelteil, das ich aus olivgrünem Cardstock gestanzt habe.
Für den Text habe ich ein Schild mit der Aufschrift hello aufgestellt. Auch das ist wieder an einer Befestigungslasche, diesmal im hinteren Podium, angeklebt. Und weil das Teil doch recht schmal und hoch und mit dem Schild zudem kopflastig ist, habe ich hier zwei Cardstockstreifen aufeinander geklebt und dazwischen einen Streifen festen Acetates gesetzt.
Das Schild ist mit einer der rechteckigen Aufleger-Stanzen aus dem Small Moving Podium Set, mit dem man das Podium dekorieren kann, aus grauem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Ink Black Soot leicht gewischt. Dann habe ich das hello aus dem Set Love Notes Stationary aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und aufgeklebt. Den Rahmen habe ich mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt und Nägel mit einem schwarzen Glaze Pen hinzugefügt. Zum Schluss habe ich auch hier einen Seestern aufgeklebt.
The pelicans are from Layering Pelicans. I die cut the pieces from grey, white and orange cardstock and shaded them lightly with Distress Ink Pumice Stone and Black Soot. On the wings I changed the layering by cutting them out several times, then cutting off one layer of the base. Now the top of the wing is the most raised area. I left the necks on each die cut so this part is raised, too. I bent the tips of the wings just a bit upwards. To make the pelicans more sturdy I backed each with another bird cut from white cardstock. With the sitting pelican I glued the strip, that is used to attach an image through the slit in the podium, between the two birds.
The moss on the bollards is made using two of the wing layering pieces from the set. I cut those from olive green cardstock.
For the text I built a sign with a hello on it. Again it is attached to a cardstock strip, this time putting it through the slit in the back half of the podium. And because this sign is very tall and thin and also top heavy I used two strips of cardstock and put a strip of thick acetate between them.
The sign is made using the rectangle die from the podium set, that is made to die cut covers for the podium. I cut it from grey cardstock and shaded it with Black Soot. Then I cut the word hello from Love Notes Stationary from white cardstock and glued it onto the grey cardstock. I drew a frame with a white gel pen and added some nails with a black Glaze Pen. Then I added another starfish to the sign.
Und so sieht die "Karte" dann flach zusammengelegt aus. Das innere Teil des Podiums klappt nach oben - oder wenn die Deko schmal genug ist wahlweise auch nach unten - und die gerundete Hülle lässt sich flach drücken. So passt die Karte auch problemlos in ein normales Kuvert.
And this is what the card looks like laid flat. The inner part of the podium fold up - or if your decorative elements are small enough als down - and the rounded skin can be laid down flat. This way the card fits nicely into a regular envelope.
