Es ist lange her, dass ich organisiert genug war, eine Karte für eine Challenge in time zu posten. Aber als ich den Sketch der aktuellen Card Challenge von MFT gesehen habe, hatte ich sofort eine Idee im Kopf, die auch sofort umgesetzt werden wollte. Und so geschah es dann auch.

It's been a long time that I did post a card in time for a challenge. But when I saw the sketch of the current card challenge over at MFT I immediately had an idea in mind. To not forget it - or be late again - I sat down at my craft table and created this card.
Der Sketch besteht aus einer Karte, die in 6 Rechtecke unterteilt ist. Und ich musste sofort an einen Comic denken - und so habe ich eine kleine Bildergeschichte zusammengesetzt. Die Quadrate auf meiner Karte sind nur jeweils 4 x 4 cm groß - also nicht gerade groß. Für einen Ast, einen Ballon, eine Wolke und das kleine Küken reichte er aber gerade noch.
Dank eines Stamping Tools war es ganz einfach, erst den Ast jeweils an die selbe Stelle zu stempeln. Dann kamen Ballon und Küken dazu. Zum Schluss habe ich noch den Ballon abgedeckt und die Wolke aufgestempelt.
Coloriert habe ich mit Copics, der Hintergrund ist mit Airbrush gestaltet. So bekommt man ein einheitlicheres Ergebnis. Küken, Wolke und Ast habe ich beim Besprühen jeweils abgedeckt, über den Ballon habe ich ein klein wenig Farbe mit drübergesprüht, so wirkt er transparenter.
Die Quadrate habe ich dann erst auf schwarzen, dann auf türkisfarbenen Cardstock geklebt und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling aufgeklebt.
The sketch is made from a card that is seperated into 6 rectangles. And I just had to think of a comic - and so I made one myself. The squares on my card are only 1 3/4" by 1 3/4" each so they are really small. But still big enough for a branch, a balloon, a cloud and the little chicken.
Thanks to my stamping tool it was easy to first stamp the branch on the same spot of each square. Then I've added the balloon and the chick. In the end I've covered the balloons and added the little cloud.
I've used Copics to color the images in and my airbrush system for the background. It's easier to get an even result with the airbrush system. I've covered the chick, the cloud and the branch while spraying the color on. Over the balloon I've sprayed a thin layer of color which makes it look more transparent.
Then I've glued the squares onto black cardstock, matted it with some turquoise cardstock and glued everything onto a white cardbase.
Auf das letzte Quadrat habe ich einen Gruß aufgebracht - und so aus dem Comic eine Geburtstagskarte gemacht. Dafür habe ich das Hello aus gestreiftem Designpapier und aus weißem Cardstock ausgestanzt. Den weißen Text habe ich, nach oben heller werdend, mit türkisfarbenen Distress Oxide eingefärbt und dann etwas versetzt auf das Wort aus Designpapier aufgeklebt. Da mir der Kontrast nich groß genug war, habe ich mit einem schwarzen Fineliner das Wort mittig aufgeschrieben.
Darunter habe ich noch ein kleines Banner mit den weiß auf-embossten Worten "birthday chick" aufgeklebt. Für den Text musste ich zwei Stempel aus dem Set Birthday Chicks zusammensetzen - alle anderen Texte waren einfach zu groß für mein Quadrat.
Onto the 6th square I've added a birthday greeting - and turned the comic into a birthday card that way. I've die cut the hello from striped designer's paper and white cardstock. Then I've used turquoise Distress Oxide to color the white text in, from dark to light from bottom to top. Then I've glued it onto the word cut from designer's paper, moving it slightly to the right. Since the contrast wasn't enough for my taste I've used a black Sharpie to write hello in the middle of the die cuts.
Under the hello I've added a small banner with the words "birthay chick" heat embossed on with white embossing powder. I had to put together two words from the set Birthday Chicks - all the other sayings were simply too big for my square.
