Ghostly Greetings

 Hallo Ihr Lieben!

Hello everyone!

I've already shared a Halloween project at the beginning of this month, today I have another one for you. It always feels like the time for showing those creations is way too short and so many ideas want to be done. So I'm sharing this card over at the Stampcorner Blog today.

For the background I've done a technique by Jennifer McGuire here that I had on my to do list for a few weeks now. A piece of white cardstock gets heavily covered with Distress Ink, then, with a stencil and half a baby wipe on top, run through a die cutting machine. The stencil leaves an impression in the paper, but that's not all. When you dry the paper the open areas of the stencil become lighter and you end up with a negative of the stencil. And I have to say - it works! I've used Black Soot here and an older cob web stencil by Dutch Doobadoo. Then I've matted that background with orange cardstock and glued it onto a white note card.

To the lower area of the card I've added a saying. I've white heat embossed a text from the Ghostly Greetings stamp set by MFT onto a piece of black cardstock. Originally both words are written the same size but that turned out to be too high for my card. So I've replaced the Ghostly with a smaller one with one from a stamp from the Best Witches stamp set. Then I've matted this piece of cardstock orange as well and glued it onto the background.

Here you get a better look at the babywipe technique - I just love it!

For decorations I've combined two "regular" pumpkins from the Autumn Blessings stamp set with one of the Jack-O-Lanterns from the Ghostly Greetings stamp set, colored them and glued them next to each other. You can hardly see that on the photo but I've glued some small ovals to the bottom of the pumpkins to create their shadows.

Behind the pumpkins one of the cute ghosts is flying by, mists are floating in the air. Those are die cut from Vellum with the Cloud Cover dies by MFT and glued behind the images.

And in the top right corner there's a bat - well, owl - flying by. I've stamped the bat with black ink and then got the idea of adding orange googling eyes to it. And that makes it appear like an owl but I really like that.
