Wir sind eine Gruppe von Kolleginnen, die sich auch privat super verstehen. Jetzt hatte eine von uns Geburtstag, und ich durfte die Karte machen. Auch wenn sie nur ein paar Jahre jünger ist, ist die Empfängerin fast das Küken unter uns, so dass wir ihr das Älterwerden doch etwas unter die Nase reiben mussten...

We're a group of co-workers who also meet often in our time off work. One of us celebrated her birthday now and I made the card from all of us. Well, it's only a few years, but the birthday girl is the second youngest of us so we just had to point out that she's getting old now....
Ich habe hier wieder zu Stempeln von WhimsyStamps gegriffen. Und wenn ich nicht vergessen hätte, die beiden Texte links gleich mit einzuplanen, wäre die Karte eine One Layer Card geworden.
Ich habe hier zuerst den Comic Book Page Hintergrundstempel schwarz auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt. Dann habe ich einiges an Maskier-Arbeit geleistet und alle Bereiche, die nicht blau oder schwarz sind abgedeckt und den kompletten Cardstock mit Distress Ink Salvaged Patina eingefärbt. Ich habe bewusst zu den Inks gegriffen, um die Stempellinien nicht abzuschwächen.
Die schwarzen Punkte auf dem Hintergrund sind mit der Comic Half-Tone Stencil und Distress Ink Black Soot gewischt.
Den Hintergrund habe ich rot gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
Again I used stamps by WhimsyStamps here. And if I would have thought to leave room for the two texts on the left this would have been a One Layer Card.
First I stamped the Comic Book Page background with black ink onto white cardstock. Then I did quite a bit of masking and covered all areas that aren't blue or black and inked up all the white cardstock with Distress Ink Salvaged Patina. I picked the Inks instead of the Oxides here since I didn't want to tone down the black stamped lines.
The black dots on the background are made with the Comic Half-Tone stencil and Distress Ink Black Soot.
I matted the background with red cardstock and glued it onto a white note card.
Als nächstes habe ich alle Masken abgezogen und diesmal die Bereiche außerhalb der "gezackten Sprechblase" abgedeckt. Dann habe ich erst das Gossip Girl gestempelt, es ebenfalls mit einer Maske, die ich bewusst ein wenig größer geschnitten habe damit ein wenig Kontrast zu den Häusern entsteht, abgedeckt und die Skyline quer in die Blase gestempelt. Den Hintergrund mit den Strahlen habe ich mit der Strahlenstencil von Stampcorner und Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade und Wild Honey darüber gewischt.
Anschließend habe ich alle farbigen Bereiche mit Copics coloriert und mich hierbei, neben dem Hautton des Mädels, für rot und gelb entschieden. Das gibt einen tollen Kontrast zu dem blauen Hintergrund. Die meisten Bereiche habe ich hier etwas schattiert, einfach weil ich finde, dass es besser aussieht als eine einfarbige Fläche.
Da mir die Stempellinien irgendwie nicht stark genug waren, habe ich dannn den Hintergrund noch zweimal mit dem Extreme Black Stempelkissen von MFT über den zuvor gestempelten gestempelt. Ich hatte überlegt, ihn zu embossen, mich dann aber dagegen entschieden, da ich Angst hatte, die Karte jetzt noch zu versauen. Wie gut, dass der Stempel noch passend im Misti aufgeklebt war!
Mit einem weißen Gelpen habe ich dann ein paar Highlights hinzugefügt.
Dann fehlten nur noch die individuellen Texte auf den gelben Streifen links. Die habe ich auf weißen Cardstock gestempelt, den Cardstock wieder mit Copics gelb eingefärbt, rot gemattet und auf die Karte geklebt.
Next I took off all the masks and then created another mask to cover everything outside of the "bubble". Then I stamped the Gossip Girl inside it, covered it with another mask and stamped the skyline behind her across the bubble. When making the mask for the girl I've cut it tad bit larger to have some space between her and the black skyline. The rays background is made with a ray stencil by Stampcorner and Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey after stamping the scene.
Then I colored all the now colored areas with Copics and - besides the skin tones - went with red and yellow which makes a great contrast to the blue background. I shaded most areas when coloring them in just because I think it looks better than just a plain area.
Since the stamped lines weren't black enough for my taste I thought about black heat embossing them again but then decided against it. I was afraid I'd ruin the card after putting in so much work. So instead I stamped it twice with the Extreme Black ink pad by MFT over the already stamped background. Luckily I still had the stamp in place in my Misti.
I used a white gel pen to add a few highlights.
And now all that was missing were the individual texts. I stamped those onto white cardstock, colored the strips in with Copics, matted them red and then glued them onto the card.
