Weihnachten ist nicht mehr weit - aber noch näher ist der offizielle Winteranfang. Und deswegen teile ich heute auf dem Stampcorner Blog eine Winterkarte, die ganz dem Thema Schnee gewidmet ist.

Christmas isn't far anymore - but the offical start of winter is even closer. And so I decided to share this winter card over on the Stampcorner Blog today - and it's all about snow.
Und ich habe mal etwas anderes als eine rein rechteckige Karte gemacht - trotzdem passt sie in einen ganz normalen Briefumschlag. Die Inspiration kommt - mal wieder - von Jennifer McGuire.
Für die Kartenbasis habe ich mit der Snowflakes Edge Essentials Stanze von StudioLight die untere Kante eines Kartenrohlings gestanzt. Auch die obere Kante habe ich damit gestanzt, allerdings so, dass der Falz an einigen Stellen erhalten bleibt. Bei dem Stanzenset sind die Outlines und Schneeflocken separate Stanzen. Das macht das Werkeln dieser Kartenart noch einfacher.
Da an der oberen Kante ja die Form entlang der Schneeflocken nicht komplett gestanzt wird, habe ich die von mir erstellte Kartenform nochmal aus dunkel-türkisfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt und daraus auch die Schneeflocken gestanzt. Die habe ich mit heller türkisfarbenem Cardstock hinterlegt. Zuvor habe ich den dunklen Cardstock von den Rändern her mit Distress Ink Prize Ribbon und Chipped Sapphire gewischt, den helleren Cardstock habe ich mit Distress Ink Peacock Feathers ein wenig abgedunkelt, da der Kontrast zwischen den beiden eigentlichen Tönen zu intensiv war.
And I decided to make something different than a regular square card for a change - but it still fits into a regular envelope. Once again Jennifer McGuire is the one that gave the inspiration for this card.
For the card base I've die cut the lower edge of a white note card with the Snowflakes Edge Essentials die by StudioLight. I also die cut the top edge with the fold, but making sure that the fold stays connected in a few areas. Since with this die set the outline die and the snowflakes are individual dies making this card was pretty easy and didn't require and partial die cutting.
Since the ouline isn't complete in some areas along the fold I die cut the shape of the card I created once again from dark turquoise cardstock and also die cut the snowflakes from this cardstock. Then I put some light turquoise cardstock behind the cut out snowflakes. Before I did that I used Distress Ink Prize Ribbon and Chipped Sapphire to darken the edges of the dark turquoise cardstock. And since the contrast to the light turquoise cardstock was too hard I used Distress Ink Peacock Feathers to darken that a bit.
Der süße Schneemann ist aus dem Stempelset Schneemann von Stampcorner - allerdings habe ich ihn ein wenig modifiziert. Er war einfach nicht hoch genug für meine Karte. Deswegen habe ich ihm die untere Kugel samt Füßen eines der anderen Schneemänner aus dem Set einfach unten angebaut. Und ich finde es nicht schlimm, dass die unterste Kugel ein kleines bisschen kleiner als die mittlere ist. Außerdem habe ich dem Schneemann die Nase eines anderen Schneemannes aus dem Set gegeben. Eigentlich ist er auch ohne süß - aber ich habe es nicht übers Herz gebracht, von Küsschen auf die Nasenspitze auf der Karte zu schreiben und dann hat der arme Kerl gar keine.
Coloriert habe ich das Motiv mit Copics und dann per Hand ausgeschnitten. Es ist mit 3D Tape auf die Karte geklebt.
The cute snowman is by Stampcorner - but I changed him slightly. He just wasn't tall enough for my card. So I simply used the ball with feet from another snowman from the set and stamped it as another layer of this snowman. And I actually like, that the bottom ball is slightly smaller than the one above. And I gave this snowman a carrot nose. He's pretty cute without, but since the small text on the card means "every single snowflake is a kiss on the tip of your nose" I just didn't have the heart to add this saying and the poor guy doesn't even have one.
I colored the image with Copics and fussy cut it out, then glued it onto the card with foam tape.
Der Text ist aus einer Mischung aus gestanzten Buchstaben und embosstem Stempel gemacht.
Für das "es schneit" habe ich die einzelnen Buchstaben aus helltürkis farbenem Cardstock ausgestanzt und auf die Karte geklebt. Mit einem weißen Gelpen habe ich ihm kleine Schneehauben verpasst.
Der Text darunter ist aus dem Stempelset Schneemann. Ich habe ihn mit weißem Embossingpulver auf die Karte embosst und dabei die beiden oberen Zeilen des eigentlich dreizeiligen Textes nebeneinander gestempelt. So gefiel mir die Anordnung besser.
Zum Schluss habe ich noch Glitzersteine auf meiner Karte verteilt und sie dabei fast ausschließlich auf die ausgestanzten Schneeflocken geklebt.
The text ist made from a mix of die cut letters and a heat embossed stamped text.
The top row means "it's snowing". I've die cut the letters from light turquoise cardstock and glued them onto the card. I used a white gel pen to add little snowcaps to the letters.
The text under it is said text about snowflakes and kisses. I white heat embossed it onto the card and changed the arrangement of the lines - the text is originally divided into three lines, I stamped the first two next to each other because I liked that better on my card.
In the end I added a few clear rhinestones to the card, putting them down mainly on the cut out snowflakes.
Und weil ich noch die Schneeflocken, die aus dem türkisfarbenen Cardstock ausgestanzt wurden, übrig hatte, habe ich drei davon ins Innere der Karte geklebt und auch dort einen Text aufgestempelt. Der Text "frostige Grüße" ist aus dem Set Eisbär, das "von uns allen" ist aus dem Set Wir Gratulieren.
Und hier kann man auch gut erkennen, wie die Kartenbasis nur an einigen Stellen am Falz zusammenhält. Sie ist aber trotzdem ausreichend stabil.
And since I had those snowflakes that I cut out of the dark turquoise cardstock left over I glued three of them to the inside of my card. It means "frosty greetings from all of us".
And here you can also see how the card base is only connected in a few areas along the fold. But it's still very sturdy.
