Die LawnFawnatics Challenge #134 läuft - und das Thema diesmal lautet "monochrom". Hm, ich wusste, dass ich eine Herbstkarte machen wollte. Und nach einigem hin- und herüberlegen, habe ich mich für eine orangefarbene Karte entschieden. Ich wollte, dass die Elemente immernoch ein klein wenig natürlich aussehen. Und so ist auch ein klein wenig grün und orange-braun mit auf die Karte gehüpft.

#134 of the LawnFawnatics challenge is running - this time the theme is "monochromatic". Well, I knew I wanted to make a fall card. And after some thinking, I've decided to go with an orange card. I still wanted all my elements to look at least a bit natural, so there's also a hint of green and orange-brown on this card.
Nun, wenn ich schon eine Karte mit nur einer Farbe mache, dann könnte ich ja auch gleich eine Karte mit nur einer Lage machen - dachte ich mir. Und so habe ich hier ganz viel maskiert und tatsächlich, von der Mattung mal abgesehen - eine One-Layer-Card gemacht.
Zuerst habe ich die Motive mit schwarzer Tinte aufgestempelt, anschließend habe ich sie mit Copics coloriert. Dann habe ich die Masken wieder aufgeklebt und den Hintergrund mit Distress Oxide Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade und ein wenig Gathered Twigs gewischt und ein paar Spritzer gold-gelber Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt. Dabei habe ich den unteren Bereich der Karte ebenfalls abgedeckt, so dass die Spritzer nur am Himmel sind. Zum Schluss habe ich dann den Text mit brauner Tinte aufgestempelt.
Ich wische den Hintergrund immer gerne nach dem Colorieren - da es doch hin und wieder vorkommt, dass ein wenig Farbe ausblutet, wird das von den Oxides ganz einfach abgedeckt.
Well, if I'm going to make a card with just one color, I can also make it a card with just one layer - that's what I thought. So I did a lot of masking to really get a One-Layer-Card - except for the matting.
First I stamped down all the images with black ink, then colored them with my Copics. I put back all the masks and inked up the background with Distress Oxide Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and a bit of Gathered Twigs, then added a few speckles with a golden-yellow metallic watercolor. I covered the bottom area of my card when I did that, so the speckles ended up only on the sky. As the last step I stamped down the text with brown ink.
On One-Layer-Cards I like to ink the background after I colored the images - since it happens every now and then that some of the color bleeds out a bit the Oxides easily cover that.
Die vordersten drei Lagen meiner Szene sind mit Stempeln aus dem Simply Celebrate Fall Set gemacht. Dabei habe ich die Apfel-Reihe ein wenig verschoben und einen der Äpfel nicht mit abgestempelt, so dass die Kürbisse dahinter gut genug zu sehen sind.
Hinter den Kürbissen stehen zwei Sonnenblumen aus dem Set Happy Harvest, der Apfelbaum ist aus dem Set Apple-Solutely Awesome.
Am Himmel und neben dem Text habe ich kleine Blätter aufgestempelt - die sind aus den Stempelsets Jump for Joy, Let's Go Nuts und You Autumn Know. Und der schon erwähnte Text ist aus dem Set Scripty Autumn Sentiments.
Ich war kurz versucht, noch irgendwo eines der süßen Tiere mit auf die Karte zu stempeln, aber so gefiel sie mir doch besser. Und außerdem hätte, außer vielleicht einem Eichhörnchen, keines so recht ins Farbkonzept gepasst. Und eine gelbe Maus wollte ich Euch ersparen.... ;)
The front three layers of my scene are made using images from the Simply Celebrate Fall stamp set. I moved the row of apples a bit to the left and left out the rightmost apple, so the pumpkins behind them would be visible well enough.
Behind the pumpkins there are two sunflowers from the Happy Harvest set, and the big apple tree from the Apple-Solutely Awesome set.
Onto the sky and next to the text I stamped a few leaves, using images from the sets Jump for Joy, Let's Go Nuts and You Autumn Know. The text I already mentioned is from the Scripty Autumn Sentiments stamp set.
I really was tempted to add one of the many cute critters to my scene, but then I liked it better without. And none of the critters, except maybe a squirrel, would have fit my color scheme. I really didn't want to scare you with a yellow mouse... ;)
