"Fun with Food" ist das Thema der aktuellen LawnFawnatics Challenge. Ich war mir erst nicht sicher, was genau ich machen wollte. Aber dann hat mich das Abendessen inspiriert und es wurde eine Taco-Karte. Auch, weil man da so tolle Wortspiele mit bilden kann, und die liebe ich ja. Die Karte kommt tatsächlich mal ohne die kleinen Mäuse aus, wobei ich gestehen muss, dass ich schon sehr versucht war, ein paar davon zwischen dem Essen zu verstecken....

"Fun with Food" is the theme of the current LawnFawnatics Challenge. It took me a bit until I decided on a theme, but then our dinner inspired me and I made a taco related card. Also, because there are some great play of words possible here. I actually didn't use a single mouse on this card. But I have to admit, that I really played with the idea of tucking a few of them between the food....
Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück hellgrünen Cardstocks zugeschnitten und dann mit einer Strahlen-Stencil und einem Schwämmchen Versamark aufgetupft. Dabei habe ich bewusst ein wenig unsauber gearbeitet, um den Strahlen einen leicht distressten Look zu geben. Auf das Versamark habe ich dann weißes Embossingpulver aufgetragen und geschmolzen.
Die Ränder des Cardstocks habe ich dann ein wenig mit Distress Ink Mowed Lawn gewischt und anschließend goldene Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.
For the background I cut a piece of light green cardstock a bit smaller than my card base and then used a rays stencil and a sponge daubber to apply some Versamark through the stencil. On purpose I didn't apply it perfectly smooth to give those rays a bit of a distressed look. Onto the Versamark I applied white embossing powder and melted it.
I darkened the edges of the cardstock with a bit of Distress Ink Mowed Lawn, then splattered gold metallic watercolor on top.

Da ich ein Element brauchte, von dem die Strahlen ausgehen, habe ich den gemusterten Kreis aus der Embroidery Hoop Window and Frame Add-On Stanzenset aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt. Ich finde, das Muster wirkt ein wenig rustikal und passt super zur Karte. Ich habe es mit einer Kreisstanze ausgestanzt und die Ränder mit Distress Ink Fossilized Amber gewischt. Dann habe ich goldenen Metallic-Cardstock von hinten dagegen geklebt, der nun durch die ausgestanzten Löcher sichtbar ist.
I needed an element that the rays radiate from. So I die cut the patterned circle from the Embroidery Hoop Window and Frame Add-On die set from yellow cardstock. I think, the pattern looks kind of rustic and goes great with this card. I used a circle die to cut the patterned circle out, then inked the edges with a bit of Distress Ink Fossilized Amber. Then I put some gold metallic cardstock behind the circle, that is now visible through the small cut out holes.
Natürlich mussten zwei Tacos auf die Karte. Dazu habe ich dann noch einen Krug Zitronenlimonade, eine Avocado, zwei Limetten, eine Schale Guacamole, eine Schale rote Chilis und eine große Chilischote kombiniert. Die Motive sind aus den Sets Year Nine, Make Lemonade, Forest Feast, Be Hap-Pea und Let's Toasts. Alle sind mit Copics coloriert, dann habe ich sie per Hand ausgeschnitten.
Of course I had to use two tacos on my card. I combined them with a pitcher of lemonade, an avocado, two limes, a bowl of Guacamole, a bowl of small chilies and a large red chili. The images are from the sets Year Nine, Make Lemonade, Forest Feast, Be Hap-Pea and Let's Toast. I colored them all with Copics, then cut them out with my scissors.
Unter den Motiven habe ich die neue Scalloped Arches Border quer über den Cardstock geklebt. Ich habe den Aufleger aus hell- und die Schattenlage aus dunkelgelbem Cardstock gestanzt und dann beides ein wenig mit Copics schattiert.
Der Text "have a specTACOlar day" ist eine Kombi aus Stempeln und gestanzten Buchstaben. Den gestempelten Text habe ich mit Texten aus dem Tiny Halloween Set zusasmmengesetzt und weiß auf roten Cardstock embosst. Nun, wenn mich das "spooktacular" nicht so irritiert hätte, dass ich specTACOlar beinahe mit K geschrieben hätte, dann wäre ich wohl eher drauf gekommen, dass ich für das spec einfach den Wortanfang des Wortes Special hätte nehmen und mir so das Zusammenstempeln mit einzelnen Buchstaben/Wortteilen hätte sparen können... ;)
Die Buchstaben für das Wort TACO habe ich aus rotem Cardstock mit dem Finley's ABCs Set ausgestanzt. Ich habe jeweils vier Buchstaben aufeinander geklebt.
Under the images I adhered the new Scalloped Arches Border across the cardstock. I die cut the top layer from light, the bottom layer from darker yellow carstock and shaded them with Copics.
The text "have a specTACOlar day" is made from a mix of stamps and die cut letters. I put the stamped text together using texts from the Tiny Halloween set and white heat embossed them onto red cardstock. Well, the "spooktacular" in this set irritated me so much that I nearly used a K instead of the C. I realized it last minute, but if I had earlier, I simply could have used the beginning of the word "special" here instead of stamping the word together using different letters/word parts - and make my life a lot easier here.... ;)
The letters for the word TACO I die cut from red cardstock using the Finley's ABCs dies. I die cut each letter four times for some dimension.
Hinter einige der Motive, die Bordüre und die Textteile habe ich dünnes bzw. dickes 3D Tape geklebt. Als Deko habe ich noch einige rote Sternkonfetti auf der Karte verteilt und den dekorierten Cardstock dann auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
I put thin and thick foam tape behind the some of the images, the border and the texts.
As decoration I added a few red star confetti, then attached the card panel to a white note card.
