LawnFawnatics Challenge #207

Das Thema der LawnFawnatics Challenge #207 hat mich tatsächlich erstmal aus der Bahn geworfen, einfach, weil ich nicht damit gerechnet habe. Es lautet "Rainbows". Das ist für mich jetzt eher etwas frühlingshaftes oder sommerliches, was an sich natürlich Quatsch ist. Aber ich hatte eher mit etwas wie "Halloween" oder so gerechnet...

Da ich basteltechnisch immer etwas voraus bin und bereits Posts bis Ende November vorbereitet habe, bin ich voll und ganz im Weihnachtsmodus. Und so kam mir auch ziemlich schnell die Idee zu meinem Beitrag.

The theme of the LawnFawnatics challenge #207 threw me off a bit, just because I didn't expect it. The theme is "rainbows". To me, that's something that reminds me of spring or summer, but of course that's nonsense. I guess I just expected something like "Halloween". 

I am always ahead of time with my cards and have already prepared blog posts til the end of november. So I am deep into christmas with my cards. And that's why the idea for my entry came to me pretty quickly.

 

Ich war absolut auf Weihnachten fixiert und habe überlegt, was es dort buntes bzw. regenbogenfarbiges gibt. Da fielen mir die bunten Lichterketten ein. Ich persönlich mag die ja - zumindest in meiner Deko etc. - nicht wirklich und stehe mehr auf das klassische weiß. Aber viele sind da anderer Meinung. Und die Lichter des String of Lights Backdrops boten sich für das Thema an.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück Designpapier eines älteren Paper Pads von LawnFawn verwendet.  Es ist tatsächlich eines der wenigen Papiere, das ich in 12 x 12 habe, und heißt Ice Blue Bokeh. Die hellen Punkte sehen einfach aus wie Lichtreflektionen und passten natürlich prima zur Lichterkette. Das Designpapier habe ich nur am Rand ein wenig mit Distress Ink Peacock Feathers schattiert. 

 

I was completly in christmas mode and looke for something colorful or rainbow colored for christmas.  And that's where the colorful lights came to my mind. I personally don't like those - at least not in my decorations - and prefer the traditional white. But so many don't go with me here. And the lights of the String of Lights Backdrop are just perfect for the theme.

For the background I used a piece of an older patterned paper. It's actually one of the few I have as 12 x 12 papers and it's named Ice Blue Bokeh. The light dots just look like reflections of light and to perfectly with the string of lights. I darkened the patterned paper just around the edges with a bit of Distress Ink Peacock Feathers. 

 

Den String of Lights Backdrop habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Zudem habe ich für jedes Licht eine Birne extra gestanzt, ebenfalls aus weißem Cardstock. 

Die Birnen habe ich dann in Regenbogenfarben, das Kabel in Grautönen coloriert.

Ich habe die farbigen Birnen auf den Hintergrund geklebt und sie ein wenig beglittert. Dafür habe ich erst zwei Lagen klaren Embossingpulvers mit goldenem Glitter darin auf jeder Birne geschmolzen und anschließend alles noch mit Glossy Accents überzogen. Später habe ich noch Highlights mit einem weißen Gelstift aufgemalt und mich dabei an den in die Birnen gestanzten Highlights orientiert.

Hinter jede der Birnen habe ich dann mit farblich passender Kreide einen kleine Lichtschein auf den Hintergrund aufgetragen. 

 

I die cut the String of Lights Backdrop from white cardstock. I also cut for each of the lights an extra bulb, again from white cardstock.

I colored the bulbs in rainbow colors, the cord in greys.

I glued the colored bulbs onto the background and then added some glitter to them. I first melted two layers of clear embossing powder with small gold glitter in it on each bulb, then covered each bulb with Glossy Accents. Later I also added highlights with a white gel pen in the spot, where the highlights get cut from the bulbs.

I used chalk to add some shine of the lights and applied  a matching color behind each bulb. 

 

 

Mittig auf  die Karte habe ich dann meinen Text platziert. 

Der große Text ist mit der Giant Be Merry Stanze und silbernem Glitter-Cardstock gemacht. Per Hand habe ich eine Schattenlage aus Vellum geschnitten und die Glitter-Buchstaben darauf aufgeklebt.

Mit Stempeln aus dem Set Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments habe ich dann den kleineren Untertext weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst, ausgeschnitten und unter dem Glitter-Text quer über die Karte geklebt.

 

I placed my text onto the center of my card.

The large text is made from silver glitter cardstock using the Giant Be Merry die. I cut a shadow layer from vellum using my scissors and attached the glitter text to it.

Using dies from the Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments I white heat embossed the subtext onto black cardstock, cut it out and glued it across the card, right under the glittery text.

 

 Aus schwarzem Glitter-Cardstock habe ich einen der Stitched Rectangle Frames ausgestanzt.

Zum Zusammensetzen der Karte habe ich dann 3D Tape verwendet - dünnes hinter der Lichterkette, dickes hinter dem Text und dem Rahmen.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I used foam tape tTo put the card together: thin one behind the string of lights, thick one behind the text and frame.

 As the last step I glued the card panel to a white note card.
