Hallo Ihr Lieben!
Die heutige Karte, die ich wieder für das Halloweeners Team von WhimsyStamps gemacht habe, war eine Herausforderung. Nicht, weil ich mit der Karte an sich Probleme hatte. Aber das Design startete so komplett anders und hat sich dann so verselbständigt, dass außer dem Hintergrund nichts von der eigentlichen Idee mehr übrig war. Und weil ich alle anderen Elemente aber auch schon gemacht hatte, entstand direkt im Anschluss eine weitere Karte. Die zeige ich Euch aber wann anders.

This card, that I made for the Halloweeners Team by WhimsyStamps again, was a labor of love. Not because I had trouble with the card itself. But it started with a completly different design in mind and then took a different tour - so much, that nothing but the background is left from that original idea. Sine I had already created all the other elements as well I made another card right after I had finished this one. But that I am going to share with you in another post.
Es ist ja inzwischen hinlänglich bekannt, dass ich beim Basteln ein Kontroll-Freak bin und nur selten Techniken, die nicht zu 100 % kontrollierbar sind, anwende. Nun, zu Halloween ist das anders. Und so habe ich den Hintergrund mit Ink Smooshing gestartet. Ich habe auf Watercolor Cardstock und mit Distress Ink Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge und Dusty Concord gearbeitet. Anschließend habe ich schwarze Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.
Mit den Stempeln aus dem Terrific Halloween Tickets Set habe ich dann den Hintergrund bestempelt. Jedes der vier Motive aus dem Set kam zwei Mal zum Einsatz. Ich habe erst links die Tickets weiß aufembosst, dann die Reihenfolge geändert und rechts eine weitere Reihe gestaltet.
Die Ränder des Cardstocks habe ich dann mit Black Soot gewischt.
It's no secret, that I am a control freak when it comes to crafting and seldomly do techniques, that I can't controll 100 %. Well, that's different with Halloween cards. So I did some ink smooshing here. I worked with watercolor cardstock and Distress Ink Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge and Dusty Concord. Then I splattered black acrylic paint on top.
Using the stamps from the Terrific Halloween Tickets set I fully filled the background. I used each of the four tickets from the set twice. First I white heat embossed the left row, then re-arranged the stamps also changing their position in the row and did another row on the right side of the cardstock.
The edges of the cardstock I darkened with Black Soot.
Ab diesem Punk verließ mich meine eigentliche Idee. Ich hatte mit den Ticket Stempeln und dem Terrific Tickets Stanzenset nämlich auch "richtige" Tickets gestaltet. Da fehlte aber etwas auf der Karte. Da kam mir die Idee, den Karma Bus als Halloween-Tourbus zu benutzen. Die Tickets sind quasi die Fahrkarten. Nach dem Colorieren des Busses passten aber die Tickets nichts mehr auf die Karte. Weil ich aber den Bus schon coloriert hatte, wollte ich ihn auch benutzen...
Ich habe den Karma Bus abgestempelt und mit Copics coloriert. Der Busfahrer ist die kleine Katze aus Cat-O-Lantern. Eigentlich schaut sie ja hinter einem Kürbis hervor. Eine kleine Rundung des Kürbis sieht man hier noch, sie dient hier als Lenkrad. Und durch die leicht schräge Kopfhaltung scheint die Katze zu sagen "na, wie wärs, traust Du Dich und steigst ein?".
Das "Round Trip" aus dem Karma Bus Set passte hier super zur Karte. Ich habe es weiß in das dafür vorgesehene Fenster embosst.
Hinter das Fenster, das ich mit ausgeschnitten habe, habe ich Vellum gelegt. Dort habe ich dann auch mit schwarzem StazOn ein "beep beep" aufgestempelt.
Die Lichter des Busses und auch die Zielanzeige sind mit Glossy Accents überzogen.
Damit die Karte etwas mehr zu Halloween passt, habe ich dann einen der Peeking Ghosts aus Vellum gestanzt und hinter den Bus geklebt. Ich bin mir ja nicht sicher, ob die Katze den großen Geist schon gesehen hat. So lieb wie sie schaut, ist sie entweder noch komplett ahnungslos oder den Anblick von Geistern schon gewohnt. Auf den Geist habe ich mit einem weißen Polychromo einige Highlights aufgemalt.
That's where the card design took a completly different road. I had created some "real" tickets using the ticket stamps and the Terrific Tickets die set. But the card was missing something. So I had the idea of adding the Karma Bus as a Halloween tour bus. The tickets could be the bus tickets. Well, after I had colored the bus, the tickets didn't fit anymore. But since I had already colored the bus I wanted to use it...
I stamped the Karma Bus and colored it with Copics. The bus drdiver is the little cat from Cat-O-Lantern. Originally she's peeking out from behind a pumpkin. You can still see a little piece of the pumpkin - it changed into the steering wheel here. Due to the slightly slanted position of the cat's head she seams to say "hey, do you dare and get in the bus?".
The "round trip" is also from the Karma Bus set and just worked perfectly for this card. I white heat embossed it into the little window at the roof of the bus.
When cutting out the image I also cut out the window, then put some vellum behind it. That's also where I stamped on a "beep beep" using black StazOn.
The lights of the bus and also the sign with the stamped on round trip I covered with Glossy Accents.
To make the image work better for Halloween I die cut one of the Peeking Ghosts from vellum and glued it behind the bus. I am not sure if the cat has already seen that ghost behind her bus. The way she looks, she's either completly unaware of it, or is simply used to seeing ghosts. I added a few white highlights to the ghost using a white Polychromo.
Unter den Bus, quasi als Straße, habe ich einen Streifen schwarzen Cardstocks geklebt, auf den ich einen Teil eines der Ticket-Texte weiß aufembosst habe. Ich wollte unbedingt, dass der Graveyard Tours Text einmal komplett lesbar ist - die Texte auf den Tickets im Hintergrund kann man ja nur noch teilweise erkennen.
I glued a strip of black cardstock as a street under the bus. Onto that strip I had white heat embossed part of one of the ticket texts from the set. I really wanted the Graveyard Tours to be completly visible. With the tickets in the background you can read the texts only partly.

Geist ud Bus sind jeweils mit 3D Tape hinterlegt.
Als Deko habe ich dann einige Fledermäuse, gemacht aus schwarzem Cardstock mit dem Bat Revealers Set, und einige schwarze Pailetten auf der Karte verteilt. Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
Ghost and bus are backed with foam tape.
As decoration I added a few bats, cut from black cardstock using a die from the Bat Revealers die set, and some black sequins. Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.
