Schönen Feiertags-Donnerstag. Sorry, daß der Post verspätet ist - aber wenn mal kein Wecker klingelt, muß ich das ausnutzen. Aber natürlich gibt es auch diese Woche eine neue Challenge bei Cute Card Thursday - und zwar diesen Sketch:

Happy thursday! Sorry this post is a bit delayed but it´s a holiday today here in Germany and since nothing was waking me up I slept in a bit longer. But of course we have a new challenge for you over at Cute Card Thursday - it´s this sketch:

Ich habe dieses süßte Motiv von Mo Manning verwendet und eine Sommerkarte gemacht. Eigentlich sind es zwei Digis, ich habe die Sandburg einfach neben dem Mädchen platziert. Dabei kam dann auch endlich mal mein FlipFlop-Stanzer zum Einsatz. An den Tag links habe ich Charms in Form einer Sandschaufel und Muscheln angebracht.

I went with this cute image by Mo Manning and made a summer card. Actually these are two digis, I just put the sand castle next to the girl. That gave me a chance to finally use this flip flop punch. I attached a seashell and a paddle charm to the tag on the left.

Cute Card Thursday - embellish it

Alles Liebe zum Vatertag an alle Männer da draußen - für den Fall, daß sich einer hierher "verirren" sollte. Naja, und die heutige Karte ist jetzt ja auch nicht sonderlich männertauglich. ;o) Auch heute gibt es wie immer eine neue Challenge bei Cute Card Thursday - und diesmal lautet das Thema "embellish it". Es soll das Motiv verziert werden.

Happy father´s day to all those men out there - just in case any should come by here. And today´s card is not looking too man-ish either... ;o) Also today there is a new challenge starting over at Cute Card Thursday - and our theme is "embellish it". So put some embellishing on your image.

Ich habe Tilda in Summer Rain verwendet - auf den Zöpfen habe ich kleine Schleifchen angebracht, die Gummistiefel haben kleine Herz-Applikationen bekommen und auf dem Regenschirm habe ich etwas gepaper-pieced. Die Pfütze zu Tilda´s Füßen hat außerdem noch eine Schicht Stickles und darüber eine dicke Lage Glossy Accents bekommen...

I used Tilda in Summer Rain - and added two tiny bows to her hair, two hearts to her boots and paper pieced the umbrella. The puddle she is standing in is first covered with some Stickles, than I added a thick layer of Glossy Accents....

Passend zum weiß-blau des Motives habe ich dann auch die Papiere ausgesucht und ein wenig distressed. Der Briefmarken-Text ist von Whimsy Stamps, der kleine Spruch darunter ein Teil eines Stampin´Up Stempels. Ergänzt habe ich das ganze dann mit einem Knopf, einer Schleife, ein paar Perlen und Glitzersteinchen und ein paar Blumen.

I picked the papers matching the blue and white color scheme on the image and distressed them a bit. The stamp text is by Whimsy Stamps, the little sentiment underneath is a part of a stamp by Stampin´Up. To finish the card I added a button, a bow, a few pearls and gems and those flowers.

Hello dear friends! A new week has come - and so also a new challenge over at Stamps&Fun=Creativity. This time we have two sketches for you to choose from - and this is the one I used for my card:


Das Motiv ist von Whiff Of Joy - ich habe es während meines Besuches auf der Stempelmesse gesehen und sofort haben müssen. Auch das Papier mit den Schmetterlingen ist von Whiff Of Joy und es waren Reste, die beim Basteln meiner Karte von gestern übriggeblieben waren. Genau dafür ist dieser Sketch prima, zum Resteverwerten.

The image is by Whiff Of Joy - I saw it during my visit at the stamp fair and I just needed to get it. Also the butterfly paper is by Whiff Of Joy and it was a little bit of left overs from yesterday´s card. This is something the sketch is great for: using up those left overs and tiny pieces.

Schönen Montag Morgen! Die Woche startet wie gewohnt mit einer neuen Challenge bei Stamps&Fun=Creativity. Und diesmal möchten wir gerne Geburtstagskarten sehen.

Happy monday morning! Also this week is starting with a new challenge over at Stamps&Fun=Creativity. We´d like to see birthday cards for this challenge.

Ich habe hier gleich 3 Magnolia-Stempel verwendet: Romantic Window, Tilda with Small Gift und Prince Edwin. Dementsprechend groß ist das Motiv ausgefallen, aber der Sketch von Sketch Saturday den ich verwendet habe ist immer noch erkennbar.

Hallo und sonnigen Dienstag! Heute habe ich eine Hänglar-Karte, die ich Euch zeigen möchte. Und da bei A Spoon Full Of Sugar das Thema "tags" lautet, habe ich mal wieder eine Tag-Karte gemacht.

Hello and sunny tuesday! Today I have a Hänglar card to share with you. And since the theme over at A Spoon Full Of Sugar is "tags" I decided to make a tag card again.

Bei Copic Creations soll diesmal eine Farbkombi aus Komplementär-Farben gewählt werden - und es gibt ein tolles Farbrad, das die Entscheidung erleichtert. Ich habe mich für Powder Blue und Salmon/Rust entschieden.

At Copic Creations they want us to make a card using complementary colors - and they have a great color wheel posted to make the decision easier. I went with Powder Blue and Salmon/Rust.

Und bei Lovely Hänglar Only lautet die Aufgabe "Nähte". Da die Innen- und Außenseite meiner Karte zu sehen sind, habe ich mich für unechte Nähte entschieden.

Bei Lovely Hänglar Only lautet das Thema "take two" und es sollen mindestens zwei Hänglar-Stempel verwendet werden. Nun, auf meiner Karte ist das nicht sofort erkennbar aber sie sind da! Ich habe gestern das neue Kit "Message" bekommen. Darin sind "normale" Figuren mit herunterhängenden Armen und extra dazu zwei Schilder mit Händen, die sie halten. Ich habe also erst die Figur gestempelt und darüber mit 3D-Pads das Schild samt Hand geklebt. Darauf habe ich dann den Text von Studio G gestempelt.

At Lovely Hänglar Only the theme is "take two" and they want us to use at least two Hänglar stamps. Well, you can´t see it at first look but there are two images by Hänglar on my card. Yesterday I got the new "message" kit in the mail. It has "normal" characters with arms hanging down and extra two signs with a hand that holds them. So I stamped the character first and then put the sign with hand on top of it using 3D pads. On the sign I stamped the text by Studio G.

Stempeleinmaleins - Ausgabe vom 5. Februar 2011

Wunderschönen Samstag Euch allen! Es ist wieder Zeit für eine neue Ausgabe des Stempeleinmaleins - und diesmal gibt es endlich die Anleitung für die Torten-Karte, nach der schon so viele gefragt haben.

Happy saturday! It´s time for a new issue of Stempeleinmaleins and this week we have the tutorial for how to make this cake card - finally since so many of you asked for it.

Natürlich habe ich es mir nicht nehmen lassen, eine neue Karte dafür zu machen. Dies ist die Front:

Dies ist eine etwas vereinfachte Variante mit nur einer Kerze. Die braucht dann auch keine Box sondern kann einfach mit etwas Band in der Karte befestigt werden.

This is a little simpler version with just one candle. And you don´t need a box for it but it´s enough to fix it with some ribbon.

Sonntag - schon seit Kindertagen ein fader Tag. Wie gut, daß es das Basteln gibt!

Sunday - I hate these since I was a kid. How lucky I am that there is crafting!

"Cuddly", also so viel wie knuddeln, ist das Thema bei Totally Gorjuss. Da paßt doch der Sister and Brother Stempel von Magnolia!

"Cuddly" is the theme they picked at Totally Gorjuss for their new challenge. I had to think of the Sister and Brother stamp by Magnolia right away!

What´s new wird bei Copic Creations gefragt. Etwas neues, egal was und nicht unbedingt Copic-bezogen soll es sein. Ich habe die süßen kleinen Halbperlen in meinem Adventskalender von Tanja gehabt und sie hier zum ersten Mal verbastelt.

What´s new are they asking at Copic Creations. So anything new, no matter what and doesn´t have to be Copic related is what they ask for. I got those cute tiny halfpearls in the advent calendar from Tanja and used them for the first time today.

Bei Just Magnolia heißt das Thema "my favourite things" - Lieblingsdinge. Oh Gott, da fällt die Wahl schwer denn eigentlich benutze ich alles gerne... Copics, Schnörkel, schöne Papiere - alles auf der Karte zu finden.

At Just Magnolia the theme is "my favourite things". Oh boy, it´s so hard to make a decision here since I nearly love to use everything I have... Copics, flourish, beautiful papers - everything can be found on my card.

Bei Stempelträume sind Knöpfe gefragt - ist zwar nur einer, aber er ist da!

At Stempelträume they want to see buttons - well, there´s only one but it´s there!

Und das Thema bei Timbroscrapmania lautet "use 2 stamps" - verwende 2 Stempel, wobei der Text nicht als zweiter Stempel gilt... Darum habe ich noch das Herz von Magnolia gestempelt, coloriert, ausgeschnitten und als Embellishment verwendet.

And the theme at Timbroscrapmania is "use 2 stamps" - and the saying does not count as the 2nd stamp.... So I stamped the little heart by Magnolia, colored it, cut it out and used it as an embellishment.

Freitag - in einer Woche ist Weihnachten! Und ich bin froh, dann für eine Zeit keine Weihnachtskarten mehr machen zu müssen... Darum gibt es auch heute schon eine Winterkarte von mir. In frostigen Farben, mit viel Glitzer und dem süßen Motiv "Snowfight" von Belles´n´Whistles. Achtung, sonst trifft Euch der Schneeball noch!

Friday - just one week until christmas! And I am quite happy not to have to make any christmas cards for a little while... And that´s also a reason why I made a wintercard today. Using frosty colors, a lot of glitter and that cute "Snowfight" image by Belles´n´Whistles. Take care or her snowball will hit you!

Das Wort Winter habe ich mit Crackle Paint überzogen - und wenn man es aus der Nähe betrachtet, dann sieht es aus wie echtes Eis.

WOW

Hi hi - nein, ich bin nicht größenwahnsinnig geworden! WOW steht für White On White - also eine komplett weiße Karte. Nur das Motiv darf bzw. soll coloriert werden. Und dieses WOW ist die Vorgabe für die erste Runde beim Simply Sassy Wettbewerb auf dem Sugar Nellie Blog. Da das Haupt-Augenmerk auf der Coloration liegen soll, soll der Rest der Karte weiß bleiben.

Ha ha, no, I´m not getting too big for my boots and thinking my cards are the best! WOW is for White On White - which means a totally white card. Only the image can or has to be colored. And this WOW is the theme for round one of the Simply Sassy Competition over at the Sugar Nellie Blog. Since the main focus is on the coloring the rest of the card needs to be white.


Zu gewinnen gibt es dort nicht nur eine Spellbinders Grand Caliber sondern evtl. auch noch einen Platz im DT. Da muß ich einfach mitmachen...! Und zum Glück hat der Schnee in Europa die Post nicht all zu sehr beeinträchtigt so daß meine Simply Sassy Stempel noch rechtzeitig gekommen sind.

You can not only win a Spellbinders Grand Caliber but evtl. also a spot in their DT. I just had to enter...! And lucky me that the snow in Europe didn´t cause too many issues with the mail or my Simply Sassy stamps wouldn´t have arrived in time to enter!

Hier eine Großaufnahme vom colorierten Motiv. Das Licht geht von der Kerze aus und da Kerzen ein warmes Licht machen, habe ich den Stellen, die am nächsten an der Kerze sind (Backe, Haarsträhne, Auge, Ohr, Oberarm), einen leichten gelben Touch gegeben. Draufclicken aufs Foto macht es größer:

Here´s a close up of the colored image. The light source is the candle and since those make a warm and yellow-ish light I added a touch of yellow to the areas that are the closest to the candle (ear, hair, top of arm, eye, cheek). If you click on the picture you´ll be able to see it bigger:


Leider ist das Licht im Winter nicht so toll zum fotografieren... Aber ich denke, man kann es trotzdem einigermaßen erkennen.

Unfortunately the light isn´t the best for taking pictures... But I think you should be able to see it quite good.

Whiff Of Joy # 91

Hallo - und schön, daß Du vorbeischaust! Bei mir ist es momentan etwas ruhiger - sozusagen "wegen Renovierung geschlossen". Das Zimmer unserer Mädels hat es dringend nötig, und außerdem ist es ihr Weihachtsgeschenk. Alles neu... und somit jede Menge Arbeit. Darum wird es die nächsten Tage "nur" meine DT-Karten zu sehen geben.

Hello - and glad to see you! It´s pretty quiet at the moment here - my blog is "closed for renovation". Well, not the blog is getting a make over but my girls´ room. It´s their christmas gift - and really necessary! All new... so it means a lot of word. So you´ll "only" get to see my dt cards for the next few days.

Heute startet unsere neue Challenge bei Whiff Of Joy - und das Thema lautet "Weihnachtskarte".

Today the new challenge over at Whiff Of Joy is starting - and the theme we picked for you is "christmas card".

Ich habe zwei Stempel aus dem September Stempel Kit verwendet. Vielleicht nicht unbedingt die meistgenutzte Stempel-Kombination, aber mir gefielen die Laterne und das kleine Jesus-Kind zusammen sehr gut für eine klassische Karte. Da das Motiv recht zart ist, habe ich nicht zu viel Verzierungen verwendet, dafür auf die Ecken der Designpapiere etwas Goldstaub aufgetragen.

I used two stamps from the september stamp kit. Well, probably this isn´t the most popular stamp combination, but I liked the lantern and little Jesus together for a classical card. Since the image is quite small and soft I didn´t add too many embellishments but some fine gold powder to the edges of the designer´s papers.

Bei den Cutie Stampers gibt es eine Farbvorgabe: Blau, Braun plus eine Farbe nach Wahl - in meinem Fall Grün.

At the Cutie Stampers they have a color combo: blue, brown and one additional colors - I used green here.

Und bei den Copic Creations: soll diesmal der Colorless Blender verwendet werden - sie haben jede Menge Tips und Tricks für uns bereit. Ich habe versucht, die Hose des Jungen wie eine Jeans aussehen zu lassen. Außerdem habe ich auf das Boot kleine Linien gemacht, so daß es etwas mehr wie Holz aussieht.
