Aktuell läuft die LawnFawnatics Challenge #144 mit dem Thema "all things birthday", also alles rund um den Geburtstag. Und ich habe dafür diese fröhlich-bunte Karte gemacht.

The current LawnFawnatics challenge #144 has the theme of "all things birthday". And I made this bright and colorful card for it.

 

 Hier kamen wieder einige der Neuheiten aus dem letzten Release zum Einsatz. 

Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück weißen Cardstocks im oberen Bereich leicht mit Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, im unteren mit Cracked Pistacchio gewischt. Dann habe ich den Aufleger mit der Reveal Whell Add-On Stanze ebenfalls aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und sie mit Distress Ink Broken China und Lucky Clover gewischt. Auf beide Cardstockstücke habe ich dann mit Distress Ink Lost Shadow die Achterbahn aus dem Stempelset Coaster Critters so aufgestempelt, dass sie später, wenn beide Teile aufeinander liegen, fortlaufend ist. Ich habe die hellgraue Tinte gewählt, damit die Achterbahn in den Hintergrund rückt. 

Anschließend habe ich noch goldene und weiße Metallic Watercolor auf beide Cardstockstücke gespritzt. 

Here I used some of the new items from the latest release again.

For the background I inked a piece of white cardstock lightly with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass in the upper area and with Cracked Pistacchio on the bottom. Then I die cut the Reveal Wheel Add-On die from white cardstock again and inked that with Broken China and Lucky Clover. Onto both pieces I stamped the roller coaster from the Coaster Critters stamp set with Distress Ink Lost Shadow, making sure they will fit seamlessly when the cardstock pieces are put on top of each other. I've chosen the light grey ink so the roller coaster looks like it is some distance away.

Then I also flicked some gold and some white metallic watercolor onto both cardstock pieces.

Den oberen Bereich der Karte habe ich dann mit einigen gestanzten Wolken aus den Stanzensets Platform Pop-Up Cloud Inserts und Platform Pop-Up Cloud Wrap Around sowie zwei Heißluftballons aus dem Set Fly High dekoriert. 

Unten befindet sich ein Ticketstand, in dem ein Bär die Karten verkauft. Beides ist aus dem Set Wheelie Great Day. Der Elefant aus dem Set Fly High hätte so gerne ein Ticket gekauft, aber ihm wurde gesagt, er sei zu schwer für das Riesenrad. Und so sitzt er nun neben dem Ticketstand und schaut seinen Freunden zu.

Rechts steht noch ein kleiner Bär, der gerade ein paar Luftballons gekauft hat. Der Bär ist aus dem Set Coaster Critters Flip-Flop, die Ballons aus dem Set Coaster Critters.

Alle Motive sind mit Copics coloriert.

Star der Karte ist natürlich das Riesenrad. Und ja, das sieht hier ein wenig anders aus. Deswegen:

Onto the sky I glued some clouds die cuts using dies from the sets Platform Pop-Up Cloud Inserts and Platform Pop-Up Cloud Wrap Around and two hot air balloons from the Fly High set.

On the grass I placed a ticket booth, in which a bear is selling tickets. Both images are from the Wheelie Great Day set. The elephant from the Fly High set really wanted to buy a ticket, but he was told he is too heavy for the ferris wheel. And now he's sitting there next to the ticket booth, watching his friends take a ride.

On the right side there's a little bear, that just purchased some ballonns. The bear is from the Coaster Critters Flip-Flop set, the balloons from the Coaster Critters set.

All images are colored with Copics.

Of course, star of this card is the ferris wheel. And yes, it looks a bit different here. That's why:

Sofort, als ich das Motiv sah, wusste ich, dass ich eine interaktive Karte mit sich drehendem Riesenrad machen wollte. 

Nun, ich hatte das ganze nicht von vorneherein komplett durchdacht. Erst beim Stempeln fiel mir auf, dass die einzelnen Kabinen ja so angebracht werden müssen, dass sie sich ebenfalls frei drehen, damit die armen Insassen keine Kopf-Über-Fahrt machen müssen. Die Kabinen waren aber oben schwerer als unten.

Ich habe wirklich lange rumgetüftelt, bis endlich alles klappte. 

Das Riesenrad, ebenfalls aus dem Set Wheelie Great Day, habe ich einmal mit hellgrauer Tinte und einmal mit schwarzer Tinte abgestempelt und zusätzlich eine 6. Kabine gestempelt, so dass später beim Drehen keine Lücke zwischen den Kabinen ist. Von dem hellgrau gestempelten Motiv habe ich dann nur den großen Ring coloriert und anschließend alle Linien mit einem schwarzen Fineliner wieder aufgemalt. Schließlich sollten, wenn sich die Kabinen drehen, nicht die sich nicht drehenden schwarzen Kabinen dahinter sichtbar sein. Die Kabinen habe ich coloriert und zusätzlich den unteren Teil jeweils ein weiteres Mal. Die Kabinen habe ich dann mit einem kleinen Brad relativ locker and dem großen Ring befestigt und zum Beschweren des unteren Teils der Kabinen jeweils vier schmale Streifen selbstklebenden Magnetklebebands befestigt. Manchmal hängt die Rückseite der Brads, die ich hinten mit Tesa am großen Ring fixiert habe, ein klein wenig am Magneten, deswegen stehen die Kabinen manchmal ein klein wenig schief. Aber das hat mir nichts ausgemacht, ich war so froh, dass endlich alles klappte. Und etwas anderes relativ schweres aber sehr schmales und dünnes konnte ich partout nicht finden.

Brad und Magnetband habe ich dann mit den extra gestempelten und colorierten Unterteilen - dafür gibt es einen Stempel im Set - verdeckt.

Mittig auf der Rückseite des Riesenradss habe ich zwei runde Foam Pads aufgeklebt und sie durch ein Loch, das ich in den Reveal Wheel Add-On Aufleger gestanzt habe, gesteckt. Von hinten habe ich dann das Drehrad angeklebt und den Aufleger samt Riesenrad mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Kartenhintergrund geklebt. 

Um das Rad dann noch komplett zu machen, habe ich den Ständer coloriert, ausgeschnitten und nur unten am Querständer mit doppeltem 3D Tape auf der Karte befestigt. Dieser Teil musste so hoch werden, damit die Kabinen samt Brads gut darunter hindurchfahren konnten.

Dreht man nun am Drehrad, fährt das Riesenrad los und das, ohne dass die Insassen einen Überschlag machen müssen.

As soon as I saw this image I knew, I wanted to make an interactive card with a functioning ferris wheel. 

Well, I hadn't thought this through completly when I started making the card. Only when I was  stamping the images, I realized, that the little cabins need to turn freely as well so the poor people inside don't have to ride upside down. But the cabins were top heavy.

It really took me two days until I had finally figured out a way to make it word.

I stamped the ferris wheel, also from the Wheelie Great Day set, once with light grey ink and once with black ink. I also stamped a sixth cabin to fill the gap at the bottom, that would look strange when the wheel is turning. From the light grey stamped image I only colored the large ring including the center, then re-drew all images with a black fineliner. I did that, so the black cabins wouldn't be visible behind the others that were turning. I colored  the black stamped  cabins and also colored  just the cabin bottoms again. Then I attached the cabins to the big ring quite loosely using small brads and glued four small pieces of self-adhesive magnet tape to the bottom of each cabin. When the wheel is turning, the back of the brads - that I fixed with some tape to the back of the wheel - stuck to the magnet tape and they are a bit slanted sometimes. But I don't care. I am so happy it finally worked and I wasn't able to find anything else quite heavy and that small. 

I covered the brads and the magnet tape with the extra stamped cabin bottoms - there is an image for that in the stamp set.

Onto the back center of the ferris wheel I glued two round foam pads and put those through a small whole, that I had cut from the center of the Reveal Wheel Add-On piece. Then I glued the white circle, that is used to turn the wheel, to the other side of the foam pads and adhered the Reveal Wheel Add-On with the ferris wheel to the background using thin foam tape.

To make the ferris wheel complete, I colored the stand, cut it out and used doubled up foam tape just at the horizontal part of the stand to attach it to the card. This piece has to stand up that high so the cabins with the brads can run under it freely. 

When you turn the white wheel now, the ferris wheel starts turning, and that, without the cabins being upside down during the ride.

 

Und hier seht Ihr nochmal richtig, wie sich das Rad dreht. Es war etwas schwer, das über Kopf zu machen. Aber Ihr seht - es klappt! Und ich kann Euch nicht sagen, wie sehr mich das freut, dass sich meine Hartnäckigkeit gelohnt hat. Zwischendrin war ich mal kurz vor dem Aufgeben....

And here you can see again how the wheel turns. It was a big hard to film that because I had to stand to the side of the card and turn the wheel with my hands coming from up and behind. But as you can see - it works! And I can't tell you, how happy I am, that sticking to it paid off. Inbetween I was close to giving up....

Zum Schluss brauchte meine Karte noch einen Text. 

Dafür habe ich die Buchstaben für das Wort Wheelie mit dem Henry's ABCs Stanzenset einmal aus schwarzem und viermal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt. Jeweils einen der weißen Buchstaben habe ich mit Copics in Regenbogenverlauf coloriert. Dann habe ich alle Buchstaben aufeinander geklebt, die schwarze Lage dabei als unterstes ein wenig versetzt, und die Buchstaben unten auf meiner Karte angeklebt.

Der Rest des Textes ist aus dem Stempelset Berry Special und mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Ich habe den Text mittig geteilt und die Teile ober- und unterhalb der gestanzten Buchstaben aufgeklebt.

To finish this card, it needed a text.

I die cut the letters for the word Wheelie with the Henry's ABCs die set once from black and four times from white cardstock. I colored one of each white letters with Copics in rainbow order, then stacked them, using the black letters as a shadow and attaching them a bit offset. Then I adhered the letters to the bottom of my card.

The rest of the text is from the Berry Special stamp set and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. I cut the text apart and adhered the pieces above and under the die cut letters.

Für meinen heutigen Post auf dem Stampcorner Blog, habe ich nochmal das Stempelset Beste Freunde aus dem Februar-Release verwendet und damit diese Motivationskarte gemacht. Da ja die Zeit der Abschlussarbeiten und Schulabschlüsse wieder ansteht, kann man die gut gebrauchen.

For today's post over on the Stampcorner Blog I used the Beste Freunde stamp set from the february release again and made this motivation card. It's the time of final tests at schools and universities again, so a card like that could come in handy.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich aus einem Stück weißen Cardstocks erst mit einer der Peek-a-Boo Circle Window Stanzen von MFT einen Kreis samt gestitchter Umrandung ausgestanzt. Dann habe ich einen etwas größeren Kreis aus Masking Tape gestanzt und das Fenster damit abgedeckt.

Anschließend habe ich mit klarem Embossingpulver überall auf dem Cardstock verteilt die Fischgräte aus dem Stempelset Beste Freunde aufembosst. 

Mit Distress Oxide Dried Marigold, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge und ganz unten ein klein wenig Gathered Twigs habe ich dann den Hintergrund - das Masking Tape immer noch über den Ausschnitt geklebt - eingefärbt und anschließend einige Wassertropfen aufgespritzt. Da ich hier einen eher cleanen Look haben wollte, habe ich sogar ausnahmsweise auf meine geliebten Farbspritzer verzichtet.

For the background I first die cut a circle with a stitched outer frame from a piece of white cardstock, using one of the Peek-a-Boo Circle Window dies by MFT. Then I cut a slightly larger circle from masking tape and covered the window cut out with it.

With clear embossing powder I heat embossed the fish bone from the Beste Freunde stamp set all over the cardstock.

Using Distress Oxide Dried Marigold, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and at the very bottom just a hint of Gathered Twigs I inked up the whole cardstock - the masking tape still in place - and then flicked a few droplets of water on top. I was after a clean look here so I even didn't splatter any metallic watercolor over the panel.

Den süßen Katzenkof habe ich mit dem Fade Out Kissen von InkOn3 abgestempelt und dann mit einer Kombination aus Copics und Polychromos in No-Line Technik coloriert. Die weißen Details und Highlights sind mit einem Gelstift gemacht. Den Mund, die Augen, die Nase und die Schnurrhaare habe ich mit einem Copic Multiliner nachgemalt.

Als ich die Stanze für meinen Text herausgeholt habe, fiel mir die ebenfalls im Set befindliche Sonnenbrillen-Stanze auf. Und mir kam die Idee, der Katze eine Brille zu verpassen! Nun, die Brille, die mich auf die Idee gebracht hat, war viel zu groß. Aber ich habe meine Stanzen durchsucht und eine wirklich schon recht alte Stanze von ImpressionObsession gefunden. Damit habe ich diese Brille aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und der Katze auf die Nase gesetzt. Anschließend habe ich sie mit Glossy Accents überzogen und dabei auch den Bereich, in dem sich die Gläser befinden, gefüllt. 

Im Stempelset Beste Freunde befindet sich ein Text Miau - ich habe Dich zum Fressen gern. Ich habe nur das Wort Miau weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und mit einer Sprechblasenstanze ausgestanzt. 

Zuerst habe ich die Katze von hinten in den Ausschnitt geklebt, dann die Sprechblase mit dünnem 3D Tape darüber angebracht.

The cute cat head I stamped with the Fade Out ink pad by InkOn3 and then colored it in no-line technique using a combination of Copics and Polychromos. For the white details and highlights I used a gel pen. The mouth, eyes, nose and whiskers I re-drew with a Copic Multiliner.

When I was taking out the die for my main text I saw the sunglass die, that's included with the text. And that gave me the idea, of letting the cat wear glasses. Well, the glasses in the text set were way too large. So I went through my dies and came across a quite old die by ImpressionObsession. I die cut it from black cardstock and glued it onto the cat's face. Then covered the glasses with Glossy Accents and also filled in the area, where the glass would be.

In the Beste Freunde stamp set there is a text included, that starts with a meow. I white heat embossed just that word onto black cardstock and cut it out with a speech bubble die.

First I glued the cat into the window, attaching it to the back of the background cardstock, then I adhered the speech bubble above it with thin foam tape.

Für den gestanzten Text habe ich das Stanzenset Stay Cool von MFT benutzt. Ich habe den Text dreimal aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt, die Buchstaben erst aufeinander und dann auf den Hintergrund, unterhalb des ausgestanzten Fensters, aufgeklebt.

Darunter habe ich noch einen der Texte aus dem Set Sei Mutig angebracht. Auch den habe ich mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

For the die cut text I used the Stay Cool die set by MFT. I die cut the text three times from black carstock, stacked the letters and then attached the text to the background, right under the cut out window. 

Then I added a "you can do it" subtext, again white heat embossed onto black cardstock and adhered with thin foam tape.

Zum Schluss habe ich einige schwarze Pailetten als Deko auf der Karte verteilt und den Hintergrund schwarz gemattet. Die Mattung ist nun auch hinter der Katze durch das Fenster hindurch sichtbar. 

Auf die Rückseite des Katzenkopfes, nur oben ganz nah an der Kante, habe ich einen dünnen Streifen dickeren 3D Tapes angebracht und damit die Katze auf der Mattung festgeklebt. So sieht es so aus, als würde sie sich ein wenig aus dem ausgestanzten Fenster herauslehnen.

Zum Schluss habe ich alles noch auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

To finish the card I added a few black sequins as decorations and matted the background with black cardstock. This black cardstock is now also visible behind the cat through the window.

To the back of the cat, only close to the top edge, I adhered a strip of ticker foam tape and used it, to glue the cat to the black cardstock behind it. Now it looks, like the cat is leaning out of the window a bit. 

As a last step I mounted everything onto a white note card.

März-Sketch Challenge bei Create a Smile

Mit einem neuen Sketch startet heute eine neue Challenge von Create a Smile. Und das hier ist der Sketch:

With a new sketch we are starting a new challenge over on the Create a Smile Blog. And this is the sketch:

 

 

Als ich den Sketch gesehen habe, vielen mir sofort die Langen Freunde aus dem Februar-Release ein. Und so ist diese Karte entstanden:

When I saw the sketch for the first time, I immediately had to think of the "Lange Freunde" stamp set from the february release. And that's how the idea for this card was born:

Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück weißen Cardstock hauptsächlich im unteren und rechten Bereich leicht mit Ditress Ink Tumbled Glass gewischt. Dann habe ich die Cloud Pattern Stencil aufgelegt und ebenfalls nur rechts mit derselben Farbe, aber etwas kräftiger, Wolken aufgewischt. Anschließend habe ich noch einige Kleckse mit hellblauer Metallic Watercolor darüber gespritzt.

For the background I inked up mainly the bottom and right side of a piece of white cardstock with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass. Then I put the Cloud Pattern stencil onto the cardstock and added some clouds, again to the right side only, using the same ink but putting it down with a heavier hand. Then I  spritzed some light blue metallic watercolor over the cardstock.

Aus dem Stempelset Beweisfoto habe ich dann den Polaroid-Rahmen dreimal abgestempelt und die Giraffe aus dem Set Lange Freunde so hineingestempelt, dass einmal ein Teil des Körpers, einmal nur ein Stück des Halses und einmal der Kopf im Rahmen zu sehen ist. 

Ich habe alles mit Copics coloriert, die Rahmen ausgeschnitten und auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Dafür musste ich die Anordnung der Rahmen - im Vergleich zum Sketch - ein wenig abändern, sonst hätte die Giraffe zerschnitten ausgesehen. Ich wollte aber, dass es so aussieht, als hätte ein Foto für den langen Hals der Giraffe nicht ausgereicht.

Anschließend habe ich mit der kleinen Wolken aus dem Stanzenset Weather noch drei weiße Wolken ausgestanzt und auf die Plaroids geklebt.

I stamped the Polaroid frame from the Caught in the Act stamp set three times and then stamped the giraffe from the Lange Freunde stamp set into the frames, making sure to have part of the body in one, only the neck in the second and the head in the third frame.

I colored everything with Copics, cut the frames out and adhered them onto the background. I had to change the position of the elements - compared to the sketch - to avoid the giraffe looking cut off. Instead I was after the loof of the giraffe being that big, that it was impossible to get it on just one picture. 

Then I die cut the small cloud from the Weather die cut set three times from white cardstock and attached those to the polaroid pictures.

Für den Text musst ich dann ein wenig tricksen, denn es gibt kein Stempelset von Create a Smile, in dem in irgendeiner Form das Wort großartig vorkommt. 

Der Textteil "du bist so" ist aus dem Stempelset tapfer. Das Wort groß ist mit dem Cherry Lowercase Stanzenset gemacht - die Outlines habe ich aus braunem, die Füllung aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt. Und für den Wortteil artig habe ich dann noch zwei Stempel aus dem Set Ein ziemlicher Knaller benutzt und die Buchstaben jeweils einzeln aus den Worten herausgestempelt und neu zusammengesetzt.

For the text I had to mix stamps and die cuts. It means "you are so great". I used a stamp from the Hang in there stamp set - there's a "you are so" in the german version. The word great I die cut with the Cherry Lowercase alphabet die set, cutting the outlines from brown, the centers from yellow cardstock. 

Zum Schluss habe ich noch einige kleine, goldene Herz-Konfetti auf der Karte verteilt, alles schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

To finish the card, I added a few small gold heart confetti, matted the cardstock black and attached it to a white note card.

Party like a Monster

Vor einiger Zeit hatte ich verschiedene Hintergründe geprägt, denn ich war mir nicht sicher, welcher davon für die Karte, an der ich gerade saß, am besten passen würde. Die übrig gebliebenen lagen noch auf meinem Tisch. Und ich dachte mir, mache ich doch aus einem davon eine Karte. Und so fing das Drama an....

Some time ago I dry embossed different backgrounds, because I wasn't sure, which of them would look best on the card I was working on. The left overs were still on my table. So I thought I'd turn one of them into a card. That's where the drama started....

Den weißen Cardstock hatte ich mit dem Falling Petals Folder von SU embosst - die Blüten sehen für mich immer noch mehr wie Herzen aus. Also habe ich ihn erstmal mit Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid, Abandoned Coral, Tea Dye und Antique Linen von der linken unteren Ecke startend gewischt und ein paar Wassertropfen drauf verteilt.

I had dry embossed some white cardstock with the Falling Petals embossing folder by SU - the petals still look more like hearts to me. So I started at the bottom left corner and inked up the cardstock with Distress Oxide Lumberjack Plaid, Abandoned Coral, Tea Dye and Antique Linen and then flicked some water on top.

Auf der Suche nach einem Motiv fiel mir dann das Monsters Stempelset von CCDesign in die Hände, das ich auch schon lange nicht mehr verwendet hatte. Also habe ich das Monster mit roter Tinte gestempelt und dann mit Polychromos in Rot- und Pink-Tönen coloriert. Außerdem habe ich das Schild aus dem Stempelset Apple-Solutely Awesome von LawnFawn coloriert, mit einem Text aus dem Just Add Glitter Set bestempelt, ausgeschnitten und dem Monster in die Hand gegeben.

Und dann wusste ich nicht weiter. Egal, was ich ausprobierte, irgendwie wollte mir nichts gefallen. Zum Schluss habe ich so lange Stanzteile aufeinander und unter das Motiv gelegt, bis die Karte zwar recht voll, aber für mich stimmig war.

Ganz unten befindet sich einer der Stitched Square Frames von Create a Smile, gestanzt aus rosa-rotem Cardstock. Dann habe ich die Bubble Border von LawnFawn aus Vellum gestanzt, zerteilt und einen Teil nach rechts, den anderen etwas nach unten versetzt und links aufgeklebt. Für die Strahlen, die ich aus schwarzem Cardstock und schwarzem Glitter Cardstock gestanzt und etwas versetzt aufeinander geklebt habe, habe ich eine Stanze von Action verwendet. Und darauf kam dann noch der runde Rahmen, gemacht mit der Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Window Frame von MFT aus weißem Cardstock.

While looking for an image I came across the Monsters stamp set by CCDesings, that I hadn't use for a long time. So I stamped one of the monsters with red ink and colored them in reds and pinks with my Polychromos. I also stamped the sign from the Apple-Solutely Awesome stamp set by LawnFawn, stamped a text from the Just Add Glitter set onto it, colored  the sign, cut it out and let the monster hold it.

And then I was at a loss. No matter what I tried, I just didn't like it. I ended up with putting lots of die cuts on top of each other and under the image, until the card was pretty full but looked kind of finished to me.

There's one of the Stitched Square Frames by Create a Smile, die cut from some pink-red cardstock, at the bottom of my die cut pile. Then I die cut the Bubble Border by LawnFawn from Vellum, cut it apart and adhered one half to the right, the other one a bit further down to the left of my cardstock. For the rays, that I die dut from regular black cardstock and some black glitter cardstock and then stacked them a bit offset, I used a die by Action. And then I put the circle frame, made from white cardstock with the Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Window Frame by MFT, on top.

Für den Text auf der Karte habe ich das Wort Party mit der Party Stanze von Create a Smile wieder aus normalem schwarzem und schwarzem Glitter Cardstock gestanzt und aufgeklebt.

Die kleinen Texte darunter sind weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst - das Like a ist Teil eines Stempels aus dem Party like a Pirate Set von MFT, das Monster stammt aus dem Monsters Stempelset von CCDesigns. Beide sind mit 3D Tape aufgeklebt, damit die Worte etwas auf gleicher Höhe wie der runde Rahmen sind - durch die vielen aufeinander geklebten Stanzteile hat sich hier automatisch eine gewisse Höhe ergeben.

For the text on my card I die cut the word party with the Party die by Create a Smile again from regular black and black glitter cardstock and adhered them to the card.

The smaller texts underneath are white heat embossed onto black cardstock - the "like a" is from the Party like a Pirate set by MFT, the "monster" is from the Monsters stamp set by CCDesigns. I attached both pieces with foam tape, to bring them to the same height as the circle frame. Due to all those stacked die cuts I ended up with some height there automatically.

Zum Schluss habe ich noch einige Luftschlangen aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt - wieder mit einer Stanze von Action - und einige rot-irisierende Folien-Konfetti als Deko auf der Karte verteilt. Den Cardstock habe ich schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

Last but not least I die cut some streamers from black cardstock - again using a die by Action - and added some red iridescent confetti as decoration. I matted the cardstock black and attached it to a white note card.

Vorgestern habe ich Euch ja eine Watercolor Card ganz ohne Stanzteile gezeigt. Nun, das mache ich heute wieder wett: auf der heutigen Karte gibt es fast nur Stanzteile zu sehen.

Two days ago I shared a card with you, on which I didn't use a single die cut. Well, I am making up for that with today's card: there are - nearly - only die cuts on this one.

 

 Für den Hintergrund hier habe ich etwas Ink Smooshing mit Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire auf Watercolor Cardstock gemacht. Dann habe ich mit der Dotted Tile Debossing Cover Stanze von Altenew das Muster in den Cardstock gestanzt.

For the background I did some ink smooshing with Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire on watercolor cardstock. Then I used the Dotted Tile Debossing Cover die by Altenew to cut the pattern into the cardstock.

Auch die Stanze, die ich für das Mandala auf dieser Karte verwendet habe, habe ich mir bei Action mitgenommen. Ich habe die Teile aus Cardstock in verschiedenen Blautönen gestanzt - jede Lage pro Farbe zwei Mal für etwas mehr Dimension.  Die oberste der drei Mandala-Lagen habe ich mehrfach aus den helleren Tönen gestanzt und zugeschnitten. So habe ich Extra-Lagen gestaltet, die das Motiv noch interessanter machen. Das kleinste Teil hier habe ich aus silberfarbenem Glitter-Cardstock gestanzt. Und weil so viel in der Mitte los war und der Rand dadurch irgendwie fad aussah, habe ich die unterste Lage nochmal aus hellblauem Cardstock gestanzt, die mittleren Teile herausgeschnitten und nur den Ring als Rahmen aufgeklebt. Die Mitte meines Mandalas habe ich mit einem kleinen Herz, gemacht aus drei Lagen schwarzen Cardstocks, dekoriert. 

Der Text auf meiner Karte ist eine Mischung aus einem Textstempel aus dem Brilliant Day Stempelset von HoneybeeStamps und einem gestanzten Wort - hier weiß ich leider den Hersteller gerade nicht. Das Wort friend habe ich aus silberfarbenem Glittercardstock gestanzt und mehrfach mit schwarzem Cardstock hinterlegt. Den Rest des Textes habe ich weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock gestempelt und dabei den Abstand zwischen To und a ein wenig verbreitert, so dass das F von friend gut dazwischen passte.

Also the die that I used for the mandala on this card is one, that I got at a local Dollar store. I die cut the layers from different tones of blue, each layer twice for some dimension. The top layer I've die cut from different shades of lighter blue cardstock and then cut off the outer areas, getting smaller with each color, to make the mandala even more interesting. I die cut the smallest piece from silver glitter cardstock.

And since there was so much happening  on the center of the mandala, the outer edge looked a bit plain. So I die cut the base layer again from light blue cardstock, cut off the center and only attached the ring as a frame. The center of my mandala I decorated with a heart, made from three layers of black cardstock. 

The text on my card is a mix of a text from the Brilliant Day stamp set by HoneybeeStamps and a die cut word, that I don't know the brand of at the moment. I die cut the word friend from silver glitter cardstock and put three layers of black cardstock behind it. The rest of the text I white heat embossed onto black cardstock, moving the cardstock between stamping the To and the rest to get a larger gap between the first two words where the F of friend fits into. 

Zum Schluss habe ich einige silber-glitzernde Pailetten auf der Karte verteilt, den Cardstock schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. Okay, gelogen. Für meine Fotos lege ich die Cardstockstücke und Kartenbasis nur aufeinander und bewahre die "Karten" unmontiert auf. Deswegen sieht der Aufleger hier auch so wellig aus. Wenn ich ihn später zum Verschenken der Karte montiere, wird das natürlich anders.

To finish the card I added a few silver glitter sequins, matted my cardstock black and adhered it to a white card base. Okay, that's a lie. For my pictures I only lay the pieces on top of a card base and then store the finished "cards" unmounted. That's why the cardstock is still pretty wonky here. When I'll glue everything on a card base later, like when I want to give away the card, that will look nice and flat.

In einer kleinen priavten Facebook-Gruppe gibt es jeden zweiten Samstag just for fun eine kleine Challenge. Diesmal lautet das Thema "Lieblingsstempel/Lieblingsstempelhersteller". Ich konnte mir ja nicht verkneifen, gleich mal zu kommentieren, dass das ja wie "Lieblingskind auswählen" ist. Und ich habe weder den einen Lieblingsstempel noch den einen Lieblingsstempelhersteller. Nun war es so, dass just an dem Tag meine Bestellung des neuen LawnFawn Releases bei mir ankam. Und so habe ich einiges daraus verwendet, um diese Babykarte zu werkeln.

I am a member of a small priveter Facebook group of stampers and every other saturday we have a challenge, just for fun. The current theme is "favorite stamp/favorite stamp brand". I couldn't resist commenting, that that's like picking your favorite child. And I don't have that one favorite stamp or that one favorite brand of stamps. Well, exactly that day my order from LawnFawn's new  release was delivered and so I used some of these to make this baby card.

 

Eines der DT-Mitglieder von LawnFawn hatte die Stickmäuse einen Elefanten nähen lassen. Die Idee fand ich so süß, dass ich hier meine eigene Version davon gemacht habe.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich den neuen Stitched Moon and Stars Backdrop Portrait aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China und Uncharted Mariner eingefärbt. Anschließend habe ich einige wenige Spritzer goldener Metallic Watercolor aufgebracht und den Cardstock von hinten gelb hinterlegt, so dass man die ausgestanzten Sterne und Monde schön sehen kann.

Für den Boden habe ich den Stitched Woodgrain Backdrop ebenfalls aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Distress Oxide Lost Shadow und Hickory Smoke eingefärbt. Einen Teil davon habe ich dann als Boden unten auf den Sternen-Hintergrund geklebt.

 

One of LawnFawn's DT members used the new sewing mice and let them sew a stuffed elephant. I loved that idea so much that I made my own version of it.

For the background I die cut the new Stitched Moon and Stars Backdrop Portrait from white cardstock and inked it with Distress Oxide Salvaged Patina, Broken China and Uncharted Mariner. Then I flicked just a bit of gold metallic watercolor onto the cardstock and put some yelllow cardstock behind the background so the cut out moons and stars are nicely visible. 

For the floor I cut the Stitched Woodgrain Backdop from white cardstock and inked it with Distress Oxide Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke. Then I used a piece cut from it as the floor and adhered it onto the background.

 

 Auf den oberen Teil des Hintergrunds habe ich zuerst Wolken, gemacht aus Vellum mit der Platform Pop-Up Cloud Inserts Stanze, aufgeklebt. 

Dann habe ich noch ein Banner in aqua und gelb aufgehängt. Das ist mit den Fishtail Banner Borders gemacht. Die gelben Fähnchen habe ich von unten ein wenig mit Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade eingefärbt, außerdem habe ich die Schnur mit einem Copicmarker dunkelbraun angemalt. 

Hinter dem Banner und auch dem Elefant unten konnte ich die Klebestellen des Vellums gut verstecken - bis auf den kleinen Punkt an der obersten Wolke, die hat sich immer nach oben gerollt und musste gebändigt werden.

Onto the upper half of the card I first attached some clouds, cut from vellum with the Platform Pop-Up Cloud Inserts die.

Then I hung up a banner in aqua and yellow. I used the Fishtail Banner Borders, inked the bottom of the yellow banners with a bit of Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade and used a Copic marker to color the string a dark brown. 

Behind the banner and also the elephant's head I was able to hide the glue that was used to attach the clouds. Well, except for that one dot behind the smallest cloud. I always curled up and needed to be glued down.

Für meine Szene habe ich wieder Stempel aus vielen verschiedenen Sets kombiniert. Neben dem neuen Sew Very Mice Set und dem Elefant sowie der kleinen sitzenden Maus am Boden aus dem Elephant Parade Set habe ich noch die Sets Just Add Glitter (Schere und Garnknäuel), den Hocker aus dem Set Purrfectly Wicked sowie weitere Mäuse aus  den Sets Dandy Day, Bubbles of Joy und Merry Mice benutzt. Außerdem habe ich dem Elefanten eine Krone aufgesetzt, ein Herz an den Rüssel geklebt und das Auge durch einen Knopf ersetzt. Die Nähte habe ich mit einem schwarzen Fineliner per Hand dazugemalt.

Für den Text hatte ich versucht, ein Hello Baby  mit gelber Sticktwist auf helltürkis farbenen Cardstock zu sticken. Für Kreuzstich war der Text zu lang, also habe ich dieese Loops ausprobiert, aber das sah sehr nach "Erstklässler sticken" aus. Also habe ich mich doch für Texte aus dem Set Elephant Parade entschieden und sie weiß auf helltürkis farbenen Cardstock embosst. 

Für das Baby habe ich die Buchstaben mit dem Oliver's  Stitched ABCs aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt, wieder mit Spiced Marmalade schattiert und dann mit einem Fineliner die Nähte vorsichtig nachgefahren. So passen die Buchstaben optisch zum Näh-Thema. 

For my scene I once again combined images from quite a few differents sets. Besides the new Sew Very Mice and the elephant and the small sitting mouse on the floor from the Elephant Parade set I also used images from the sets Just Add Glitter (scissors and twine in the mouse's handsd), the stool from the Purrfectly Wicked set and some more mice from the sets Dandy Day, Bubbles of Joy and Merry Mice. I also added a crown to the elephant's head, put  a little heart behind his trunk and replaced the eye with a button. For the stitches I used a black fineliner.

I really had tried to do some real stitching for my text and stiched a hello baby with yellow yarn onto light aqua cardstock. The text was too long to do cross stitching, so I tried those loops. But it really looked like "kindergardener stitching for the first time". And so I changed my mind and went with stamps from the set Elephant Parade, white heat embossed onto aqua cardstock.

For the word baby I die cut the letters with the Oliver's Stitched ABCs from yellow cardstock, shaded the bottom with Spiced Marmalade and then carefully re-drew the stitches with a black fineliner. Now the letters go perfectly with the sewing theme.

Wie fast immer habe ich dickes und dünnes 3D Tape verwendet, um die Karte zusammenzusetzen und habe dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

As most of the times I used thin and thick foam tape to put my card together, than attached everything to a white note card.

Watercolor Card

Momentan bin ich ein wenig am Rumprobieren, mal andere Techniken etc. Und so ist diese Watercolor Card entstanden - und das auch noch komplett ohne Stanzteile!

At the moment I am playing a bit with all the stuff I have, trying new techniques etc. And so made this watercolor card - and it's also without any die cuts!

Ich habe Watercolor Cardstock etwas kleiner als mein Kartenrohling zugeschnitten und zuerst den hellblauen Hintergrund mit viel Wasser aufgetragen. 

I cut a piece of watercolor cardstock a bit smaller than my card base and then created the background first with lots of water.

Der Vogel ist ein Stempel, den ich mir vor kurzem bei Action mitgenommen habe. Den habe ich mit Versafine Nocturne Black gestempelt und dann mit den ZIG Markern in Grün-, Blau- und Lilatönen coloriert. 

This bird image is a die I recently bought at a Dollar store. I stamped it with Versafine Nocturne Black and then colored it with my ZIGs in greens, blues and purple.

Mit einem ganz feinen Pinsel habe ich, nachdem die Farbe getrocknet war, noch Liquid Pixie Dust von InkOn3 pur in ganz kleinen Punkten auf das Motiv aufgetragen und so dem Vogel etwas Struktur und Glitter gegeben.

After the color had dried I added tiny dots of Liquid Pixie Dust by InkOn3 onto the image using a very fine brush, giving the bird some structure and shimmer.

Das tolle Blumenmotiv ist aus dem Chrysanthemum Slimline Stempelset von PinkFresh - auch das habe ich mit den ZIG Markern coloriert. Die Blütenblätter sind in dunklem Lila mit hell-lila farbenen Blütenspitzen.

Für den Text habe ich Stempel aus den Sets Believe und Color von HoneybeeStamps kombiniert und die Worte weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich sie mit dünnem 3D Tape aufgeklebt.

The great floral image is from the Chrysanthemum Slimline stamp set by PinkFresh. Again I used my ZIGs to color it in, doing the petals in a dark purple with light red-purplish tips.

For the text I combined stamps from the stamp sets Believe and Color by HoneybeeStamps. I white heat embossed them onto strips of black cardstock, then adhered them with thin foam tape.

Vor dem Aufkleben der Textstreifen, habe ich die Motive noch mit Masking Tape abgedeckt und weiße Acrylfarbe auf den Hintergrund und anschließend ganz leicht auch über die Blume gespritzt.

Zum Schluss habe ich einige klar-irisierende Glitzersteine auf die Karte geklebt, alles mit 3D Tape hinterlegt und auf der Kartenbasis angebracht.

Before adhering the text strips I covered the images with masking tape and spritzed some white acrylic paint over the background, then also just a bit over the flower image.

To finish the card I added a few clear iridescent rhinestones and mounted it with foam tape to the card base.

Letztes Wochenende hatte Christine von Create a Smile in der Facebook-Gruppe zum Colorieren gegen das graue Wetter aufgerufen. Die Idee fand ich klasse, nun habe ich das colorierte Motiv auch endlich in eine Karte umgewandelt.

Last weekend Christine from Create a Smile started a "let's color against the grey weather challenge", just for fun. I  liked that idea and now finally turned the image into a card.

Für  den Hintergrund habe ich weißen Cardstock erst von unten links nach oben rechts dunkler werdend mit Distress Oxide Cracked Pistacchio, Lucky Clover und Rustic Wilderness gewischt und einige große Wassertropfen darauf verteilt. Dann habe ich den Fern Stencil und den Monstera Stencil verwendet und mit Pine Needles und Black Soot einige Blätter an die Kanten gewischt. Unten habe ich auch noch eine Grasbordüre mit Wald und Wiese Stencil aufgewischt, die sieht man aber wegen all dem Grün im Hintergrund nicht so toll. 

Der Text ist aus dem Stempelset Sahnehäubchen und weiß auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Ich musste ihn so weit nach links kleben - warum, seht Ihr gleich noch.

For the background I inked up a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Cracked Pistacchio, Lucky Clover and Rustic Wilderness, starting light at the bottom left corner and getting darker to the top right corner, and spritzed some large drops of water on top. Then I used the Fern stencil and the Monstera stencil to ink some leaves to the edges with Distress Oxide Pine Needles and Black Soot. I also added a grass border along the bottom edge, but there's so much green on this background that it's hardly visible. 

The text is from the german version of the Cream Topping stamp set and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. Directly translated it means "let your soul hang loose" - which I'm sure doesn't make any sense in english and is a german way to say "lean back and chill out". But due to the "hang loose" in the german version it went great with the image. I had to attach the text that far to the left - I'll show you why a little later in the post.

Das süße Beuteltier habe ich in ein Marsupilami verwandelt. Um den Comic-Stil zu unterstreichen, habe ich die Schatten im Motiv mit einem W-Marker gemacht und das Gelb nur leicht von hell nach dunkel laufen lassen. Coloriert habe ich mit Copics. Dann habe ich das süße Tierchen auf den Ast aus dem Stempelset Hey Honey gesetzt. Damit auch genug Platz ist, habe ich ihn mit einem schwarzen Fineliner etwas verlängert. 

Neben dem Ast an die obere und rechte Kante habe ich jeweils noch ein gestanztes Monsterablatt aufgeklebt.

Den Schwanz habe ich vom Körper getrennt, so dass es so aussieht, als würde er hinter dem Ast herunterhängen. Das  war aber nicht der eigentliche Grund.

The cute marsupial is turned into a Marsupilami here - I'm sure you all know the comic seriers. To stick with the comic style I used a W-tone marker for  the shadow and only shaded the yellow lightly. I used Copics to color the image. Then I put  the little critter onto the branch from the Hey Honey stamp set. To make enough room for the animal I used a black fineliner to make the branch a bit longer.

Next to the branch I adhered a die cut monstera leave to the top and the right edge.

I cut off the animal's tail from the body so it looks like it's hanging down behind the branch. But that wasn't the only reason.

Ich konte einfach nicht widerstehen, den Schwanz des Marsupilami hin- und herbaumeln zu lassen! Dafür habe ich am oberen Ende des Schwanzes - hinter dem Körper versteckt - einen kleinen Kreis angeklebt, an dem der Schwanz befestigt ist. Dann habe  ich von hinten ein rundes Foampad angeklebt, dieses durch einen kleinen Kreis, den ich aus dem Hintergrund gestanzt habe, gesteckt und von hinten wieder einen gestanzten Kreis gegengeklebt. Und damit der Schwanz auch schön schwingt, habe ich an den hinteren Kreis noch einen Streifen Cardstock angebracht, an dessen Ende ich eine Unterlegscheibe als Gewicht angeklebt habe. 

Zum Schluss habe ich den Hintergrund mit dickem 3D Tape auf schwarzen Cardstock und dann alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

I just couldn't resist to make the marsupil's tail move back and forth.

I attached a little circle to the top of the tail - it's hidden behind the  body - then put a small round foam pad to the back of the circle. I stuck that through a small whole that I cut into the background and stuck another cardstock circle to the other  side of the foam pad. To make sure the tail is moving nicely I attached a strip of cardstock to the back circle and glued a washer to the bottom end as a weight.

To finish the card, I attached the background with thick foam tape to some black cardstock and then adhered everything to a white note card.

Und weil der Schwanz natürlich nicht so ruppig schwingt, wie auf dem GIF oben, habe ich hier noch ein ganz kurzes Video.

Sommer?

Ich weiß, es ist noch ein wenig früh für den Sommer, aber träumen kann man doch immer davon, oder? So wie die Möwe auf meiner Karte, die ich heute auf dem Stampcorner Blog zeige. Wobei die es fast ein wenig übertrieben hat...

Hello everyone!

I know, it's pretty early for summer, but you can always dream of it, right? Just like the seagull on this card, that I'm sharing over on the Stampcorner Blog today. Well, the seagull might have gone a bit far here, though....

Da steht sie nun, mit Schwimmring, im Regen am Strand und musste den Sonnenschirm kurzerhand als Regenschirm zweckentfremden.

Ich habe hier für den Hintergrund ein Stück weißen Cardstocks mit Distress Oxide Stormy Sky und Weathered Wood für den Himmel eingefärbt. 

Mit einer Wolkenborder-Stanze habe ich ein weiteres Stück weißen Cardstocks ausgestanzt und mit Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke eingefärbt.

Für den Strand habe ich ein Stück craft farbenen Cardstock mit der Stitched Wavy Backdrop Portrait Stanze von LawnFawn ausgeschnitten und hier nur die unteren drei Segmente verwendet. Die Ränder der einzelnen "Hügel" habe ich mit Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap gewischt, dannn habe ich goldene und braune Metallic Watercolor über den Cardstock gespritzt, um ihm eine etwas sandige Textur zu geben. Anschließend habe ich noch Palmen aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics coloriert.

Und dann wurde es etwas tricky, denn ich wollte, dass die Möwe zwar im Regen steht, der Schirm die Regentropfen aber von der Möwe abhalten. Erst habe ich meinen Hintergrund in das Misti gelegt und den Rain Backdrop von WhimsyStamps mit Versamark aufgestempelt. Dann habe ich Embossing Glaze Lost Shadow aufgestreut und geschmolzen. Dann habe ich den Strand mitsamt den Palmen so ins Misti gelegt, dass die Regentropfen später vom Hintergrund zum Strand fortlaufend sind. Mittig habe ich den Bereich, unter dem sich später der Regenschirm befindet, bis auf die unterste Strandlage mit Masking Tape abgedeckt und die Regentropfen auf die selbe Weise aufgetragen. Ganz zum Schluss habe ich dann noch das Motiv and seine Stelle im Strand gelegt, den Strand weggenommen und auch nur auf den Regenschirm die Regentropfen aufembosst. Setzt man später alles wieder zusammen, scheint die Möwe sowie die Bereiche um sie herum, durch den Schirm vom Regen geschützt zu sein.

Here I inked up a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Stormy Sky and Weathered Wood for my sky. 

Using a cloud border die I cut the clouds from another piece of white cardstock and inked those up with Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke.

For the beach I die cut the Stitched Wavy Backddrop Portrait by LawnFawn from some kraft colored cardstock and only used the three wavy areas at the bottom. I inked the edges of the cardstock, also behind the individual wavy layers, with Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap, then spritzed some gold and brown metallic watercolor onto the cardstock to give it a sandy texture/look. Then I also die cut some palm trees from white cardstock and colored them with Copics.

And then I had to think in layers, because I wanted the seagull to stand in the rain but the umbrella should protect the seagull from it. First I laid the background into my Misti and stamped the Rain Backdrop by WhimsyStamps with Versamark. I covered it with Distress Glaze Lost Shadow and melted the powder. Then I put the beach with the palm trees into my Misti, making sure the bottom and sides are exactly where those edges of the background were previously. I covered the area, that will be under the umbrella later, with some maskind tape and stamped the raindrops in the exact same way as I did on the sky. In the end I laid the image onto the area where it will be later on the card, removed the beach layer and embossed the raindrops only onto the umbrella. When you put everything back together later, the seagull and the area around it seem to be protected from the rain.

Möwe und Sonnen-, äh Regenschirm, sind aus dem Stempelset Sommer? von Stampcorner. Ich habe beide mit schwarzer Tinte gestempelt, mit Copics coloriert und Highlights mit einem weißen Gelstift hinzugefügt. Dann habe ich sie ausgeschnitten und entlang der Stempellinien mit einem Cutter kleine Schlitze an die Stellen geschnitten, durch die ich den Stiel des Sonnenschirms stecken wollte, so dass die Möwe sie unter die Flügel geklemmt zu haben scheint. Das alles habe ich natürlich gemacht, bevor ich die Regentropfen hinzugefügt habe.

Der Text kommt im selben Stempelset - ich habe den Stempel vorsichtig mit einer Schere zerschnitten, so dass ich ihn auf der Karte aufteilen konnte. das Sommer? auf die Wolken, den Rest auf den Sand unter der Möwe. Da ich mit schwarzem Embossingpulver irgendwie auf Kriegsfuß stehe und zu viel Arbeit in die Karte gesteckt hatte um sie am Schluss noch zu "versauen", habe ich die Texte jeweils mit Versafine Clair Nocturne gestempelt und dann mit klarem Embossingpulver überzogen. 

Seagull and umbrella are from the Sommer? stamp set by Stampcorner. I stamped both with black ink, colored them with Copics and added some highlights with a white gel pen. Then I cut them out and used an exacto knife to cut little slits along the stamplines of the seagull where I wanted to weave through the stick of the umbrella so it looks like the seagull tucked it under her wings. Of course I did all of that before adding the raindrops to the umbrella.

The text means "Summer? I am ready for it!". I carefully cut the stamp, that comes in the same stamp set as the images, apart to be able to stamp part of it onto the clouds, the rest onto the sand under the seagull. Since me and black embossing powder don't have the best of a relationship and I had already put too much work into the card to ruin it now I stamped the texts with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and then put clear embossing powder on top. 

Um die Karte fertigzustellen, habe ich die Wolken sowie die Lage Sand samt Motiven mit dünnem 3D Tape auf den Himmel geklebt und nur hinter den Sonnenschirm dickeres 3D Tape gesetzt, so bildet der die höchste Lage und die Szene wirkt sehr realisitsch. Dann habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

To finish the card, I attached the clouds and the layer with the sand and images to the sky with thin foam tape, putting thicker foam tape only behind the umbrella. This way the umbrella is the highest layer and the scene looks pretty realistic. Then I adhered everything to a white card base.

Create a Smile Challenge Reminder

Ich hatte ja schon erwähnt, dass ich für die Februar Moodboard Challenge von Create a Smile eigentlich eine andere Karte gemacht hatte, die mir dann aber "zu wenig Moodboard" war. Abgesehen davon gefällt mir die Karte an sich aber wirklich gut. Und so zeige ich sie Euch heute als Challenge-Reminder. Und hier ist nochmal das Moodboard für Euch:

I had already mentioned, that I had made a different card for the february moodboard challenge by Create a Smile, than the one I posted when the challenge started. This one just wasn't "moodboard-y" enough, but except for that I really like how this card turned out. So I am sharing it with you as a challenge reminder today. And here's the moodboard again:

Könnt Ihr mich verstehen? Vogel und die Farben habe ich aufgegriffen, aber insgesamt war mir die Karte für das doch eher eisig-winterliche Moodboard zu frühlingshaft.

 Ich habe hier komplett auf einem Stück Watercolor Cardstock gearbeitet. Die Motive sind mit Jellyfish Ink von LawnFawn gestempelt und dann mit ZIG Markern und ein klein wenig Polychromos coloriert.

Can you understand my doubts? I picked up the bird and the colors from the moodboard, but the whole design seemed to spring-ish for this frosty and wintery moodboard.

Here I worked on one piece of watercolor cardstock. I stamped the images with Jellyfish Ink by LawnFawn, then colored them in with ZIG markers and a bit of Polychromos.

Die Motive habe ich jeweils maskiert - zuerst habe ich den Vogel aus dem Set Cardinal gestempelt, dann die Kirschblütenzweige aus dem Set Kirschzeit und zum Schluss links hinter den Vogel noch einen Teil der Clematis aus dem gleichnamigen Stempelset. 

Mir ist klar, dass ein Cardinal eigentlich rot ist, aber unter dem Motto "künstlerische Freiheit" habe ich Blau- und Orangetöne mit ein wenig schwarz gemischt, damit er auch zum Moodboard passt. 

Für die Highlights habe ich einen weißen Gelstift verwendet, die Blütenmitten der Kirschblüten habe ich mit einem schwarzen Fineliner gemacht.

Nach dem Colorieren habe ich die Masken wieder aufgeklebt und den Cardstock rund um die Motive leicht mit Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass gewischt. Dannn habe ich weiße Acrylfarbe und türkisfarbenne Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.

 

I did some masking to stamp the scene - I started with the bird from the Cardinal stamp set, then went on with the cherry branches from the Very Cherry set and then added part of the clematis from the Clematis stamp set behind the bird.

I know that cardinals are red, but under the motto of "artistic freedom" I used blues and oranges with a hint of black to make it match the moodboard.

For the highlights I used a white gel pen, the cherry blossom centers I re-drew with a black fineliner. 

After I had finished the coloring, I put the masks back onto the images and inked up the cardstock around them with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass, then spritzed some white acrylic paint and some aqua metallic watercolor onto the cardstock.

 

Den Text aus dem Stempelset Endlich Frühling habe ich weiß auf ein Stück schwarzen Cardstocks embosst und ganz zum Schluss aufgeklebt. 

Dann habe ich noch einige klare Glitzersteine rund um die Motive verteilt, alles schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.

The text  - it smells like spring - I white heat embossed onto a strip of black cardstock and attached it to the card as the final step.

Then I glued down a few clear rhinestones around the images, matted the cardstock black and attached everything to a white note card.
