Hallo Ihr Lieben!
Ich bin ja ein totaler Meer-Mensch. Ich liebe und brauche das Meer - bitte dort, wo es schön warm ist - und deswegen sind wir auch mehrmals im Jahr dort. Eigentlich. Aus bekannten Gründen fällt das dieses Jahr flach. Ich weiß, wir könnten fahren. Aber bei den Einschränkungen möchten wir einfach nicht. Oder möchten schön, aber finden es besser, wenn nicht. Wie auch immer, ich tue mich dieses Jahr mit maritimen Karten schwer, denn sie verstärken meine Sehnsucht noch. Aber natürlich konnte ich auch an den vielen tollen Meeres-Stempelsets, die es jeden Sommer gibt, vorbei. Und so habe ich heute eine Unterwasser-Karte gemacht, die ich auf dem Stampcorner Blog zeige. Da ich nicht so oft tauche oder schnorkle, ist das Meeres-Thema für mich hier gerade noch aushaltbar.

I am a total ocean person. I love and need it - please in a warm spot only - and so we go there several times a year. Usually. Due to well known reasons we didn't go this year. I know, we could go, but I simply don't want with all the restrictions. Well, I'd want to but we've decided it would be better not to is actually more true. However, I am having a really hard time making ocean themed cards this year since they make me miss the sea even more. But of course I also wasn't able to skip all those amazing ocean themed stamp sets they come out summer after summer. And so I've made an underwater scene card today and am sharing it over at the Stampcorner Blog today. Since I don't go diving or snorkeling very often this is the kind of ocean themed card I can stand making - barely.
Angefangen hat alles mit der Idee, die neue Castle Stanze von LawnFawn als Unterwasserschloss zu gestalten. Und 3D sollte es werden. Zuerst dache ich an eine Card in a Box, aber dafür war das Schloss dann doch zu groß. Und so habe ich diese Variante gewählt - keine Ahnung, wie die nun wieder heißt. Oben und unten befinden sich Stege quer in der Karte, auf denen die Deko angebracht ist und die der Karte Stabilität geben.
Ich habe überlegt, wie so ein Unterwasserschloss aussehen könnte - und beschlossen, dass es aus Perlmutt gemacht sein muss. Also habe ich hellen Schimmercardstock verwendet und mit Copics ein paar Schattierungen aufgetupft. Türen und Fenster sind aus schimmernden Korallen und auch die Zinnen schimmern. Sind bestimmt aus besonderen, gepressten Algen. ;)
Ich habe hier vier verschiedene Stempelsets von LawnFawn verwendet: Ocean Shell-fie, Mermaid for you, Ahoy Matey und Little Dragon (Text). Aus den Sets habe ich die verschiedenen Motive abgestempelt, die ich für meine Karte verwenden wollte, mit Copics coloriert und ausgeschnitten. Die Korallen und hohen Unterwasserpflanzen sind vollflächige Stempel. Die Korallen habe ich mit Archival Ink Spiced Marmelade komplett abgestempelt und dann den unteren Bereich mit Bright Tangelo nochmal darübergestempelt, so haben sie einen Farbverlauf. Das gleiche habe ich mit den Pflanzen gemacht, hier habe ich Versafine Spanish Moss und Shady Lane (Clair) benutzt.
It all started with the idea of using the new Castle die by LawnFawn as an underwater castle. And I wanted a 3D card. First I thought of making a Card in a Box, but the castle was simply too large for that. An so I went with this kind of card - and I have no idea what this is called. There are strips of cardstock across the top and bottom inside of the card that are used to glue the decorations down and keep the card sturdy.
I thought of what an underwater castle would be made of - and decided, they must use mother of pearl to build it. So I've die cut the pieces from cream shimmer cardstock and added a few shadows with Copics. Windows and doors are made from shimmery corals and also the crenelations are made from a shimmery green material - I am sure they used a super special pressed algas. ;)
I've combined four different stamp sets by LawnFawn on this card: Ocean Shell-fie, Mermaid for you, Ahoy Matey and Little Dragon (text). I've stamped the images I wanted to use from all those sets, colored them with Copics and cut them out. The corals and larger underwater plants are solid stamps. I've used Archival Ink Spiced Marmelade to stamp them and then Bright Tangelo only inking up the lower part of the stamp. This way I ended up with a two-tone colored corals. I did the same with the sea weed using Versafine Spanish Moss and Shady Lane (Clair).
An den Querstreifen im unteren Bereich der Karte habe ich den Sandboden aufgeklebt Dafür habe ich mit den Stitched Snow Drifts Stanzen von MFT aus hellbraunem Cardstock Streifen gestanzt und diese dann von unten her mit Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy gewischt. Dann habe ich mit der selben Farbe sowie Ground Espresso einige Spritzer aufgespritzt. Vor und hinter diesen Sandboden-Streifen habe ich dann die colorierten Motive angeklebt.
Einige der Motive sehen so aus, als würden sie frei in der Karte schweben. Dafür habe ich an den Querstreifen oben in der Karte, die ich versetzt zu denen unten angebracht habe, ein paar schmale Streifen Klarsichtfolie angebracht, sie von der Länge her passend zugeschnitten und dort diese Motive wie z. B. das Seepferdchen und die Meerjungfrau, aufgeklebt. Durch die versetzt angebrachten Streifen bekommt die Karte noch mehr Dimension.
I've glued the sandy ground to the strips at the bottom inside of the card. I've die cut different strips from light brown cardstock with the Stitched Snow Drifts dies by MFT and then added some Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy to their bottoms. Then I've used the same color and Ground Espresso to add small speckles. To the front and back of those strips I've glued the colored images.
A few of the images seem to float freely inside the card. To get that effect I've glued a few thin strips of transparency to the strips inside the top of the card, cut them the lengths I wanted them to be and attached these images - like the sea horse and the mermaid - to them. Those strips at the top are glued to the card/frame in different positions compared to the ones in the bottom. That adds even more dimension to the scene.

Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück weißen Cardstock mit Distress Oxide Speckled Egg, Peacock Feathers und Chipped Sapphire eingefärbt. Zuvor habe ich die kleinen Fischschwärme aufgestempelt, beim Wischen mit Masking Fluid abgedeckt und anschließend coloriert. Die Sonnenstrahlen sind mit ganz wenig Distress Oxide Scattered Straw durch die Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil von MFT aufgewischt. Dann habe ich diesen Cardstock auf die Rückseite der Karte - oder vielleicht passt Rahmen hier besser - aufgeklebt und auch hier noch einige Motive aufgeklebt.

For the background I've inked up a piece of white cardstock with Distress Oxide Speckled Egg, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. Before I did that I've stamped the small fish, covered them with masking fluid to create the background and colored them after the background was done. The sun beams are made with just a hint of Distress Oxide Scattered Straw and the Sunrise Radiating Rays stencil by MFT. Then I've glued the piece of cardstock to the back of my card/frame and also added a few more images there.
