Am Samstag kam, prompt wie immer, meine Bestellung aus dem neuen Release von Create a Smile bei mir an und natürlich wollte ich sie sofort einweihen. Nun muss ich gestehen, dass ich am Abend zuvor recht lang in einem Club war. Das passiert nicht mehr sehr oft, man wird ja älter. Und das war wohl auch der Grund, warum mein Kopf nicht so fix wie gewohnt gearbeitet hat. Wie gut, dass in der Bestellung auch das nächste Karten-Rezept von Christine enthalten war. So war eine Grundidee vorhanden und den Rest habe ich dann doch ganz einfach geschafft.

Saturday I recieved, quickly as usual, my order from the latest release by Create a Smile and of course I wanted to use it right away. Well, I have to admit that I went to club the night before and it was a long nicht. This doesn't happen very often anymore, I'm getting old(er). But I guess that's why my brain wasn't working as fast as it does on normal days. Luckily there was also the new card recipe by Christine included in the order. That gave me a basic idea and I put together this card quite easily.
Ich würde die Karte Spotlight-Karte nennen. Sie ist hauptsächlich grau, nur ein hervorgehobener Bereich ist coloriert. Die Idee kannte ich, aber wie so vieles war sie einfach in Vergessenheit geraten. Und dabei ist sie echt toll und gar nicht kompliziert umzusetzen.
Da ich zu dem Motiv (hauptsächlich) in Grautönen einen bunten Hintergrund unpassend fand, habe ich ein Stück Watercolor Cardstock genommen und mittig im oberen Bereich mit Ditress Oxide Hickory Smoke durch Ink Smooshing einen sanften, grauen Hintergrund gefertigt.
I'd call this a Spotlight Card. It's mainly grey, only a small highlighted area is colord in. I knew this idea, but like so many other great ones I simply forgot about it. But making a card like this is so much fun and really easy.
Since I thought, a colored background wouldn't work with the (mainly) grey image I did some ink smooshing in the upper center of a piece of watercolor cardstock using Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke.
Schon während der Sneaks habe ich mich in den Hasenpopo aus dem Set Hasenbande verliebt und so stand fest, dass ich den als erstes benutzen wollte. Nur, wo sollte er rausschauen? Der Umzugskarton aus dem letzten Adventskalender wäre super gewesen, aber ich kaufe keine Bastel-Adventskalender mehr. Also muss ich warten, bis die Motive einzeln erhältlich sind, und das dauert natürlich. Ich habe damit kein Problem, aber hier musste ich mich also auf die Suche nach einer Alternative machen. Gefunden habe ich sie dann in der Treasure Chest Stanze. Die habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und, so wie alle Elemente hier, mit Copics coloriert.
Neben dem Hasenpo habe ich noch gaaanz viele Möhren sowie ein Ei aus demselben Set abgestempelt, coloriert und ausgeschnitten. Motive ausschneiden ist ja zum Glück ein No-Brainer, das geht auch im Halbschlaf....
Zusätzlich habe ich aus dem ebenfalls neuen Set Katzen Tatzen die Gedankenblase verwendet. Eigentlich ist in ihr ein Herz, das habe ich vor dem Abstempeln aus dem Stempel herausgeschnitten und stattdessen das Frage- und das Ausrufezeichen aus dem Set Klein und Fein hineingestempelt.
Als Boden musste eines der Essential Modern Ovals von Spellbinders herhalten - die Ovale aus dem Shadows und Flowers Set waren einfach zu schmal und sahen unter der Schatztruhe komisch aus. Außerdem habe ich aus rotem Cardstock vier Ringe mit einer der Stitched Circle Frames gestanzt, der später den coloriereten Bereich der Karte hervorheben sollte.
Ich habe den Hasen kopfüber in die Schatztruhe gesteckt und viele Möhren drumherum verteilt. Und da ist er nun, der kleine Hase, und sucht wie verrückt zwischen all den Möhren nach dem Osterei. Einige Möhren fliegen sogar schon durch die Luft, weil er sie herauswirft. Dabei liegt das Ei doch gut sichtbar neben der Truhe.... ;)
Already during the sneak week I fell in love with this bunny butt from the Hasenbande set and so I knew, that's what I wanted to use first. But, what did I want him to dive into? The moving box from last year's advent calendar would have been perfect, but I don't buy crafty advent calendars anymore and so I have to wait until the stamps are available individually. And that may take some time. I am fine with it, but it meant, that I have to look for something else. I found this something else in the Treasure Chest die. I die cut it from white cardstock and colored it with Copics, like I did all the elements on this card.
Beside the bunny butt I also stamped a lot of carrots and an egg from the same set, colored them and cut them out. Luckily fussy cutting images is a no brainer and is also possible half asleep....
I also used the thought bubble from the also new Katzen Tatzen set. Originally there's a heart in it, I cut that out of the stamp before stamping it and used an exclamation and a question mark from the Klein und Fein stamp set instead.
As the ground I used one of the Essential Modern Ovals by Spellbinders - the ovals from the Shadows and Flowers die set were too thin and looked just wrong under the treasure chest.
I also die cut four rings from red cardstock using one of the Stitched Circle Frames die set, that will highlight the colored area later.
I put the bunny into the chest and surrounded him by carrots. And there he is now, this little bunny, digging deep into the chest searching desperately for an easter egg. He's even throwing some of them out! And all the time the easter egg is just there beside the chest.... ;)

Meine Truhe ist ja gestanzt und alle anderen Motive sind einzeln. Also konnte ich nicht, wie im Rezept eigentlich angegeben, den Teil, der coloriert werden soll, aus einer kompletten Stempelszene herausschneiden. Ich habe vor dem Colorieren alle Elemente zusammengesetzt und mir den Kreis mit einem Bleistift markiert. So wusste ich, welchen Bereich ich bunt colorieren musste. Darum herum habe ich dann die vier gestackten Ringe aus rotem Cardstock geklebt. Da die Truhe höher als mein Hintergrund ist, habe ich diesen Teil von zwei der Ringe weggeschnitten, so dass er flach liegt.
Der Text ist aus dem auch neuen Stempelset Frühlingsgrüße. Ich fand, der passt nicht nur zum Eier-suchenden Hasen, sonder auch prima zur Kreisform. Also habe ich ihn einfach mit schwarzer Tinte direkt auf den Watercolor Cardstock gestempelt.
My treasure chest and all the other elements are individual pieces. So I wasn't able to cut the area, that needed to be colored, from a whole scene like listed in the recipe. I put my scene together prior to the coloring and used a pencil to mark the shape of the circle to know, which area to highlight. Around it I then glued the stacked circles. Since the chest is higher than the background cardstock I cut off part of two of the circles to have the frame lay flat.
The text means "happy egghunt". I think, it does not only work with the szene but also with the circle shape of the frame. So I used some black ink to stamp it directly onto the watercolor cardstock.
Ich war ja versucht, ein paar Steinchen oder ähnliches als Deko aufzukleben. Aber das hätte die Aufmerksamkeit von der hervorgehobenen Stelle abgelenkt. Also habe ich alles schwarz gemattet und auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt. Ursprünglich wollte ich den über den Cardstockrand hinausragenden Bereich des Rahmens wegschneiden, da er aber so perfekt auf den schwarzen Cardstock passte, habe ich in einfach stehen lassen.
I was really tempted to add a few rhinestones or other decorations. But that would only have taken away the attention from the highlihted area. So I simply matted the cardstock black and adhered it to a white note card. I also had planned to cut off the part of the circle, that hangs over the edge of the background. But since it fits the black mat so perfectly, I just kept it.
