Was wäre ein gedeckter Weihnachtstisch ohne Kerzen? Oder seid Ihr vielleicht noch auf der Suche nach einer schnell gemachten Kleinigkeit - für die Nachbarin, den Postboten oder...? Ich möchte Euch heute zeigen, wie Ihr auf Kerzen stempeln könnt.
You can use a lot of care for decorating your table - if there are no candles there will be something missing. Or probably you are on the look out for a fast and easy made treat - for your neighbour, the teacher, the mail man...? I want to show you how to stamp on candles.
Ihr braucht:
weißes Seidenpapier
Buntstifte
Stempelkissen oder Marker
etwas Backpapier
Heißluftfön
Kerze (Ihr könnt auch eine farbige Kerze nehmen, zu dunkel sollte sie aber nicht sein, da sonst das Motiv nicht mehr gut erkennbar ist)
You´ll need:
white tissue paper
pencils
ink pad or markers
some wax paper
heat gun
candle (you can use a colored one as well but make sure it isn´t too dark or your image won´t be seen well)
In allen englisch-sprachigen Anleitungen wird "tissue paper" verwendet - was laut Wörterbuch Papiertaschentücher sind. Nun, Ihr könnt auch damit stempeln (dann, wie bei der Serviettentechnik) nur die oberste Lage verwenden, colorieren ist damit aber nicht möglich und es kann passieren, daß die Tinte verläuft. Mit "tissue paper" ist Seidenpapier gemeint - das bekommt Ihr in Schreibwarenläden oder evtl. auch in Eurem Blumenladen.
Wenn Ihr Euch das Seidenpapier genau anschaut und mal mit dem Finger über die Oberfläche streicht, werde Ihr feststellen, daß die Seiten unterschiedlich sind: Eine Seite ist glatt, die andere etwas rauer. Stempelt auf die glatte Seite, sonst kann es passieren, daß die Tinte durch die Fasern verläuft.
If you have a close look at the tissue paper you´ll notice that it has different surfaces: it´s smooth on one side and a bit more raugh on the other. Use the smooth side to stamp on or your ink may bleed.
Stempelt Euer Motiv auf das Seidenpapier. Für ein buntes Motiv könnt Ihr den Stempel auch mit Markern einfärben, dann braucht Ihr nicht Colorieren.
Stamp your image on the tissue paper. For a colored image you can also color the stamp with markers so there won´t be any coloring needed.
Coloriert nun Euer Motiv. Ich verwende hierzu normale Buntstifte, da sie das Papier nicht aufweichen. Malt das Motiv ruhig kräftig aus denn die Farben werden beim Einschmelzen in die Kerze etwas blasser.
Now it´s time to color your image. I am using pencils here. Please notice that the colors will be lighter after melting your paper into the candle so make sure you use enough color.
Schneidet das colorierte Motiv aus. Hier braucht Ihr nicht sorgfältig zu sein - es ist sogar besser, wenn rund um das Motiv etwa 0,5 cm Papier stehen bleibt.
Cut around your image. No need to do this close to the outlines - it´s even better if you have some mm of paper left all around.
Legt das Motiv nun auf Eure Kerze und wickelt stramm einen Streifen Backpapier darüber. Macht den Streifen unbedingt lang genug, daß Ihr ihn am Ende wieder zusammenfassen könnt um die Kerze zu halten - sonst wird es sehr heiß an den Fingern! (Ich spreche aus schmerzhafter Erfahrung...LOL)
Nun erhitzt die Oberfläche mit dem Heißluftfön. Während des Erhitzens könnt Ihr sehen, daß sich die Oberfläche verändert - ähnlich wie beim Embossen. Sobald dies auf dem ganzen Motiv geschehen ist, schaltet den Fön aus. Dies dauert nicht lang, es soll nur eine dünne Schicht Wachs über dem Motiv liegen.
Zieht das Backpapier ab und drückt, falls nötig, den Rand der kerze mit dem Finger wieder glatt.
Ihr könnt das selbe Backpapier öfter verwenden, vergewissert Euch aber, daß keine Wachsreste an der Stelle kleben, die Ihr verwenden möchtet.
Now put the image on your candle and cover it with some wax paper. Make sure the wax paper ist big enough to be wrapped all around the candle and that you can use this to hold the candle - or you will burn yourself durint the melting process! (I know very good what I am talking about...LOL)
Heat the candle with your heat gun. You can see how the color of your image is changing even through the paper - like you would while heat embossing. If the color changed on the whole image turn off the heat gun. It won´t take a long time - we only want a thin coat of wax covering the image.
Pull of the wax paper and - if necessary - re-do the edges of the candle until it´s still warm by modelling it with your fingers.
Fertig ist Eure Kerze!
You´re finished - and have a beautiful decorated candle.

Bringt ein kleines Motiv auf einem Teelicht auf, umwickelt es mit einem Streifen Papier und klebt es auf eine ausgeschnittene Form aus Cardstock. Noch eine Schleife und eine kleine Dekoration daran - voila. Dies ist auch wunderschön als kleines Geschenk.
Stemp a small image and bring it on the top of a tea light. Wrap it with a strip of designers paper and put it on some cardstock cut in any shape you want to. Add a little bow/ribbon and some decoration and - voila. This is also a cute little give away...
