Heute zeige ich auf dem Stampcorner Blog mal keine Karte. Stattdesssen habe ich eine Matchbox gewerkelt - und sie kommt im weihnachtlichen Design daher.

Over on the Stampcorner Blog I'm not sharing a card today. Instead I've made a matchbox - and decorated very christmas-sy.
Hier habe ich wirklich farblich mal absolut klassisch in rot und grün gearbeitet. Eigentlich ja nicht meine Farbkombi, aber hier passte es einfach und gefällt sogar mir.
I went with a very classical color palette here: red and green. I usually don't like this color combo, but here it was just perfect and even I like it.
Für das Grundgerüst meiner Box habe ich die Matchbox-Stanze von Modascrap verwendet. Die hat mit etwa 6 x 8 cm eine tolle Größe. Beide Teile habe ich aus kraftfarbenem Cardstock gestanzt.
Die Hülle habe ich dann erst jeweils mit rotem Cardstock beklebt, darauf kam ein Stück des tollen rot-weiß gestreiften Designpapiers aus dem Cool Collab Paper Pad von MFT. Könnte mal bitte jemand einen Papierblock mit nur diesem Design entwerfen? Gerade für Weihnachten liebe ich es! Das Designpapier habe ich mit 3D Tape auf den roten Cardstock geklebt. Im Nachhinein hätte ich vielleicht etwas dünneres Tape verwenden sollen, denn der 3D Effekt ist schon sehr groß, aber es stört auch nicht wirklich.
Dekoriert habe ich die Oberseite der Hülle mit einem der Texte aus dem Magic Holiday Messages Stempelset von LawnFawn - und den Text mit einem Chalkboard-Look aufgebracht. Der hat es mir momentan angetan. Dabei wird der Stempel mit dem Frosted Crystal Embossingpulver von Ranger auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst und anschließend mit normaler Tafelkreide übermalt. Die wird mit dem Finger verwischt und so ergibt sich dieser tolle Tafel-Look. Die kleine Deko im Text war fast ein wenig zu fein für diese Technik. Aber ich habe die Ilexblätter einfach mit einem weißen Gelpen ausgemalt und bin nach dem Trocknen mit einem grünen Copic darübergegangen. Auf die gleiche Art, nur eben mit rotem Copic, habe ich auch das Wort happy ausgemalt. Die Beeren bei den Blättern habe ich mit roten Stickles gefüllt. So sind auch diese feinen Details gut erkennbar.
Den Text habe ich mit einer Kreisstanze ausgestanzt und mit dünnem 3D Tape auf einen gewellten Kreis, gestanzt aus grünem Cardstock, geklebt und ebenfalls mit dünnem 3D Tape auf die Box geklebt. Zuvor habe ich noch ein Stück schwarzes Twine um die Box gewickelt und leicht rechts versetzt zur Schleife gebunden.
Der zweite Text auf dem Deckel ist aus dem Stempelset Winter Village von LawnFawn und mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Dann habe ich den Text in drei Teile geschnitten und auf die Box geklebt.
For the base of my box I used the Matchbox die by Modascrap. With about 6 x 8 cm this has a great size. I've die cut both pieces from craft colored cardstock.
I glued some pieces of red cardstock onto all sides of the sleeve, then put a piece the great red and white striped patterned paper from the Cool Collab paper pad by MFT on top. Could someone make a paper pad made of just this pattern, please? I just love this design, especially for christmas. I used foam tape to glue the patterned paper down. Well, maybe I should have used the thinner one, because there's really lots of dimension, but it doesn't bother me.
I decorated the top of the sleeve with one of the sayings from the Magic Holiday Messages stamp set by LawnFawn - and did the chalkboard technique again. I just discovered this technique recently and just love it. The image gets heat embossed onto black cardstock with the Frosted Crystal embossing powder by ranger, then covered with regular school chalk. When you smudge it with your fingers you get this great look. The small pieces in this stamp were nearly a bit too detailed for this technique. So I used a white gel pen to color in the holly leaves. After that had dried I went over it with a green Copic marker. I did the same with the letters of the word happy - just using a red marker here. The berries next to the leaves got some red Stickles. Now also those fine details can be seen better.
I used some thin foam tape to glue the text, that I cut out with a circle die, onto a scalloped circle cut from green cardstock. Then I glued both onto the sleeve with thin foam tape again. Before I wrapped some black twine around the box and tied it to a bow.
The other sentiment on the sleeve is from the Winter Village stamp set by LawnFawn and white heat embossed onto black cardstock. I cut the text into three parts and glued those down.
Im Inneren der Matchbox ist aber kein Platz für ein Geschenk - ich habe dort eine kleine Weihnachtsnacht-Szene gestaltet. So macht auch der "from our home to yours" Text auf der Vorderseite mehr Sinn.
Inside the matchbox there's no room for gifts - I created a christmas night scene there. Now the "from our home to yours" on the sleeve makes even more sense.
Hier habe ich eines der Paper Village Häuser von Sizzix verwendet und in ein Weihnachtshaus verwandelt. Ich habe es aus dem dunkelbraunen Woodgrain-Cardstock von LawnFawn gestanzt und ganz leicht weiße Stempelfarbe aufgewischt, um die Struktur des Cardstocks mehr hervorzuheben.Tür und Fensterrahmen - die muss man per Hand zuschneiden, geht aber gut - sind aus weißem Cardstock gemacht.
Die Schleife an der Tür und die Lichterkette im Dachgiebel sind aus dem Build a House Christmas Add-On Stanzenset von LawnFawn. Die Lichter der Lichterkette habe ich aus Vellum gestanzt und mit Glitzerkleber überzogen. Die Form der Lichterkette ist etwas anders als die Dachform des Hauses, aber man kann sie ganz leicht in Form biegen.
Das Haus hätte gerade so in die Box gepasst - es hat mir aber nicht gefallen, dass es so vorne an der Kante stand. Deswegen habe ich die Seitenteile einfach halbiert und beide Häuserhälften ineinander geklebt.
Für den Schnee habe ich die Grid Paste Snowfall aus dem Holiday Texture Paste Set von Ranger benutzt. Den habe ich auf das Dach, den Boden und auch die beiden Tannenbäume, die ich seitlich des Hauses noch angebracht habe, aufgetragen.
Bei der Box selbst habe ich vor dem Zusammenkleben die Rückseite - also eigentlich den Boden der Box - sowie die später sichtbaren Seiten der Seitenteile mit Distress Oxide Chipped Sapphire und Black Soot gewischt. Ein brauner Himmel hätte komisch ausgesehen... Ich habe ein paar Wassertropfen und anschließend silberfarbene Metallic-Watercolor aufgespritzt.
Der Weihnachtsmann am Himmel ist aus dem Set Ready, Set, Snow von LawnFawn. Den Mond habe ich einfach mit einer kleinen Kreisstanze aus gelbem Cardstock gestanzt. Damit sie besser in die Szene passen, habe ich sie mit 3D Tape aufeinander und in die Box geklebt.
Zum Schluss habe ich noch ein paar kleine silberen Stern-Pailetten auf den Himmel geklebt.
Here I used one of the Paper Village houses by Sizzix to create a little christmas cottage. I've die cut it from the dark brown Woodgrain Cardstock by LawnFawn and lightly wiped a white ink pad over it to bring out the wooden structure a bit more. The door and the window frames - those have to be hand cut but it works pretty easily - are made from white cardstock.
The bow on the door and the string of lights under the roof are from the Build a House Christmas Add-On by LawnFawn. I've die cut the bulbs from Vellum and covered them with Stickles. The shape of this string of lights die is slightly different than the angle of the roof here but it can easily be bent a bit to make it fit.
The house would just have fit in the box - but I didn't like it sitting there are the very edge. So I've simply cut it apart and glued both halves of the house into each other.
For the snow I used the Grid Paste Snowfall from the Holiday Texture Paste set by Ranger. I put some onto the roof, the ground and also the two trees, that I added to both sides of the house.
Before I glued the box together I inked up the back - which is the bottom of the box - and those side pieces that are visible when the box is glued together with Distress Oxide Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. A brown sky would have looked a bit strange... I spirtzed some droplets of water and some silver metallic watercolor over the blue and black color.
Santa in his sleigh is from the Ready, Set, Snow stamp set by LawnFawn. For the moon I simply die cut a small circle from light yellow cardstock. To make both fit into the scene better I used thick foam tape to glue both on top of each other and onto the sky.
In the end I added a few tiny, silver, star shaped sequins to the sky.
Vielleicht habt Ihr auf dem allerersten Bild im Post bereits das "Ding" neben der Box gesehen. Das ist eine kleine Lampe. Und die braucht man, damit das Haus auch einladend leuchtet!
Maybe you've already seen the kind of strange "thing" next to the box on the very first picture in this post. It's a tiny lamp. And this is needed to make the house light up!
Ich habe in den Boden der Box sowie die Rückseite des Hauses ein Loch geschnitten, in das der vordere Teil der Lampe gerade eben hineinpasst. So leuchtet nur das Haus - und man kann auch erkennen, dass im Zimmer hinter dem linken Fenster bereits ein Weihnachtsbaum steht... Den habe ich aus schwarzem Cardstock gestanzt und einfach innen ins Haus geklebt.
I've cut a hole into the bottom of the box and the back of the house, making it so small that the lamp of this light can barely be put into. Now only the house is lit up - and that lets you see that there's a christmas tree in the room behind the left window. I've simply die cut that from black cardstock and glued it inside the box.
