Für die Challenge #194 hat sich LawnFawn ein ganz neues Thema einfallen lassen: Critters and Hobbies. Es sollen also Karten gemacht werden, die Tiere bei ihrem Hobby zeigen. Und ja, auch wenn man sie noch nicht sieht, natürlich kamen bei mir die Mäuse zum Einsatz!

For their challenge #194 LawnFawn came up with a brand new theme: critters and hobbies. We are asked to make cards that show critters at their hobbies. And yes, even if you can't see them yet, of course I used the mice!
Meine Mäuse schrauben in ihrer Freizeit gerne an ihren Autos und haben sich jetzt sogar eine eigene Werkstatt dafür eingerichtet...
Für das Werkstatt-Tor habe ich eine Pop-Up Slider Card gemacht, allerdings mit einer kleinen Änderung. Das lustige ist: im neuen Release von LawnFawn scheint es genau so eine Pop-Up Slider Stanze zu geben - von der wusste ich aber noch gar nichts, als ich die Karte letzten Dienstag gemacht habe. Ideengeber war hier vielmehr unser 1938 erbautes Garagentor, das tatächlich so aussieht und auch nach oben geschoben wird.
Ich habe mit einer der Stitched Rectangle Frames und Partial Diecutting den silbernen, unten offenen Rahmen aus mattem Metallic-Cardstock gestanzt. Das Innenleben besteht aus weißem Cardstock und ich habe mich grob an die Anleitung gehalten, die wir beim Stempeleinmaleins vor vielen Jahren mal hatten. Allerdings habe ich nicht nur mittig einen Falz, sondern mehrere in gleichmäßigen Abständen eingearbeitet, so dass eine Art Rolltor entsteht.
Das Tor habe ich mit Copics hellgrau schattiert und außerdem Nieten mit einem silbernen Gelstift und einem schwarzen Fineliner aufgemalt.
My mice love to tinker with their cars in their spare time and just set up their own car garage for it.
For the garage door I created a Pop-Up Slider Card with a little twist. Fun fact: it seems like LawnFawn will be releasing a Pop-Up Slider die with their new release next week, but I didn't know about that when I made the card last thursday. The idea came from our own garage door, that was built in 1938, looks exactly like the one on our card and even opens like it.
I used one of the Stitched Rectangle frames and did partial diecutting to create a silver frame with an open bottom from matte silver metallic cardstock. The inner piece is made from white cardstock and I kind of used the tutorial we did over at Stempeleinemaleins several years ago. But I did not add a score line just across the center of the white panel but did several in even distances to create some kind of rolling up door.
I used Copics to shade the door a light grey and also added rivets using a silver gel pen and a black fineliner.
Natürlich brauchte das Werkstatt-Tor eine passende Aufschrift. Ich habe die Worte Mouse und Garage mit den Stempelsets Quinn's ABCs und Quinn's Capital ABCs und schwarzer Tinte auf das Garagentor gestempelt und sie dann in einem rostigen Rot coloriert. Das kleinere Car Repair darunter ist mit dem Set Harold's ABCs gemacht.
Of course the garage door needed a text. I stamped the words Mouse and Garage with black ink and the stamp sets Quinn's ABCs and Quinn's Capital ABCs onto the garage door and colored them a rusty red. The smaller Car Repair underneath I stamped with Harold's ABCs.
Den silbernen Rahmen samt Tür habe ich dann nur rechts und links mit dickem 3D Tape aufgeklebt. Der Griff am Tor ist einfach aus einem schmalen Streifen schwarzen Cardstocks gemacht, den ich gefaltet und aufgeklebt habe.
Zieht man am schwarzen Halbkreis obenan der Karte, dann öffnet sich das Tor....
I adhered the silver frame with the door only on the left and right using a strip of thick foam tape.
The handle on the door is simply made from a thin strip of black cardstock, that I folded.
When you pull the black half circle at the top of the card, the door opens...
Hier seht Ihr drei der Mäuse dabei, wie sie den kleinen roten Flitzer polieren. So richtig gut ausgestattet sind die Mäuse noch nicht, deswegen müssen sie sich aufs Polieren und hin und wieder einen Reifenwechsel beschränken. Und ich gebe LawnFawn die Schuld dafür - ich brauche unbedingt Werkzeug in Mäusegröße! ;)
Ich habe das Innere der Werkstatt aus hellgrauem Cardstock gemacht und mit Distress Ink Pumice Stone und Hickory Smoke gewischt, um Boden und Wand etwas unterschiedlich zu gestalten. Dann habe ich silberne Metallic Watercolor und weiße Acrylfarbe aufgespritzt.
Here you can see three mice that are polishing a little red car. They aren't equipped too well in their garage, yet, and so they have to stick to polishing cars and changing wheels every now and then. And I totally blame LawnFawn for that - I really need some mice sized tools! ;)
I created the inside of the garage from light grey cardstock and inked it with Distress Ink Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke, to make the floor and wall look a bit different. Then I splattered silver metallic watercolor and white acrylic paint onto it.

Das Auto ist natürlich aus Car Critters. Die fleißigen Werkstattmäuse sind aus Veggie Happy, You Crow Girl und Apple-Solutely Awesome. Ich hatte bewusst nach Mäusen in Latzhosen gesucht, und die müssen natürlich blau sein. Bei der knienden Maus auf dem Autodach habe ich den Sonnenhut, der hier eher weniger gepasst hat, so gut es ging in eine Cap verwandelt.
Die Hebebühne besteht aus einem Teil der Tribüne aus dem Set Stadium Seating, das ich etwas gekürzt habe. Den Rest der Tribüne könnt Ihr im Hintergrund als Regal sehen.
Die Sprühflasche, der Eimer und die "Putztücher" - eigentlich unterteile eines Bodenwischers - sind aus dem Set Plan On It Spring Cleaning. Und die Reifen, die sich rechts nebendem Auto stapeln, sind eigentlich Sushi aus dem Set Plan On It Meal Planning... Bei dieser Karte musste ich mal so richtig um die Ecke denken.
The car is from Car Critters. The busy mechanic mice are from Veggie Happy, You Crow Girl and Apple-Solutely Awesome. I was looking for mice with pants and of course those had to be blue. The straw hat, that the mouse from Veggie Happy is wearing, didn't really fit here so I changed it as good as possible into a cap.
The lifting platform is part of the grandstand from Stadium Seating, I cut it a bit shorter. The other parts of the grandstand can be seen in the background where I created a shelf from it.
The spray bottle, the bucket and the "rags" - originally the bottom of a floor mop - are from Plan On It Spring Cleaning. And the tires, that are stacked on the right side of the card, are actually sushi rolls from Plan On It Meal Planning.... Yes, I really had to think outside the box for this card!
Hinten, über dem schon erwähnten Regal, habe ich eine Lochwand aufgehängt, die ja in keiner Werkstatt fehlen darf. Sie ist mit der Embroidery Hoop und einigem an Partial Diecutting entstanden. Und auf der befindet sich natürlich das Werkzeug.
Wie schon erwähnt, sind die Mäuse da eher mau ausgestattet und so findet man hier Gartengeräte aus Veggie Happy und Schere und Lineal aus Just Add Glitter. Auf dem Regal davor finden sich dann noch einige Flaschen und Dosen, wieder aus Just Add Glitter. Außerdem befindet sich hier das Radio aus Cheesy Christmas, das Telefon aus Plan On It Appointments und die Kaffeemaschine aus Treat Cart Add-On Coffee. Vor dem Regal steht noch ein Mülleimer und ein Besen, beide wieder aus Plan On It Spring Cleaning.
An der Lochwand hängt noch eine Uhr aus Plan On It Appointments und davor ein Greifarm für schweres Gerät, der aus dem Set You're Clawsome stammt.
Alle Teile sind mit Copics coloriert und per Hand ausgeschnitten.
In the back of the room, above the already mentioned shelf, I've hung up a pegboard that just has to be installed in each garage. I created it with the Embroidery Hoop die set and a lot of partial diecutting. And of course it's full of tools.
Like I said before, the mice are lacking a lot of the necessary tools still and so you can find garden tools from Veggie Happy and scissors and rulers from Just Add Glitter there. On the shelf in front of/under it there are a few bottles and cans, again from Just Add Glitter. There's also the radio from Cheesy Christmas, the phone from Plan On It Appointments and the coffee machine from Treat Cart Add-On Coffee. And in front of the shelf there's a trash can and a broom, both again from Plan On It Spring Cleaning.
On the pegboard there's also a clock from Plan On It Appointments and I also installed a grabber for heavy tools or car parts. This one is from You're Clawsome.
I colored all pieces with Copics and cut them out with my scissors.
Um den Mechanismus des Rolltors nicht zu behindern, war ich im Inneren der Garage etwas eingeschränkt was verschiedene Lagen angeht, ganz ohne konnte ich aber doch nicht. Also habe ich das Auto samt Hebebühne und die Mäuse mit dünnem 3D Tape hinterlegt.
Zum Schluss habe ich alles auf einen weißen Kartenrohling geklebt.
To not block the mechanism for the rolling up door I was a bit limited with layers on the inside of the card, but I couldn't resist and put thin foam tape at least behind the car and platform and the mice.
Then I adhered the card panel to a white note card.
