Heute habe ich eine Geburtstagskarte mit Bären für Euch. Es ist eine Trifold Card im Hochkant-Format, aber dazu dann gleich noch mehr.

Today I have this birthday card with bears to share with you. It's a trifold card in a portrait orientation, but more about that a bit later.
Für den Hintergrund habe ich ein Stück weißen Cardstocks mit einem Brayer und Stempeltinte in drei verschiedenen Blautönen eingefärbt. Dann habe ich die Wolken mit einem Embossingfolder von Spellbinders eingeprägt und außerdem silberne Metallic Watercolor aufgespritzt.
Aus weißem Cardstock habe ich dann einige Wolken ausgestanzt und auf den Himmel geklebt.
For the background I inked a piece of white cardstock with a brayer and three different shades of blue ink. Then I used a cloud embossing folder by Spellbinders to add the cloud pattern and splattered some silver metallic watercolor on top.
From white cardstock I die cut a few clouds and glued them onto the sky.
Die Bären sind aus dem Heart Hugs Stanzenset von HoneyBeeStamps. Das finde ich schon so lange toll - und eben weil die Begeisterung schon so lange anhält, durfte das Set nun bei mir einziehen. Der kleine Bär ist eigentlich ein Igel, ich fand aber, wenn ich die Stachellage weglasse, geht er auch als kleinerer Bär durch. Beide Bären habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und mit Copics ein wenig schattiert. Die Stanzteile für die Augen und Nasen sind doch recht klein, also habe ich mich hier entschieden, stattdessen diese Details mit einem schwarzen Glaze Pen nachzumalen. Dadurch glänzen sie auch noch toll. Und da die Details beim Stanzen in die Körper - eigentlich als Aufklebehilfe - eingeprägt werden und ich sie einfach ausmalen konnte, sitzen Augen und Nasen auch an den richtigen Stellen.
Auch das Herz und die Ballons sind aus dem selben Stanzenset. An die Ballons habe ich kleine Schleifen aus schwarzem Twine geklebt.
The bears are from the Heart Hugs die set by HoneyBeeStamps. I've been eyeing with this set for quite some time - and because I still loved it I finally decided to order it. The little bear is actually the body of a hedgehog. I thought, if I leave out the back layer it also works as a smaller bear. I die cut both bears from white cardstock and shaded them with Copics. The detail pieces for the eyes and noses are pretty small so I decided, to draw them on with a black glaze pen instead. This way they als have a nice glossy look. And since these details get embossed into the bodies - originally as a hint for where to glue the die cuts on - I was able to just color them in and they will be in the right spot.
Also the heart and the balloons are from the same stamp set. To the balloons I glued a little bow, tied from black twine.
Ich habe ja schon erwähnt, dass es sich hier um eine Trifold Card handelt. Die oberste Lage besteht aus den Bären, die man nach unten wegklappen kann. Die zweite Lage ist dann der Himmel, hinter den Bären ist der Text der Karte versteckt.
Für die Bärenlage habe ich unten nur einen 2 cm breiten Streifen als Kartenfront eingearbeitet und dort die Bären angeklebt. Die Laschenteile rechts und links der Bären habe ich weggeschnitten. Und weil ich die Bären ja mit Copics schattiert habe, war die Farbe auf der Rückseite des Cardstocks sichtbar. Weil ich das immer nicht so schön finde, habe ich die Bären noch ein weiteres Mal aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und von hinten dagegen geklebt. Zwischen den beiden Lagen des großen Bären und unter dem Himmel befindet sich jeweils ein Magnet, der dafür sorgt, dass die Karte auch geschlossen bleibt und die Bären stehen bleiben.
Ein kleines Problem waren die Luftballons, die ja nur mit den dünnen Schnüren am Bären befestigt sind. Damit die nicht umherfallen und umknicken, habe ich sie einfach mit zwei dünnen Streifen einer festen Folie am kleineren Bären angeklebt.
Mit einem weißen Gelstift habe ich noch einen Rahmen auf diese Lage der Karte aufgemalt.
I already mentioned that this is a trifold card. The top layer is made from just the bears, that can be folded down. The second layer is the sky with the text, that is hidden behind the bears.
For the bears layer I only created a 1" flap at the bottom of the card and attached the bears to it. I cut off the parts to the left and right of the bears. And since I had shaded the bears with Copics the ink, that had bled through the cardstock, was visible on the back. I just think, that doesn't look nice. So I die cut the bears again from white cardstock and glued it to the back of the bears. Between the two layers of the big bear and also between the sky panels I put a little magnet, that keeps the card closed and makes sure, the bears keep standing when the card is closed.
The balloons were a little problem since they are only attached to the little bear with those thin balloon strings. To make sure they don't rip of or fall to the sides I simply added two thin strips of acetate behind the strings.
Using a white gel pen I drew a frame onto the sky layer.
Wie gesagt habe ich den Text so auf den Himmel geklebt, dass er bei geschlossener Karte hinter den Bären versteckt ist.
Der größte Teil des Textes ist mit weißem Embossingpulver auf schwarzen Cardstock embosst. Ich habe dafür Stempel aus den Sets Itty Bitty Love, Bitty Holiday Wishes und Little Birthday Notes von MFT. Das Wort Birthday habe ich einmal aus weißem und einmal aus rotem Cardstock gestanzt und beide Lagen leicht versetzt auf den Hintergrund geklebt. Als I-Punkt habe ich das kleinste der Herzen aus dem Heart Hugs Stanzenset aufgeklebt.
Like I said I did glue the text onto the sky in a way that it is hidden behind the bears when the card is closed.
The majority of the texts is white heat embossed onto black cardstock. I used stamps from the sets Itty Bitty Love, Bitty Holiday Wishes and Little Birthday Notes by MFT here. The word birthday I die cut once from white and once from red cardstock and glued them a bit offset onto the sky. The tittle of the i I replaced with the smallest heart from the Heart Hugs die set.
Die Lage mit dem Himmel lässt sich nach oben klappen und dort ist dann Platz für einen persönlichen Text.
The sky layer can be folded up and on the inside there's room for a personal message.
